Destroying monster generators quickly

This trick requires a melee class with a weapon that has long reach, such as a stick, spear, or rapier. Stand just outside the range of the generator's shock wave. If timed correctly, pressing X without initiating a combo will allow you to do the first attack of the combo quickly. This can also be done with a thief and a throwing knife, as they can throw their knives, sickles, and spikes in rapid succession from close range.
