Cheat Codes

Cheat mode

Select the "Extras" option at the main menu. Select "Modify Game" option then enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. Note: Enabling a code will prevent the game from being saved. Additionally, you cannot use the solo buttons on the neck of the Stratocaster to enable the codes.

Unlock All Songs

 North America  Press Red, Yellow, Blue, Red(2), Blue(2), Red, Yellow, Blue. If using a standard controller, press Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle(2), Square(2), Circle, Triangle, Square. This code disables the earning of trophies, saving the game, and online features.

 Europe  Press Red, Blue, Yellow, Red(2), Yellow(2), Red, Blue, Yellow. If using a standard controller, press Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle(2), Triangle(2), Circle, Square, Triangle.

Select Venue Screen

Press Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow. If using a standard controller, press Square, L1(2), Square, Triangle, Square, L1(2), Square, Triangle. This code unlocks all venues and disables online features.

New Venues

 North America  Press Red(4), Yellow(4). If using a standard controller, press Circle(4), Triangle(4). This code unlocks only the venues introduced with Rock Band 2.

 Europe  Press Red(4), Blue(4). If using a standard controller, press Circle(4), Square(4).

Awesome Detection

 North America  Press Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange. If using a standard controller, press Triangle, Square, L1, Triangle, Square, L1, Triangle, Square, L1.

 Europe  Press Orange, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Yellow. If using a standard controller, press L1, Square, Triangle, L1, Square, Triangle, L1, Square, Triangle.

Stage Mode

 North America  Press Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red. If using a standard controller, press Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle. This code tweaks the game for live, public performances. It disables pausing the game, failing songs, unlocking trophies, saving the game, and online features.

 Europe  Press Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue. If using a standard controller, press Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle, Triangle, Square.

Performance Mode

Press Blue(2), Red(2), Yellow(2), Blue(2). If using a standard controller, press Square(2), Circle(2), Triangle(2), Square(2). This code removes the track display.

Breakneck Speed

Press Orange, Yellow, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue. If using a standard controller, press L1, Triangle, L1, Triangle, Square, L1(2), Square. This code increases the scroll speed of the instrument tracks.

Clear Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Join the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list.

Clear microphone: Complete the Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on the microphone.

Glowing drum set: Join the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list.

Goat head bass: Complete the Impossible Marathon 2 challenge on the bass.

Video Shoot menu

Turn on the "Select Venue Screen" option. Go to the "New Venues Only" option at the "Modify Game" menu. Start the game in Quickplay mode and choose a song. A "Video Shoot" option will sometimes appears at the top of the "Select Venue" menu. Press Up to display it. These options will be "Indie Genius Video Shoot", "High-Budget Video Shoot" or "Film Student Video Shoot". Select one of them to play with the corresponding alternate background.

Hints

Unlocking songs quickly

Select "Tour" in "Tour Challenges" mode. Complete the five decade challenges from 1960s through the 2000s. After completing the ten songs from the challenges you will unlock all other songs.

Easy singing

While playing any game mode as the singer, on certain songs that do not require any pitches and it is just a single pitch, you do not have to sing at all. The singer will do all the singing on their own without you having to sing yourself. You can sit back and relax, and get 100% each time.

Easy "Bachman-Turner Award" trophy

Go online or with friends and have two guitarists and a drummer. Make sure all players' Overdrives are filled to the maximum. Have the drummer go first and activate his. Just before his meter runs out, have the guitarist activate theirs. Just before theirs ends have the bassist activate theirs. Each player will keep it going during the duration of the song, earning as you burn overdrive. Pay attention to each others' meters. At the end of the song you will unlock the trophy.

Easy "Band Savior" trophy

Play with at least two other people. Have one band member fail two times, bring them back in, and have the other band member fail one time and bring them back.

Easy "Flawless Drumming" trophy

• If you are online, download the song "Charlene I'm Right Behind You" by Stephen and the Colberts. The drum line is simple, even under the Expert difficulty. Just practice a few times and you will unlock the trophy by no later than your fourth attempt.
  

• Download the song "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. The beat is simple but requires a lot of foot pedal at a steady pace. Practice a few times to unlock the trophy easily.

• Download and play Nirvana's "Polly" under the Expert difficulty setting. There are only three notes.
  

Easy "Flawless Groove" trophy

Have lefty flip on. Select "So Watcha Want" from the Beastie Boys. Choose the bass under the Expert difficulty setting and play the song. The song only has green notes.

Easy "Flawless Guitar Solo" trophy

• This trick is easy if you have songs from the original Rock Band transferred to Rock Band 2. If so, select "Wave Of Mutilation" from the Pixies. Play the song with the Rock Band (not the Guitar Hero) guitar. The solo is only about fifteen notes and are orange and blue. Use the solo buttons to play them.
  

• Play the song "Give it Away" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. There are three solos, and the first one is the easiest. Just play on the solo buttons from the start of the song until you get to it.
  

Easy "Flawless Singing" trophy

Go to Quick Play or Tour mode and have the microphone available. Select "So Watcha Want" by the Beastie Boys under the Expert difficulty setting. When the song starts, put the microphone up to your speaker(s) and hold it there for the duration of the song. The only thing you will have to do is yell to activate Overdrive when it appears and tap the microphone for the solo parts. At the end of the song you will have a 100% rank and gold stars. Note: Make sure your volume is loud enough. Note: For just a gold star, select "Give It Away" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and do the same thing. You will get a 99% rank without singing. If you want a 100% rank on that song you must be able to hit the last phrase in the song.

Easy "Million Point Club" trophy

Select "Foreplay/Longtime" by Boston. Two players must be able to play under the Expert difficulty setting and one player on at least the Medium difficulty setting. Finish the song with at least 97% each and you will have well over a million points

Easy "Victory" trophy

Select Score Duel or Tug Of War mode. Plug in a second instrument and just play one. You will unlock the trophy just for winning.

Trophies

Complete the following tasks to unlock PlayStation3 trophy rewards.

Fill Me In (Bronze): Completed all fills at 60BPM or higher, or half of the fills at 140BPM or higher.

Fill Legend (Bronze): Completed all fills at 100BPM or higher, or half of the fills at 180BPM or higher.

The Beat Goes On (Bronze): Completed all beats at 100BPM or higher, or half of the beats at 180BPM or higher.

Beat It! (Bronze): Completed all beats at 60BPM or higher, or half of the beats at 140BPM or higher.

Challenge Novice (Bronze): Completed either 25 Challenges on Medium, 10 Challenges on Hard, or 5 Challenges on Expert.

Challenge Master (Bronze): Completed either 25 Challenges on Hard, or 10 Challenges on Expert.

The Final Countdown (Bronze): Unlock an Impossible Challenge.

Along for the Ride (Bronze): Beat an instrument-specific challenge while playing another instrument.

Groove Assassin (Bronze): Beat the Impossible Bass Challenge.

Eastern European Performer (Bronze): Played a set in Eastern Europe.

World Tourer (Bronze): Played in every venue in the world.

Western Europe Performer (Bronze): Played a set in Western Europe.

East Coast Performer (Bronze): Played a set on the East Coast of North America.

Heartland Performer (Bronze): Played a set in Middle America.

God Save the Band (Bronze): Played a set in the United Kingdom.

West Coast Performer (Bronze): Played a set on the West Coast of North America.

Got Wheels (Bronze): Won a Van in World Tour.

Open Road (Bronze): Won a Bus in World Tour.

Jet Setter (Bronze): Won a Jet in World Tour.

Worldwide Sensation (Bronze): Gained the ability to play around the world.

Overdrive Overdose (Bronze): Achieved an 8x Band Multiplier.

Clothes to the Edge (Bronze): Bought over $100,000 worth of items from the Rock Shop.

Needs more Umlauts! (Bronze): Made a band logo.

The San Dimas 4th Annual Award (Bronze): Competed in a Battle of the Bands event.

You're Hired! (Bronze): Hired a staff member.

You Killed the Radio Star (Bronze): Made a music video in World Tour.

Hello Cleveland! (Bronze): Deployed Vocal Overdrive 4 times in a single song.

Band Savior (Bronze): Was a savior 3 times during a single song.

Comeback Kid (Bronze): Defeated the last player that defeated you in either Score Duel or Tug of War.

Victory! (Bronze): Defeated a player in either Score Duel or Tug of War.

Flawless Fretwork (Bronze): Scored 100% notes hit as a guitarist on Expert.

Flawless Drumming (Bronze): Scored 100% notes hit as a drummer on Expert.

Flawless Singing (Bronze): Scored a 100% rating as a vocalist on Expert.

Flawless Groove (Bronze): Scored 100% notes hit as a bassist, up-strums only, on Expert.

Flawless Guitar Solo (Bronze): 100% on a guitar solo on Expert, using only the solo buttons.

Glitches

Male singer with a female voice

Go to either Quickplay or Tour mode. Make a setlist or choose an already made setlist that you are sure will have a male singing and a female singing. Select either the drums, bass, or guitar. When you play on the stage, if a male vocalist is up there, he will remain there for the rest of the setlist, and vice versa with the females.
