Cheat mode

Pause in any game under their easier difficulty setting, then press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, L, R. All weapons and power-ups will be unlocked.

Gradius Gaiden: Power-up

Pause game play, then press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle.

Unlockables

Free Play mode

Have a saved game file with over ten hours of accumulated game play.

Level select

Successfully complete the game without using any continues.

Gradius 3: Cube Attack

Survive until level 9.

Gradius 3: Extra Mode

Survive until level 9.

Gradius 3: Extra Edit

Successfully complete the game. Select Extra Mode to access more weapons.

Gradius 3: Gradius level

Intentionally get shot by the mouth attack of the final Boss.

Gradius 3: Salamander level

Intentionally get shot by the mouth attack of the final Boss.

Gradius 3: Stage Select

Successfully complete the game.
