Cheat Codes

All Golden and Silver era players

Press L1, L2, Square(2), Triangle, Circle, Down at the main menu. The controller will vibrate to confirm correct code entry. It will not show up on your profile, but it does work in Exhibition mode.

All classic stadiums

Press Down, Right, Circle, Square, Left, Triangle, Up, L1 at the main menu. The controller will vibrate to confirm correct code entry. It will not show up on your profile, but it does work in Exhibition mode.

Hints

Easy wins

When trailing (or winning) and you hit a ball into the ground or fly out, pause game play. Enter the "Controller Select" screen then choose the other team. Make them throw the ball to the wrong base or miss the fly ball.

Easy saves

Put your in closer at the beginning of the seventh inning and pitch him the rest of the game.

Easy base stealing

If you have a fast base runner, such as Jacoby Ellsbury, Chone Figgins, Ichrio, etc., steal most of the time to second or third with speed all the way up. If you have a good hitter at the plate you will score easy runs.

Stealing home

This trick will work for almost any created players with pretty low speed in Road To The Show mode. When on third base, take as many steps as you can off the bag (usually three steps). As soon as you see the "Step Back" button flash yellow repeatedly, tap R1  PlayStation3  or RB  Xbox 360  . This will cause your player to bolt for home plate. Continue to tap R1  PlayStation3  or RB  Xbox 360  . Because you are already three steps off the base by the time the third baseman throws it to home, you will already be safe. This will work about 90% of the time, and you will not even have to dive. This helps if you are in a close game and need that one extra run.

Easy training points

In Road To The Show mode when you are a pitcher, a good way to get extra training points is to catch every possible pop up you can reach on the infield. One putout is worth 5 points, two put outs are worth 10 points, three put outs are worth 15 points, and it goes up. Make sure you can easily reach the pop up. If you arrive at the same time the ball is about to reach the infielder who is calling for the pop up, it may fall in.

Cheap free agents

During the free agent signing period in Franchise mode, you can offer a very low salary (such as $30,000), to any free agent (even the high end ones such as A-Rod). If they have no offers besides yours at the end of the signing period, they will sign with you. Do this to get free agents for cheap.
