Good start
After selecting your starter Pokemon and go home, your mom will tell you to go to Sadgem town to tell Professor Rowan what happened. Before going to town, you will have to go through a large amount of tall grass. As you go through the first patch, fight any wild Pokemon that you encounter so that your Pokemon will level up. Your Pokemon will be at level 6 to 8 by the time you get there. In the second patch, also fight any wild Pokemon encountered. In the second patch there will be a person standing in the top near the corner, Talk to him to get a free Potion. After you are shown around town after you receive your Pokedex, go to the store and buy however many Pokeballs desired. You will then have extra Pokeballs when Lucas or Dawn gives you some after one of them shows you how to catch wild Pokemon.
Hatching eggs quickly
- While still in Solaceon town, get on the far right side of the path next to the Pokemon Center. Simply ride your bike in the fastest gear up and down until you hit a tree or mountain and repeat. You must have done at least 400 steps each "lap" and get a egg or get one to hatch more quickly than riding elsewhere.
- Have a Pokemon with the Magma Armor or Flame Body ability in your party to hatch eggs faster.
sehdo vavuau gti dftmba,
- If you have a Pokemon egg and are waiting for it to hatch, it will hatch after 10,250 steps. The best place to get a lot of steps is in Amity Square. By doing this, you are able to collect something from the Pokemon that you are walking after every 200 steps.
- When you catch and migrate a Slugma have it in your party. All eggs in your party will hatch in half the amount of steps needed to hatch it.
- Eggs will hatch after 10,250 steps.
Evolving Pokemon by trading
- An easy way to evolve Pokemon that can only evolve by trading is to use the Global Trade Station (for example, to evolve Pokemon such as Haunter to Gengar, Monchoke to Monchamp, Kadabra to Alakazam, etc.) Fly to Jubilife City and go to the Global Trade Station. Talk to the woman at the counter, save the game, and enter. Select "Deposit" and deposit the Pokemon that you wish to evolve. Request a Pokemon that is great such as level 100 female Piplups. After you have left the Pokemon in there, to "Seek" and look for any Pokemon desired. Once you have found any Pokemon that you can trade for, trade it. After you have successfully made a trade, go to "Summary" and take back your Pokemon. As soon as they come back they will evolve, just like when someone trades them to you. This trick will work on all Pokemon that evolves by trades.
- For easy trade evolutions, you need a wireless network or a wireless hotspot. Get the Pokemon that you want to evolve though trade. Fly to Jubilife City and go towards the GTS (Global Trading Station). Enter the GTS and put up the trading Pokemon to be evolved. Make sure you ask for rare Pokemon. Seek a desired Pokemon. After finding the Pokemon and trading it, go back to the Pokemon you had. Offer to take it back and it will evolve. For example, In the GTS offer Scyther with Metal Coat. Go to seek Pokemon, put up Ditto for a Lapras, do this trade, and you now have a Lapras. Go back to the offer Scyther and take it back. The Scyther should have evolved to a Scizor.
Foreign language Pokemon from trading
If you receive a Pokemon from the GTS and it is in
a foreign language, but does not have a nickname, its name will
be changed to the language of you game when it evolves.
Trading Pokemon
To get all the starters easily you will need Honey
and be able to go to Veilstone City. It is easier if you also
have Fly. You must put the Honey on a tree and wait six to twelve
hours. When you return you may have a Munchlax. If it appears,
catch it. Note: Make sure it is a female. If one did not appear,
repeat the process until it does. Once you have the Munchlax,
evolve it (friendship). Once you have a Snorlax, put a Full Incense
on it (obtained in Veilstone City) and place it in the Daycare
with any Pokemon on its egg list (for example, Bastiodon, Sheildon,
Cranidos, Rampardos, Snover, Gible, Gabite, or Garchomp). Note:
Its egg type is "monster", so if you know any others
you can try it. When you return, you should have an egg. Hatch
it but leave the couple in the Daycare. You should have a Munchlax
hatch from the egg. Keep hatching them. Then, go to GTS in Jubilfe
City and put up the Munchlax for a trade. You can put him up for
any Pokemon but people tend to give starters for them. Note: This
also works if you have Pokemon Leaf Green or Fire Red
with a Snorlax and Pal Park available.
Finding Turnback Cave
Turnback Cave can only be found after getting the National Dex. Turnback Cave is located in Spring Path (the fourth and secret lake of Sinnoh), in Route 214. You can find the legendary Ghost/Dragon type Pokemon Giratina here. Unlike its Japanese version, Turnback Cave is actually a random generated maze, in which there are square-shaped rooms with four doors, one on each side, along with some rocks. A curiosity is that every time you enter a room, it is practically impossible to turn back to it (hence the name). There are special rooms with pillars. The goal is to pass through three of these pillars located randomly every time you enter into another room before entering into a total of thirty rooms. If you are lucky enough to pass through three of these pillars, you will find a room with a huge pillar and a wild Giratina standing in front of it in the center. Note: Be careful; it is level 70. Once you catch/defeat it, take any door from the room. It will lead you to the main room, in which you have the option of leaving the cave through the door at the south in front of the stone tablet, or to try to generate the map again to get to the room in which Giratina was found. Though Giratina will not appear again, there are rare items you can get from the room. Depending on this criteria, you get a certain item or event:
- Cross through three pillar rooms and not any other room: Reaper's Cloth (used to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir).
- Cross through three pillar rooms and any other room: Rare Bone (can be sold in the Pokemart for as much as a Nugget).
- Cross through thirty rooms in total without achieving to cross through three pillar rooms: Get to the starting room.
- Inside Turnback Cave, you can randomly find Pokemon between level 40 and 60.
See ghosts in the Old Chateau
Go to the Old Chateau, which is located in Eterna Forest
at the top near Eterna City. You will need to use Cut to reach
it. Once inside, go through the door on the ground floor, which
is directly ahead of you. In there is a dining room. You should
see the ghost of an old man walk past the table to the left, towards
the kitchen. Once he has left your screen, you can move again.
If you go to the kitchen, he is not there. To see him again, or
if he was not there the first time, keep exiting and re-entering
the room until he appears. To see the other ghost, which is a
little girl, you must go back to the main hall. Go upstairs and
through the door in the center (in the same place as the dining
room door, but a floor up). This room is a landing with five doors.
Go through the door next to the door on the far right. If there
is a picture in the room with red eyes on it, it is the correct
location. You will be able to see a ghost of a girl in the room
next to you (which can be seen from where you are). She will look
around and float out the door. When you go back onto the landing,
she is not there. You also will not be able to see her if you
go into her room. As before, if she did not appear the first time
or you want to see her again, keep re-entering to room until she
appears. You can also find an item exclusive to the Old Chateau,
which is "Old Gateau". It heals all status problems
of a Pokemon. It can be found in one of the bins on the ground
floor.
Accessing Pal Park
Get the National Dex to access Pal Park on Route 221.
Getting through the Solaceon Ruins:
In order to get to the bottom of the Solaceon Ruins quickly, take the stairs in the following order starting as soon as you walk in: Top right, lower left, top right, top left, top left, lower left.
Surfacing from underground
If someone is in your Secret Base and you are about
to go back up to the surface, tell them first. If you go back
up to the surface when someone else is in your Secret Base, it
takes them back to the menu of the game, and they will lose all
of the progress they made.

Easy experience
- Spend your money on any desired item. Go to the Pokemon League and keep fighting the Elite Four until you lose. You will have gained, then lost a small amount of money but your Pokemon might have leveled up. If not, level up. You can buy a lot of Revives and Potions to use to get to the last of the Elite Four and they might just be level up.
- Go to any Pokemart and spend as much money as you can. Then, go to the Elite Four. Fight them. You can win or lose because you do not have much money to give them. However, you must have at least some money with you. Repeat this as many times as desired to gain experience. Note: Do not do this if you are trying to save money.
- Use the following trick to train Pokemon without using a Pokecenter. Go to Iron Island. Enter a cave and look for a lift. Go down, then go to the left exit. You will see a trainer in blue called Riley. He will group with you and make sure all your Pokemon are healed, revived, and that their PP is maxed after each fight. You can leave and get more Pokemon you want to train and he will still be waiting there. By doing this, you will get twice as much experience (by fighting two Pokemon at once) and save lots of money and time healing. Wild Pokemon are about level 30, so you can only go so far before it takes a long time to reach another level.
- Use the following trick to level up weak Pokemon quickly. You will need Exp Share and a strong Pokemon (preferably your strongest) to do this. Give your weak Pokemon an Exp Share and put it first in your party. Go to wherever there are as strong Pokemon but are weaker than your own strong Pokemon. For example, if your strong Pokemon is level 45, go to where there are level 40 Pokemon. Run around in the grass until a Pokemon battles you. When the battle starts, your weak Pokemon should go first. Switch to your strong Pokemon and win the battle. Your weak Pokemon will earn three times as much experience as your strong one, leveling it up much faster than normal. The stronger the wild Pokemon and your strong Pokemon are, the more experience your weak Pokemon will earn.
Easy money
In order for this trick to work, you will need the
item Luck Incense and a Pokemon that can defeat the Elite Four
easily. Give the Luck Incense to that Pokemon and defeat the Elite
Four. You will get double money if the Pokemon holding the item
switches into battle.
Easy capture
When you are throwing a Pokeball wait until it is just
above the Pokemon's head. Then, hold A. It should work
better than a regular capture.
Easy wins
This trick requires a Shedinja, a Pokemon that knows Skill Swap, and a Ghost-Dark hybrid, and can only be used in a double battle. Enter the Shedinja and the Pokemon that knows Skill Swap into battle first. Have the Pokemon that knows Skill Swap use it on Shedinja. Then, switch Shedinja out with your Ghost-Dark hybrid, and have the Pokemon who knows Skill Swap use it on your
Ghost-Dark hybrid. Because no move can deal Super Effective damage to a Ghost-Dark hybrid, using this trick to swap Shedinja's Wonderguard over to one will make it completely invincible. However, even with Wonderguard, the Ghost-Dark hybrid will only be invulnerable to attacks. This means that special conditions, recoil, etc. will still do damage to it.
Increase power during battle
Use the following trick to increase your power during a battle. Enter a double battle with a Pokemon that knows Swagger and a Pokemon holding a Persim Berry. Use Swagger on your partner's Pokemon. This will increase his attack (but also confuse him). The Persim Berry will cure his confusion while keeping his power up.
Water Pulse: Always confuse
When your Pokemon uses Water Pulse, a blue water ring shoots out and hits your foe. This requires exact timing. Just as the water ring just hits the foe, tap A and it will confuse your opponent.
Combination with Pokemon abilities
- Abilities play a large role when battling with your Pokemon. A good combo with abilities and a move set can help win a battle. For example, get an Onix with the moves Screech, Double-Edge, Slam, and Stealth Rock and the ability Rock Head. Start with Stealth Rock, then Screech to lower your opponent's Pokemon Defense. Then, hit them with either Slam or Double-Edge. Due to Rock Head, Double-Edge will not hurt Onix. For another example, have a Cloyster with Skill Link and combination with Spike Cannon and Icicle Spear do real damage. Also, having Super Sonic and Iron Defense is recommended.
- Pokemon abilities works in three different ways: Field Pokemon, Single Battle Pokemon, and Double Battle Pokemon. Single Battle Abilities like Chlorophyl work well with moves like Solar Beam and Sunny Day. Double Battle Abilities like Drizzle and Rain Dish help both Pokemon out. Field Abilities like Cute Charm increase the chance of meeting wild Pokemon and Intimidate decreases the chance of meeting Wild Pokemon.
Transferring Pokemon
When you transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green, or Emerald, they can never go back to their
original game. Do not transfer every Pokemon in the boxes you
see. Make sure you leave at least some Pokemon with high levels
and medium levels so you can still catch the strong Pokemon such
as like legendaries.
Training weak Pokemon
This trick is more effective in the beginning of game,
especially when you have to get your two first badges. First,
catch a Kricketot and train it by using Bide. After awhile, it
will evolve into a Kricketune. It will now learn new moves. Use
the same trick with Machop. It will also learn Bide. These Pokemons
are helpful when they are stronger, especially when you face the
second Gym leader (when you have chosen Piplup in the beginning).
More digging locations
In the underground, bury a large amount of spheres
in one area (for example, around your base). You will find that
the next day the walls will be full of digging locations for spheres
and treasure. Try to bury at least fifteen spheres that you do
not mind keeping buried for a long time. That will get you a huge
selection of digging spots. If you keep the spheres buried, the
walls will always be really full of treasures and spheres each
day. Note: Once you deplete the walls of digging locations there
will not be a much more in that area during the rest of the day.
Playing the Tag mini-game
While in the union room, you can play a game of tag
with anyone in there at the moment.
Pokemon Contest
In the Visual Round, always follow the theme. For example,
if the theme is "The Colorful", put in two different
colored puffs, the flag, the mustache, and the glitter. The glitter
is very important. In the Dancing Round, when you are first, try
"left" and "front" close together. Then after
a long period of time, hit "right". Two Pokemon may
miss, and the other one will do well on every move. Note: The
following requires three moves in the same category of the contest.
In the Acting Round, choose your strongest move first. Then, do
a weak move and another weak move. Use your strongest move again.
If you use a move prior to the category, such as "Sweet Kiss"
in "Cuteness", the judge you perform for will give you
Voltage unless somebody already performed for that judge. If you
are the only one who performed for a certain judge (for example,
if you performed to Dexter and everybody else performed to Keira),
you will get three hearts. If you perform for a judge that somebody
else performed for (for example, if you and another Pokemon perform
for Jordan and the others perform for Dexter and Keira), you will
only receive 1 heart. When you win, you will receive a ribbon
(not an accessory) and all of the glory.
Tricking the clock
- Because the in-game clock is in sync with your Nintendo DS and since certain events only happen every once in a while, there is a simple but not-so-obvious solution -- just adjust your DS clock. For example, the guard in the Pokemon Mansion is guarding the Bronze Statue around the clock, but he takes a break between 2 and 5 a.m. Just adjust your clock to that time and he will be gone. You can also do this to speed up berry production by jumping a few days back and forth.
- When you move the clock forwards or backwards, you cannot migrate for 24 hours after trying to migrate, even if you set the clock back.
Pokemon jump
To do this trick you must have Pokeapp 6 "Friendship
Checker". Double tap your stylus anywhere there is no Pokemon.
If done in the correct location, all the Pokemon in your party
will jump at the same time.
Polishing your Badges
Open your Trainer card menu. Open your badge case and
rub the stylus over the badges that you have won from the gym
leaders. They will become shiny after a good polishing. Also,
each badge makes a different noise, allowing you to play them
like an instrument.
and
Slow cry
When you listen to a Pokemon's cry on your Pokedex,
the bottom of the Pokeball with the lines can be tapped to slow
down the cry sound.
Mario reference
Slow down the cry of some Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex
(for example, Starly) to hear a familiar sound from Mario.
Calculator sound
Use the calculator on the Poketech. If you get an answer
to a problem it will make a sound corresponding to the number/Pokemon
in the Pokedex, but only if you have seen that Pokemon.
Microphone cures
You say certain things into the microphone to cure
your Pokemon of various statuses. You can cure Sleep by saying
"Wake up!" a few times and Confusion by saying "Snap!".
Pokemon reference
Go into the entrance-building on the right of Canalave.
Talk to the police officer there. He will say: "Boy, I sure
am thirsty..." This is most likely a reference to Pokemon
Red, Blue, and Yellow in which a police officer
in a similar building will not let you through until you get him
a drink.
Instant defrosting without an item
If you have a Pokemon on the field that is frozen and
knows a Fire-type move, use that move. The Pokemon will instantly
defrost and the move will continue as if the Pokemon was never
frozen. This trick will not work if the move fails.
