Alternate costumes

Press X, Square, Triangle or R1 at the character selection screen when choosing a fighter for different costumes. Each character has up to four different costumes.

Quick reset

  • Press Start + Select during game play in Training or Mission modes to reset to the middle of the screen. Note: Also pressing [Assist 1] or [Assist 2] will place the corresponding character on point.
  • Press Start + Select + Left or Right during game play in Training or Mission modes to reset to the corresponding corner of the screen. Note: Also pressing [Assist 1] or [Assist 2] will place the corresponding character on point.

Get the indicated number of player points by playing in any mode to unlock the corresponding character. Note: Playing in Arcade mode and online will gain player points faster.

Select Arthur, Dante, or Phoenix in the Model Viewer. Once the model appears, press the Select  PlayStation3  or Back  Xbox 360  to view that character's alternate model. You can then press X  PlayStation3  or A  Xbox 360  to view an alternate color scheme.

Easy "Herculean Task" achievement

Set the game to the Very Hard difficulty setting, 30 second time limit, and damage on highest. Choose Task Master with Aim Master Assist, Chris with Gunshot Assist and Dr Doom with Plasma Beam Assist. Keep using the projectiles from the corner to win every match. When you reach Galactus, activate X-Factor and do a Hyper Crossover Combo to knock off a decent amount of health. He will hit you before you are done. At this point, fight him as you would normally.

Easy "Weapon X" achievement or trophy

Win a match with Deadpool, Wolverine and X-23 as your team.

Viral video references

  • There is a reference by Deadpool to the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 viral video, "mahvel baybee!". During this video, the gamer known as Yipes refers to Magneto as "Mag-Fuckin'-Neto", and makes the remark "Where yo curleh mustache at?". During the game when Deadpool defeats Magneto to win the match he says "I just beat Mag-freakin-Neto. Where yo curleh mustache at?"
  • Also during the video, Yipes says "Oh he got da Mango Sentinel", referring to the blue and yellow Sentinel. Marvel verified that the "Mango" Sentinel is playable in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. During the video, Yipes plays with the white and red Magneto. Marvel verified that the red and white Magneto will be playable as well, dubbed "MAG-FUCKIN'-NETO".
