From GameWinners
Locations
Manchester: Backlash Grenades
Complete the game under the Easy or higher difficulty
setting, then start a new campaign. Go to the second part of the
Manchester level. Go out of the cathedral and through the hole
in the wall of the building next to it. When you enter the building,
turn left and go through the door. The Backlash Grenades are in
the room you are standing in.
Cheddar Gorge mission
When you are in the Lu-P Lynx, drive up to the bunkers
at top speed. Jump out just before you reach it, then run and
use the L23 Fareye to snipe out as many Chimera as possible. After
Cartright stops firing, take out a carbine or a Bullseye and run
into the bunker. Press the switch then collect any health you
may need. Then, jump back into the Lu-P Lynx and do the same thing
at the next bunker.
Somerset: Lawn gnome
In the beginning of the level, go out of the gate,
then to your left. Take another left at the next turn. In the
little garden area by the bench there should be a gnome.
Items
Hybrid cooling apparatus deactivation
When in the Hybrid skin, press L2 to turn off
your cooling apparatus. This enables you to sprint and see through
walls. However if you overheat, you will slowly lose health.
L11-2 Dragon with Hybrid skin
Do not use the L11-2 Dragon when in the Hybrid skin because the weapon heats up when it fires and damages the Hybrid cooling apparatus. This causes you to lose health.
Rocket control
Shoot a rocket with the rocket-launcher (R1) then use the air-brake technique (L1). The rocket will stop moving and float in mid air. Press R1 again and the rocket itself will release a dozen little mini-rockets that will automatically follow and hit nearby enemies. This is useful to kill enemies hiding behind cover.
Alternate sniper rifle
Start a Multi-player mode game with "One hit kills" activated. Use the tag on the Bullseye rifle. The tag is 100% precise, but only deals a tiny amount of damage. However with "One hit kills" activated this does not matter.
Actions
Human sprint
Quickly tap L2 button while running in any direction to sprint while in the Human skin. When running the reticule will disappear.
Co-op slow motion
In Co-op mode, have one player use the slow-motion ability with the sniper rifle. Both players will benefit from the slow motion. This is a useful technique to use if you have to kill many fast enemies.
Elevator fun
The following is a fun trick to play on a friend while in Co-op mode. Allow them get in an elevator and take off. Once they are near the top, flick the switch at the bottom of the shaft. The elevator will reverse direction and pull them back down to you.
Combat
Easy Kills
Get the shotgun and use double barrel shot. Quickly get Fareye and shoot the head. This works best against tall targets.
In co-op mode, have a player take out the Fareye and use the "hold breath" ability (secondary fire). The other player can kill enemies easily in slow-motion.
gv, bad hwttirm
Throw a backlash grenade into the open. Run into it and shots will ricochet off the forcefield fired by enemies and kill them. You can also fire at enemies without sustaining damage.
An effective way to take down any large enemy is to use the LAARK. Fire a missile and use the secondary function stop it in mid-air, a few feet from your opponent. While holding L1, hold R1 to scatter a volley of smaller rockets. If timed correctly, they should kill any large foe.
Defeating Angels
Use the same strategy as with the Widowmaker,
but you must keep moving because they throw a spear-like weapon
at you that creates harmful gas.
Defeating Chimera
Shoot a Chimera in the crotch to deal extra damage to them.
Defeating Crawler Pods
When going after Crawler Pods, put one Sapper Mine in the middle
of the pods. Use the alternate fire on the gun and it will blow
most, if not all, of them up.
If you spot a cluster of Crawler Pods, get out the
Sapper and cover them with Sapper Mines, then approach. When the
pods hatch, the mines explode instantly killing all the crawlers.
Deal with survivors, if any. by forcing them to go through a narrow
choke point (like a door) and shooting them with guns like the
carbine.
Defeating Cray Jacks
Use the shotgun.
Use the Fareye for a quick one-hit kill headshot. If they manage to get uncomfortably close, use your melee attack. When they recoil you should have a fair size window to get the shot in.
Defeating Hardfangs
Use grenades.
Defeating Howlers
The shotgun works well, but circle around them
because it takes a few shots to kill them.
Defeating Hybrids
To kill Hybrids (and Advanced Hybrids), shoot off the tubes coming
from the cooling unit on their back and into their arms. This
may be difficult, but it is well worth it when they die quickly.
Defeating Leapers
Shoot at them with the Arc Charger,
then use its Ion Burst.
Defeating Menials
Hit them with your gun. This will kill them quickly
and you do not have to waste bullets.
Defeating Rollers
Shoot at them with the Arc Charger,
then use its Ion Burst.
Defeating Slip Skulls
Use the Bullseye Tag and hit them. After
that, keep shooting.
Defeating Steel Heads
To kill Steel Heads, shoot them in the head a few times.
To kill a Steel Head, take out the sniper, use the "hold
breath" ability, and shoot it in the head. You can also dodge
the auger rounds while in slow-motion as they are relatively slow.
Defeating Titans
To kill Titans, Bullseye Tag them on their head and keep shooting.
To kill Titans easily, get behind it. Take out your shotgun and
blast away at the wires on his back. When you are behind it, it
cannot see you. You can kill it without getting hurt.
Defeating Widowmakers
To kill Widowmakers, tag them with the Bullseye, then find some cover and just keep shooting.
Tag cloud
Anytime during game play (Online Multiplayer, Local Multiplayer, or Campaign modes) point the target almost anywhere, fire a tag, and hold L1. The tag will hold onto whatever you marked (the ground, a shield, etc.). Shoot, and all your rounds will go to the tag forming a tag cloud. It fills up with approximately 30 Bullseye rounds. Look at an enemy and tag them. The tag cloud will home in on them, dealing extra damage. Note: This is a complicated trick to use online, but is very effective if used with the correct skill.
