Easy money
A quick way to make money without going to the trouble of stealing or fighting for it is to join a guild. When you join a guild you will have access to a number of guild halls all over
Tamriel. It seems that the guild has no problem sharing their wealth. You can pick up nearly any item in the various guilds without making it a crime, and without labeling your items as
stolen. By doing this you can just loot the guild halls and sell them to the closest merchant for an easy profit. It is not very ethical but quite effective.
When you defeat Caminalda on the Anvil Recommendation quest for the mages guild, search her body for gold and her room key for the inn. Use her room key on the upper door in the inn. You will find a treasure chest in the back of the room. Open the unlocked chest to get all of the gold that is inside.
Use the following trick to easily complete the "independent thievery" requirements and get easy gold. Get a very valuable item such as the skeleton key (from the Nocturnal Daedric Shrine quest). Use the "Duplicate items" glitch. Go to any merchant and sell the duplicates. If you sell the items to a Thieves Guild fence, you should have the required amount for most of the remaining quests in no time.
In the Castle Bruma Servants Quarters is a basket containing 1,000 gold.
When trying to get money very fast, join the guilds (mage and fighter). Take all of the items in the guild. You can then sell them to a trader. Make sure that the trader likes you so that
you can get more gold per item. This allows you to buy a house immediately so that you can store your items and armor without weight issues.
Jason Klein.
The easiest way to get a lot of money is to complete all of the Arena quests. You should have enough to buy a very good weapon.
Go to the Mages Guild in Chorrol. Once inside, join the guild if you have not already. Now, look around. There is a display case table either hard or very hard on the first floor that has what looks like a glowing white dot inside. Break into that display case. Because you are already in the Mages Guild you can take whatever you want. Take the glowing white dot. It
is a flawless diamond worth 100 gold with a weight of 0.1. Use the "Duplicate item" glitch on it until you have as many as you wish to sell. If you have any strength at all, you
will be able to carry around 50,000 gold worth at least. Go to any jewelry or weapons shop and sell them. You can have around 100,000 gold in about ten minutes. Note: Make sure not to sell
your last diamond, as you may not be able to buy it back to get more money.
Steal as much as you can from any store or person until you are over encumbered. When this happens, leave all the items that made you over encumbered in a specific location that you can return to later. After that, you take all of the stolen goods that are not making you over encumbered and sell them. After doing so, go back to the place where you left the other items. Pick them up then sell those items. After doing this about ten times you should have 4,000 to 5,000 gold.
PC Go to the arena and bet as much as you can with the elf at the door on whomever you wish. Note: Betting on the blue contestent is best for this. Enter the spectator's booth and walk to the the railing. Enable the kill code and click on the yellow contestant . When he or she dies, just walk outside and collect your winnings. You can repeat this as many times as desired.
To gain easy levels and get a reliable an easy source of money at the beginning of the game, pick up every food item in crates in every city. Make potions out of them and sell them to the shopkeepers that like you. Things like rat meat that have negative effects on you, like drain fatigue, can only be mixed with other things that have negative effects to make a poison. It appears green on your inventory screen and can be applied to a weapon to give it the effect of the poison. Anything that has positive effects on you appears blue in your inventory screen. This includes anything from health, magicka, fatigue, or even fortify and skill or attribute. More effects will be unlocked on every ingredient the higher your alchemy skill and the more equipment used to make the potion or poison. For example, mortar and pestle (required), alembic, calcinator, and retort (which are not required but will make the effects more potent and worth more). There is a mortar and pestle in the Imperial Sewers to start Alchemy training early.
Go through the Mages Guild quest line and obtain the Staff of Worms. Kill an NPC that has a lot of loot and/or gold oits corpse. Use the Staff of Worms on that NPC in a secluded area (so that the guards do not attack it for being "undead"), and kill it. It will not attack you no matter how many times you hit it; do not worry about them killing you. When it is dead again (whether killed or the thirty seconds expire), all the loot that was on its corpse at the beginning of the game (not things you reverse pickpocketed) will reappear. This trick will not always work on weapons and shields, because NPCs are often disarmed when they die. However, simply putting the weapon and shield on its corpse as you would a container and trying again will eventually do the trick. Make sure not to use side power attacks or disintegrate weapon spells.
Complete The Thieves Guild quests to get the Grey Cowl from the Grey Fox. You will also need to get all of the recommendations from the Mages Guilds around Cyrodill. After you have completed both of those tasks, go to any town with a Mages Guild. Wear the Grey Cowl and provoke all the nearby guards. Then, run into the Mages Guild and wait for them to come in after you. Next, equip a mage's robe and mage's hood. Everyone around in the Mages Guild fight the guards and kill them for you. This may also possibly end result in a few members of the Mages Guild getting killed or knocked out. After this is done, go around and search all the dead bodies. Take everything you find. You can also do this at the Arcane University in the Imperial City. Basically you can do the same thing here, but it is much easier. Equip the Grey Cowl and the guards around the university will encounter you and say that you are the Grey Fox. Afterwards, equip your mage's hood and mage's robe. If you do not have one you can get one easily here from the guards possibly killing a Mage Scholar. After you have them equipped, run toward the university. Go in either side of where the gates are found then go to the people of the Mages Guild for them to kill off the guards. Once all the killing is over, search all the dead bodies and take everything. Because you did not kill anyone, you will not charged with anything and you do not have any fines once the guards are dead. The best way to get everything sold without getting any interference from guards is to go to the Bruma Castle. Sell everything at Nord Winds after you repair as much as you possible with a repair hammer. You may not be able to carry much; if so, reequip the Grey Cowl to get some points toward carrying things. To further help, get some Soul Gems and go to Chironasium in the Archane University of the Imperial City. You can enchant your armor to have even further feather added to be able to carry more.
Non-random Sigil Stones
While in Sigillum Sanguis (the Sigil Keep at the top
of an Oblivion Citadel), save the game while standing in front
of the Sigil Stone. If the effects of the stone you get are not
to your liking, load from the point before you grabbed it. The
Sigil Stone you get is chosen at random upon removing it.
Making Black Soul Gems
You need an empty Grand Soul Gem and a Soultrap spell.
Take these to any of the four Necromancer lairs. There will be
an altar which will only be active one day of the week. You may
need to wait up to six game days. Place your gem on the altar
when it is active and cast Soul Trap on it. You will now have
a Black Soul Gem. These are used for capturing the souls of NPCs.
One is also required for one of the Daedric Quests as a tribute
to the shrine.
Save lockpicks
When you are going on a mission for the Theives Guild,
it is much easier to steal keys for all the doors from immobile
gaurds (or the owners of the building of the place you are robbing)
after you have leveled up your Sneak skill with the "Easy
Sneak level" trick. After you steal the keys you can open
nearly every key for the building you are in.
Easy lockpicking
While unlocking a door, press Up on a key, then immediately pause game play afterwards. Look at the tab you raised up. If it is mostly up and about to reach the top, resume the game and do it again. If it is mostly half-way or mostly down, resume the game and immediately press X
PlayStation3 or A
Xbox 360 . You should have that tab done. Continue on with the next tab. This might require a few attempts, but after you have done it once it should be easy.
You can open locks more effectively if you listen closely to the sounds of the clicks the tumblers make when you hit them. Try hitting them when they click twice.
To break into a house or chest easier, pay attention to the speed of the tumblers when they drop. If you try after the tumbler fell fast, you will have a much better chance of keeping the tumbler up.
The Skeleton Key is an unbreakable lockpick that also fortifies your "Lockpick" skill. To get this item, perform a simple task for Nocturnal, a Daedric Lord. To activate this quest, go to the Leyawyn/Bravil area. Open your map. There should be a river running vertically down your map. Look just east of the river
and find the black line on your map. Follow this road north and keep checking your compass on either side of the road for the "shrine" marker. You must be at least level 10 to do this quest.
ilyorg pwuesyv dtvwr
Get into the university. Obtain a basic "Open Lock" spell and train your alteration. Then make the spell of the maximum possible strength.

Unlimited arrows
For an unlimited source of iron arrows, go to the Bloodworks in the arena. One of the gladiators is practicing with his bow on a target. Stand close by. When there are five to ten arrows in the target, take them before he does. He will just continue shooting when you move out of the way. This is an unlimited source of iron arrows, which can be sold to almost any merchant and therefore also makes an unlimited source of gold.
When you are at the Inn of Ill Omen, go outside where the man is practicing his archery. He is using steel arrows. Go in front of him and pick up the arrows. He will not hit you. He will wait until you move out of his way. You will not get into trouble with the guards. You can do this as many times as desired.
Go to Cheydinhal and break into Bazur gro-Gharz's house. When you kill him, search his body. He will have unlimited steel arrows.
Find an enemy archer that fires the type of arrows you want. Get up against a wall and let him keep firing at you while you jump up in the air dodging the arrows. The arrows will hit the wall and fall to the ground. Collect the arrows from the ground before they disappear. You can keep doing this until your opponent's bow breaks and he or she attacks. However before that happens you should be able to get 250 to 300 arrows. Note: If you get too close to the archer, he or she will attack you with a melee weapon. You should either run around until he or she pulls out a bow or kill him or her and move on.
PC Enable the tgm code. For an unlimited source of iron arrows, go to the Bloodworks in the arena. One of the gladiators is practicing with his bow on a target. Stand close
by. When there are five to ten arrows in the target, take them before he does. He will just continue shooting when you move out of the way. This is an unlimited source of iron arrows, which can be sold to almost any merchant and therefore also makes an unlimited source of gold.
Bloodgrass
Once the main quest is completed and you cannot acquire fresh Bloodgrass, if you still have not done Boetha's Shrine quest then there is still one Oblivion gate remaining. Offer a Deadric Heart at his shrine and he will send you into a tournament in Oblivion. Bloodgrass can be found here.
Boots of Springheel Jak
Complete all the Thieves Guild quests until you get to the last one. The Gray Fox gives you the boots for an unknown reason. The reason is to fall down a fireplace without dying. If you are a high enough level, or have other strong boots, you will not die from this fall. Just as you are falling, take off the boots and put on your best pair. If you wear the boots of Springheel Jak and land, they will break and are unrepairable. If you are strong enough, you will not die from the fall and can keep these incredible boots which increase your acrobatics by 50.
Fin Gleam helmet
- Open your map and make your way to the small dark colored island near Anvil. On it is a little boulder near the edge facing out into the sea. Once you find it, jump straight out into the water then swim straight down. It is recommended that you use a water breathing spell or enchanted item for this, as it is some distance down. There will be a skeleton with the Fin Gleam helmet just above it. It is an enchanted glass helmet which gives night eye, water breathing, and detects life for 20 feet.
- Travel to the horse whisperer stables in Anvil. Travel west from there to a small island . When you reach the island, go to the top of the hill. There should be a small boulder. Stand beside it then jump into the water. Use the glitch where you can see underwater as if on land. Look below you and there should be a rock formation in the pattern of a hand. The Fin Gleam helmet is between the smaller rocks and the larger boulder in the center. It will be above a skeleton. It is best to use a Water Breathing spell and equip the helmet immediately after you find it.
Fire sword and light shield
Xbox 360 Note: This requires the Fighter's Stronghold expansion. You can get a fire-based sword that gives you a fire spell and a steel shield that grants you light. Go to the training area. Go to the archery range behind the dummy. Face the wall and look to your left. Pull the right candelabra. Follow the path until you see a glowing skeleton. Kill it. Note: Bring a guard to help kill the lich. There is a very good weapon on the lich.
Gray Aegis
Use the following trick to get The Gray Aegis from the Arena combatant. Let him break his sword on you. He should put away his sword and shield. Kill him. Revive him with the Staff Of Worms. Duplicate him with the Skull Of Corruption. Kill the clone. Line the clone's dead body up so you can access his inventory and quickly save. Load the saved game and repeatedly tap [Open]. The clones inventory should open.
Grey Cowl
Go to Rindir's Staves and buy a Mage's Hood (or get another piece of weightless head gear). Enchant it with any desired effect you choose (a petty soul gem will do fine here), but it is recommended that it be a small, but beneficial enchantment because you do not want to kill the Gray Fox. Rename the enchanted hood anything that begins with two "A"s. When you get to the part of the Thieves' Guild quest line where you take contracts directly from the Gray Fox, reverse-pickpocket the weightless hood into the Gray Fox's inventory. Leave the house and wait a day. When you return, he should have equipped the hood. NPCs usually equip the first item per apparel slot in their inventory, which is usually listed alphabetically. Gray Fox is such an NPC. This will leave the Gray Cowl open for pick pocketing. You will get expelled from the guild, but as long as you wear the Gray Cowl when talking to any guild members, they will not notice.
Katana
- Use the following trick to get a Katana and to also easily join the Brotherhood Of Evil. When you get out of the sewers after the emperor's assassination, go west to reach his heir. When you get there, talk to him. Give him the necklace, then talk to him again and select "Assistance". He will then unlock his chest so you can take what you want. Make sure you get the new iron armor instead of the old things, the steel claymore, steel bow, and some potions. Also, make sure you are healed and have your Magika full. Then, start to beat up the monk climbing up and down the stairs with your Claymore. Run outside immediately after that. Take out your bow and wait until he comes out. Repeatedly shoot and slash him while healing and he will fall to his death. A message will appear stating than an unknown force has spotted your kill (or something similar to that effect). It is not the guards or a secret force that will kill you. Pick up the monk's weapon, which happens to be a strong Katana. Then, go back into the building and go to sleep. You should awake to a man in a black hood. He is part of the Brotherhood. Talk to him, and he will eventually give you an initiation mission to become part of the Brotherhood. He will also give you a nice dagger.
- Instead of killing Jauffre as he is a main character, simply fight with him then collect Martin. When you bring him to the Cloud Ruler temple, accept Jauffre's offer to join the Blades. You will now have access to their armory located in the east wing, directly to the left of the door. Inside you will find a supply of Blades Cuirass, Greaves, Gauntlets, Boots, and Helmets; as well as several steel bows, steel arrows, the Akivari Katana, and the Akivari Dai Katana (two handed).
Keep the Staff of Everscamp and enchant it into a weapon
Go to Leyawin and ask a someone about rumors. They
should say something about dealing with Rosentia Gallenus. Go
to her house. When you entree you should see some Scamps. Do not
kill them as they will respawn almost instantly. Talk to her and
she will explain the Scamps. Follow the quest until you get at
the shrine and must drop the Staff of Everscamp. Kill one of the
Everscamps in the shrine room, go to loot his body, and place
the staff on his body. A message will appear, telling you to return
to Rosentia Gallenus and tell her what happened. Loot the body
of the Scamp and take back the Staff of Everscamp. If you just
drop it near the shrine the game will not allow you to pick it
back up. The Scamps should not follow if you fast travel. When
you return to Rosentia Gallenus, she will give you the Ring of
Eidolon's Edge, with leveled Block and Blade enchantments. To
turn your blank staff into a weapon you either need access to
the Arcane University, or own Frostcraig Spire. Just enchant it
like any other weapon. If you need a Grand Soul Gem or better
enchantments there is one inside the Arch-Mage's Lobby in a five
tumbler display case.
Shadowmere
You can buy various types of horses. In fact, you even get a free Paint Horse just after the beginning at Weynon Priory. This is the weakest and slowest horse of them all. Do not buy
any other horse because they can be expensive when you are starting out. You can get a horse that is better than all of them for free. This is Shadowmere. You can get him after completing the Dark Brotherhood quest "The Purification", which is the first quest you get when you start working for Lachance. Simply kill an innocent person (preferably a beggar if you are not part of the Thieves Guild) and sleep so that you may begin the Dark Brotherhood quests. After a few you will get Shadowmere. He is very fast and has a sizable amount of HP. Shadowmere is black/purple, wears a skull on his forehead, has a bloody hand print on the sides of his saddle, and red eyes that glow occasionally at night. He also helps you in battle if you fight near him. Best of all, he cannot die or run away. He is considered an important character and will just fall unconscious if defeated then will rise again in a few seconds to join the fray. If you happen to lose him, you can go to Fort Farragut and he will be there waiting for you.
You must have completed half of the Dark Brotherhood quests when you get Shadowmere in order to do this. First, make Shadowmere go unconscious by any method. Then using any item that encumbers you too much, put all of them in Shadowmere. Wait for him to awake. Note: This does not effect Shadowmere's speed in any way. Shadowmere has unlimited item space so he will never run out. Just make him unconscious to store more items on him.
EagleStrike
Umbra Sword
Go to the Arena and get a few claymores. Then, go directly south of the Imperial Waterfront to a place called the Old Bridge. Move west and follow the road until you reach a ruin that starts with a "V". Go inside and get past the minor creatures. You will find a girl. This is Umbra. There is one broken pillar in the room. Use the bench next to it to jump on top of it, then stand at the edge. Use a ranged attack to have her start attacking you. Then, take out the claymore and just start hitting her. She has a lot of health and does a lot of damage -- do not fall off the pillar. If all goes well you will have full Ebony armor and an incredible sword without getting touched.
and
Use the following trick to get a good sword that weighs nothing. Once you reach level 20, get the mission for the Daedra Clavicus Vile. He will tell you that he wants a blade called Umbra which possesses the soul of the warrior Umbra. He tells you to go to a small settlement called Pell's Gate. Go there and follow the mission. Go to a Alyied ruin called Vindasel. In the last room you will find an Orc girl named Umbra. She is wearing a full suit of Ebony Armor and has the sword Umbra equipped. Try to sneak attack her with your most powerful weapon or spell and wear your best armor. Make sure you save the game beforehand, as she is quite powerful. After you kill her, take the sword and it will become a quest item, meaning that it weighs nothing and you cannot drop or sell it. If you give the sword to Clavicus Vile you will lose what is the best weapon and instead get a mask that fortifies your personality by 20 points. If you go back to Vile's Shrine and refuse to give the sword Umbra to him, he just gets mad and Umbra now weighs somewhere between 40 and 50 lbs. Simply keep the sword and do not complete the quest.
Use the following trick to get the Umbra sword as early as level 1. Change the difficulty setting to "Easy". Depending on how far you are into the game the harder this trick becomes. Proceed to the Imperial City Arena. If you have not done so already, go to the Bloodworks and speak with Owyn. You will be able to become an Arena combatant. Compete in the Arena until you have at least 5,650 gold. Note: Having a high Destruction skill and using the spell "Cold Touch" will get you through the Arena quickly. After thatm go to "Rhindir's Staffs" in the Imperial City's Market District. Buy the "Apothosis" staff from him. This staff does 33 Shock, 33 Fire, and 33 Frost damage and is the strongest in the game. Then, travel to the Imperial City Water Front. Travel southwest until you find a ruin called "Vindasel". Go to the bottom of Vindasel while killing a few minor creatures along the way. At the bottom you will find Umbra, a female Redguard. Equip Apothosis and attack her with it. It should kill her in one shot. Loot her body and take the Umbra sword. She is also wearing a full set of Ebony armor which is extremely valuable. You will now have the Umbra sword, which is the strongest in the game with 0 weight and an enchantment of "Soultrap 120 seconds on strike".
Unicorn
The Unicorn and be found northeast of Inn Of Ill Omen
and east of Mingo Cave at a place called Harcane's Grove. It is
protected by four Minotaurs. The easiest way to reach it is to
move west/southwest from Fort Variela, which is on the coast of
the upper Niben River. By doing this, you will see the Unicorn
before the Minotaur sees you.
and
Note: Be careful of the Minotaurs. If you start fighting them
close to the Unicorn, the Unicorn will join with them against
you, and you will not be able to mount it. Just run up to the
Unicorn, mount it, and run away. You will find the Unicorn to
be both very fast and immune to regular weapons.
Once you find the Unicorn and have gotten away, it will not accept
you as its owner (may only happen if you already have a horse).
Do not draw a weapon before it. It is strong and will kill you.
The Unicorn cannot be tamed or captured. Once you find it in the
Harcane Grove, you can ride it. However once you ride a distance
from the grove and you get off the horse, it will start walking
away and return to the Harcane Grove. It does not matter if you
approach it without a weapon or kill the minotaurs guarding it.
South of the Imperial City and across the lake is "The Green Road". Immediately after the fork on the right side is the Ill Omen Inn. South of the inn the Wayshrine Of Talos. Stand on the south side of the shrine and turn around. You should be exposed to a very hilly area. Notice the large dip in the earth from the south side of the wayshrine, called "Harcane's Grove". There are four minotaurs guarding the unicorn. Do not draw your weapon in front of the unicorn or it will attack and kill you. Instead, lure each minotaur out of the view of the unicorn, kill them, then ride off. You cannot actually tame the unicorn. Hoever if you never rode a horse or bought one, the unicorn will not immediately run away from you back to the grove. However if you fast travel anywhere the unicorn will also go there, but will begin to walk back to the grove. You can use the stables that are everywhere for the unicorn. Note: Take the unicorn to the Imperial city's stable and put him inside and watch how it reacts to the Orc woman who eats horses.
If you fight any enemy with the unicorn around, it will attack you.
Good armor
At the beginning of the game after the King's convoy
is attacked, quickly take the dead guard's katana and armor. This
will make slaughtering rats and defeat trolls a lot easier.
To get easy guard's armor or weapons, you must be able to summon
something more powerful than a basic skeleton. Get close to some
guards and summon your creature. Then, attack your creature three
times with a weak weapon (so it will not die). Your creature will
start to attack you. The guard will start to attack the creature.
If he does not, lure your creature into attacking the guard. Your
creature will do a little damage to the guard, then die. Repeat
this process untill the guard is dead, then loot his body. Note:
The other guards will not arrest you for looting the guard's body.
Use the following trick to create invincible armor. Make a character.
Make him be born under the Sign Of The Tower. Play normally until
you are about level 20. Get five Grand Soul Gems and fill each
one with a Grand Soul. Get a curaiss, boots, greaves, a helmet,
and gloves. Enchant it all with your Grand Soul Gems with reflect
damage. Nobody will be able to hurt you. In fact, they will get
hurt if they attack. Only mages and archers will be able to stop
you, but they are easier to deal with.
Good weapon
Fill a Black Soul Gem with a Human Soul. Take a weapon that is not already enchanted and give it shock damage, fire damage, or frost damage. Then, give it weaknes to whatever damage you
just gave it. When you swing the first time, it will do the fire, frost, or shock damage then give them a weakness to it. The second swing will do a lot more damage.
Permanent 100% Chameleon
Make sure you have been accepted into the Arcane University (join the Mages Guild and receive recommendations from all the guild halls). This requires about 8,000 coins. You must also know any Chameleon spell (you do not necessarily need to be able to use it). If you do not have a Chameleon spell, buy one from the Praxographical Centre in the Arcane University. One of the people who works there should have one for sale. You also need to have about five to seven pieces of ordinary clothing (for example, rings, necklaces, shirts, shoes, pants, gloves, hoods). Make sure they are not enchanted. Also, make sure you are able to wear all of these items at once. The only thing you should get two of is rings. You also need as many Soul Gems as you have clothing items. Make sure the Soul Gems are full. Do not get Petty, Lesser or Common Soul Gems. Greater and/or Grand Soul Gems work the best. You can mix the Soul Gems (for example, two Grand and four Greater or one Grand and five Greater). You can buy Soul Gems from the Mystics Emporium in the Imperial City Market District. If you have all of these requirements you are now able to make a Chameleon outfit. Go to the Chironasium in the Arcane University and enchant your clothes with Chameleon. If you use a Greater Soul Gem you will get 17% Chameleon on one clothing item, and if you use a Grand Soul Gem you get 20% Chameleon. You can mix the Soul Gems however desired as long as they all equal 100% in the end. Enchant all your clothes with Chameleon. As they all equal 100% Chameleon you will be that way until you take off the outfit. You can take off the outfit and put it back on as many times as desired. If you create this outfit that the game will become incredibly easy. For example, if you are doing a Thieves Guild quest, just put on this outfit and no one will be able to see you. If you are in an extremely difficult battle, put on the outfit and no one will be able to attack you. Just sneak attack them all for an easy victory. This trick can be repeated with many other things, such as shield. You will be 100% shielded from damage. Or try fire resist, frost resist, shock resist, etc.
Getting weapons from summoned creatures
To get a weapon from a summoned creature, summon it
then use a disintegrate weapon spell on it.
Nirnroot
To find the plant Nirnroot easier, find a body of water
(in a city or out in the world). Travel along the edge of the
water. Nirnroot tends to grow very close to rocks, usually when
two or more are set directly next to each other. Because the Nirnroot
likes to grow in shady areas, it can also be found in locations
like under bridges or next to statues. However, for the most part
you will find it right up against rocks shielding it from the
sun. A good place to start would be to go to Weye (just outside
the Imperial City) and travel around the river/moat that surrounds
the city.
Instead of wandering all around Cyrodyl looking for
Nirnroot, just put it in the ingredients duplicate chest that you
get when you finish the Mage's Guild.
Nocturnal's Cowl
After you complete the last quest of the Thieves Guild, the Gray Fox will give you the promotion of Guild Master, and the Nocturnal's Cowl. The Nocturnal's Cowl will let you see living
things as energy even through walls. Note: When you equip Nocturnal's Cowl, you are the Gray Fox -- when guards see you they will try to arrest you. Nocturnal's Cowl also lets you carry more items and increase your Sneaking skill.
When wearing the cowl your bounty is 500 less whatever bounty your character already has. For example, if you have not committed crimes with the cowl on and your character's bounty is 50, then the Gray Fox's bounty will be 450. When wearing the cowl you are no longer who you are. You are the Gray Fox. Any felonies committed while wearing the cowl will be dismissed as soon as you take off the cowl. For example,. if you kill a person while wearing the cowl and you see the guards coming toward you, simply take off the cowl and yield to the guard. You will not have to pay any gold or go to jail. When wearing the cowl your fame is 0 and your infamy is 100. When wearing the cowl, because you are a different identity, any quests you accepted as yourself cannot be turned in as the Gray Fox and vice versa. When wearing the cowl, guards will attempt to kill you on sight.
Ring of Grey
Get a large amount of money either through a duplication
glitch or normal game play. Go to Skingrad and speak to the Orc
butler in the castle. You may need to raise his disposition first.
Buy the empty house from him. Next, go to Colovian Traders and
buy the upgrades for the house. You may not need every one, but
you can buy them all. Go to the house. Go to the very top floor
to the master bedroom. When you enter, there will be a bed around
the corner to the left. Go around the bed and find a chest on
the floor by the wall on your right side, and a bookcase on the
back wall. Jump on the chest, and then on the bookcase. Look to
the left, and there will be a scroll on a ledge behind where the
bed is located. Read the scroll to get a riddle. Go to the very
bottom floor to what seems to be a wine cellar. There will be
a column in the middle of the room with garlic hanging from it.
If you look above it on the rafters, there is an hourglass. Pick
it up to complete the quest. You will get several precious stones,
and the Ring of Grey which has +5 to several abilities, including
Sneak, as well as Detect Life 50 ft. This will help you see where
all people are, therefore making it easier to avoid detection.
Scale Of The Rumares
Note: This trick can be used to get a good start in the game. When starting a new character, after the sewers go to Weyre (fast travel to Handy Chestnut Stables in the Imperial City and follow the path west). Start the "Go Fish" quest. Note: Do not tease him or you cannot do it. Kill all 12 Slaughterfish for his Jewel Of The Rumares (ring, water breathing, sells for over 2,000 gold). You can optionally use the duplication glitch to make multiples of the ring, then go to the market district and sell it at a shop for easy money.
Skeleton Key
Once you are level 10, you can do the Weird Shrines. This shrine gives you a lockpick key that never breaks and sets your Security to "Expert". To get it, you must go to Leyawiin south of Imperial City. Then, travel north using the right road (that does not lead to Bravil). You will find a shrine called Nocturne, where there will be some people praying. Go up and activate the shrine. The statue will talk about some thieves who stole her eye. From here you should be able to get it on your own. However if you are having some trouble, go back to Leyawiin and talk to the guard. He will tell you about Webaa-Na. You may have have encountered him before if you did the quest to become a knight-errant. Talk to both Webaa-Na and his friend. They will admit nothing. Walk away and in a little while they will start talking about trolls or something. They will stop because you are in the room. Hide and listen to them talk about it. Once you have heard them talking, they will tell you the location of the eye. It is in a cave. Go to the cave, retrieve the eye, and go back to the Nocturne Shrine. You will get the Skeleton Key, which greatly helps lockpicking because it does not break.

Default weapon
After joining the Dark Brotherhood you will obtain
the Blade Of Woe. It is classified as a quest item, and you cannot
drop it. When on quests where all your belongings are taken from
you, you will still have this dagger. Note: This does not work
in prison.
Enemy and item levels
Every enemy outside the cities and some inside will level as you level. For example, if your at level 10 and are fighting Boars outside the city, when you reach level 15 you will be fighting a Troll. The same goes for missions such the Forlorn Watchman. If you do the quest at level 10, you will fight Ghosts on the ship. If you do it at level 20, you will fight Wraiths. Do not waste time trying to level up just to beat one opponent in a quest because they could be set to always be three levels above you. This same style of progression also works with armor and weapons:

- Armor
- Fur/Iron: Level 1
- Leather/Steel: Level 13
- Chain/Dwarven: Level 16
- Mithril/Orchish: Level 110
- Elven/Ebony: Level 115
- Glass/Daedric: Level 120
- Weapons
- Iron: Level 11
- Steel: Level 12
- Silver: Level 14
- Dwarven: Level 16
- Elven: Level 19
- Glass: Level 112
- Ebony: Level 116
- Daedric: Level 120
Note: The armor and weapons usually do not appear at traders until you are two levels above them, sometimes longer. Also, any "secret" weapons such as the Umbra and the NPCs with them or wearing the "secret" armor are level locked. They will not get any more difficult because usually their levels are already about 22 to 30. However, as you become better with a blade (in the Umbra's case), the better the attack will be.
Easy house
Go to the city of Anvil and make your way to the inn.
Inside is a man whose name starts with a "B". He is
selling his grandfather's old manor. You can purchase it if you
have 5,000 gold, which is very cheap considering that most houses
are 15,000 gold and are not as good. The house (at first) is ugly
and haunted. However, after completing the quick quest the house
will be fixed up without any additional payment.
Easy items
Go into any store, but do not break in. Find a location where it is dark enough so that when you crouch down, the eye becomes see through. Then, find items laying around the store
(weapons and armor shop) and punch them into the dark corner. Crouch down and pick it up undetected. This is usefull for advancing in the Theives Guild.
If you try and kill important people (for example, counts and leaders of guilds), instead of dying they will become unconscious. There is a way to use this to your advantage. Find someone important in the game. Try to kill that person in one shot (a power attack with a sword is recommended). They will fall unconscious. Once they are down, immediately go into sneak mode and keep pressing X PlayStation3 or A Xbox 360 while aiming at them to try to steal from them. Eventually it will work. Note: Press that button as fast as possible because if you do it while they are getting up you can get caught. You will have no bounty on your head and no one disliking you any more than they did before.
After buying the house in Skingrad, go to the top floor. In the room will be a deer mantle. Jump on top of the mantle, then jump again onto the loft design in the back corner. You will find an old note that has a riddle on it which leads to a treasure.
Selling multiple items easier
Selling things one item at a time can be very time consuming, especially when you have duplicated a lot of them. To make it easier, when you sell an item and the box appears asking how many of the item you want to sell, press L1
PlayStation3 or LB
Xbox 360 to bring the counter down to one. This makes selling massive amounts of items very easy.
