Cheat Codes

Random character select

Hold Up and press Start at the character selection screen.

Unlockables

Darkseid

Successfully complete DC Story mode. Then, press R1  PlayStation3  or RB  Xbox 360   at the character selection screen.

Shao Kahn

Successfully complete Mortal Kombat Story mode. Then, press R1  PlayStation3  or RB  Xbox 360   at the character selection screen.

Alternate costumes

Press Start when choosing a person at character selection screen.

Hints

Laser energy for Dark Seid Omega eyes

Choose Dark Seid and do his Omega Laser then pause game play for about one second. When the game is resumed, Dark Seid should have his Omega eyes full of laser energy.

Golden Joker

Play as The Joker against anyone else. Get your rage bar filled up. Use it, and when you are about to lose rage, do the Funny Man trick. When you lose rage The Joker should be golden and remain that way until any attack.

Easy wins

Use a character that can teleport (Shan Tsung, Captain Marvel, or Raiden). When the enemy starts to attack, immediately teleport and attack them. The enemy must finish the attack. Teleport when they block and repeat. You can defeat most enemy attacks, except for if they go into rage.

Random character selection

Hold Up and press Start at the character selection screen.

Easy "Combo Champion" achievement

  • Use Sonya Blade and her bicycle kick. It hits for 10 kicks each time.
  • To get the achievement by doing a 10-hit combo, select The Flash. When the fight starts, press Away, Forward , Y. He should charge at your opponent and do a series of punches which gives you a 11-hit combo.

Easy "MK Arcade Champion" and "DC Arcade Champion" achievements

To get either of these achievements, you must complete the game with all characters in Arcade mode from each side. If you do not want to play as all the characters, you can simply select your favorite character and once you get to Dark Kahn, press Start and go to "Player Select". Choose a fighter that has not completed Arcade mode yet with and defeat Dark Kahn with him or her. Also it is much easier to play under the Very Easy difficulty setting so you can defeat Dark Kahn easily with the character you do not know how to play as.

Green Lantern orb transparency

With Green Lantern, perform the Orb Squeeze finisher. Notice the area of the orb is transparent. Through it you will see the original background instead of darkness.

Sub-Zero: Ultimate Icy Counter

When playing as Sub-Zero, press X(2), Down, Away, X or X(2) (Icy Counter). The game registers the opponent's knockback as an attack and can then be countered using Sub-Zero's Icy Counter. If done at the correct angle you can miss your opponent when countering and set yourself up for another move while your opponent is still frozen.

Test Your Might broken walls

Battle on any given level when you can Test Your Might. Shove the other combatant through all walls. In the same match, do the same thing again. Notice that all walls broken from the first shove (except the first and last ones) no longer show any signs of damage. Additionally, if you shove a combatant through the exact same place more than once, all "broken" walls will break again, even though there should not be anything remaining to make contact with.
