Hints
GBU32 bomb
When using the GBU32 (1000 lb.) bomb, fly low, close to the ground target you have locked on to. Set the throttle to about 32 or 34. You must fly at a low speed or the radar message "DROP" will never appear. This does not have to be done with the GBU32 (2000 lb.) bomb.
Reducing radar detection
- The F-22 Raptor employs LOST (Low Observable Stealth Technology). Reduce the RCS (Radar Cross Section) of the aircraft as much as possible. You can do this by flying with your radar turned off while maintaining a cruising speed of about 400 to 500 mph (approximately 90 percent thrust) whenever possible.
- Try not to carry ordnance on your aircraft's external hardpoints. Weaponry mounted under your wings will increase the RCS of the aircraft, making it much easier for enemy radar installations to track it.
Using your wingman
Your wingman is very skilled at taking out SAM (surface-to-air missile) batteries. Let him concentrate on destroying any SAM sites within the objective area while you eliminate the radar installations.
