Quick emerald: Press Up, Down, Up, Down,
1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 at
the Sonic/Tails selection screen to automatically receive an emerald
during level 1.
Fast run: Press Up + 1 or Up + 2.
Fireballs: Enable cheat mode. Press Down, Down/Right,
Right, 1 during game play to shoot fireballs.
Alternate ending sequence: Collect the five Chaos Emeralds and complete the game
to see a new background during the credits, with Sonic and the
Emeralds that you collected. Note: Only Sonic can get the Chaos
Emeralds.
Hint: Getting the first Emerald: Get 100 Rings and you will be sent to a special stage.
In the special stage, you will be in the sky with a rocket-powered
skyboard. To get the Emerald, stay in the middle of the screen.
You will be sent to it automatically.
