Starting out

First, find the three torn letter pieces at the following locations: next to Stapler the robot, next to the plants to the left of the screen over the big door, and at the left corner in the path to the "What's New" screen. You can now proceed with the fragment pieces and butterflies.

Butterflies

Butterfly #1

Talk to Stapler the robot until you are given a mission. Go to the "What's New" screen and clap in front of it. Answer "AUTOMATIC" to the question "What's Jess' favorite band?" Enter that answer at the HoloPAD to unlock the butterfly.

Butterfly #2

Talk to Stapler and select "A Foreign Language". Use the Online Gateway to visit the Jess247.com website. Go to the "Documents" folder and open the "010101.txt" file. The ASCII coded characters are decoded as follows:

Enter "VANESSAATALANTA" into the HoloPAD to unlock the butterfly. Note: Do not include the space when entering the code.

Butterfly #3

Use the Online Gateway to visit the Xijess.com website or look at the Video Vault to see a video featuring a billboard reading "NY 5" and some random information flashes of other locations. There is a billboard in each location with another part of a word. The number indicates the position in the word where the letters appear. The word is "BADACSONYTOMAJ". Enter it at the HoloPAD for the butterfly.

Butterfly #4

Each of the five coordinates are past places where the G8 Summit was held. The answer is where it will be held next, "La Maddalena". Enter "LAMADDALENA" at the HoloPAD for the butterfly.

Butterfly #5

Use the portal in the Hub marked with a large red "1" to enter Alpha Zone 1 and access the "Game Test Area". Complete Hexopolis and Maximum Tilt under the expert level. Then enter the Adventure Lobby. Select the "Corrupted" expert level text adventure and complete it for the butterfly. Note: The solution to "Corrupted" is as follows.

Butterfly #6

The clock faces have letters on them. Unscramble them to get the name of the star Beta Centauri. Enter "BETACENTAURI" at the HoloPAD.

Butterfly #7

After registering at the terminal to get fragment piece #7, notice the writing in the locker room translates to red, blue, yellow, green. Go to the second terminal on the left, next to new staff registration, labeled "Server File Optimizer". Solve the color coded puzzle by moving the blocks so that they are color coded with the servers in the order red, blue, yellow, green. The terminal users and passwords are: for Tobin_Croft the password is "TARANTINO"; for Ali_Dupont the password is "OBAMA"; and for Nick_Nuttall the password is "KOALA".

Butterfly #8

Step on the Online Gateway on the second floor and visit the AlphaAFK website. Abbreviations are the solution to the puzzle.

1. Parma is "PMF"

2. Lyon-Saint-Exuperyis "LYS"

3. Mitchell is "MKE"

Combine the three abbreviations to get "PMFLYSMKE". Enter that code at the HoloPAD for the butterfly.

Butterfly #9

Jess is trying to keep people out of Maintenance. Search that area to find a blue butterfly on the wall next to the lockers. Enter "BLUE" into the HoloPAD. You will then have new mail, with the question "What color did Newton say lies between C and D?" The answer is "Violet". Enter "VIOLET" into the HoloPAD to get the butterfly.

Butterfly #10

The clue from the video will send you to the 3p424187.com web site, which will then give you the code "THOR888" to be entered into the HoloPAD.

Butterfly #11

Watch the fast video to get the code "AUREVOIR" to be entered into the HoloPAD.

Butterfly #12

The answers are as follows. After entering them, notice that one digit in each answer is underlined in red. Stringing them together creates the number "3666736458", which should be entered into the HoloPAD.

Butterfly #13

Enter "JNBJH3ITM" into the HoloPAD.

Butterfly #14

Enter Jess' apartment. Interact with the picture near the door to get the code "109-123" to be entered into the HoloPAD. Examine the flyer to the left of the television. Use the stencil to get the code "ARETE". Enter it in the HoloPAD to get a new email.

Butterfly 15

Watch the YouTube video "CLIENTDESOUZA VEILCORP RUSHES TAPE 001" to learn that the code is "LOTTIE03".

Butterfly 16

Play the "Papillion Alpha" stage in LittleBigPlanet. Get the custom "Xi" sticker then either reset the level or complete it. Play the stage again until you reach the floating heart. Use the "Xi" sticker on the nearby switch trigger. A signpost drops from the ceiling with the code "02044020". Start PlayStation Home and enter it as a code at the HoloPAD for the butterfly.

Butterfly 17

Complete the Street Trial puzzle to get the code "not50r40aluna" to be entered at the HoloPAD.

Butterfly 18

Enter "CANADA483" at the HoloPAD.

Butterfly 19

Complete the Expert level maze in Alpha Zone 3 with a time under 10 minutes.

Butterfly 20

Enter "3003381" at the HoloPAD.

Fragment pieces

Fragment #1

Step on the Online Gateway on the second floor and visit the AlphaAFK website. Select the first puzzle, "Odd One Out". Select the image that has not been altered (the cat and fish). Complete the puzzle to get the code "17PARIS" then go back downstairs and enter it at the HoloPAD.

Fragment #2

Step on the Online Gateway on the second floor. Log into Jess247.com using the password previously discovered. Select "Messenger" and read the messages to find references to a postcard. Look inside the "/Images/Postcard" folder to find a postcard of the Houses of Parliament in England with something missing from the scene, and an incomplete URL. The missing landmark is Big Ben. Use this fact to solve the incomplete URL as www.bigbenuk.com. Visit the bigbenuk.com website. Each postcard has a similar missing landmark, which you must enter as the answer. The first picture is missing the "Arc De Triomphe". The second picture is missing the "Taj Mahal". The third picture is missing "Hollywood". The fourth picture is missing the "Sphinx". The password for the HoloPAD is "MAGNUSMAGNUS".

Fragment #3

Use the portal in the Hub marked with a large red "1" to enter Alpha Zone 1 and access the "Game Test Area". Enter the Hexopolis and complete the six mini-games there in less than six minutes. Then, go back to the entrance and go through the right hall to the Hexopolis Game Data screen to get the fragment.

Fragment #4

Use the portal in the Hub marked with a large red "1" to enter Alpha Zone 1 and access the "Game Test Area". Enter the Maximum-Tilt room. Ride a hoverbike without crashing until you get 25,000 points to unlock the fragment.

Fragment #5

Use the portal in the Hub marked with a large red "1" to enter Alpha Zone 1 and access the "Game Test Area". Enter the Adventure Lobby. Play the retro-themed "Caverns Of The Bandit King" mini-game. The commands to complete the game and get the fragment piece are as follows.

Fragment #6

Use the portal in the Hub marked with a large red "1" to enter Alpha Zone 1 and access the "Game Test Area". Complete Hexopolis and Maximum Tilt under the expert level. Then enter the Adventure Lobby. Select the "Corrupted" expert level text adventure and complete it to learn that Miguel's birthday is 8/2/1985. Enter "08021985" at the HoloPAD get the fragment piece.

Fragment #7

Go to the open manhole in Home Square to access the maintenance tunnels. It is located to the right of the theater, near the door with the "Home" logo. Open the locker at the rear of the locker room to view a photo of a man. Note: The padlock code for the other locker is "7979" to get a card. Change your avatar to match the man in the photo (white parted hair, white eyebrows, white mustache, dark blue eyes and the green t-shirt) in order to pass the security lasers. You can then register at the terminal to enable your avatar to pass without looking like the maintenance man and get the fragment piece.

Complete Crazy Crane in the Maintenance area.

Rearrange the blocks in the Maintenance terminal.

Fragment #10

Watch the third video to get information about finding a little piece of paper and remembering the code. Look carefully at the right Listen@Home television (in the North American version), or the video wall in the first floor of the cinema (in the European version), when it flashes the logo to see "ET IN ARCADIA EGO". Go to Stapler to learn that it translates to "Even in Arcadia I exist". Enter "ETINARCADIAEGO" at the HoloPAD for the fragment piece.

Fragment #11

Use the portal to travel to Alpha Zone 2. Enter the "Light And Dark" area. There are two fish tanks; one is the "good" tank and the other is the "bad" tank. Go to the "good" tank and complete the set of mini-games. This is basically just for training. Go across the room to the "bad" tank and complete it.

Fragment #12

Use the portal to travel to Alpha Zone 2. Complete the first two mini-games.

Fragment #13

Use the portal to travel to Alpha Zone 2. Complete the next three mini-games (memorize colors of light bugs, complete puzzles in the dark, and match a shadow to a person).

Fragment #14

Use the Online Gateway to visit the Jess247.com website. Play the "Zoom" picture puzzle. There are four photos that contain hidden numbers at the following locations. Add all four numbers together to get the sum "1045", which should then be entered into the HoloPAD for the fragment.

1. Along the left side, slightly under the magnifying glass.

2. The last piece of sushi on the right, hidden in the black portion.

3. The bottom of the butterfly wing.

4. Along the left side, slightly under the magnifying glass.

Fragment #15

Complete the Elevator Circuit puzzle in Maintenance. Note: This will also allow you to use the elevator to visit Jess' apartment.

Fragment #16

Enter "CAPULET" into the HoloPAD for the fragment.

Fragment #17

At Jess' apartment, look for the hidden pairs of letters. When put together in the correct order, they will spell "EINSTEIN", which should be entered into the HoloPAD.

Fragment #18

Use the Online Gateway to visit the veilcorp.com website. Go through everything in each language. There will be one red letter for each language, spelling the word "DIANA". Enter it in the HoloPAD for the fragment.

Fragment #19

Go to Alpha Zone 3 and play the teamwork maze. There are two number pads in separate areas, with the other's PIN code scratched on it. If your pad has "5934" scratched on it, your code is "1492". If your pad has "1492" scratched on it, your code is "5934". Complete the maze to earn the fragment.

Completion

After all Fragment pieces have been collected, pass through the monolith to complete the game. Note: If you do this without completing any of the butterfly missions, you will not be able to do them; you may want to place the Alpha Zones on your favorites to revisit them later. After going through the monolith, you can choose the first option to complete the game. You can then go deeper into the White Hall. Jessica will debrief you. If all fragments and butterflies were collected, you will be given the "Perfectionist" title. You will also unlock Home Ornament rewards. Afterwards, you can use the Xi symbol to access the "Alumni Hub". The "Catch me if you can" task is completed by catching the butterfly in the Alumni Hub. The "Before you ride off into the woods, have a sit down by the 3 rings" is completed by going to Alpha Zone 1. Enter the Maximum Tilt Lobby and sit down next to the three rings used to enter the bike selection room. The "Show some respect to the stone robot" task is completed by going to the Alumni Hub and getting behind the teleport pods where Stapler was previously found. Press R1 and select the "Salute", "Bow", or "Curtsy" emote. The "Something new has appeared upstairs, do you have all the answers?" task is completed by going to where the Online Gateways were previously found to start the Alumni Puzzle. The answers are as follows.

Veilcorp interviewed candidates in how many cities? 2

Go to the entrance to the Alumni Hub and put all the numbers together to get "688824". Go to the keypad where the "deregister from Xi" box was previously found. Enter "688824" into the keypad.

Rewards

The following rewards are available after the game is completed.

Xi Trophy: Complete Xi.

Xi Alumni male and female shirts: Complete Xi and enter "688824" into the HoloPad in the Alumni Hub.

Xi Fragment Master Trophy: Have all 24 fragments.

Xi Butterfly Trophy: Have 18 butterflies for the bronze trophy, 19 butterflies for the silver trophy, or all 20 butterflies for the gold trophy.
