Ein
To unlock Ein in other modes, play through Story mode
as Hitomi and defeat him at the end. After the intermission sequence
you will be notified that Ein is unlocked. This applies to all
modes but Story mode, as hidden characters do not have a story.
Gen Fu
Play through the game as Eliot and finish his Story
mode. After the intermission sequence you will be notified Gen
Fu is now playable in all modes except Story mode. No hidden characters
can be used in Story mode.

Complete Story mode with all sixteen characters to
unlock her in all modes.

Leon
Complete Story mode as Zack to unlock him in all modes
except for Story mode.

Complete Story mode as Helena to unlock Spartan-458

Tengu
Complete Time Attack mode with all characters, including the bonus characters.
Use the following trick to unlock Tengu easily. Go to the "Options" menu and go to the "Time Attack" settings. Change the matches to one instead of two. Then, play in Time Attack mode with everyone. It will be easier to do now because you only have to defeat everyone one time. This should unlock Tengu. Note: This will not work to help you unlock the extra character costumes (Leon, Gen Fu, etc.).
Biolab Core stage
Successfully complete Story mode.
Nassau Station stage
Complete Story mode as Helena to unlock a stage similar
to the first stage of Halo 2, the hangar area.
Tatami stage
Unlock all costumes and system voices and complete story mode for all seventeen characters to access the Tatami stage, which has a floor mat with no walls.
Movie Theater mode
Successfully complete Story mode. More movies can be unlocked by completing Story mode with a different character.
Commercial video
Successfully complete story mode with all characters to unlock the U.S. television commercial for the game in Movie Theater mode.
Increased bounciness
As in the previous Dead Or Alive games, you
may enter your age as "99" by going into your profile
from the main menu. This will result in the female characters'
breasts to bounce more than usual.
Alternate character appearance
Press A to select La Mariposa, Leifang , or Kasumi. Then press X, Y, or A to start the match with their alternate appearance.
- La Mariposa: First complete Story mode with La Mariposa to unlock her alternate appearances. Press Y or X to have La Mariposa without her mask on. Press A to have her mask on.
- LeiFang: Press Y to have LeiFang wear eyeglasses (which can be knocked off during a fight). Press X to have LeiFang in her old school braids. Press A to have LeiFang normal (long) hair.
- Kasumi: Press Y to have Kasumi with a high pony tail. Press X to have Kasumi with a low pony tail. Press A to have Kasumi with normal (long) hair.
To have Kasumi fight with her braided hairstyle, press Start when selecting her at the character select screen.
To have La Mariposa appear as Lisa, complete Story mode With La Mariposa two times. Select La Mariposa at the character selection screen and choose her fourth costume. This will reveal La Mariposa's occupation, blood type, and birthday. Lisa is La Mariposa with a Kitty costume.
Alternate costumes
Complete Story mode to unlock an alternate costume
with the following characters. If available, the next alternate
costume for that character will be unlocked when Story mode is
completed again with them.

Complete Time Attack mode under the default settings to unlock an alternate costume with the following characters. If available, the next alternate costume for that character will be unlocked when Time Attack mode is completed again with them.

Alternate stages
Press X or Y at the stage selection screen to change various aspects of the selected stage.
Change system announcer's voice
In the options menu, notice that you can choose different
voices for the system announcer. To unlock additional voices,
enter sparring mode and bring up the sparring menu. Select "Exercise"
and you will be prompted to run through an extensive moves list.
Once you complete it, that character's voice will be available
as a system announcer.
To unlock the voice of Alpha-152, unlock the system announcer voice for all characters except Ein.
Alternate message
On the Gamblers Paradise stage, if you have Xbox Live,
have a motto, and are signed in, look at the thing that scrolls
the message "Congratulations on the Xbox 360 launch!".
Instead of showing that, it will show your motto scrolling across.
Time Attack mode trophies
Complete single mode with the indicated time limit to unlock the corresponding trophy.
- Bronze: 5:00 to 6:00
- Silver: 4:30 to 5:00
- Gold: Less than 4:30
Complete tag mode with the indicated time limit to unlock the corresponding trophy.
- Bronze: 4:00 to 4:30
- Silver: 3:30 to 4:00
- Gold: Less than 3:30
Survival mode trophies
Complete single mode with the indicated number of wins to unlock the corresponding trophy.
- Bronze: 20 wins
- Silver: 40 wins
- Gold: 60 wins
Complete tag mode with the indicated number of wins to unlock the corresponding trophy.
- Bronze: 20 wins
- Silver: 40 wins
- Gold: 60 wins
