Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire cheats: Events, Locations, Miscellaneous...

Battle Tower: See friend:
Note: This trick requires a link cable. Mix records with at least three friends. Then, go in the Battle Tower. In one of the battles, you might see three of your friend's Pokemon. You can tell if your friend named it or the moves are similar. In mixing records, there are ways you can tell that it really is your friend. In the M.R. room, there are four different color slots: red, green, blue, and yellow. If your friend went in red slot, then he/she is a Cooltrainer. For example, when battling in the Battle Tower it should say "Cooltrainer (your friend's name) wants to fight!". You can also choose who you are.
Information in this section was contributed by Andre Seward.

Red: Cooltrainer
Blue: Richboy
Yellow:?
Green: Bug catcher

You can save a little extra money by getting the bonus cans.
Information in this section was contributed by steven lewis.

However, once you capture about 185 Pokemon, two of those fans will become your fans. Once you have all 200 Pokemon, they will all become your fans.

Lilycove City: Art museum:
In the northwest corner of Lilycove City, there is an art museum. You can talk to the curator of the museum on the second floor. There are five blank paintings on the second floor. The curator will tell you that he is looking for modern art creations. You can fill the paintings with pictures of your Pokemon. Each of the pictures represents one of the types of contests: Cool (red border), Beauty (blue border), Cute (pink border), Smart (green border), and Tough (yellow border). Your Pokemon must be at least at level 30 (35 for Tough) to get pictures completed. Your Pokemon must also have eaten all the Pokeblocks it can. You must win the master rank Pokemon contest with the above requirements. After you winning it, an artist will appear at the stairway to the contests, and will show you a picture they made, saying that they were spurred to make them better than usual due to your Pokemon's fantastic appeals. They will ask whether you want to have it put in the art museum. Say "Yes", and you will find it on the second floor. When you have filled all the paintings, there will be people there, and if you talk to the curator, he will give you a Glass Ornament as thanks for filling up the pictures. The Glass Ornament is a glass version of a statue of a Pidgeot that can be put in your Secret Base.
Information in this section was contributed by bestlaw007.

Lilycove City: Team Aqua/Magma's hideout:
Once you get to Lilycove City, you will notice your enemy team is up to something. They say they will head to Mt. Pyre and you will see them walking away. You must follow them. You will go inside the mountain, which is Mt. Pyre. When you get in, you will notice this is where Pokemon are buried. Do not go up the stairs or you will get lost. Go to the exit on the left (on the first floor). To find the exit, walk up a few steps, then turn left. When you get out, go north. Later, you will battle them. When you win, you will see that your enemy contains the Orb. Next, the team runs away and you will get the Orb (Blue for Pokemon Sapphire and Red for Pokemon Ruby). Go to Slateport City. Later, when you get there, talk to Captain Stern. Then suddenly, your enemy will steal Captain Stern's submarine. After that, go to Fortree City and head south on Routes 120 and 121. Finally, when you get to Lilycove City, heal at the Pokemon Center, then battle May/Brandon at the Department store. Her/his Pokemon are: Swellow level31, Numel level 32, Wailmer level 32 and her/his strong one. If you choose Mudkip, she will use Sceptile. If you have Treeko, she will use Blaziken. if you chose Torchic, she will use Swampert. When you defeat her, save the game and heal. Then, go to the top of Lilycove City and speak to the gentleman for a Free Berry. After you speak to him, go right then down. You will see a house. Go inside for the TM Sleep. Go out, talk to the old man, and he will tell you where the enemy base is located. When done, surf north until you cannot go further, then go to the right. You will see a cave. Go to the first room in the cave and give the person the Shoal Salt and Shoal Shells and he will make the Shoal Bell. The bell is a hold item that restores when you attack. You can also find Spheel in the cave. Spheel is the first form of Walrein, Glacia of the Elite Four's best Pokemon.
Information in this section was contributed by Casketdude.

Mossdeep City: Shoal Cave: Same tide level:
This trick only works when it is low tide in the Shoal Cave. When it is low tide, go into the Shoal Cave and save the game. if you turn it back on, no matter what time it is, it will still be low tide until you leave the cave. This also works if you want it to stay at high tide. However, as soon as you leave the cave will return to whatever tide it is scheduled to be at. Its schedule is as follows:

If you battle the two PokeFans standing next to each other (entering from Slateport City) separately, their Pokemon are less powerful.
Information in this section was contributed by Zuriki.

Safari Zone: Keep encountering Pokemon:
You must have the Acro bike to do this trick. Enter the area with the desired Pokemon, then hold B. You will start jumping, but do not move. After each battle, hold B without moving and you can still encounter Pokemon. This effect ends once you run out of Safari Balls. Bunny hopping the bike will not count as steps, allowing your to remain in the Safari Zone longer.
Information in this section was contributed by Aaron C. and calvin.anslow.

Use the following trick to go in the Safari Zone and get a Pokemon without getting put out. First go in some grass. Then, find one little piece of grass that you like. Move from left to right in the same little "piece of grass". You will get attacked normally, but your space will not run up.
Information in this section was contributed by Bluebasket2.

Catch a Oddish and train it until it learns Sweet Scent. Then, go to the Safari Zone and go to the nearest patch of grass. Use Sweet Scent and a Pokemon will appear. When you are finished, just use it repeatedly. You Pokeballs will run out, and you will have exit, but you will get more time.
Information in this section was contributed by SiriusBlack100.

If you catch a Tropius on Route 119, it will know Sweet Scent. You can go to the Safari Zone and use Sweet Scent when in tall grass (or anywhere else Pokemon can be caught). A Pokemon will come out every time. Sometimes very rare ones will appear.
Information in this section was contributed by Katanacraze.

Safari Zone: Unlimited time:

Information in this section was contributed by Skuleye1.

Slateport City: Energy Guru:
After defeating the Elite Four, watch the TVs. Every once in a while, it will say that the Energy Guru is having a sale. Fly to Slateport City and go to the market area. He is the man in the middle stall on the left side. You can buy Items that raise Pokemon's stats (Protien, Carbos, Zinc, Calcium, Iron, and HP Up) for half the price. Be careful, though. Each Pokemon can only use one type up to six times; you can only use six of each type (six Protiens, six Carbos, etc.). Also, HP Ups may not work on all Pokemon (such as Shedinjas).
Information in this section was contributed by Kirbygod.

Slateport City: Trick Master's house:
You can find Trick Master's house above Slateport City. Sometimes you have to get a HM move to complete the level. There are tasks to complete and trainers to battle. You have to find a scroll and memorize it, then go to the door in the back. You will see Trick Master. Talk to him and he will give you a prize. If you want to see him again, you will have to wait for him.
Information in this section was contributed by Alex R..

Note: you need the Cut HM for this side quest. When you reach a house that has a sign that reads "Move three steps to the left and two steps up", you will know that you have reached the Trick Master's house. When you walk in two steps left, a message reading "You are being watched" will appear. Examine the top right corner of the table from the top and you will find him. Follow his instructions and examine the scroll. Go in and look for another scroll. It will say that you found the password. Go all the way up to the top right by cutting trees and defeating trainers. You will reach a room where the Trick Master is located. He will reward you with a Rare Candy and leave through the long hallway. You will appear back in the house. Return here later for another one of his so called tricks.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The second time you visit him, he will be hiding in the cabinet near the scroll. Examine the cabinet and he will let you in the maze. This maze is full of trap doors that you cannot fall through. This is probably one of his easiest mazes, but you will have to fight a lot of trainers.Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The third time you visit the Trick Master, you will need the Rock Smash HM. When you go in, he will be hiding in the plant to your right. Examine it, and he will give you another maze. You have to step on switches to go through the maze. Smash the rocks that might be on the switches.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The fourth time you visit him, you will need the Strength HM. Examine the top window and you will find him. Go in the maze and push some boulders around. Get the scroll and he will reward you with a special Pokeball.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The fifth time you visit the Trick Master, he will be hiding in the plant to your left. Examine it and he will appear. This maze requires no skills or HMs, but you have to answer five questions. If you answer the questions incorrectly, you will have to begin again.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The sixth time you visit him, he will be hiding in the top right cabinet. Examine the top-most right space to find him. This maze is like the gym with the flying Pokemon. It has revolving doors everywhere. You can find a Glitter Mail inside, and once you get through he will give you a Magnet.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

The seventh time you visit him, he will be hiding in the right window. Examine it to find him. This is like the seventh gym you faced. You have to go through arrows that push you around. Remember that the levers can go back and forth. You can get the Tropical Mail inside the maze. Once you are done, he will reward you with a PP Max.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

After you defeat the Elite Four, return to the Trick Mater's house for his last trick. When you enter the house, the are four chairs (pads). Examine the one at the bottom left to find him. Go in and you will realize that this maze is like the Ice Cave in Pokemon Red/Blue. Slide through, and you will eventually finish it. The Bead Mail is your goal for the first part of the maze (bottom). Once you get the Bead Mail, go for the scroll by sliding through the top maze. Once you get to the end, keep talking to the Trick Master until he gives you a Red Tent. This is the last maze that he will give you.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan.

When you finish the Trick Master's last trick, wait there until after he leaves. Check the three or four pads to find a Nugget.
Information in this section was contributed by KrisKam3.

The Trick house prizes are as follows:
Information in this section was contributed by Niall Lovlake.

Rare Candy: First time
Timer Ball: Second time
Hard Stone: Third time

Southern Island:
This location is only accessible through a GameShark code, through a Nintendo promotion, or the Pokemon Center in New York City. On Southern Island, you can find Latios or Latias depending on your game. In Pokemon Ruby you will find Latias, and in Pokemon Sapphire you will find Latios. It is your one and only chance to capture these super rare Pokemon in your individual game. In addition to capturing these Pokemon, you will also be capturing the Soul Dew, a hold item that increases Special Attack and Special Defense when held by Latios or Latias. To do this, first collect at least five Gym Badges. Go to the Pokemon Center in Petalburg City. Talk to the man standing next to the computer. When he asks if you want to make a new profile, answer "Yes". Change the four words to read "MYSTERY EVENT IS EXCITING", then select "OK". When asked if your profile is OK, choose "Yes". Save your game and turn off the power. Welcome to the Mystery Event Club. Defeat the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion. See Norman at Petalburg City to receive the Eon Ticket. Board the SS Tidal at Lilycove City dock and board the ferry to Southern Island. Find the monument in the woods where Latios or Latias awaits. Save your game. If you are defeated by Latios or Latias or accidentally run away, you will not get another chance to capture them. Capture Latios or Latias (they will be holding the Soul Dew).
Information in this section was contributed by Sergio Torres.

You can obtain an Eon Ticket from a promotion, such as pre-ordering Pokemon Coliseum or by mixing records with a person who has an Eon Ticket. To use it, defeat the Elite Four and get the Ferry Ticket. Go to Lilycove City and talk to the ferry lady. She will get the caption to talk to you. You will then be taken to the Southern Island. Then, go to the forest and go straight. Talk to the stone. Depending on the game, you can catch a level 50 Latias (Pokemon Ruby) or Latios (Pokemon Sapphire). Note: Bring a lot of Timer and Ultra Balls.
Information in this section was contributed by neo tran.

Braille messages:
At the fast current near Pacifidlog Town on Route 132, there is an underwater cave filled with Braille. This is what the Braille messages say:

A: Those with courage, those with hope.
B: Open a door. An eternal Pokemon waits.
C: But, we sealed the Pokemon away.
D: We feared it.
E: In this cave we have lived.
F: We owe all to the Pokemon.
G: First comes Relicanth. Last comes Wailord.

Put Relicanth as your first Pokemon on your team and Wailord as the last on your team then read the Braille message again. This opens three doors; one on Route 111, another around Route 105, and one around Route 120. There are more Braille messages that can be found.
Information in this section was contributed by doodlequeen3000.

Island Cave: A: Stop and wait. Wait for time to pass twice.
Desert Ruins: Right, right, down, down. Then, use Strength.
Ancient Tomb: With new time, hope and love, aim to the sky in the middle.

Pokemon Contest:
In Pokemon Contest houses, you may enter your Pokemon into a contest for a chance to win a medal. However if you enter without any Porok level ups, you will have a very low chance of winning. The way to raise this is to go out and find the trees with berries on them, then press A. You will then receive 1 to 4 berries. If you now go to a Pokemon House, you will see small gray machines on the right. The empty one on the top is for multi-player. For now, find a house in a city that only has a man at the bottom. Go to the other side of the machine and press A. You will then be asked to pick a Porok (berry) and throw it in. The spinner will come down and start moving. The objective is to press A just when the spinner hits your arrow:

Circle Within A Circle: Direct hit (much faster)
Circle: Near hit (slightly faster)
X: Miss (slower:

The faster you (and your opponent) get the spinner moving, the better. Once the meter at the top hits the end, it is over and the results and the fastest RPM the spinner was moving will appear. You will then receive a Blended Porok. The level of it depends on how fast you got the machine going. The average appears to be 11. Next, open your Special Items Pocket and go to your "Pez dispenser" type item (which you must have to play the game -- it is obtained from the girl in the first contest house). You will then pick a Blended Porok and feed it to a pet, making one of his Pokemon Contest stats (viewable in the Poke-Navi) go up. Some can even raise multiple stats. The more you do this, the better chance you have of winning.
Information in this section was contributed by Ketay.

Hint: Items that increase abilities in contest:
Once you have a Pokemon that has a condition at the maximum (for example, Coolness or Toughness) by giving it the color Pokeblocks it likes, take it to the Pokemon Club in Slateport. Talk to the man on the sofa. The man should give you a Scarf to go with the Pokemon's condition.
Information in this section was contributed by Sergio.

Red Scarf: Increases Coolness in Contest
Blue Scarf: Increases Beauty in Contest
Pink Scarf: Increases Cuteness in Contest
Green Scarf: Increases Smartness in Contest
Yellow Scarf: Increases Toughness in Contest

After obtaining a Milotic (evolve from Feebas with Beauty), you can win beauty contests easily. Teach Milotic Surf and Dive (appeal combos), Ice Beam, and another beauty attack. Make sure Milotic is holding the Blue Scarf and is above level 30.
Information in this section was contributed by mike sums.

Pokerus:
The Pokerus virus makes your Pokemon's stats go unusually higher when they level up when fighting wild Pokemon.
Information in this section was contributed by Andy.

You can get Pokerus by battling wild Pokemon on Route 102. Use a physical attack such as Tackle.
Information in this section was contributed by GoldenMag0 and Chris Bessette.

Lottery:
There is one way to guarantee to win at the lottery. Save the game at the lottery lady the day before you want to win. The next day after saving, talk to her. If there is no match, try again. This will guarantee a gift. If you match two ID Number, you will get a PP Up. Three matches will win an Exp. Share. Four matches will win a Max Revive. Five matches will win a Master Ball.

If the lottery ticket is not what you want, save the game before you pick a ticket (not in Lilycove, as it will be the same each time). If it does not match, turn off the game. When you turn the game back on, it will not recognize that you have already had an attempt, and you can try again. It is very difficult to get different tickets each time. Keep flying to different places, or try different days. It will eventually be different each time. Once you get different tickets, keep trying until you win the following:

Three matches: PP Up
Four matches: Exp share
Five matches: Master ball

Note: If you need to catch Raquaza, Latios, or Latias, keep trying until you win a Master Ball. Do not waste Master Balls on Regis, as you can catch them with about 10 ultra balls.
Information in this section was contributed by Rebeccanmanley.

Traded Pokemon have different IDs. You will have a better chance of winning. Go to Fortree to trade Pikachu for Skitty. Evolve Skitty into Delcatty with a Moon Stone. Go to Rustboro and trade Slakoath for Makuhita and trade Bellossom for Corsola at Pacifilog.
Information in this section was contributed by Rebeccanmanley.

Berry master's wife:
Note: The Berry Master's House is located on Route 123.
Information in this section was contributed by Alan Medeiros.

To get her rarest berry, tell her "ANGRY ABRA".
Information in this section was contributed by sniper wild.

To get Berry Master's rarer berry, try "GREAT BATTLE", "COOL LATIOS" (if you have a Latios), or "CHALLENGE CONTEST" (when you have a Contest Pass). When you get the berries, do not Berry Blend them. Plant and water them often so that you can get more berries. Berry Master's wife only gives you the rare berry for the quote once.
Information in this section was contributed by BLAZING SNIPER XXIX.

Talk to the Berry Master's wife. She asks you for a good saying. If you tell her "ANGRY ABRA", she will give you a Lum Berry. If you say "GREAT BATTLE", she gives you a Spelon Berry. Two other sayings are "COOL LATIOS" and "CHALLENGE CONTEST".
Information in this section was contributed by Nancy Church.

Secret Bases:
You can only have sixteen items stored in your Secret Base.
Information in this section was contributed by refuze.

When you are trying to find a good base for yourself, look inside every different base you find. The interior of the rooms differ from place to place, though some are the same. If you already have a base and want to see inside others, save your game, enter it, and make it your base if it suits you.
Information in this section was contributed by JaMZie.

In order to get a Secret Base, you will need TM 43 Secret Power. Take the road between the Gym and Pokemon Center that leads north of Mauville. Continue north past the rocks. You must use Rock Smash. Go through the fiery cave. Go north of some ridges. A man will be staring away from you at a large pine tree. Talk to him and he will give you a TM. The TM can be taught to mostly any Pokemon. When you are at a big mountain, you will see a little square. When you examine it, it will say there is a small indent. If you have a Pokemon that has Secret Power, the game will ask if you want to go in. A hole appears, and you will automatically walk in. The game will ask you if you want to set up Secret Base here. Answer "Yes". The screen will flash and a laptop will appear. That laptop is the same as the computer in your own house.
Information in this section was contributed by Edwin Chan and Corpus Badchild.

Secret Base types are bush, tree, stone wall, and inside cave.
Information in this section was contributed by Adam.

The following Secret Base is one of the three best in the game. It is located in the desert near the granny rest stop. Because it is a desert, you will find Pokemon, the fossil you want, get rest at the granny stop, race downward to a ruin, have spots to plant berries, and have ultimate access to the many bases on the rocky area behind.
Information in this section was contributed by Jammin209.

Note: If you use Secret Power on the right side of a tree Secret Base, it will be a different Secret Base than if you use Secret Power on the left side.
Information in this section was contributed by Bob Nelson.

Deleting Pokemon nicknames:
Trade a Ditto from Pokemon Leaf Green or Pokemon Fire Red, then give it to the Day Care. Give it a Pokemon that you want the nickname you want to be deleted. Walk to the Winstrate's House and talk to all four family members. Then, walk to Verdanturf Town and walk back to the Day Care. The old man should be out of the front gate and should have the egg of the Pokemon that you wanted the name to turn back to its original name. That Pokemon will be at level 5 (if it has a first or a second stage evolution). For example, Swampert will be at level 5 at basic form, no matter what Pokemon you chose. Note: This does not work with Legendary Pokemon.

Throughout Hoenn, there are berries. If you grow the Leppa Berries. you can use these instead of having to return to the Pokemon Center to get your PP levels back up. Start by replanting them as you get them. When you get to the Berry Master's garden, if you plant his whole garden with them you can get many of them over time. The more you plant, the more you get. You can build over 100 of them up in your storage.

When at the slot machines, instead of looking at the reels and getting dizzy, look at the Pokeball at the side of the screen. Try to press A when it is in the exact same position.
