Secret infantry units
If you send spies into your enemy's Barracks, Battle Lab and War Factory you can unlock secret infantry units and will be able to build tanks and other units already promoted with one
stripe. For example, in battle with the Soviets the Yuri Prime, Chrono Ivan, Chrono Commando, Psi Commando can be unlocked.
Psi Commando
Play as the Allies. You need an opponent from the Soviet side. Build your Battle Lab as soon as it becomes available. Place it near your War Factory or Barracks in case that your opponent likes tank rushes. Make sure to protect your investment, as this is the key to unlock your Psi Commandos. Once you have your Battle Lab online, train at least one Spy. Spies must first disguise as an enemy infantry. Infiltrate your opponent's Soviet Battle Lab. As soon as the Spy has taken over the building, your Psi Commando will be available in your infantry list. A Psi Commando uses Ultimate Mind Control and has C4 charges that can easily eliminate buildings. The Ultimate Mind Control can also be used on non-enemy units, such as cars and animals, which you can use to scout the enemy's base or cause mass destruction on it. They can cause permanent brain death on the enemy infantry, which is their second attack. They can quickly take out buildings with C4 charges. The best use of Psi Commandos is to garrison them into key buildings, where they can use their Ultimate Mind Control at very long ranges to control enemy units.
Yuri Prime
To get Yuri Prime, you must have an Soviet barracks and send a Spy into an enemy Soviet Battle Lab. This unit is like a Super Yuri. He floats above the ground, can mind control anything, and his deployed attack (which fries all nearby infantry units' brains), recharges instantly.
Secret units from your own Battle Lab
Damage your Battle Lab slightly. Take an Engineer and a Spy. Put the Engineer just in front of the Spy. Select them both, set Waypoint mode, and place one waypoint near the Battle Lab with another one directly inside it. This should have a "Repair" pointer. Turn off Waypoint mode and both units will go inside. You will thus acquire a powerful secret unit from your own Battle Lab.
Free soldiers
- Build a Cloning Vat, then capture a Hospital. Shoot your own soldier, but do not kill him. Send him into the Hospital. When he comes out, you will receive an extra soldier of the same type sent in, without having to pay for one. You can use this with any unit.
- Build hospital and shoot one of your men. Let him go to the hospital and will get an extra one.
Build Navy Seals
If you garrison the Pentagon, you can build Navy Seals
which have machine guns and can place C4.
Xidarian.
Free Soviet men
Build a Cloning Vat and wall your Barracks completely.
When you build a unit, the one coming out of the barracks will
be refunded, but you must already have enough money to be deducted
from your account. When it has finished training the unit, you
will be refunded. A good way to make money is to build a lot of
expensive soldiers and send them back into the Cloning Vat.
Spy units
- When you send a spy into an enemy Battle Lab, you will get one brand-new infantry unit to produce. The units are:
- Chrono Commando: If you have an Allied Barracks, send a spy into an Allied Battle Lab.
- Psi Commando: If you have an Allied Barracks, send a spy into a Soviet Battle Lab.
- Chrono Ivan: If you have a Soviet Barracks, send a spy into an Allied Battle Lab.
- Yuri Prime: If you have a Soviet Barracks, send a spy into a Soviet Battle Lab.
- Also, infiltrating a War Factory/Barracks gives you the ability to build Veteran units/infantry; infiltrating a Power Plant/Tesla or Nuclear Reactor shuts off that person's power for about a minute; infiltrating a Refinery lets you steal money; and infiltrating a Chronosphere/Iron Curtain/Nuke Silo/Weather Control resets that Superweapon's timer.
- The best way to defend against spies is Yuri. Just place him by your crucial buildings. , When the spy is close, he will switch sides. Use this to infiltrate the battle lab of your enemy. Note: Psi-Commandos can also do this.
Animal spy
If playing as the Allies and you see a cow, select
the spy, hold [Ctrl], and click on the cow. If done correctly,
you will see the spy as a cow. You can do this with any other
animal, and the enemies will not attack it.
Tracking spies
If you see units that are the same color as your away
from your base walking towards it, check to see if you can attack
them as they are probably spies.
Navy SEALS in Skirmish play
Build a map of any kind using Westwood's map editor.
It must contain the Pentagon building. Start a Skirmish game with
this map with any country and send some basic troops into the
Pentagon (GIs or Conscripts) to gain the ability to build SEALS.
If the Pentagon is destroyed or your men are sent out, you will
lose the ability to build SEALS.
Aegis super-burst fire
Select an full upgraded Aegis Cruiser while enemy air
units are incoming. Move the pointer over the enemy air unit and
click many times. The Aegis will burst a large number of missiles
against the air unit.
Apocalypse Tank defense
To have the best defense in skirmish mode, build at
least six Apocalypse Tanks. Put them in front of your base and
they will eliminate any ground or air unit. Be careful if they
send Yuris, but this rarely happens.
Chrono-destruction
- Build a Chronosphere, Radar and Spy Satellite. When they are constructed, start Chrono-shifting enemy units into other enemy bases. If you can get control of a Iron Curtain, use it on enemy units. They will destroy chunks of enemy bases and then be destroyed themselves when the Iron Curtain wears off.
- Pack about ten Chrono Legionnaires together to zap an enemy building out of time.
Sink enemy tanks with Chronosphere
Build a Chronosphere and let it charge. Find a large
group of enemy units. Use it on them and put it in the water.
Any open infantry will die and you can watch the tanks sink. Note:
You can do the same thing with naval units by putting them on
land. If you put the units on a building or another unit, the
units that were moved will become very strong bombs and cause
major damage.
Kill tanks and ships with one Chronophere
Play as the Allies and make a Chronophere. When it
is ready, Chronophere some enemy tanks on their ships.
Mass Chronosphere
Build up the tech tree so that you can build a Naval
Yard, your favorite tank (Prism Tanks recommended), and a Chronoshere.
Build two to four Amphibious Transports (from your Naval Yard)
and four tanks for each transport you make. Load the tanks into
the transports, and group the transports together tightly. You
can now Chronospere large numbers of units across the map all
at once. You can also transport infantry in this manner. Remember,
large amounts of tanks mean nothing if the transports they are
in are destroyed prior to unloading. Unload the tanks immediately
after they have reached their destination.
Get Chrono on any unit
Send up to 100 or more Spies into a Battle Lab of either
side (Soviet or Allied). Then, get six units (GIs or Conscripts)
and put them in a group next to your War Factory. Then, order
them to destroy an enemy's defensive structure. Next, go to your
enemy's base with eight tanks (Rhino or Grizzly) once the other
units are destroyed. Once the tanks are destroyed, train one Engineer
and order him to capture your enemy's War Factory. Sell it, and
you should have all your units with "Chrono" beside
their name.
Chrono IFV
To get a Chrono IFV, make a Chrono Legionnaire and put it in a IFV. Make ten to fifteen of these and get them to the back of the enemy base. Three can destroy any building in a few seconds. Bring some IFV for air support.
Indestructible MCV
Have a Chrono Legionnaire stand next to your MCV. If Kirov Airships get too close, hold [Ctrl] so you can target your own troops and instruct the Chrono Legionnaire to attack your MCV. If it is only a single non-upgraded Chrono Legionnaire, he will take a long time to remove you MCV. In the meantime your air defenses can take out the airships, and any bombs they may drop on your MCV will do no damage.
Invincible Demolition Trucks
Build five or six Demolition Trucks and have a fully charged Iron Curtain ready. Drive the Demolition Trucks into an enemy base and engage the Iron Curtain on them before enemy weapons can hit them. The Demolition Trucks will not explode until they reach the target.
Mega Demolition Truck
Build five Terrorists, one Ivan, and a Flak Track.
Have Ivan put bombs on each Terrorist, and immediately send each
one in the Flak Track. Then, send it in the enemy base in an unprotected
area and deploy it. One Terrorist will explode, destroying the
Flak Track and blowing up all the other Terrorists, which will
destroy any nearby building. Note: This does not work with a civilian
bus controlled by a Yuri.
Demolition Trucks, when not as Libyans
Get an Allied IFV and put either an Ivan or a Chrono
Ivan in it. Have the Ivan IFV attack something. Not only will
he create a small nuclear explosion like that of the Demolition
Truck, but he also executes Yuri's secondary attack. The only
problem is that, unlike the Demo Truck, if the IFV is destroyed
the attack does not occur.
Demolition Trucks with any Soviet nation
Buy a few Crazy Ivans (five recommended) and a Flak
Track. Set dynamite on all of the Crazy Ivans and get them in
before the bomb goes off. Once in, it will not detonate until
they get out. Drive the truck up to the enemy Prism Towers or
Pillboxes and watch the fireworks. Do not bother emptying the
flak track.
Semi-Demolition Truck
- If you can build Crazy Ivans or Terrorists, and then an IFV (build or mind control), then you can make a "Semi-Demo Truck". Load either a Crazy Ivan or Terrorist into an IFV. Drive it into an enemy base and you can use it as a Demo Truck. It is powerful enough to kill nearby units and then severely damage buildings.
- Send a Crazy Ivan into a Flak Track and it will act just like a Demolition Truck when it explodes.
Cheap Demolition Truck
For this tactic to work you need to have access to a Crazy Ivan or Terrorist and an IFV. Put the Crazy Ivan or Terrorist into the IFV to get a nice cheap Demolition Truck.
Invincible Demolition Trucks
Construct five or six Demolition Trucks and have a fully charged Iron Curtain at the ready. Move the trucks into an enemy base, then activate the Iron Curtain around them before the enemy attacks. The trucks will not explode until they reach their target.
Mega Demolition Chopper
You need to use Cuba for this trick. Train five Terrorists
and a Crazy Ivan then capture an Allied War Factory to build a
Nighthawk Transport. First, use the Ivan to plant bombs on the
Terrorists, then immediately put it to the Nighthawk Transport
and land it on an enemy base.
Extended Desolator time
Order an Iraqi Desolator to use his second attack.
When he is doing that, have him to force fire on something that
cannot be killed by the radiation. You can do this with some land
forms such as cliff faces and sometimes even open ground. This
makes the Desolator do the attack more often and the ground will
glow brighter. If the attack goes on long enough, then the radiation
will linger in the area for minutes or even hours, after the Desolator
dies or you order him to move.
Desolator wasteland
The more Desolators that are deployed, the brighter
green the ground glows. If you place five Desolators next to each
other, then deploy, nothing can survive.
Extended Desolator wasteland time
Get several Desolators in the area you want to be a
barren, dead wasteland and deploy them. Once deployed, tell them
to force fire on something. Anything will do, but not a unit which
can be killed by radiation -- try the side of a cliff or a tree.
They will shoot radiation into the ground more often when told
to attack. Before long the ground will be glowing very brightly.
If they die or you tell them to go somewhere else, the spot will
still be effected. The longer you do this, the longer it takes
to wear off. If you do this long enough to actually make some
parts of the ground look white, then it can last for minutes after
they are gone.
Cheap Flak Cannon
When playing any side that has Soviet units, never build a Flak Cannon. It will take up more power and is expensive. To create a cheap Flak Cannon replacement, build three Flak Troopers and surround them with walls or just have them patrol. This results in triple the attack of a Flak Cannon in one hit.
Defend against Harvesters
The easiest way to destroy an enemy Harvester is with Rocket Fighters.
Defend against Iron Curtain
There are three ways to stop Iron Curtained units. Use Yuris or PSI Commandos to take them over; use Chrono Legionnaires to freeze them; or use the Chronosphere to pick them up and then deposit them in the water or on cliffs.
MCV
Always keep an MCV (Mobile Construction Vehicle) and
some extra money in case the enemy destroys your base. But try
to keep it hidden far away, secluded on an island, etc., to prevent
the enemy from finding it.
New MCV
Note: MCV repacks must be enabled. Build up the tech
tree until you can get superweapons. Build a Chronosphere and
at least five Engineers. If the enemy base is not heavily protected
(very few dogs and/or defensive structures), build enough Nighthawk
transport helicopters to hold all your Engineers. If the base
is heavily guarded (significant dog/defensive structure present)
build an IFV for each Engineer and load them up. Use tanks for
backup if there are walls. Rush your helicopters/IFV's next to
the enemy Construction Yard and unload the Engineers. Have one
take the Construction Yard and pack it into an MCV (click on the
Construction Yard, then click somewhere on the map) and Chronosphere
it back to your base, while using the other Engineers to take
any other buildings over. Now you have a new MCV, and hopefully
a new tech tree. Note: this trick works better if you have a Spy
infiltrate a War Factory first (to give the IFVs more power).
Paratroopers
When playing as the Allies, you get paratroopers. However,
you can also get a second group of paratroopers when you take
over an airport.
Trojan bus
- When playing as the Soviets, use a Yuri to mind control a school bus. Load five infantry units into the bus and drive it inside an enemy base, The Allies will not fire on the bus.
mumf
- This strategy works best on The Alamo. Have a Yuri mind control a school bus. Place five Terrorists inside. Send the bus near an enemy base and have a Crazy Ivan place a bomb on it. Drive the bus up to a vulnerable target (for example, War Factory, Power Plant, or Barracks) and wait for it to explode. When it does, the terrorists will emerge unharmed, ready to deliver their load.
- This trick requires a Yuri, Crazy Ivan, and five Conscripts. Have Yuri mind control a bus, then have Ivan put a bomb on each of the Conscripts before you put them in the bus. Once the bombs and conscripts are on the bus, drive it over to the enemy base. The CPU will not attack it. Park it near a building, or units or turrets preferably. The bus will not be strong enough to destroy a building with one hit. Press D (deploy) and watch the bus explodes.
Using Tanyas
Play as the Allies and build up the tech tree. Build
three Chrono Legionaries and two Tanyas. Put them in a Nighthawk
helicopter and transport them behind your enemy's base. Take them
out of the Nighthawk and have the Chrono Legionaries start to
warp out defense, rendering them helpless. Then, take Tanya and
C-4 (detonator icon) the defense while the Chrono Legionaries
are warping them out. This destroys them without having to wait
for the Chrono Legionaries to warp it out (which takes a long
time).
Defend against Tanya
The best way to fend off Tanya rushes (if you are England) is to put a sniper in an IFV and sit it at your gate. Even if five Tanyas are sent, you will have killed each one of them before
they are even within Tanya's long range.
Tesla troopers
Elite Tesla troopers have the same effect that Prism
Towers/Tanks have on attackers. Their electricity will bounce
all over. Combined with the self heal, and long range of an elite,
you can use one or two of these units to shut down bases, or obliterate
attackers.
Tesla Coil power-up
- If you put Tesla Troopers near a Tesla Coil, they will power the Tesla Coil. This does not work with Tesla Tanks.
- Place a few Tesla Troopers (or Tesla Tanks) near a Tesla Tower. They will power up the Tesla Tower so it shoots out a super bolt.
Tesla Napalm
Get a Kirov Airship fully promoted to get the Tesla Napalm. It is blue.
Snipers and trees
You can put a solid group of Snipers or Chrono Legionnaires
behind a tree so that they are not visible. Put them in guard
mode and perhaps have a transport ready to get them out of there
if they are found. Your opponent will completely be baffled when
he loses his infantry rush and Apocalypse Tanks. Note: Make sure
you have some way to protect your men if they are attacked.
Finding spies
Spies can be exceedingly annoying, yet are easily discovered. Dogs help, but in the event they are killed or you do not want to use them, try the following strategy. The AI is not too smart with its spies. Look for units that are not behaving the way they should, like Chrono Legionnaires which are walking instead of teleporting, Tanyas which go around water rather than through it, or Rocketeers which are earthbound. Also, look for units which you know you only have one of, or that you know are doing something else that are going toward your base. For example, if you see what looks like one of your Tesla Troopers coming toward your base when all your Tesla Troopers are charging T-Coils. If you see any of the above, select a unit with attack capability (or defensive structure) and hold the pointer over the odd unit. If it becomes a targeting cursor instead of a select cursor, then kill the unit immediately (unless you either have other things to worry about or want a spy in your base for some odd reason. If playing against a human opponent, look for units entering your base when you did not order them to. Humans are (usually) too smart to do things like turning spies into Rocketeers (except against the AI ).
.
Animal spy
When playing as the Allies and you see a cow, select the spy, hold [Ctrl], and click on the cow. If done correctly, you will see the spy as a cow. You can do this with any other animal, and the enemies will not attack it.
Unit rush
- Tank rush: At least 10 armored tanks (Apocalypse and Prism Tanks are good choices).
- Airship rush: 3 Kirov Airships, 8 Flak Troopers or 4 Flak Tracks, 3 to 5 Rhino Heavy Tanks.
- Rocketeer rush: 20 to 30 Rocketeers, 5 Grizzly Battle Tanks.
- Air Force rush: At least 6 Harriers or 5 Black Eagles.
- Infantry rush: 40 Conscripts or 30 GIs.
- Engineer rush: 30 to 50 Engineers, 10 to 15 GIs.
- Naval rush: 3 Typoon Subs or 3 Destroyers, 2 Squids or 2 Dolphins, 2 Dreadnoughts or 2 Aircraft Carriers, 4 Sea Scorpions or 2 AEGIS Cruisers.
- Demo Truck rush: 3 to 6 Demolition Trucks (try to Iron Curtain them).
- Terrorist rush: 15 to 30 Terrorists.
- Crazy Ivan rush: 10 to 15 Crazy Ivans.
- Tanya rush: 5 Tanya, 2 or 4 IFV or Grizzly Battle Tanks.
