Hints

Easy points

To get more points for Sonic the Werehog (Dark Sonic), just destroy everything you can find. Look at the lower right of the screen to point yourself in the direction where hidden objects are located.

Defeating Beetle

When battling Dr. Eggman's first robot, Beetle, collect the coins so you can dash him when he tries to pincer you. This fight consists of him releasing three boxes from a distance (just run around them), then moving in close to pincer you. Jump then dash in to him when this happens. Once he is down to a certain point of health, a side view will appear. He will start on the right-hand side and fire three missiles. The pattern of how they come at you depends on how their engines fire up; watch closely. He will then move to the middle of the screen. He will pincer attack once or twice. Just dodge them. Finally he will move to your right again and try to pincer you. Jump, then look for the homing target and give it to him.

Defeating Dark Gaia

  • You will first play as the Gaia Colossus against Dark Gaia. When Dark Gaia opens his hands quickly hit him with two hands, or let him swing his arms and dodge them, giving you a chance to hit him with a normal punch until you finish him off. Next you will play as normal Sonic. Start running through the Gaia Colossus and dodge Dark Gaia's tentacles and bullets. Run to the Speed Dash and hit the correct combination. You must do this three times, each time for one eye. The levels get more difficult, so be careful. Finally you will play as Super Sonic. Start collecting rings and attack Complete Dark Gaia's eyes (seven in total). You will need at least eleven rings to attack an eye. Keep track of your ring count. Start hitting the side eyes and dodging the rocks that are ahead, which get harder by the eye, until he opens his middle eye. Attack the eye, look all around for flying rocks, and hit the last eye. The score is an "S" or "C", so watch your time.
  • Use the following trick to dodge Complete Gaia's six hand attack. When playing as Super Sonic in the final showdown against Dark Gaia, when he has all his small eyes open he will try to slash you. A short time later he will get mad and attack with all six claws. It is possible to dodge this attack. Go just under the big eye in the middle of the slash. There is a small square you can fit in. You will not get any damage. However if you get slashed you will lose all your rings and fall into the lava.

Defeating Dark Gaia Phoenix

When the fight begins, the Boss will fire feather arrows at you. Dodge them, then quickly determine the Boss's next location to attack. Follow it there and jump on the platform (pillar-type structure with a water barrel) nearby. To defeat this Boss, wait until it is done attacking then pick up a water barrel. Throw it directly at the Boss when it hovers around the platform. Next, the Boss will fly to the center of the battle arena. This is your opportunity to attack it while it rests. When done attacking, repeat the process until it is defeated. The Boss will be more resistant to the water barrels the more it is attacked.

Defeating Dark Guardian

Wii  This is a fairly easy fight, although the damage received is moderate. Start by continuously charging at the Boss and attacking him. Then, do a double jump when he swings his axe-type weapon. This will daze Sonic, leaving an opportunity for the Boss to attack and inflict a heavy amount of damage. The Boss might occasionally teleport across the battlefield to make a series of unusual attacks. First, it will summon lightning to surround itself. Then it will charge at you, causing a chain of attacks involving moving the Wiimote and Nunchuk Up and Down five or more times.

Defeating Dark Moray

This is a difficult battle if Sonic is not upgraded properly. Follow and repeat the following three steps in order to defeat this boss. First, destroy the purple light powering the force field around the Boss. Second, attack him directly and rapidly until he drops frozen nitrogen tubes. Finally, use the nitrogen tubes by picking them up and throwing them at the Boss and freezing it; this creates a perfect opportunity to attack it.

Defeating the Egg Dragon

The Egg Dragon is fairly easy to defeat. When he shoots ice balls at you, run away from them. When he shoots fire balls at you, also jump or run away from them. When he comes in close to the rock field, jump and slice his power core (the light on his chest). Keep hitting it, then when he swings his sword later in the fight, double jump and you will avoid it. Finally when he stabs the ground, jump.

Defeating aerial enemies

When fighting aerial enemies as Sonic the Werehog (Dark Sonic), jump and attack once to bring them down. Then, unleash your fury on them.

Getting unlockables

Always talk to the townsfolk/villagers more than once. They might have an unlockable item for you.

Mazuri: Forgetful man

There is also a person in Mazuri who forgets what he eats at the guard tower. He will say that he loves the chocolate that Chip gives him in the day, but at night he will say that he has never ate chocolate before, even if you change the time of day in Mazuri.

Easy "S" rank on Day Stages

There are always shortcuts in Day stages to help you get to the goal faster when compared to the normal route. You may miss many items in the Day stages if you take every shortcut to the goal.

Upgrading Sonic

Gain points from destroying objects (capsules, jars, or pots) and defeating creatures and Bosses (1,000 points each time a boss is defeated).

Music

When you talk to townspeople or tribes, they will only give you music from the town. The kids are usually the ones that give you the music.

Quick start

During a day level, swing the Wiimote during the starting countdown between "1" and "Go". If done correctly, Sonic will start with a Spindash boost.
