Indy 500

Pace car:
Hold Start + Brake while choosing a transmission at the selection screen. Keep both held until game play begins to drive the Mustang. Note: This may only be done on a multi-player machine.

All opponents appear as pace cars:
Select a track, then press Brake + Shift Up before the race starts. Note: This may only be done on a multi-player machine.

All cheats:
Insert your coin(s). Hold Brake + Zoom In + Zoom Out and press Start when choosing a transmission and track at the selection screens. Keep them held until game play begins. If done correctly, the race will begin with the pace car, on a backwards, mirrored track with no CPU cars.

Reversed mode:
Hold Shift Down while starting a game. Note: This may only be done on a multi-player machine. Additionally, the majority of players must use the code for it to be effective.

Mirror mode:
Hold Zoom In and press Start to begin the game.

Mirror mode and power steering:
Hold Zoom In + Zoom Out and press Start to begin the game.

Panoramic view:
Press Zoom In + Zoom Out while the view is zoomed out.

Front view:
Switch to view three or four during a race, then press Start + Zoom In + Zoom Out.

Display race position over cars:
Hold Start and change views during a race.

Shut car trailer:
Press Brake at the transmission selection screen.

Move car out of trailer:
Press Accelerate at the transmission selection screen.

Police car run:
Hold Start + View + Brake + Accelerate while choosing a transmission at the selection screen. After selecting a transmission, press Start + View + Brake + Accelerate. If done correctly, a police car will run around the track in the opposite direction.

Bird attack:
Select the Highland Raceway track in reversed mode. A flock of birds will attack your car. Turn around and drive in the other direction and birds will remain on your car.

Glitch: Fast first gear:
Begin game play with a manual transmission. Enter the pits while in sixth gear. If done correctly, the game will shift your car into first gear and allow you to drive over 200 mph without shifting out of first.
