Tyrouge:
Use the following trick to getting all Tyrouge evolutions. Get Tyrouge and raise its attack level higher than its defense. Then, raise it to Lv. 20. It will evolve into Hitmonchan. Breed this Hitmonchan with a Ditto to hatch another Tyrouge. This time, raise its defense higher than its attack. It should evolve into Hitmonlee at Lv. 20. Once again, breed it with a Ditto to hatch yet another Tyrouge. Raise its defense and offense to be equal and evolve him at Lv. 20. This hatching trick may also be done with Eevee (Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon, and Umbreon); Poliwhirl (Poliwrath and Politoed); and Gloom (Vileplume and Bellosom).

Three Legendary Dogs:
Find any one of them to get it on your Pokedex so you can track them down. When you run into it, try to attack first with Mean Look or Spider Web so you will have time to wear it down and it will be less likely to flee. Watch out for Roar or your Pokemon will run away scared. If you wear them down, they will not be able to recover. Collect White Apricorns so get Fast Balls for use during the battle. Check your Pokedex when you enter a city, town, house, cave, route, or other new location. It could stay where it is or move to a different place. Buy and use a lot of Repel, Super Repel, and Max Repel.
Information in this section was contributed by Cuddigan.

When in Azlea town, go into the burned tower. Choose the path to the left, smash the cracked rock, and proceed forward. Do not drop into the hole next to the trainer yet. You will see a hole exactly in the middle of the tower. Drop down and walk ahead. The dogs will be on a platform. When you step nearby, they will run in three directions. Go look for them in the wild. When you encounter one, it will be at level 40 but will run as soon as possible. Try to put it to sleep. If you manage to damage one of them, their health will be like that the next time you encounter them. Also, after it runs away you can check the next place it has gone to. Note: If you use FLY or enter a new town or cave, it will jump to a new random place -- keep using fly until it is outside the town that you are at. The dogs cannot jump into Kanto -- they stay in the Jhoto region.
Information in this section was contributed by SAIYANCARNE.

To get the legendary dogs you need to go to Ecruteak City. Once there, enter the Burned Tower. Go through there and walk up to the Legendary Dogs and they will be freed. After that, you will find them in wild battles in bushes. Stay in one city and locate them on your Pokedex. Keep watching which direction they are going. Go in the opposite direction to run into them. Use Repels to avoid getting into battles with other Pokemon. After you take HP out of one of them, it will never return unless you catch it and heal. Put it to sleep on your first attack or it will run away. For the best chance of finding them, start in Violet City. Use Master Balls, Speed Balls, Heavy Balls, Friendship Balls, and sometimes a Hyper Ball to catch them.
Information in this section was contributed by Lucky8BallYesNo1.

Go to a route that has grass that is near a city. First go to the route and search until you find three pokemon. If the legendary dogs are not included, repeat until you find one. It will eventually flee. Get a lot of Fast Balls from Kurt (WHT Apricorn found behind his house) and a Pokemon that will paralyze, freeze, etc. and do damage. If it flees, it will still have the same damage when you find it again. Try to get its life down to a small sliver (while its asleep for best results), and start throwing Fast Balls at it to eventually catch it. Note: If you have a Lv. 40+ Pokemon with the stats above, you will get the best results.

Catch a ghost Pokemon, then find one of the Legendary Dogs. Use Mean Look and it will not be able to escape.
Information in this section was contributed by BOSMB7.

Get Scyther or Scizor to learn False Swipe, then get a Gastly and train it until it learns Mean Look. Mean Look prevents the enemy from escaping, while False Swipe always leaves the enemy with 1 hit point left. Since the Legendary Dogs do not heal between battles or sightings, you can gradually wear them down between battles. Note: Suicune, Entei, and Raikou are all at Lv.40, so Scyther/Scizor and Gastly should be at least Lv.30 to 60.
Information in this section was contributed by RottenEdSJ.

When you search for the Dogs, pick a town and travel between that town and the route that connects with it, Check your Pokedex every time you enter the route for the dogs. If you and one of them are on the same route, spray on Max Repel and go though the grass.
Information in this section was contributed by Megan Urban.

Try to get a Misdreavus at Mt.Silver at night. Hunt down the dogs. When you see Entie, Suicine, or Raikou, use your Misdreavus. This works best if your Misdreavus has the Mean Look attack. It is possible that the dogs will use Roar, but sooner or later you will catch them.
Information in this section was contributed by Ryan Taylor.

Make sure you have plenty of Fastballs. Go to the place between the exit of the Bug Catching Tournament and the location where you woke up Sudowodo. Directly in the middle is a small patch of grass. This patch of grass is a good hot spot for all three of the Dogs. If this does not work, enter the building where the Bug Tournament is held and return to the same patch of grass.

Use the following trick to catch them without a Masterball. Weaken them with a Pokemon they are weak against and that is 10 levels above it. When it runs away, track it with your Pokedex. The next time you see it, the Legendary Dog will have the same health it had when it ran away. Just use an Ultraball to catch it.
Information in this section was contributed by Andrewstemporary.

To catch Suicune, Raikou and Entei, get a Scyther and evolve it to Scizor using the Metal Coat. Get it to learn False Swipe and train it to level 39. Find one of the Legendary Dogs using the Pokedex. When you are in battle with it, use False Swipe. If you are fast enough, it will take off some HP, but never make it faint. Use it whenever you see a Legendary Dog to catch it easier. Note: If Scizor's speed is not fast enough, use Carbos.

When catching Suicune, you do not have to use a Master Ball. You can use a Fast Ball. You can get a Fast Ball by giving the person in Azeala Town a White (Wht) Apricorn. You can find Suicune at the Tin Tower.
Information in this section was contributed by John C. Bell.

Entei, Suicune, and Raikou are found randomly in a location after you free them in Ecruteak. From then on, they will move to any area near them every time you change an area.
Information in this section was contributed by ansem.

If you have already seen Entei and Raikou once, open your Pokedex and find their entry. They should be near the bottom, in new and old modes. Open the entry and choose the option area. This will show you where Entei and Raikou are located. However, they will move every time the Route changes or you enter or leave a city, building, or cave.

First, catch a Golbat, Jynx, or Haunter. Train it to the following level: Golbat to level 48, Jynx to level 48, and Haunter to level 64 (make sure it knows Mean Look). Put it first in your team then go to any route in Johto. Save your game, turn your game off then back on, then check your Pokedex to see if any of the dogs are there. Keep turning it off and back on until they are in the route where you are at. Make sure you have Ultraballs and Fast Balls to catch them with. If they are in your route, get damage, and escape; save the game and turn it off and back on. Note: You have to see at least one of them before using this trick.

Togepi: Level up easily:
When you battle Morty, make sure the Ghost Pokemon that he is using only knows Ghost attacks and that Togepi has Metronome. Use Togepi and his Ghost Pokemon cannot hurt it. Keep using Metronome after the Ghost Pokemon is defeated. Togepi will level up three or more times.

Trogue:
Use the following step to get Trogue and its evolutions. Note: Surf and Waterfall is needed. Enter Mt. Morter in the middle. Make sure you have five or less Pokemon with you. Find, fight, and defeat the Karate King, Blackbelt Kiyo. He will give you Trogue. With it you can get either Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, or Hitmonlee. For the one you want, make sure that the following conditions are true when Trogue reaches level 20. For Hitmonlee, have attack is higher than defense. For Hitmontop, have attack and defense equal. For Hitmonchan have attack is lower than defense.

Shiny Pokemon:
In the wild, somewhere, are shiny Pokemon. Every species of Pokemon has a special version of it that is very rare. You cannot run away from shiny Pokemon, and if you faint them you can still fight them again. Shiny Pokemon are different colors depending on the species of the pokemon, have upgraded stats, stay shiny when evolved, and do not pass special colors when bred. You can tell if it is a shiny Pokemon if it has these traits: Stars circle it for a few seconds when it appears, you cannot run away, and its colors appear different from a normal Pokemon of the same species. There is no special way to make a shiny Pokemon appear. Some examples of shiny Pokemon in captivity are purple Drowsee and Hypno, green and light blue Tentacool and Tentacruel, gold Geodude (and its evolutions), red Gyrados, and blue Swinub (and its evolutions).
Information in this section was contributed by MllFierbird27.

There is no easy way to find shiny Pokemon (except for the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage), as they appear at random and are very rare. If you see Pokemon with alternate colors, try catch to them. They can be identified by the sparkle effect that appears when they are in battle, or by checking on the Pokemon Status Screen. Next to the Male/Female symbol, these special Pokemon are marked with three dots. Some examples are a dark blue Nidoking, purple/green Golbat, green-eyed Tentacruel, purple Rapidash, orange/green Scyther, yellow/purple Hoothoot, green/red Sudowoodu (green/red), and yellow/orange Ho-oh.

Change normal Pokemon to shiny Pokemon:
If you want the full benefit of this code, use a Pokemon that can evolve. Otherwise, there will be some confusion with names and so forth. First, place a flying Pokémon that has been taught FLY as the first Pokemon in your lineup, the "Golden Gyarados" as the sixth position, and the Pokemon whose color is to be changed in the second position. After doing this, put all of the Pokemon back into the PC except the first one. Next, take out the Pokemon that was in the second position before, the one that will be changed. Enter the Bug-Catching Contest that is near Kogane City. This is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. As soon as you enter it, exit immediately. When the clerk asks you if you want to quit, answer "No", which is always the lower answer. Use your flying Pokemon to FLY out of the contest. Store the Pokemon that will be changed in a PC, then return to the contest and say "Yes", the top answer, to complete the contest. Return to a PC, withdraw the Pokemon, and check its status screen. The Pokemon will be a different color, but it will have Gyarados' name. Grow the Pokemon until it evolves. You may want to use Rare Candies if you have any. Now when you go into battle with the evolved form of the original Pokemon, it will have a shining status.

Go to Goldenrod City then go down to the Day Care Center. Give the old man or woman a Ditto and any Pokemon of your choice, other than a Legendary Pokemon (Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, or Ho-Oh). When the old man or woman is in the back of the house he or she will give you a level 5 Pokemon. For example, if you gave them a Magneton that you got in a trade it will be Magnemite at level 5.

Recommended Pokemon:
Catch a wild Wooper or Quagsire and keep it in your party. You can teach it Surf, Whirlpool, Headbutt, and Flash.

Pokemon that cannot breed:
You cannot breed every type of Pokemon, although some are male or female (like Mewtwos). They still cannot be bred together.
Information in this section was contributed by Chariz89.

The Pokemon that cannot breed are Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Entei, Raikou, Suicine, Lugia, Ho-oh, Mew, Mewtwo, Nidoqueen, Nidorina, Unown and all baby Pokemon.

Duplicate through breeding:
Catch a Ditto and breed it with any Pokemon. Get the egg and allow it to hatch. It will not hatch into a Ditto, will result in the other Pokemon it was bred with.
Information in this section was contributed by shanelver and James Herring.

You can use this with Lugia or Ho-oh to duplicate them. There should be an egg with your tiny legendary Pokemon. It should know most of its parents moves, plus one or two different ones.
Information in this section was contributed by Wedge.

Breeding location:
You can breed at the Day Care on Route 34. Deposit both the male and female Pokemon after using them in a few battles. Then they will be happy and perhaps mate.
Information in this section was contributed by MrHappyQuagsire3.

Inheriting moves and stats when breeding:
Pokemon inherit moves from the father and stats from the mother. Often whatever the female is, is what the baby Pokemon will be. For example, if a female Meowth breeds with a male Stantler with the moves Hypnosis and Dream Eater they will usually have a baby Meowth with the moves Hypnosis and Dream Eater.
Information in this section was contributed by noctwa.

Easy breeding:
Getting Pokemon such as the starters to breed can be difficult if you are unable to trade. Go to the breeding house near Goldenrod. Put a Ditto and the desired Pokemon in the Daycare. The Daycare is in a convenient place. If you do not have a Ditto you can catch them outside. Go do something that takes a long time, such as battling the Elite Four. Come back to the Daycare and check if the old man is standing outside. If he is, it indicates there is an egg which will hatch into the Pokemon you put in there with Ditto. If he is not, then walk or ride your bike all over Johto/Kanto instead of flying, or battle the Elite Four again. This method can be useful if several people want all three of the different starters from Pokemon Gold/Silver or even Red/Blue. This saves the trouble of restarting more than three times. Note: The Legendary Pokemon do not breed. You can check if they are able to breed by talking to your Pokemon when they are in the Daycare. It is quite self-explanatory if they are unable to breed.

Fisherman Wilton on Route 44 will call about swarms for Remoraid on Route 44.
Hiker Parry on Route 45 will call about swarms for Marill in Mt. Motar.

Happiness evolution:
In order to get the Pokemon that evolve with happiness, such as Eevee into Unbreon or Espeon, you need to raise their happiness level to a certain number. Using an emulator, the number you need to get to is approximately 225 points. Once your Pokemon has reached 225 points, it will evolve after it gains a level. Using the following guide, you can calculate the approximate happiness stat of your Pokemon. When you catch/receive a Pokemon the starting happiness stat is as below:

When Pokemon is captured by a Friend Ball: 200 points
When Pokemon is captured by any other ball : 70 points
When Pokemon is given/traded/received as a gift: 70 points

Note that if you have a Pokemon whose happiness is 200 and you trade it, the happiness level becomes 70. The following are things that increase happiness levels and how much they increase it by:

For every 520 steps you take with the Pokemon in your party: +1 point
For every status increasing item used on the Pokemon (like Carbos, HP UP): +2 points
For every level gained by the Pokemon: either +3 or +5 points
For every time Blue's sister grooms the Pokemon: +3 points

The Hair Cut Brothers, located in the Goldenrod Underground, can also increase your Pokemon's happiness stat. How much it increases depends on the saying you get after the grooming is finished. Here is a list of how much the happiness status is increased by each brother.

For The Older Brother ($500)
If it says "looks a little happier": +1 point
If it says "looks happy": +3 points
If it says "looks delighted": +5 points
For The Younger Brother ($300)
If it says "look a little happier": +1 point
If it says "looks happy": +3 points
If it says "looks delighted": +10 points

The happiness stat can also be decreased. The following things decrease the happiness stat.

If the Pokemon faints: -1 point
If Heal Powder is used on the Pokemon: -5 points
If Energy Powder is used on the Pokemon: -5 points
If Energy Root is used on the Pokemon: -10 points
If Revival Herb is used on the Pokemon: -10 points

Also, the following do not affect the happiness stat of a Pokemon either way:

If the Pokemon is holding items
If the Pokemon wins any battle
If the Pokemon HP falls to critical<red> (not fainting)
If the Pokemon is put in the PC
If the Pokemon is poisoned, stunned, confused, burned, frozen, or asleep

Information in this section was contributed by Aishitara Pegasus.

Faster way to evolve with Happiness:
Feed your Pokemon a lot of Pokemon power-ups such as Proteins, Cabos, etc. This is the quickest but, most expensive way. Visit Blue's sister in Pallet Town at 3 to 4 p.m. to have your Pokemon groomed. Haircuts can be bought at the Underground Passage in Goldenrod City ($300 younger brother, Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, $500 elder brother, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays). Never let that Pokemon faint or be injured to red health. Heal it when poisoned, burned, etc.
Information in this section was contributed by Ss4Goku403.

Catch a Pokemon with a Friend Ball from Kirk. The youngest haircut brother is the best because he makes your Pokemon happier.
Information in this section was contributed by Doolf11.

The amount of Happiness Points you need to evolve a Pokemon by happiness is 220, and every Pokemon you get, caught, traded or otherwise starts at 70 Happiness Points. However, if you catch it with a Friend Ball, it will start at 200 Happiness Points. Now, every time you go to the Haircut Brothers in Goldenrod City, or Daisy in Pallet Town, grooming one of your Pokemon will give it a number of Happiness Points each time. For this system, we will use Daisy to raise your Pokemon's Happiness Value to 220 quickly. Use the "Set time" code to reset the clock. Every time the clock is reset, the daily happenings in the game are also reset. Set the clock to any time between 3 and 4 p.m. of any day, then begin game play. Go to Daisy's house in Pallet Town (the one on the left). Talk to her, and have her groom one of your Pokemon, which you can do twice. Then, save the game, and reset it. Reset the clock again, set the time between 3 and 4 p.m. again, and repeat the process. Continue doing this to gain 3 Happiness Points each time that Daisy grooms the Pokemon until you hve reached, or are at least close to, 220 Happiness Points. Then, go into a battle with the Pokemon and have it level-up. Once the battle ends, your Pokemon will evolve into its Happiness evolution. Keep in mind that this is not a glitch or a hack, and will therefore will not have any bad effect in your game, save record, Pokemon, money, items or anything else.

Buy ten Carbos, ten Proteins, ten Irons, ten Calcium, and ten HP-ups. Feed as many of each as you can to the Pokemon you want to make happy. Just to make sure, go to the Happiness rating afterwards to see if your Pokemon "really like you". Then, raise it a level or feed it a Rare Candy. It should then evolve.
Information in this section was contributed by Kurtis.

Easy Pokemon catching at start of game:
After you get your Pokemon from Professor Elm, go to Cherrygrove City and heal your Pokemon. Go to Mr. Pokemon's house. As you are traveling to his house, try to run from every battle you can and do the same thing on the way back as well. After you get Pokeballs, you can catch Pokemon more easily without worrying about killing them first.

Attach Exp Share.
Fight the Elite Four at least two times a day.
Fight Red in Mt. Silver.
Fight lots of Pokemon in the wild grasses of the Silver Cave (inside and outside.)
Put the Pokemon that you want to gain experience in front of the team. Then, go somewhere where there are wild Pokemon, change your Pokemon to a stronger one and defeat them. Not only will that Pokemon get experience, but so will the ones that competed.
The easiest level gaining Pokemon are some of the ones which have been traded because they also gain boosted, faster experience points.
Feed them Vitamins.
Fight in Viridian City.

Also avoid doing the following.

Never feed your Pokemon Rare Candy. It will not be as strong as it could have been.
Do not leave them in the Day Care Center. Even though it may help you, it will cost you money, and love does not.

As soon as you get to the Daycare, leave two Pokemon there. Continue playing until you complete the game (all sixteen gym badges). Then, pick up your Pokemon from the Daycare. You will find out that they gained 60 to 90 levels. It will cost a lot, but because you completed the game you will have a lot of money. You can get them more powerful by going to the Battle Tower for experience points. If you win, you get a lot of Proteins, Carbos, Calcium, and other items. You will soon have two very powerful Pokemon added to your collection.

Go to the Viridian Trainer House and battle. Use the "Set time" code to do this an infinite number of times per day, which will allow you to increase your Pokemon's level quickly. This effect is doubled by having the Pokemon hold Share Exp.

PokeRUS virus:
There is a rare virus that your Pokemon can get called PokeRUS. This will double the amount of experience points your Pokemon gets after a battle. You have to run into a Pokemon with PokeRUS to infect the Pokemon in your party with the virus. You can tell if your Pokemon has it by going to the Pokemon Center and talking to Nurse Joy. If she says that your Pokemon has tiny life forms attached to them, then your Pokemon has PokeRUS. It only lasts a few days per Pokemon, but you can give more Pokemon the virus by trading or storing them in a box with an infected Pokemon.

When a Pokemon becomes cured of the virus, it will leave a black dot above the HP meter in status.

To get the PokeRUS, go into a patch a grass on Route 32. Just look for the kid who says "There are a lot of clingy things in the grass" . Note: Some Pokemon in the grass may not have PokeRUS. Then, after you defeat Team Rocket for the second time Professor Elm (or Oak) will call you and tell you that he has learned about a new virus. Go to the grass near the kid that keeps on turning around in circles. Your Pokemon should then catch PokeRUS.
