Build a Legendary Sword Dojo and Legendary Palace, Amory, Sword Smith, and a Drill Dojo. With the Sword Dojo, train Kensai. They are almost invincible. Note: There is only one to a unit. Put them in a army by themselves. This will take a long time but is worth it. Once you have a army of Kensai, use them for battle. You must control them directly until the general has some honor. Simply charge the enemy and they will do the rest. After the general has honor you can automatically resolve the conflict. Sixteen Kensai can take on 2,000 troops on their own and suffer no casualties.

Hint: Recommended clan:
Your clan has a limited lifetime. The most powerful clan is the Shimazu. If you use geisha to destroy a faction make sure you are allying with them.

Hint: Yari Ashigaru:
The Yari Ashigaru is nothing more than a collection of poorly armed and thinly protected peasant warriors. They will often run from battle when confronted by a superior enemy. The Yari Ashigaru should be positioned along the flanks, out of harm's way, or stationed towards the rear to protect ranged combat units.

Hint: Guns:
Make an alliance with the Portuguese traders when they make landfall. Their arrival will allow you acquire guns for your forces and eventually build powerful gun factories.

Hint: Spying:
Spy on prospective enemies before attacking them. Send a spy or emissary into an enemy-occupied territory to determine their overall strength.

Hint: Easy wins:
In scenarios where the only objective is to eliminate enemy leaders, the objective can be completed by flooding the enemy's home territory with dozens of untrained ninjas then ordering them all to attack the enemy Daimyo. They will have about a 10% chance of success.
