Hints
Easy money
- Once you reach the Pro level, do the speed race called "170 mph in heavy traffic". When you start, go to the opposite side of the freeway, so you are going with traffic. Once you finish, do not press A. Keep re-trying until you reach your desired limit. Note: A fast car (over 190 mph) is recommended.
- Go into your Achievements screen and check what you need. Try purchasing cars such as three Fords, three Aston-Martins, etc. You will know what cars you need by looking in the purchases area of your achievements. To gain enough money to buy the cars, keep repeating the 170 mph race. Once you have completed enough achievements to become a champion, repeat the Alfa Challenge in the Competezione car that should cost you nothing. You will receive $75,000 for each win.
- Go to the bottom of the map by the crater. There is a speed challenge there that awards $40,000. A C-Class car is required (TVR Sagaris recommended). You can do it in about 1:30 to 2 minutes and get $40,000, which results in about $1,200,000 after one hour.
- Once you reach the "Champion" rank, get $305,000 and buy the Farboud Supercharged GTS Prototype at the northern region of the map, in the McLaren-Noble-Ascari-Farboud dealership. Then go to its tuning shop, in the eastern part of the island along the shore. Buy the best mods for it. In the city east of the southern airport (where you started and where most of everything is found), there is a speed race called 180 mph Downtown. Start it with the car. Immediately turn around when you start. There are no cameras to pass. Simply reach 180 mph and press A to finish. With the upgrades, if you do not hit any cars you should get to the speed in about 20 seconds. Repeat this for another easy $75,000. This can result in about $1,000,000 in less than eight minutes.
- Once you get to "Champion" rank, complete the Tour Of The Island race if you have not already done so. After completing the Tour Of The Island race, you will get the Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione. There is a race on the main highway called "Alfa Romeo Day". Every car in this race will be an F class Alfa Romeo while you will have the C class Alfa Romeo. The race is about 2.8 miles long on a near straight-a-way. You will earn $75,000 for the race.
- Once you are at "Champion" rank, do the "Alfa Romeo Day" race. Use the Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione. Everyone else will have different slower cars. The race is on the highway with no cars and is only 2.8 miles long. It is worth $75,000. Keep repeating this for easy money.
- Find the highway and go to a spot near but not too close to an intersection. Find a racer and get them to have a Instant Challenge with you. Set the finish line just behind the start line on the opposite side of the highway. Once the race starts immediately turn over the center of the highway and drive past the finish line. Do this five or ten times then do a race that is worth about $20,000. You will get a lot of money for the win. Note: This does not always work.
- Once you reach the Expert level, there is an easy race called "Lucky Day". It only lasts about two minutes and results in $40,000 every time. Try using the Kawasaki Ninja ($14,000) with the stage 3 tuning package ($25,000).
- After reaching champion level, buy a Ford GT and level 3 upgrades for it. On the southwest side of the island is a race called Ford Day. It is only about 1.7 or 1.9 miles long. If you are a skilled driver you should be able to do it in about one minute and bank $75,000 each time.
- Buy at least twelve to fifteen Ford Mustang GT Coupes. Upgrade them at the U.S. Tuner with a Stage 3 Saleen package. Put them up for sale for around $1,000,000 each. If you have enough cars up for sale, eventually the CPU players will buy them.
Police
When playing the game offline there are police which
can catch and fine you. When on Xbox Live there are still police
badges but no police around to catch you. This is useful if you
are prone to being caught.
Get anywhere in the map
You must be at least Pro level for this trick. Press
Start while in Free Drive mode. Select "Editor",
then make anything (just skip). At the map section, make a small
race that takes place wherever you need to go. Even though there
is a cross through a circle, you are off the road then.
C/D class Saleens
If you have not bought a Ford Mustang GT Coupe and
a Ford Mustang GT Convertible, do so. Take them to the U.S. Muscle
Car Tuner shop. When you get there they will ask whether you want
them tuned as a Ford or a Saleen. Press Down and select
"Saleen". The new car(s) will have a very visible sign
that says "Saleen" at the top of the windshield. They
will also be upgraded to C/D class cars.
Recommended cars for each class
- This following is a list of the best overall cars and bikes per class. Note: This is assuming you have the best performance kit for each vehicle without bringing it out of its class (mostly level 3). Note: The first vehicle to appear is the best of the class overall. Others, such as the CC8S in A-class might be a better choice for long, straightforward courses. For the A-class, the MV Agusta is better in all stats than the Kawasaki, but some prefer it because it is much cheaper than the MV Agusta and also because of its first gear being longer.
- G-class
- Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (Amazing top speed, acceleration, and handling for its class, but has to be unlocked first; has stats similar to C or B car)
- Lamborghini Muira P400SV (good top speed, 198 mph)
- Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (good handling and lack of drift; costs $3,000,000; level 3 kit $80,000)
- F-class
- Audi TT Quattro sport
- E-class
- Nissan Skyline R34 GT (Downloadable content only)
- Nissan 350Z NISMO S-Tune
- Audi S4 Cabriolet

- Ford GT (best for acceleration and braking power; same top speed as Dodge Viper SRT-10)
- Dodge Viper SRT-10 (slightly better handling than Ford GT)
- Farboud Supercharged GTS Prototype 2005 and Jaguar XJ220 (best for top speed)
- A-class
- Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo (best for acceleration 93%; and great top speed 250mph)
- Koenigsegg CC8S (best for extremely high speed, 263+ mph)

- Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (has same handling as MV Agusta, but top speed, braking power, and acceleration are worse; $14,000; level 3 kit $25,000)
- Use the following choices.
- Best top speed
- A: McLaren F1 $1,000,000
- B: Dodge Viper SRT10 $80,000
- C: TVR Tuscan $80,000
- D: Mustand GTR Concept (1.5 mill: 10 mill online,or free if you do all car missions)

- F: Alfa Romero $35,000 ???

- All time
- A: Koenigsegg CCR $595,000 (DLC)
- B: Dodge Viper SRT10 $80,000
- C: TVR Tuscan $80,000
- D: 300c SRT8
- E: Mustang GT Convertible $30,000
- F: Chevrolet SSR $40,000
- G: Lamborghini Miura
- Use the following choices.
- When doing A class racing, the Saleen S7 with stage 3 tuning 1,000 hp will hit 255 mph (drafting). However, it will not leave first gear straight off. If in a race with other A class, try the Chrysler ME-412. It does not stay in first gear unlike the Saleen S7, which does not get out of first gear unless you let go of the gas or throttle (wheelspin). Note: When doing the 160 mph in heavy traffic bottom right map, use the Saleen S7 or Chrysler ME-412 by drafting and then doing a run up.
- The best handling and accelerating car in B class racing is the Noble M400.
- The TVR Sagaris is the most fastest accelerating and trickiest car to handle in the C class.
- The best D class would be the RUF or Lamborghini Countach 25th anniversary stage 3 tuning (downloadable content).
- The best E class car in acceleration and handling is the Nissan R34 Skyline stage 3 tuning (downloadable content). For top speed and horsepower it would be the Pontiac GTO stage 3 tuning.

Glitches
Coast uphill
At the top of the map where the 180 on winding road
is found (top right), there is like a barn/houses area which is
fenced off. There is an open gate. Drive through slowly, and you
will go downhill and need to turn right. Stay near the water so
you do not lose power. If you have enough speed (over 10 mph)
you should work your way up the hill. Note: There are no walls
in the buildings. (Screenshot)
