Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within

Restore all sand slots:
Hold B on controller four and quickly press X(2), A, B(2), A, Y(2) on controller one during game play.

Alternate ending:
Complete the game with all nine Life Upgrades.

Illustration Gallery:
Complete the game to unlock the Illustration Gallery.

Hint: Defeating The Empress Of Time:
To defeat the Empress Of Time for the last time, dodge all her attacks, especially the kicks. Do not let her get near the girl in red. When only a little of her life remains, keep blocking and press Y or B.
shahrukh khan.

A good, but slightly cheap way to defeat the Empress Of Time during the normal ending is as follows. At the end of the intermission sequence, immediately jump backwards towards the edge of the "arena". Simply back away off the edge. It is impossible for her to attack the Prince while he is hanging from the ledge. Shimmy over a few feet from her (she usually will not follow). Anytime you are ready, simply pull yourself up and do a three-hit combo on her. If she blocks one of the attacks, jump back quickly to the edge to avoid a combo from her. If she slows down time, immediately go back and hang from the ledge until time returns to normal. Doing so is a good way to save your Sand Tanks until you find a better opportunity to use them. Once you feel like it, use one of your own sand tanks to slow down time. Then use the B(3), Toward, A(6) combo. Once you finish this combo, jump back towards the ledge. You may then choose to either use the three-hit combo or the Slow Time combo described above. Any time she uses the whirlwind attack, just run away. Using your Sand Tanks to slow time for this attack is not recommended, as it only takes away two to three seconds of the whirlwind. Try to keep all of the whirlwinds away from the camera. By doing this, you can run towards the camera without worrying about hitting a whirlwind. Once the winds are done, repeat the strategy discussed earlier. It may take a while to complete and is cheap, but it is much easier than actually trying to dodge her attacks.
Sloan Murray.

Use the following trick to defeat the Empress the second time without the Water Sword. As soon as the battle with the Empress begins, quickly block by pressing R because she will attack you immediately. When she hits you with her sword and you block, some of her attacks will hurt. When she has finished her attacking at the start, quickly slow down time by pressing L then start hitting her. She cannot hit you during the slow down time. She can also use her own slow down time. This is annoying because it can slow down the Prince. When this happens quickly press L to slow down time yourself and start hitting her. This also works when she is in the middle of her own slow down time. When the cyclones appear you must keep using your Sands Of Time to slow down time. Keep using slow down time until the cyclones are gone. You may run out of sands. While using your last Sand Of Time during the battle or cyclones, enable the "Restore all sand slots" code after you run far away from the cyclones during slow down time. Keep slowing down time during the cyclones and keep running away from them until they disappear. This takes awhile. When that is done, keep blocking when she hits you and always use slow down time during the battle with her. Keep hitting her frequently and she will not hit back.
Jackson Grant.

Hint: Defeating The Dahaka:
You must have all nine Life Upgrades to gain the final sword, The Water Sword, to fight The Dahaka and receive the alternate ending. Before you enter the Central Chamber the second time, make sure you go to the pedestal in the middle of the hourglass room to receive the Water Sword. Enter the Central Chamber to trigger the intermission sequence. Then, chase the empress to trigger the alternate Boss fight with The Dahaka. This can be a very tricky Boss (especially under the hard difficulty setting), and he may seem very cheap at first. Immediately when the fight starts, trigger the Ravages Of Time attack against the beast. Do this twice, then run around and refill your Sand Tanks. The Dahaka will try to shoot his tendrils up through the ground in front of you. The best tactic to avoid them is to run around in a circle -- they will not touch you. After your Sand Tanks are filled, go back towards him. When you get close to him, he will shoot tendrils out of his stomach at you. Roll under them then activate Slow Time and hit him until his health is about half way down. An intermission sequence will start, and the beast will be hanging on the side of the cliff. Run over to him and use Ravages Of Time as much as possible. When his health gets too low, he will jump up into the center of the stage and regain half of his health. This is when he becomes angry and things get tricky. He will try to jump on you multiple times. Run around the stage collecting the sands, rolling out of the way when he jumps towards you. If he misses you, he will try to shoot his tendrils at you; just run or roll away from him. Eventually he will go back to shooting tendrils out of the ground. When your sands are full, run towards him and use the same tactic as before. When your down to a couple of Sand Tanks, fill up again. The strategy is to get his health as low as possible before he gets knocked to the side of the cliff, then use either Slow Time or Ravages to kill him off before he jumps back up again.
Sean D. Ryan.

Get the Light Sword. Ensure that you do not throw the Light Sword. Hang onto it until the Dahaka fight. Beat on him as instructed above, but when he hangs on the ledge for the first time, slow time and hit him with the Light Sword (not the Water Sword). He should die before he is able to jump back up. If not, you will defeat him the second time.
Mark Jacobson.

Slow down time and attack until he falls off the edge. When he does, slow time again and attack until his life is gone. If you need more sand, there is some scattered around the platform.
Shanewilcox13.

Hint: Defeating the Sand Griffin:
When it lands, slow down time by using R. Go up to it and start slashing it. If it slashes at you with its claw oR tail, roll out of the way. Keep hitting it with time slowed down. Once it has taken enough damage, it will go into the air. Go to the edge and hang off. You do not have to worry about it hitting you. Once it lands again, slow down time and attack. Keep doing this until it is defeated.
cscience.

When the fight starts, trigger your ground attack twice. This should get him to half health. Then, run in circles until you have a new Sand Tank. Then, charge him and try to avoid his attacks. When he gets in the air, just hang on the edge. He cannot reach you. When he gets back on the ground, Slow Time and attack him. He will eventually be defeated after this has been defeated.
joelle.

Hint: Defeating Shadi:
This is an easy but precise way to defeat Shadi. Attack her until you hear a large "clank", which indicates that she has blocked. Then, roll to the side of her. When this is done, most of the time you will be able to get behind her and repeat the attack. You should get to hit her about four times (and possibly up to six times) before she blocks. However, sometimes you may only hit her about two times before she blocks. You must listen for the "clank".
Aaron.

Hint: Defeating the Sand Griffin:
You should already have the strongest ground attack given to you. When facing the Griffin, hold Block then hold down the button that controls your sand powers. While holding these, charge up until your ground attack is at maximum. This should automatically send out its shockwave, dealing a great amount to the Sand Griffin. Do this about three to four times and it should die.
Shaleen.

Hint: Defeating the first Boss:
Block and do the attack were you jump behind her, and attack her twice. Remember to block immediately after this or she will hit you down.
Sam Holley.

While fighting the first Boss after you become the Sandwraith, use slow time to easily kill it. It will rarely get a hit on you, and your Sand Tank will regenerate during this time. Whenever it runs out, immediately start slow time again. Remember to stay behind it or its attack will knock you off the platform.
bob dahaka.

Hint: Defeating the Crow mini-Boss:
Use the following trick to defeat the mini-Boss that is formed from the evil crow enemies encountered in the beginning of the game after the ship level. Jump over him and slash him in the air repeatedly. By doing this, he cannot hit you. You must wait a few seconds between attacks. Also, in the last two stages, you will be on platforms; be careful that you do not fall off.
Rapforeva65.

Hint: Defeating the Giant Troll:
Hit it on the back of the legs. After you get it to fall on its knee, press A to jump on it. After you are on its head, use slow motion. Keep pressing B during slow motion and eventually it will not grab you.
Yezan.

Hint: Defeating the Golem Boss:
To defeat the harder Golem Boss that throws exploding monsters at you, have at least five Sand Tanks full. Activate Ravage Of Time (press R, then tap L) and hit him behind his legs (which has no armor). Then, jump on his back and onto his head. Immediately activate Ravage Of Time again so you can hit his head faster. When it wears off, activate Eye Of The Storm (press L), then keep hitting him. You should then finish him off.
Stavro Moustakakis.

Hint: Defeating the mechanical tower Boss:
To defeat the large Boss on the mechanical tower stage, continuously hold R to block, and dodge all his attacks by pressing A while blocking. Control the direction of your dodge by moving the Analog-stick. Note: Dodging to the left or right is best. Blocking his hits will not work, as you will die after four hits. He has no armor on the back of his legs; when you get behind him, hit his legs and prepare to dodge again. After a few times of doing this, he will fall to his knees. You will be able to jump on his back by pressing A. Strike him in the head with your sword five to eight times. He will then throw you off if you do not jump off in time. Repeat this three or four and he will die.
Joe Hamilton.

Roll under his legs (it is a lot easier than trying to go around) and slash at the back of his ankles. When he drops to one knee, press A to climb up his back. About halfway up his back, slow down time and begin slashing at him. You should be able to kill him before he can throw you off his back. Also, when he dies he gives you a sand tank, so it is like earning it back.
Matt.

Hint: Defeating the girl that the Empress Of Time sends to kill you:
Always jump over her and hit her in the air. However, if you do this long enough she will dodge it. When she does, start counter attacking until starts dodging counters, then start jumping over her again. Keep doing this process until you win.
DigNOnHalo.

Hint: Defeating enemies quickly:
When you are on a cliff or platform with areas to fall off and enemies start attacking in groups, just throw them off instead of wasting Sand Tanks or fighting them all head on. This saves time, especially when you reach The Cliff as the Sandwraith.
Frantz Joseph.

Use the following trick to easily defeat any of the large enemies that require you to jump on their backs and get hits. Use Slow (tap L) when you are climbing up its back. Once you get up there, start hitting it as much as possible. Eventually, before time runs out or it has the chance to throw you off its back, you will be able to stab it in the neck and it will fall. By doing this, you will only use one Sand Tank and it will be refilled by its death. Note: Do not use any other Sand Tanks prior to jumping on its back, or else you will waste them and not get them back too quickly. Note: You may have to use two Sand Tanks while on its back if it is used too early.
caleb hall.

Hint: Glowing sword:
Go to the Mystic Caves with a sword that can break walls. Pass the first gate that unloced to find a passage divided by a pit with a switch on the floor. Jump into the pit and get through the breakable section of wall at one end. Break the weapon rack that is behind it to get the glowing sword. This secondary weapon does a large amount of damage, but with every use will also increase damage given to the Prince.

Hint: Hockey stick:
After getting a sword that can break walls, return to the Central Hall during the Throne And The Mask level. Turn the lever to cover the ground level gap. Follow the same path used to get the Life Upgrade in this area. However, instead of entering the door, turn right and break the part of the wall with sand coming down with your sword to find a weapons rack that is hiding the hockey stick weapon.

Hint: Pink flamingo:
After getting a sword that can break walls, get to the Garden Hall (Present). Begin at the middle passageway at the very top of the hall. Wall run to the rope, then wall run to the central platform. Turn to the left and walk through the rubble that should be in front of you. Turn around and hold onto the platform you were just standing on. Then, jump across the gap to the next platform. To your left is another platform with a switch. Once there, use the switch then go back to the platform you were just on. Climb on the block that is now here, then do a vertical wall run and jump to get to the beam above. Walk along the beam to the right then jump to the ledge on the far wall. Follow the ledge until you find an alcove. Drop down into the alcove and use your sword to break the rear wall on the right side. The pink flamingo weapon is hidden in the weapon rack. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Rayman's glove:
Get to the main tomb in the Catacombs. Exit this area to begin a Dahaka chase. Notice that the passageway branches during the second and third Dahaka chase. Turn left here and find the weapon rack immediately to your left. Break the weapon rack to collect Rayman's glove. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Teddy bear:
One of the miscellaneous secondary weapons is the teddy bear. Locate it after earning the Scorpion Sword in the clock (west) tower. There are three encounters with a giant golem enemy in the clock tower when you initially go through it. The first is before you start negotiating the vertical climbing of the tower (past); the second is atop the clock tower (past); and the third is stationary and throws exploding monsters in the clock tower's second area (past). Look for the room where the second giant golem enemy is found. You need to be in the present (find a time portal) and drop into the water-filled dead end past the golem's room. Break the wall and retrieve the teddy bear. The teddy bear is almost unbreakable and does almost no damage, but has the ability to restore lost life to the Prince with each successful blow on an enemy.
RinnyCoop.

Hint: Finding your way at the clock tower:
Once you get to the huge room in the clock tower, the camera will zoom in on the Sand Troll with boxes. When you defeat the enemies, the troll will keep throwing the exploding Sand Dogs. There are two weak walls on the left and the right. Go to the right one first. You will see a weak wall. Stand by it and look at the troll. When you see the troll throw those dogs, get out of the way. Look in the hole and you will see a water fountain. If you are running low on health and want to save a game, go right first. Do the same exploding tactic with the troll.
DarreM321.

Hint: Old sword:
On the ship where the game starts, look at the weapon that your dead shipmates have dropped (the humans, not monsters). Most of them should be the sword you started with Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time.

Hint: Listen To Dahaka:
Dahaka speaks backwards. If you rewind time when he speaks you be able to understand what he actually says. Some phrases include, "You cannot escape the Dahaka", "You cannot escape your fate" and "You will be removed".
Zé Rafael.

Hint: Life Upgrade locations:
RinnyCoop.

1 (Past): After fighting the girl in black a second time, pull the large altar on ground level of the sacrificial chamber to reveal a secret door. Go through the trapped hallway and get the first Life Upgrade.
2 (Past): This is done after Slow Time is earned. From the room where the Prince has an intermission sequence with the maggot man creature, go into the large courtyard-like room with a timed floor switch next to some stairs. This switch opens a low gate at the top of the same set of stairs. Go through that trapped hallway for the second Life Upgrade.
Note: To obtain the second Life Upgrade without getting the power that slows time, you must find the switch behind the barrels. Press the switch and wall ride up the wall, instead of running up the stairs roll. If done correctly, you should make it a moment before the door closes.
Joshua Myers.
Note: Use the following trick to get the second Life Upgrade very early. When you first travel into the past after the intermission sequence of the Prince following the girl in black and she kicks you in the face and runs off, go back out of the hallways as usual. However, retrace your step leading up to this (the first fight with the crow Boss). Run up the wall then get up on the ledge. Wall run up the second wall as before. Now everything is intact. You should reach a set of stairs. There are three barrels on the right-hand side of the staircase that hides a pressure switch. Walk onto the switch then run to the side of the staircase. The Prince will hop the railing and start to roll up the stairs. As soon as you can, roll all the way up them to a small hole in the wall at the top. Once inside there are several set of spike traps, rock pillars, and timed swinging swords. Make your way to the end of this hall to get the very first Life Upgrade and deactivate all the traps. Run back to the hole you rolled through and there is a another pressure switch on your left. Wall run to press this switch and open the hole. Roll back out then make your way back down the hallway below and the fountain to save.
Zasariz Zasariz.
3 (Past): This is done after the Serpent Sword is earned. Rotate the turnstile switch directly opposite the facing of the metal nub where the Serpent Sword was used to create platforms to a door at the bottom of the chasm. Use long wall jumping to slow the Prince's descent down to the level of the door. Past that door is a trapped hallway that leads to the third Life Upgrade.
4 (Past): When exploring the Garden Tower, look for a room that is overgrown with vegetation and is directly below a box and folding bridge puzzle. It is in the same vicinity as the first switch that turns on the water for the Garden Tower. A break in the fencing allows the Prince to drop off and use ledges to access a door underneath the overgrown vegetation room. The fourth Life Upgrade is past that trapped hallway.
5 (Past): When exploring the Garden Tower's second water puzzle, ledge up after turning on the water (but before exiting the room with the turn switch) for the fifth Life Upgrade.
6 (Past): When exploring the Clock Tower, look the giant Golem enemy that throws explosives. One breakable wall is a save point, but there is a second breakable wall on the other end of the room leads to the sixth Life Upgrade.
7 (Past): After gaining the Scorpion Sword and a particularly tough giant Golem encounter, a ladder leads the Prince to a Roman courtyard room. Two breakable walls are here -- one has a switch, and the other has the door which requires Slow Time to access. The seventh Life Upgrade is past that door.
8 (Past): After entering the Library, the Prince will need to pull out two bookcases to continue his progress. Look for two circular ledge/beam structures (one of which will have a Ninja) after dealing with the bookcases. One of the circular ledge/beam structures leads to a wall with three levels of ledges that may be climbed/sidled. This is a detour to the eighth Life Upgrade.
9 (Past): There is a location near the beginning where you chased Shadee (girl in black) and a door shut behind her. You then have to go up a set of platforms to finally reach the switch atop the room, just before sacrificial pit. Go back there when you get a sword that can break walls. Make your way back up this room. Look carefully when on the top platforms. There should be a set of metal bars in one of the wall that seem damaged. There is a crate behind those bars. Break the metal bars with your sword. Bring the crate onto the platform and look up. You can use the crate to access a passage in the roof to reach the ninth Life Upgrade.

Glitch: Blood continues to pour:
Only have your primary weapon. Find a low level enemy (for example, Raiders, Blade Dancers, etc.). Run towards them and press Y to jump over and grab them. Once you have grabbed one, press X rapidly until the Prince steals its weapon and cuts its head off. If the Prince cut it in half, just find someone else. When you see blood appear, pause game play. Remain idle, and the blood will keep gushing.
Charlie Wilson.

Glitch: Play as Sandwraith:
When you reach the portal room for the second time, when you have to switch the time to the present for the first time, the Prince will say that something is wrong. You must run the switches on the wall to make the portal work correctly. Do not run the switches on the wall. Instead, enter the portal as it is and you will switch the time to the present. Save the game, then exit and load the game. You will now be playing as the maggot man. In this mode you will constantly lose life and much more health when hit than in normal mode. However your attacks will be very powerful and you are much more quicker. Note: Save the game on a different file if you wish to continue the game as the Prince.
Mercury.

Glitch: Strange waterfall:
When going towards the third life upgrade after you obtain the Serpent Sword, the door that leads to the hallway has a waterfall. When walking through it, the Prince will become invisible. For the strangest results, walk slowly back and forth through the waterfall. Sometimes only the Prince's hair and sword will be visible. When this happens, walk slowly and his hair and sword will sink through the ground and disappear. After you get the upgrade, if you look through the waterfall everything will be black until you walk past it.
Musashi.

Glitch: Die from falling while on ground:
Go to the Garden (Present). Make your way to location of the Dahaka chase #3 intermission sequence, when he annihilates Ravenman and he throws the Prince against the wall. Go to the same exact platform where Dahaka threw the Prince at during chase #3. From this platform you had to do a wall run to grab the ladder at your left. Once you are on that same platform, hang down from it. Try to jump to the platform with the pole sticking out (parallel to the ladder). Once you jump towards it, notice that the platform will become invisible and that you will land on the ground. Try to walk around the environment. As soon as you try to take a step, you will instantly die as if you fell from a platform.
Saad Lodhi.

Glitch: Permanently stuck:
Make sure you avoid doing this during the game or at least create another save file before testing it as there is no way to recover. This occurs after the scene where the past Prince is killed by the Dahaka, and the Prince is able to take off his mask resulting in him being free from being the Sandwraith. After the scene is over and you are back as the Prince, you are standing in the Access Hall room with the rotating switch that controls the rising and lowering columns of rock. Rotate the switch in the direction that will cause the columns to give you access to the balcony which is located above the exit way of the Access Hall. Make your way to the balcony and go down the hallway. Keep going (it will take awhile) until you make it all the way back to the Sacrificial Room. This is the location where The Girl In Black and The Empress of Time were fighting at the beginning of the game. Once in the room, you are unable to go up the broken stairway (it was also destroyed at the beginning of the game). Instead, progress through the room by starting at the rocks located at the entrance you just came from. Go up and then jump down to the main circular platform where the fight occurred. You will have to hang off a ledge and then jump there. Continue on to reach a point where you come to the broken bridge. You must drop down the ledge and onto the balancing beam to continue. After doing this, you are now stuck forever. You can try to keep progressing in this same direction but eventually (after going through a time portal to the present) you will only come to a giant room that leads you in circles -- basically a dead end. You are now trapped between two dead ends. While in here, there are also some Save Fountains where it is possible to overwrite your other data by accident. If that is done, you will always start here and are now permanently stuck and unable to progress in the game.
FarStarDreamer.

Glitch: Misspelling:
Select "Extra Features" at the main menu. Go to the "Weapons Gallery". The Eagle Sword's description reads "A noble and powerfull blade..." when it should say "powerful".
