Hyper speed mode

Pro-Face Off mode

Successfully complete the Career mode under the medium difficulty setting. You can now play against your friends with same notes.

Golden four star

Hit every note in a song but strum an extra time whenever you get a 4x multiplier.

Hints

Hammering on and pulling off:

Hammering On and Pulling Off happens when you can strum on one note and successfully hit the notes that come after it without using the strum bar. Look for the single notes with white rings on top instead of black rings. As long as you hit the previous note, you can hit the next note by pressing the correct fret button. This is especially useful on songs like Cult of Personality under the Hard difficulty setting.

Angus Young reference

When you play a song with Clive Winston, occasionally he will move on one leg and move the other leg up and down. This is a move that Angus Young, the guitarist from AC/DC, did during concerts.

Jimmy Page reference

Play as Clive Whitnstin and activate Star Power. Sometimes he will pull out a bow and play the guitar with it. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin is famous for doing this.

Easy "Hendrix Award" achievement

This achievement is earned by completing a song with the lefty flip on. This is difficult. Try laying on something (bed, chairs, couch) and look at the screen upside down. Even with the lefty flip on, while you are laying upside down the notes will seem to appear as normal and you can get the achievement very easily.

Get a mirror and position it to where you can see the screen with it. Then, turn left flip on. This is a good way to get that achievement without switching hands.

In order to accomplish this, you must turn on the left flip in the video option of the paused game menu. Just play a song on easy; they go slow and are only three notes.

Easy "Kick The Bucket Award" achievement

Go to Practice mode and select Jordan under the Expert difficulty. Do full speed and the first two sections (verse one and chorus one). After the section is over, count two seconds, then remove the controller from the Xbox 360. After it is reinserted, the fret board should still be going with no notes. Press Start and quit. Go to Quickplay mode, then select Jordan on the Expert difficulty. There should be no sound, and the score meter should look strange. The song will start, and all you have to do is play verse one and chorus one. After that, the song will continue to play, but you do not have to play any notes. You should get the achievement after the song ends.

Play with controller

Use the following trick to play with a normal controller. Using a normal controller is very different than playing with a SG controller. For example, you do not preset your fret and then strum; you just press the fret and it strums for you. It is easier than using a SG controller, but not as much fun. The button equivalents are as follows. Note: To navigate the menu, use Up and Down to go up and down. Press A to select the highlighted item and press Y to go to the previous menu.

Green: LT

Strum: Left Analog-stick Up and Down

Glitches

Completing "Carry On My Wayward Son"

When you first start the song, quickly tap the strum bar until it is red and will not go anymore. Then when a note appears and you do not do anything, it will not go down anymore.

Incorrect scoring

After completing a song without missing a single star power phrase, it will occasionally say you missed one, even with 100% notes hit during a song.
