In the cargo hold (the room next to the hanger), there is a terminal on a table somewhere on the ground level. The terminal tells the story of some thieves who stole a weapon from the military, and has an option to "Open Remote Safe". Select it, and in the debris pile around the chute that Brahmin flies through is a safe with the weapon "MPX Novasurge". This is an extremely powerful plasma pistol, with 60+ DAM in good condition.
