Flashback: The Quest For Identity solution
Note: Controller actions refer to the 3DO version and should
be substituted as needed.
Level 1
From Start, pick up the holocube located one screen below.
Go right and kill the first ogre.
Go left and pick up the rock and 10 credits.
Go right, let the door slide open, and kill the second ogre. Pick
up the pile.
Go down carefully, then go right, avoiding the force field and
current running through the ground. Recharge the shield and pile.
Go all the way to the left and place the pile into console (this
opens the bridge). Once your character crosses the bridge, take
the lift up and go left.
Throw the rock at the sensor so that the lift stays down. Pick
up the teleporter and the two rocks.
Take the bottom lift down and then go right again (caution: avoid
the deep drop).
Climb down, then climb down again, then jump down to the two ogres.
They may kill each other; if not, kill the survivor.
Go right and disable the force field. Pick up the rock. Kill another
ogre. Pick up 100 credits. Pick up the key. Pick up 100 credits.
Move right and kill another ogre. Pick up 500 credits.
Carefully go all the way left. Insert the key into the console
(this opens a door).
Go back over the bridge again, and go all the way to the right
where the items were recharged. When your character reaches the
upper area, go left, and kill the ogre. Go up and play with the
sensors until your character gets to the top.
Go right and talk to the injured traveler. Give him the teleporter
and pick up the ID card.
Carefully go back all the way to the left over the bridge. Go
all the way to the left, climb down and pass the ID card through
the console.
Carefully climb down. There are two ogres here. Climb down. They
may kill each other; if not kill the survivor.
There is a sensor on the right. If your character tries to walk,
it will trigger a laser beam. Duck down and roll into the next
screen.
There is an old hermit on the right who will sell the Anti-G belt
for credits. Jump down to the next level.
Level 2
Go all the way to the right and climb down to bring up the
lift.
From the middle platform, run and jump to get on top. This is
done by running (A + D-pad). After your character
starts running, release the D-pad while keeping A
pressed. When your character gets to the edge of the ledge, he
will jump automatically. (Up may also be pressed here in
other portions of the game in which there are no destination platforms
to hang on to.) Keep A pressed during the jump, and your
character will hang from upper ledge. Then, press and hold Up
to pull your character up onto the ledge.
There are two policemen here, which will shoot your character,
so kill them first. Then, talk to Ian and activate the chair.
A long animation will be begin. When it completes, talk to Ian
again. He will open the door.
Enter the door, climb down, and kill the ogre on the bottom. Pick
up the fusible.
Climb up and insert the fusible into the console. Activate the
console again to bring down the lift. Take the lift up and go
left.
Talk to the man. Open the door, bring up the lift and go down
to the train.
Activate map to get familiar with the subway system.
Take the train to the bar (America). Talk to the barman, go all
the way right and talk to Faussaire.
Go back to the train and take it to the council (Africa). Talk
to each man and give your ID card to the Governor. He will give
your character working papers.
Take the train to the job center (Europa). Talk to the man and
insert the working papers to accept mission 1. The mission may
also be reviewed, if needed.
Take the train to Asia and collect a packet from the woman.
Take this packet to Africa and give it to the man that will be
waiting. He will pay you.
Take train to job center and accept mission 2. Save your game
and recharge your shield.
Take the train to restricted area 2 (Africa). Pick up VIP
Go all the way to the right. Shoot ogre. Pick up and insert key
into console.
Go left and kill ogre.
Go left again and dispose of the two floating balls. Collect the
key on the top platform.
Go right and insert the key to open the door
Get the VIP and proceed down. He will pay your character and teleport
him to the mission room. Recharge and save your game.
Insert working papers to accept mission 3.
Take train to the bar (America). Talk to customer.
Go down to talk to policeman.
Go back behind bar and shoot the ogre. Then, talk to the man and
go back down to shoot the policeman. He will leave a key. Pick
it up and go back behind bar to open the trapdoor on the floor
and jump in.
Save your game.
Go right and shoot the two terminators. Your character will get
paid and be teleported back to mission room. Recharge and save
your game.
Insert working papers to accept mission 4.
Step into teleporter, run to the right, open floor trap and run
all the way left.
Take the lift down, run right, and jump on the top platform to
activate the lift.
Take the lift down and go right.
Insert the correct card in the right place.
Your character will get paid and be teleported to the mission
room. Recharge and save your game.
Insert working papers to accept mission 5.
Proceed to restricted area 3 (Europa, same station). Save your
game.
Shoot the ogre and go down.
Shoot a second ogre and get key
Go down and shoot a third ogre. Go left and insert key.
Go left, pick up the rock and throw it. Shoot the ogre.
Run left and jump down to shoot another ogre.
Go to top platform and activate sensor to open the door.
Climb down and roll to the right. Pick up the key and credits
Go back to the left, down, right, and down.
Kill the policeman, open the door and incinerate the flying ball.
Your character will get paid and be teleported back to the mission
room. Recharge and save your game.
Go to the bar (America ) and talk to Faussaire. Give him the credits
and collect the ID
Proceed to the death tower and give the ID to the man
Enter to start the next level.
Level 3
On 8: go right and kill the terminator. Open the door, go
back to the right, and recharge. Go left, kill the terminator,
and go to the left. Open the door and take the lift up.
On 7: Jump up and go to the left. Open the trapdoor on the floor,
go left, and kill the terminator. Activate the doors and kill
the terminator. Go left and kill the terminator. Go left, climb
up, go left and kill the terminator and the two floating balls.
Go to the left and save your game. Go left and take the lift up
On 6: go right and open the door. Roll left, climb up and go left.
Watch out for the trapdoor. Recharge, go left and kill the terminators.
Go to the left and watch out for floor mines. Take the lift up
On 5: roll left and kill the terminator. Climb up, roll right
and save your game. Go left and climb down. From the center platform,
run left and jump up to go to the left. Jump over the pits and
continue left. Take the lift up
On 4: Go right, release the terminator, and kill him. Open the
door and go right. Recharge and kill the terminator on the bottom
platform. Go right and open the door on the middle platform, go
right and open floor trap on the bottom platform, go right and
take the lift up.
On 3: Kill the terminator and go right. Kill the middle floating
ball, kill the terminator, and save your game. Kill the remaining
three balls and take the lift up
On 2: Kill the terminator, open the door, and kill the other terminator.
Take the lift up.
On 1: Kill the terminator.
An animation of a television studio will be displayed. Your character
will receive money and be launched on a space crusade to the next
level.
Level 4
Talk to Homme and give him the ID card.
Go left, kill the policeman, and go left. Kill the second policeman
(use the force field).
Go down, kill the policeman and the floating ball.
From the middle platform, go right and recharge.
Go right and kill the policeman.
Proceed right and dispose of all the policemen that appear. Go
back left and recharge if necessary.
Go right and inside. Kill the two policemen and floating ball.
Move right and call a taxi. Save your game.
Climb to the top platform. Run and jump all the way to the right
and crack the crystal.
Enter go to the right. Kill the terminator, take the lift up,
crack the crystal, and get the key.
Go all the way to the right, jump to the middle platform, then
go right again and recharge.
Go left and incinerate the robot (caution: he explodes).
Activate the console, go right, open door with the key, and take
the lift down.
Save your game. Climb up and the wall will slide away.
Take the lift down and go up. Kill the terminator on the right,
pick up the key, and go left.
Kill the two floating balls and climb up.
Go right and activate the console so that the wall slides out
of the way.
Go left and climb down.
Go right and deactivate the force field.
Go down, open the door, and recharge.
Take the lift up and go right. Note the two trapdoors on the floor.
Go right and take the lift down.
On left, run and jump to top platform to open the door
Go right, pick up the key, take the lift up, open the door and
enter.
Kill the floating ball, jump over the mine, and outrun the force
field which will
follow you.
Kill the floating ball and go to the right to enter the next level
Level 5
A terminator will open the door, however it cannot killed
since your character does not have the gun. Run right and pick
up the gun. Kill terminator and pick up the key.
Save your game, go right, and open both doors.
Go up, while carefully avoiding the force fields, and go left.
Go down to recharge.
Kill the terminator at the bottom, and pick up both teleport parts.
Kill the upper terminator, run and jump to right screen while
avoiding the force fields.
Open the door and the throw teleport receiver and teleport over.
Kill the floating ball and pick up the teleport receiver.
Jump down and kill the slime creature.
Go right and kill the second slime creature.
Go left and save your game.
Go left and fall into the pit.
Kill the floating ball in the next pit and go to the left.
Climb down and enter the teleport beam to enter the next level.
Level 6
Go right and kill the slime creature.
Open the door, recharge, go back left, and take the lift down.
Go down, kill the slime creature, pick up the rock, and go left.
Throw the rock at the sensor to open the door and go left.
Activate the switch to open the floor.
From the bottom platform, shoot the door, operate the switch and
kill the slime creature.
Collect the atomic charge and go to the left.
Check out the journal.
Go down, open the floor, and go down.
Recharge and kill the slime creature.
Throw the teleport receiver into the pit and teleport down.
Kill the slime creature and go down. Save your game.
Kill the mutant dog and go to the left.
Open the door and kill the slime creature.
Go right, pick up the key, and step right to enter the teleporter.
Go right and up. Take the lift up, go right, and place the key
to enter the next level
Level 7
Jump up and take the lift up
Kill the slime and then collect the two explosive mice, and go
up.
Run and jump to avoid the falling bombs. Throw the teleport receiver
to the left and take the lift up.
Activate the switch so that the lift goes back down. Move all
the way left and recharge.
Go right and get the teleporter ready. Jump into the pit with
the slime creature and activate the switch. Then, immediately
teleport.
Kill the slime creature at the bottom. Pick up the teleport receiver.
Move right, pick up the key, and open the door.
Take the lift up. Save your game.
Roll right, while avoiding the force fields.
Take the lift down and insert the key.
Using the lift, blow up the floor mines.
Throw the teleport receiver into the pit and teleport down. At
the bottom kill the slime creature, then carefully dispose of
the organic guts inside the half-sphere. Pick up the teleport
receiver
Carefully, step to the right of the floor pit. Jump left and keep
the button pressed to hang from the floor. Move the D-pad
down and your character should fall down and hang from the bottom.
Once your character jumps all the way down, move right and leave
the teleport receiver.
Go all the way to the left and recharge.
Take the lift down. Save your game.
Go to the right and shoot two slime creatures.
Dispose of the brain hanging down from the ceiling by shooting
it from the left side, then from the right. Repeat until no more
slime creatures appear.
Go left and take the lift up and recharge.
Take the lift back down. Save your game.
Go back to the right.
Take the lift up and go right. Pick up the mouse and kill the
slime creature. Pick up the key, open the door, and go back to
recharge. Save your game.
Return to the door and take the lift down
Go right and dispose of the two slime creatures (using the exploding
mice, if necessary).
Go right and roll through the force field. Leave atomic charge
at the far right of the screen and hit the switch. Teleport back.
Go right and take the hidden lift up.
The final animation will be displayed.
