Hint: Defeating Eggman:
Play as Knuckles and Tails. Have Knuckles as your lead and when you face Eggman, use Knuckles' glide. Having Tails as your partner will give Knuckles more elevation on his glide, allowing you to hit Eggman's weak spot without any elevation help from the hands or the balls that fly around.
Information in this section was contributed by Matt Soulia.

Use the following trick to defeat Eggman at the Alter Emerald easily. Select the Sonic/Tails combo. After you defeat the sub-Boss robot, you will face a giant robot Boss. An easy way to defeat him is to use Tails' Tag Action in the air. You will start flying. Use Tails' spinning tails as a weapon against Eggman. You will hit him a maximum of three times. Beware of his hands, though. The more you hit him, the more attacks he will use on you. The two you should really watch out for are his hands trying to remove two of the ground tiles; and when he uses the red metal balls as ping-pong balls. This can help you get a gold medal in the Alter Emerald level and get to the Nonaggression level easier (if you have all the Emeralds).

Use a team consisting of Cream and Tails/Cream and Knuckles in story mode. Continually fire Cheese the Chao at him to blow him up quickly.
Information in this section was contributed by Jjbatburgage.

On the final Boss level (Alter Emerald) it is best to have Sonic as the leader and Cream as the partner. You can use the tag action, and have Cheese come into your command. This allows you to attack both G-Mel and Eggman easier.
Information in this section was contributed by Chaosx9.

Hint: Eggman as partner:
After collecting all the Emeralds, play the "Final Boss level" with Sonic as the leader and anyone else as your partner. Once you change to Super Sonic, Dr. Eggman will become your partner in order to help you defeat the final Boss.
Information in this section was contributed by lasers81.

Hint: Easy height:
Have Tails as your partner. If you missed an elevated platform or area during a level, use Tails' Tag action on the ground. About 95% of the time you will be able to reach what you fell off from. Note: This can also be done to access certain areas of the Act faster.
Information in this section was contributed by Matt Soulia.

Hint: Moonwalk:
Your character can run backwards by holding R and preparing the Tag Action (do not use it). Run and jump in the air. When in the air, press the D-pad in the opposite direction you are running and do not touch it afterwards. Your character will run in a direction and he or she will be facing the other way. This is best done as Sonic, as he is the fastest character.
Information in this section was contributed by LegendofJoseph.

Hint: Grind with a surfboard:
Put Sonic as the leader and Amy as your partner. Grind on a rail and Sonic will grind with a surfboard.
Information in this section was contributed by THOMAS GRAFT.

Hint: Unbreakable walls:
Use Knuckles to break walls that you cannot break.
Information in this section was contributed by R4VEN1997.

Hint: Better springs:
Play as Amy or have Amy as your partner. Hit a spring with the "Hammer Attack". The spring will give you more of a boost.
Information in this section was contributed by Matt Scott.

Hint: Team names:
At the character selection screen, certain things will happen when you pick particular combos. For example, if choose Sonic and Tails, the top of the names thing (which usually reads "OK") will now read "Unbreakable Bond". If you select Sonic and Amy, it will read "Lovely Couple". If you choose Sonic and Knuckles, it will read "Fighting Buddies". If you select Amy and Cream, it will read "Team Jubilee".
Information in this section was contributed by Rocks Annie Pretty Towel.

Hint: Recommended teams:
Knuckles and Tails are a very good team to have on the first two levels in the Chaos Angel Zone. On the last level, the same team but reversed is very good to have. On the Boss level, having Cream as your lead and anyone as partner is recommended; or having anyone as lead and Amy as your partner, or vice versa.
Information in this section was contributed by Chaos Angel.

Use Sonic and Cream. Sonic is able to do the Homing Attack and Cream can launch Sonic high into the air. The height varies depending on how fast Sonic is running. Cheese can turn into a Sonic Chao. By pressing B, Sonic can send the Sonic Chao (Cheese) to attack enemies. However, the Homing Attack is uncontrollable. You might hit your side on an enemy or possibly fall to your death.
Information in this section was contributed by JNAtheDUDE.

Use Knuckles and Tails. Knuckles can glide, climb walls, and float on water. Tails can launch Knuckles high into the air (no running is required). Hold R, jump in the air, and repeatedly press A to let Tails fly Knuckles for about five seconds. However, doing the glide attack with Knuckles as the leader makes him go a little bit higher. This may turn you off track; you may hit an enemy (and get hurt); or end up flying nowhere and fall to your death.
Information in this section was contributed by JNAtheDUDE.

Hint: Sonic The Hedgehog reference:
In Zone 2, Sunset Hill, the music that plays is a remix of Green Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog.
Information in this section was contributed by Matt Soulia.

Hint: Sonic Battle reference:
Once you have unlocked the sound test option, play the "Ex-Boss" song. The music is a remix of one of the Coliseum stage in Sonic Battle.
Information in this section was contributed by Silvia Sanchez.

Hint: Finding Chao:
Two of the best character combinations for finding Chao are Knuckles and Tails (Knuckles can glide and climb walls, and with Tails as his partner he can go just about anywhere); or Tails and Amy (this allows Tails to fly much higher for those hard-to-reach spots.). Sometimes a Chao can be underwater. Sometimes you can find a Chao in the Zone Map (where you go into the Act Rings.). If you go to the Chao Garden in the Sonic Factory, and press Select, you can see what Chao you have and do not have. If the missing spot where a Chao should be is marked with a "1", you will find it in Act 1. A "2" means that you will find it in Act 2. If it is in Act 3, it will read "3", and the "M" indicates that you will find it on the Zone Map.
Information in this section was contributed by Mostis.

Glitch: Run backwards:
Approach a very steep slope and run up it. When you stop running, the character you are playing will run down the slope while still facing in the direction he or she originally faced. This is best done in Ocean Base Act 1 with Sonic.
