Press the Analog-stick during the loading screen that features streaks of light coming towards you to move a small twinkling star around.
Information in this section was contributed by Rockford Coward.

Save screenshots:
Place a completely empty VMU in slot 2 of a controller that is plugged into port D. A screenshot requires 195 blocks of space. Start an online or offline game. Hold A and press Start on controller D to save the current screen as a full screenshot. Hold X and press Start on controller D for a close-up shot. If done correctly, a black screen with a countdown will appear. The game will resume after the countdown, and the screenshot will be on the previously empty VMU. Go to http://pso.donut.dhs.org with the Dreamcast Planetweb browser to transfer your snapshot from your email mailbox. You also can upload your screens on Sonic Team's Official PSO Visual BBS webpage and view other screenshots.
Information in this section was contributed by Rockford Coward and Tiny [HuCast].

Save a picture: Hold X and press A on the picture.
View history: Hold X and press Y.
Bookmark current page: Hold X and press B.

Turn off pop-up info palette:
A Dreamcast Keyboard is required for this trick, to turn off the big palette that appears every time you encounter a monster. Hold [Space] during game play (try using a piece of tape or a television remote). A green cursor will appear in the lower-left side of the screen. This does several things. Whenever you encounter a monster, the lower-left side of the screen will always be clear, This also frees up more of the screen so you can see more monsters appearing from other directions. Release [Space] when you want to chat. This is useful when playing as short characters.
Information in this section was contributed by Eliot Bauers and joe blow.

Hint: Frying pan weapon:
Complete all offline quests under any difficulty setting. This will allow you to play any quest as many times as desired. Go to the "Secret Delivery" quest and find the fat man that is walking around. Talk to him and he will tell you about a secret club called "WEAPONS". After talking to him and receiving the emblem, complete the quest. You must now find four other WEAPONS members. They can be found in the following quests: "Claiming Stakes", "The Value of Money", "The Lost Bride", and "Gran Squall". Complete each quest after receiving your approval from the WEAPONS members, or your approvals will not be saved. After receiving all four approvals, return to the fat man in "Secret Delivery". He will tell you to see the Boss of WEAPONS to receive your membership. Walk towards the shops and find the woman in the corner. She is the fat man's wife. She will give you the Frying Pan as a token of your membership.
Information in this section was contributed by Barry Bonzack.

Hint: Custom made weapons:
When you are in the Ruins or Mines, sometimes rare items will appear after you defeat enemies. These items have names, such as "Delsabre's Right Arm", but have "???" as their descriptions. This indicates that these items are materials that Dr. Montague can turn into powerful weapons. When you get one of these items, make sure it is in your inventory and go to either the "Unsealed Door" or "Dr. Osto's Research" quests. You will find Dr. Montague in them. He is located in the center of Pioneer II. Talk to him and he will turn the item into a special weapon that you can use.
Information in this section was contributed by ~.Sailor Galaxy.~.

Hint: Easy experience:
Start a new game and go to the place where they give you the hunter job. Select the third choice (named battle training). In this job, you get a partner that is very strong. To get easy experience just hit all the monsters once and have him kill them with one slice. You still get 4 experience points. Before you finish the job, leave the forest, go back to the guide place, and cancel your job. Then, restart it and all the monsters and items will be back making it easy to get experience points, money, and items.
Information in this section was contributed by Anthony Freer.

The Rap Rappy birds in the Forest 1 and 2 can be shot once for experience. After a short time they will wake up and try to run. Shoot them again and they will drop an item.
Information in this section was contributed by Rockford Coward.

When in the forest level, if you are fighting against a Monest do not kill the nest. Instead, kill all the flies first. When the nest is empty use a Telepipe/Ryuker. When you return to the forest you will see that the nest is full again. This works best in hard or v. hard modes.
Information in this section was contributed by howie chan.

In "Forest Of Sorrow" mission, go to forest level 2. Move to the southeastern-most room (off the long room that is north to south, has two smaller rooms and one larger room to the east, the island in the center of the map to the west and the weather computer to the north) to find three large Hideabears. In the cubbyhole to the south-west is one small Hideabear. Every time you talk to the small Hideabear, three more large Hideabears appear in the room. Be careful, as you can get over six large Hideabears in there. Each is good for about 10 XP.
Information in this section was contributed by Jeremy Morris.

Find a Pan Arms, then equip a weapon that steals experience. Hit them when they are together. You will do no damage, so you can continue to do this for as long as needed. You get about 60 XP a minute under the normal difficulty setting.
Information in this section was contributed by Henry Soto.

If you are at level 12, go to Forest 2 and go to the Boss stage. Kill the Dragon to get about 350 XP. Keep repeating this to level up quickly.
Information in this section was contributed by Newdene.

In the Ruins Two level, you will find an enemy named "Dark Gunner." These enemies fly around in an invincible state. You cannot hurt them until they land and fire beams at you. There is a trick to gaining unlimited experience points from them. First, you will need to obtain a weapon with a special attack that can steal the enemies experience points (for example, the Double Saber). While the Dark Gunner flies around, invincible, use the extra attack feature to unleash a flurry of chain attacks. Every successful hit will score extra experience points. Make sure that you do not attack the Dark Gunner while he is unprotected.
Information in this section was contributed by HUcast13.

Hint: Maximum stats:
When you see one of your stats turn yellow, indicating you cannot raise it any more with materials, it may still go up depending on what you have equipped. Unequip everything you have on and usually the stat will go back to white, allowing you to raise it higher. This should also be done immediately before you level, since the game counts equipment that raises stats as your max stat -- if it is maxed even if the base stat is not, then it will not go higher if you level.
Information in this section was contributed by I3lackDth.

Hint: Raise photon blast gauge:
To do this trick, you must have level 4 or higher Resta or Anti and also have either Zonde or Grants. Configure your attack buttons as follows. Assign Zonde or Grants to B, then Resta to RB button and Anti to RA. Then, assign any attack tech to RX. Hold R to lock onto a friend, then release R and press B button at the same time. You will cast Zonde (or Grants) on your friend. This does not hurt your friend, but it does cause their photon blast gauge to raise.
Information in this section was contributed by Theodore Lubbe.

Hint: Saving money for Forces:
When using Force, collect items and then sell them. Buy Resta disk from the tool shop in Pioneer 2. You will not have to buy Mates. Also, instead of using Telepipes, use Ryuker. It will cost some TP but it is worth it -- it saves a ton.
Information in this section was contributed by yamato.

Hint: Entering a full server:
When you find a full server (i.e. US:Oberon Block 1 has 100 or more users), you normally cannot enter. However this can be bypassed if someone that you know (have his card) is online at the moment in the server you want to enter. Search him, go to search result, and input the command "Meet The User".
Information in this section was contributed by Snoop54.

Hint: Neutralize poison:
When poisonous plants are encountered in the caves, stand on the body of a fallen opponent and their poison cannot harm you.

Hint: Raise a friend's TP:
This trick requires level 4 or higher Resta and Reverser . Get close to your friend, then press Start to go to the Tech menu. Select "Heal" and highlight "Resta". Then, press Up + A. This tricks the game into casting Reverser on your friend, refilling his TP and HP.
Information in this section was contributed by Theodore Lubbe.

Hint: Using Photon Blast twice in a row:
Charge your Mag to 100, but do not use Photon Blast. Instead, unequip your Mag then equip it again. Your Mag's gauge will go down to 0 but you will still be able to use your Photon Blast. Charge up your mag as close to 100 as possible. If you hit 100 you will have to start over. Use your Photon Blast, then charge up the remaining to 100 and use it again.
Information in this section was contributed by dymentia.

Hint: Go through locked doors:
Equip a Double Saber or no weapon. Then, go to the farthest side of the door and move as close to the door as possible. Get as sharp of an angle as possible without moving when doing Triple Attack. After doing Triple Attack once, go towards the door that was just attacked. Get as sharp of an angle as possible, then repeat. After the second or third Triple Attack, you should be able to walk through the door. If not, try again.

Hint: Easy Ruins entry:
When you defeat Vel Opt and transport to the Ruins door, use the "Go through locked doors" trick to go to Ruins without touching the monuments.
Information in this section was contributed by Trentor02.

Hint: Easier Boss battles:
If you are having trouble with Bosses and want to avoid going through the enter level again after dying, use this trick. Use a Telepipe or the Ryuker technique at the entrance to the Boss. If you die, then you can just go over to the bank and find the teleport that you made. Go through it, and you will get back to the Boss.
Information in this section was contributed by Jon Johnson.

Hint: Find a rare monster:
Go to a stage and wait for a monster to appear. Use Telepipe and then return. If you do so, the monsters will appear again. Do this several times and you should see a rare monster.
Information in this section was contributed by Dwayn2841.

Hint: Kireek's Soul Eater:
You can do this only once per difficulty setting. To get Kireeks' Soul Eater, you need to play "Dr. Osto's Research" quest. Then, after you get the information at the end, talk to Sue. If she asks your name, say "No". After you finish that quest, go to the "Unsealed Door" quest. You will meet Sue again. Talk to her and listen to what she says. Then, complete the quest. Next, go to the Waterfall Tears. After defeating Anna, continue on to Cave 2 (same quest) and you will eventually meet Kireek. He will greet you, then you will have to fight him. After you defeat him, go to the "Black Paper" quest where he will try a rematch in Cave 1 of this quest. Note: You are in the dark in this battle. When you defeat Kireek in that battle, you will meet him again in the "From the Depths" quest. In that quest after you separate from Ash, go back to Ruins 2 (in this quest) and go as far west you can. You will confront Kireek for the final time. It is recommended that you equip some armor, shields, units that can withstand Dark/Draw/Shadow or whatever that weapon is made out of, or use Razonde (or Zonde, if that is all you have). When you defeat him you get to keep his weapon for your accomplishment.
Information in this section was contributed by William Glendening.

Hint: Defeating Pofuilly Slimes:
It takes a long time to kill a Pofuilly Slime. Instead of having to hit it once waiting for it to pop up again, use a paralyzing or freezing weapon.
Information in this section was contributed by Jon Johnson.

Hint: Avoid walking near traps and enemies:
Normally, you cannot run when near a trap or enemy. To avoid this, press Start to display the main menu. You may now run again.
Information in this section was contributed by lamb_1020002.

Hint: Get away from traps:
An easy way to get away from traps is to hold R while running through a hallway that may contain mines. To avoid hitting mines or to see them, create a HUcast Android. They can see mines and traps.
Information in this section was contributed by David Rupa.

Hint: Entering the Ruins area:
After defeating the Boss of the Mines, you will arrive in an underground cave with a blocked door with three symbols on it. These symbols correspond to the three giant pillars found throughout the previous levels. You must go back through the Forest, Caves, and Mines to activate the pillars. Each pillar is located in the second area of each zone. Once all of the pillars are active, go through the Mines again, defeat the Boss, and then walk through the newly opened door.
Information in this section was contributed by Nathan Ball.

Hint: Experience every Mag:
Build your Mag up to level 70, then for every 5 levels build him up beyond that to get a different Mag, even the ones they say you cannot have. All you have to do is build up one category for the Mag. For example, at level 70 boosted your Mind and to get Kabanda. Just work on one of the four categories only and watch what happens -- every fifth level your Mag will change by itself. If you get a Mag that you like and do not want to change, just balance out your Mag (feed all four categories evenly) and it will remain that way. Atomizers are good for this purpose.
Information in this section was contributed by Bill.

Hint: Rare Mags:
Rare Mags which are in the form of characters from NiGHTS Into Dreams, and Chao creatures from Sonic Adventure can be found in the two forests under the very hard difficulty setting.
Information in this section was contributed by Jordan Craw.

Hint: Rag Rappy items:
Attack a Rag Rappy while playing the Forest Areas and it will go down. Wait until it gets back up, and attack it again before it runs off. They will end up leaving items that they have been collecting.
Information in this section was contributed by CMinus2001.

Hint: Ice attack:
The ice attack can be used to hit multiple enemies. Getting all the enemies to chase you. Stop and back up and use the ice. It should hit the ground and hit a line of enemies.
Information in this section was contributed by G MONEY.

Hint: Avoiding Phantasy Pirates:
Phantasy Pirates are thieves. They steal your money and weapon when you die. Then run away or deny they stole it. To prevent getting caught in this position, leave your money in the bank and do not play with someone who is suspicious, acts very strangely, or exhibits stealing behavior. If you think you will die, equip a weapon that is not very valuable to you.

When you first join a team, ask everyone for their guild card. Thieves do not give away their guild card, because guild cards are a symbol of trust. If someone is constantly asks questions such as "What is your hobby?" or "Where do you live?" and there are items around, either pick up the items, then answer, or do not answer at all. If the person is acting suspicious and wants to trade with you, do not drop your money or item first -- or drop only one Meseta or a Saber +1 until you can see that their item is really the item they said it was.
Information in this section was contributed by John Ondricka and JAKEL1269.

If a thief keeps stealing people's items, get a lot of monsters after you. Then, run over to the thief and make them chase the pirate. Try to get at least ten monsters and make sure no one helps. Also make sure no one heals the pirate.
Information in this section was contributed by CyberNinja.

Hint: VMU warning:
When creating a character for the game, make sure that your VMU has been formatted (i.e. reset) at the VMU file screen for the Dreamcast. If this is not done, something can go wrong causing your character file to become corrupted, according to Sega.
Information in this section was contributed by Sean Mattia.

Hint: Overriding illegal item possession:
Use the following trick to override that new warning that Sega posts when you are carrying duplicated, grinded, and useable items (such as Trimates, Trifluids, Star Atomizers, etc.) that are maxed out past the limit. Note: The grinded items (such as Level 999 Mags, Stag Cultry +255, etc.) and useable items are not fixable. Only keep items that are legitimate and exist in the game. Keep your useable items to the limit of the maximum (10). If you get the warning, quickly quit and save the game. Go to the offline game. Deposit all weapons and armor in your bank. Just have useable items (Trimates, Trifluids, Star Atomizers, etc.) in your character's inventory. Quit and save. Log back online. Join a team or create one, pick up your items from the bank and equip them. Quit and save for the final time. Log back online and resume the game.
Information in this section was contributed by Edy.

Hint: Hacked item warning:
Do not accept hacked items. You will get a warning on the screen. Sega representatives patrol the servers, so be cautious.
Information in this section was contributed by badkidee.

Hint: Frozen game warning:
If anyone tells you to go to chat, then shortcut and type lowercase "L"s all the way across, do not do it. It will freeze your game and you will have to turn off your Dreamcast and lose everything you did.
Information in this section was contributed by dymentia.

Go online, drop an item, pull out your VMU, then turn off the Dreamcast. Return to same room and pick up duplicated Item. Note: Have a friend in the room at the time and him to pick up the first item just in case.

Hint: Section ID calculator:
First, write out the desired name (for example, "Karana"). Classes do not matter. The name will not change from HUmar to RAcaseal. Count the number of symbols in the name (numbers, letters, and signs) and note if it is even or odd (for example, Karana is even). Next, find all the letters in the following chart and change them to numbers. For example, Karana = 029252 which equals 20.

   0| A K U i s 7 # } _ -
   1| B L V j t 8 . $ ~
   2| C M W a k u 9 % /
   3| D N X b l v 0 & :
   4| E O Y c m w 1 ' ;
   5| F P Z d n x 2 ( <
   6| G Q e o y 3 ) [ =
   7| H R f p z 4 ! ? > * (spaces count as 7 also)
   8| I S g q 5 { ] +
   9| J T h r 6 " @ , ^ |

After you have a number, if it was even, add 5 to the total. For example, Karana was even, so the total is now 25. Next, cross off the first digit on your total. The second digit corresponds to the Section ID below. For example, Karana is 5, so Karana gets VIRIDIA.
Information in this section was contributed by Killer_Rappy.

0 = PINKAL
1 = REDRIA
2 = ORAN
3 = YELLOWBOZE
4 = WHITILL
5 = VIRIDIA
6 = GREENILL
7 = SKYLY
8 = BLUEFULL
9 = PURPLENUM
