except for the rifle. Only do this when You should have at least
1,000,000 Pesetas and can purchase the Chicago Typewriter. This
weapon has maximum firepower, an extremely fast firing rate, and
unlimited ammunition.
Irishman.
The Chicago Typewriter is one of the best guns to have with you
throughout the game. Besides the 10.0 Firepower (equivalent to
a Magnum), it is a rapid fire weapon that will bring any enemy
to its knees (including Bosses). It is also a very useful and
enjoyable gun to use to mow down Ganados or take down a El Gigante
with ease.

Handcannon:
Get a five star rank with all mercenaries to unlock
the Handcannon weapon. To get unlimited ammunition for it, fully
upgrade all of the Handcannon's options.
Successfully complete the game two times. The Handcannon will
be available as soon as you start the game again for 0 Pesetas.
It is a very powerful magnum, and will have unlimited ammunition.
When you go to upgrade it in the merchant window, in the "Handcannon"
update screen there is an option labeled "Exclusive".
When chosen, the gun is upgraded with power identical to the Chicago
Typewriter.
Matt Moore.
Alternate ending sequence:
Successfully complete Assignment Ada and watch the
credits. They will be in gray scale. However, if you select "Yes"
when asked "Watch the ending movie again?", it will
be replayed in color in a smaller frame. If you watch it once
more when prompted, it will play is full wide screen color. They
will alternate each time you choose to replay the credits.
Irishman.
Hint: Handcannon spread:
If you are observant, you can actually see that the
Handcannon fires in spreads of four bullets. The best place to
see this is to take the Handcannon and go to the lake where you
face the Del Lago Boss. Take out the Handcannon and fire into
the water from the high cliff on the left. When the bullets hit
the water, you will see four splashes. This indicates that the
Handcannon fires in four bullet spreads, almost like a shotgun.
weberkki.
Hint: Punisher:
If you destroy all blue targets in the beginning you
can get a free Punisher from the Merchant 2 guns before you can
buy it. This pistol hits two targets when you get it, and five
when you get exclusive. This makes it work well for crowd control.
Luke.
After you complete the game you can load your cleared saved game
file and use your previously collected items. Every time you start
a game this way shoot the blue amulets. You will still get a free
Punisher. This will take awhile but it is a good method to get
money.
Classykatt.
Hint: Riot Gun one shot kills:
To do this, you must fill the entire Firepower, Firing
Speed, Reload Speed and Capacity of the weapon. When you shoot
a Ganado or a Los Luminados, one shot will kill them. Note: The
same happens with the Chicago Typewriter.
Danny Phetdara.
Hint: Exclusive gun upgrade effect:
All guns except for the Killer 7 have an exclusive
effect.
Danny Veng.
Handgun: Five times the chance of critical headshot (exploding
head).
Red9: Extra firepower.
Blacktail: Extra firepower.
Punisher: Pierce five enemies with one bullet.
Broken Butterfly: Extreme Firepower (50).
Killer7: None.
Shotgun: Same attack power for any distance (sniper-like effect).
Riot Gun: Extra firepower.
Striker: 100 shells per clip.
Bolt-Action Rifle: Extreme Firepower (30).
Semi-Automatic Rifle: Faster fire rate (one shot per .80 seconds).
Mine-Thrower: Homing mines, larger blast radius.
TMP: Extra firepower.
Mathilda: 100 bullet clip.
Handcannon: Unlimited ammunition.
Hint: Killing birds:
Toss a flash grenade in the center of a group of birds.
All of them will die instantly, leaving lots of Pesetas. This
also works with the Granadas when their heads are transformed.
starbuk.
Hint: Defeating Bosses:
The easiest way to kill Bosses is buying a rocket launcher.
For example, shoot the first golem thing with a shotgun or any
other weapon that can weaken it. When it bends over and the parasite
sticks out of his back, shoot it with your rocket launcher and
it will die. It works with every golem. This also works with Salazar
and his "right hand" (hooded creature), and the armored
enemy that has something like a football helmet.
Flambure.
Buy the Infinite Launcher if you are able to. This is not needed,
but it is cheaper overall. Normal launchers will also work. Shoot
any of the following Bosses once with a launcher to defeat them:
Verdigo (Salazars right hand man), any El Gigante, Dr. Salvador,
Bella Sisters, J.J. (mini gun man),Salazar (after shooting the
thing in the eye), and the blind enemies with claws. These must
be direct hits. Also, the Infinite Launcher helps against Saddler.
romerozombiefan.
Note: This works on a few specific Bosses. When you are fighting
the El Gigante, make the parasite stick out of its back. When
it fully kneels over, go very close to behind him and you will
be allowed to press X to climb onto his back and slash
the parasite multiple times, depending on the tapping speed. This
is much more effective then shooting it with weapons if you can
tap fast enough (auto-fire recommended). When you are fighting
the first El Gigante, the battle will be much easier with parasite
slashing. If you have an Auto-Fire enabled controller, you can
probably kill the El Gigante in two climbs. When you are fighting
Saddler, have him show his big mouth-eye then get close to him
and tap X. You will see Leon climbing from behind and stabbing
Saddler's eye. Doing this repeated times can kill him in less
than four stabs.
Danny Veng.
Hint: Defeating the "Big Cheese":
In the early stages of the game, Leon is captured by
the "Big Cheese" (as Luis calls him) and his minions
and gets infected by the T-Virus. An intermission sequence then
follows, opening in the room where Leon was held after he became
captured. He is tied up to Luis. After the two talk for awhile,
the "Big Cheese" sends in a villager with an enormous
axe. A button command happens and you will kill the villager if
performed correctly. Most of your encounters with this enemy involve
using simple button commands. However, the final battle between
this enemy and Leon involves a T-Virus parasite that comes out
of the "Big Cheese". To defeat this Boss easily, you
will need two hand grenades and two or more incendiary grenades.
When the battle starts and the "Big Cheese" is still
ground-bound, use up both of your hand grenades. This will be
faster than shooting the Boss with any other projectile-based
weapon. Then, quickly throw another hand grenade at him as he
is recovering from the first one. After shooting the Boss at strategic
moments, an intermission sequence will start, involving the "Big
Cheese" having his legs blown off. He will cling to the rafters
in the Boss-fight-arena. Take out your incendiary grenades. Make
sure that the Boss is on the lowest level of rafters possible.
Then, climb up the ladder that leads to the second story of the
arena. As you run around dodging the "Big Cheese's"
blows, throw an incendiary grenade at him as he is swinging those
massive tentacles located on his back. The grenade will hit him
and he will lose his grip on the rafters and fall to the ground.
Now, just as the first step using hand grenades, quickly throw
another incendiary grenade at him as he is recoiling. The next
intermission sequence will explain that you have defeated him,
and you will receive the "False Eyeball" item. .
Max Richter.
After the "Big Cheese" Boss' body has been torn in two
and he is swinging from the rafters after you, just shoot him
at close range with the shotgun as he is in the process of moving
and has only one arm attached to the beam. He will fall every
time. However if you hit him while he is hanging with both arms
attached, it will not work.
Josh.
When he morphs into the parasite, use a rocket launcher to shoot
the Big Cheese. He will then split in two. Climb the ladder and
take out your shotgun. When he is close, just shoot him a few
times.
Southparkjedi.
At the start of the fight when the "Big Cheese" is still
on his feet, go up the ladder and get all of the items, or wait
until the end of the fight. If you chose to get the items before
the end of the fight, the battle will be slightly harder unless
you have the rifle with scope. If you do not have it, you must
go down the ladder and destroy the "Big Cheese's" first
form from the opposite area. If you do not choose to go up the
ladder, just stand your ground and move if needed. Try using the
shotgun in the first part of the fight. After the "Big Cheese"
splits in half, go into the bottom right corner of the bottom
level as far as possible. If done correctly, the "Big Cheese"
will not be able to attack you. After you are positioned correctly,
attack him with your shotgun and TMP. Note: During the first part
of the battle, destroy all of the gasoline tanks with your handgun
to inflict extra damage on the "Big Cheese" to end the
battle faster and to conserve ammunition.
Tha Ki11a.
In the early parts of the game, Leon will encounter the "Big
Cheese" while he is tied up to agent Luis. You encounter
him later in the game in a barn type arena. Reload all your weapons
before you trigger the intermission sequence. Before you enter
the barn, Leon will tell Ashley to hide. Leon will enter the barn
and this triggers the appearance of the "Big Cheese".
You must dodge him by tapping two random control combinations.
Leon will tip over a barrel and say "Hasta Luego". "Big
Cheese" will change into his second form (parasite with legs).
To defeat this Boss easily, you must have at least three hand
grenades and two or three incendiary grenades. As soon as the
intermission sequence ends, equip yourself with hand grenades.
Throw the first hand grenade then wait for "Big Cheese"
to recoil slightly. Maintain your sense of direction and mark
which side the door that he tied up is on. You must have good
timing. Throw the second hand grenade as soon as he has recoiled
only a little bit. Once he has recoiled, throw the last grenade.
He might turn into his third spider-like form, but this is highly
unlikely. The "Big Cheese" will probably be very close.
Use a flash grenade to stun him for a moment, then use your shotgun
to transform him into his third form. This should require about
two or three good shots. Once he is in his third form back up
into the corner on the side with the TMP ammo. It is in the far
back corner opposite of the entrance. Quickly turn around and
look for a red barrel that you can shoot. The barrel will explode.
When you are in the corner, wait for "Big Cheese" to
come into range of the barrel. Once he is in range, shoot the
barrel and he should fall to the floor. Quickly take out your
incendiary grenades and throw one at him. He should recoil and
you should be able to use another one. If done correctly the battle
should end. If he gets up again and climbs onto the rafters, use
your shotgun to knock him down and use an incendiary grenade.
This should finish him off nicely. If he is still not dead, unload
a gun clip into him and teh battle will end. Once done, heal if
necessary, and obtain all the items. Get the False Eyeball. It
is needed to open the gate with the retinal scanner on the other
side of the lift.
Maymy Twin.
If you are able to, purchase the Infinite Rocket Launcher. Shoot
it once at the beginning and he should fall in half. Shoot him
again and a cinematic will play in which his eyeball comes out;
then proceed with the rest. You can also use the normal and special
rocket launchers with the same method.
Jacob Wetherall.
Hint: Defeating Chief Mendez:
When you fight Mendez in the barn, use grenades to
stun him, then fire the shotgun or TMP to break his spine and
change him into his second form. When he is in this form he will
hang from the ceiling and attack you. Use the ladder to go to
the second floor then run to the right side of the catwalk, on
the side where you find the Red Herb. Move as far to the end of
the catwalk as you can without using the other ladder to go down.
When Mendez attacks, hit him when he has only one arm holding
himself up, so that he falls. If done correctly, do not move.
When he jumps back up on the ceiling he will be unable to hit
you at all from his position. Then, shoot him until he dies. You
will not take any damage. If you shoot him off again, simply let
him return to the same place and he will still be unable to hit
you.
dyveira.
After the torso separates, equip the sniper rifle and aim for
his "insect arms" (the ones he uses to swing from the
rafters with). When he falls on the ground writhing in pain, shoot
him with your strongest and fastest gun. If you are out of ammunition,
toss incendiaries or regular grenades. The best thing to do is
to run back to the barred door, do a 180 degree turn, and snipe
him when you get a clear shot.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Avoiding Del Lago:
When Del Lago goes underwater and comes at you, turn
the boat as far to the right as possible. You will always avoid
a hit.
Joe Alvarado.
Hint: Defeating Del Lago (the lake monster):
When you start, he is towing you and heading toward
the pieces of land in the middle. Steer to avoid them and harpoon
him as soon as you can afterwards (before it lets go). Next, aim
a harpoon and throw it at any sign of movement so that you will
not be knocked off the boat. After awhile it will go away, then
charge at the boat.Throw as many harpoons at it as possible before
it reaches the boat. If you get knocked out, press A until
you get back in. Repeat this process until the intermission sequence
starts and the monster retreats.
squee4221
and Jacob Bratek.
When you are fighting Del Lago, do not attack it. Keep avoiding
it until the boat stops and you pick up a harpoon. When Del Lago
starts swimming towards you with its mouth open, aim for the center
of its mouth (the parasite) and you should get an instant kill.
Justin Nguyen.
Hint: Defeating Dr. Salvador:
When facting Dr. Salvador (the chainsaw man with a
burlap bag on his head), do not let him get very close or he will
decapitate you. About fifteen shotgun shell to the face are required
to kill him.
LilManSam.
Hint: Avoid fighting El Gigante:
Use the following trick to avoid fighting El Gigante
when he is encountered the second time. After you survive the
raid, you must choose a path to open; left or right. Open the
right gate and it will take you to El Gigante. Use the shotgun
and make the boulder drop down on his head when he arrives. Then,
turn around and kick the door six times to knock the chains off
it. If you are still standing outside the door when you see Gigante
approach you from behind, do not panic; just get out of there
quickly. He does not attack for a few seconds after he comes up
behind you. The knife or a gunshot may help destroy the chains
quicker, but kicking works. Go through another door in the same
fashion and somewhere along the way you should find a key. It
may be in one of the last huts you see toward the center. If you
are quick enough, you can escape El Gigante and make it through
the door alive with Ashley.
BrutaIRetention.
Use the following trick to avoid fighting El Gigante with Ashley.
After the cabin raid with Ashley and Luis, you will be given a
choice of two large doors. The left door will lead to the Chainsaw
Sisters fight, which is very difficult. The right door will lead
to a second El Gigante. Make sure that you have a rifle with a
scope before entering. If necessary, purchase it from the merchant
nearby. Immediately after you enter the right passage and appear
on the other side, equip you rifle and shoot the chains off of
the wooden door across from you from a distance. Then, equip a
shotgun or a pistol. Walk forward and you will see the intermission
sequence of El Gigante appearing. Ashley will point out a large
boulder above your head. Shoot it, then run to the door with the
chains that you shot off. Kick it down and run to the second cabin
that you see. Note: Make sure that you are holding B to
run; timing is very important. In the second cabin, quickly get
the key on the floor immediately as you enter the doorway. Then,
run to the next door and shoot off those chains (a shotgun works
best). Run to the final door and use the Old Key that you found
in the cabin. If you done fast enough, you should escape El Gigante
by a few seconds.
Phisherman1191.
Hint: Defeating El Gigante:
Either weapon works; feel free to experiment. When
the battle starts, check out the shacks and get all of the items
that you can. When he gets close, run between his legs, get behind
him, then open fire. When he is approaching you, use the shotgun
and keep shooting him in the head while avoiding his attacks.
When he roars and starts moving around, something will pop out
of his back. Before it kneels on the ground, get in close until
the action command that reads "Climb" appears. Use it
to get on his back. The screen will indicate which button to use
to slash. Press that button as fast as possible until you get
off. Repeat the process one to three more times to defeat him.
squee4221.
When facing the El Gigante, buy a rocket launcher It will kill
him in one hit instead of wasting your other ammunition.
nick
and LilManSam.
You will have to fight four El Gigantes (the big monster that
breaks through the door and picks up and crushes Leon). You will
fight one by yourself, one with the girl, and two at the same
time by yourself. The quickest way to kill them is to buy a rocket
launcher immediately before the fight so that you do not take
waste space in you inventory. Throw a flash grenade to stun him,
then run around behind and shoot him in the back. You will kill
him in one hit. The same can also be done on most of the Bosses.
If this does not kill them, it will do a lot of damage.
Mark Rivenburgh.
To win easily against the two El Gigantes in Chapter 4-2, go up
the ladder and go down the rope on the other side of the room
to activate the mechanism. It will open the circle in the middle
of the room and take an El Gigante into the lava. Do not try it
a second time; the mechanism will not work again. Just use the
rocket launcher to finish the remaining El Gigante.
FOO_JY.
To defeat the first El Gigante, avoid him for about a minute or
two so that the dog that you saved earlier can help you. When
the dog arrives, he will distract El Gigante. Take this opportunity
to get the ammunition inside the cabins. Once you get everything
in the cabins, shoot all of your shogun or TMP rounds at the El
Gigante. Once you have shot all of it, switch to the weapon that
you did not use, then shoot him until the virus in the back comes
out. Then, shoot with all of your remaining ammunition. Note:
It is recommended that you shoot El Gigante with the TMP first,
then with the shotgun. The shotgun rounds do more damage.
Undertaker520634.
The second time you fight El Gigante, you will have Ashley. This
is difficult, because if Ashley dies you will fail your mission.
Defeating El Gigante the second time is easier because you have
the big rock. Shoot the wood holding the rock when El Gigante
is roaring. If done correctly, the rock will hit El Gigante. Just
after the rock hits him, shoot El Gigante with a shotgun until
the virus comes out of the back. Quickly climb his back and start
cutting the virus. Cutting the virus this time is difficult, because
the game switches knife attack to A or B. Quickly,
look at the button that is supposed to be pressed and press it
quickly until El Gigante recovers. Do the same thing and you will
kill him, allowing you to get the items in the cabin's next place.
Undertaker520634.
Near the beginning on the right side of the road is a dog/wolf
in a bear trap. Save him. After doing so, he will run off into
the woods. Later during you fight with El Gigante, it will show
up and help as a distraction. It will take his attention off of
you so that you can collect items. If you fire, he will go back
after you, but will later still go back to trying to attack the
dog/wolf.
Josh Nelson.
Buy a rocket launcher from a merchant. Equip it and go to the
arena to face the first El Gigante. At first, run around from
him until the dog helps you (if you helped it out of the bear
trap earlier). Then, run to the other side of the arena while
El Gigante is busy. Hold R, wait until you see his face,
and make a head shot. If done correctly you will not have to cut
that thing out of his back.
krazj.
If you are able to, purchase the Infinite Rocket Launcher. There
is no need at all to get the stick things to come out of his back.
Just shoot once with the launcher. You can also use the normal
and special rocket launchers with the same method.
Jacob Wetherall.
Hint: Defeating Garrador:
When you fight Garrador (the person in the prison),
leave Ashley upstairs. Go downstairs and shoot the bell. Then,
take out the mine thrower and shoot the parasite on his back.
The explosion will kill him instantly. Then, call Ashley, pull
the lever, and go upstairs.
RYAN ROBERTS.
Hint: Defeating Gothic Illuminados:
When you are in the castle and you fire at the Gothic
Illuminados, it is best to fire at their knees. They will fall
on them and allow you to use a suplex move instead of a kick.
You will then throw them over your head and smash their head in
the ground. Note: In mercenary mode, the same goes for the rest
of the mercenaries.
jimmy.
Hint: Defeating J.J. (mini gun man):
An easier way to kill J.J is to first hit him in the
head with a weaker gun. When he is holding his head, attack him
with a more powerful weapon. If he recovers quickly, just use
the same strategy. This also works on the military base during
the Mercenaries mini-game.
meda king.
Hint: Defeating Los Illuminados:
Instead of firing at Los Illuminados when there parasite
is exposed, use a flash grenade to destroy the parasite instead
of using your weapon.
jimmy.
Hint: Defeating Krauser:
Krauser is the mean-looking Russian commando with the
red beret. The first encounter is nothing more than action commands.
The second encounter, you can kill him. For this battle, the weaponry
you need is the semi-auto rifle and the Broken Butterfly. These
two should be maxed out, with exclusives and everything else.
If you are short on resources, worry more about getting the Broken
Butterfly's exclusive, as it really increases the firepower. In
the room where the long and hardest fight takes place, just run
to the edge, taking the contents of a barrel along the way. Jump
down the edge. Run across the corridor-like area until an intermission
sequence starts, Krauser will tell you where Ashley is (not really)
and say that you need three insignia to open the gate. He will
say that one is in the north and in the east, and that he has
the last one. Then, he will show his TMP. After that, the battle
starts. Use the rifle to peg him in the head, but be quick. When
he shows himself, he does not leave a big window of time to hit
him. After about one or two shots he will engage close quarters.
The best thing to do is take out the magnum and hit him anywhere.
One shot and he will throw a flash grenade. From there, continue.
There is a building at the end of the first fight with Krauser
in this battle. Ignore the ladder. It is a waste of your time.
Open the door and proceed. Turn the corner to find Krauser again.
Keep the magnum out. He will be on a building, sniping you. Run
toward the building. Use some caution when he starts with the
mine arrows. When you are close enough to the building he will
jump down and begin close quartering again. Hit him with the magnum.
If you do not hit him the first time he may get close enough to
use his knife. Either back up to avoid the hit, or (if becomes
surreal and he tries to hit you multiple times), enter the action
commands as they appear to avoid a slash or a deadly stab to the
heart. After he throws another flash grenade, go to the right
of the building and walk along the side. It is a path to the next
fight with Krauser. This is also where you get the first insignia.
In this fight, Krauser will switch between sniping and close quartering.
While he is sniping, get under the roof he stands on and enter
the action icons to avoid the grenades. When he gets down, aim
and shoot. It will be a little tricky because the laser does not
show up on Krauser, and you may need to wait until he says, "Come
on! Come out and fight like a man!" The important thing is
to shoot him. After he throws another flash grenade, a statue
will rise. Push it to the square on the other side of the broken
wall. This will open up two switches to be used; one to get out
of the area you are in and the other to carry on to the last fight.
Flip the first switch and go back down the path. When you get
to the building, go around the backside of it and go straight
to the second switch. Be careful. Krauser will be waiting for
you around the corner, heading toward the switch. This starts
the second to last shuffle. Just shoot him with the magnum. Open
the door and jump down. You see that there are bombs around. Shoot
them at a safe distance. Proceed through this trench to the end,
shooting any bombs or flying turrets you encounter. Near the end
of the path, Krauser will say something and you will have the
choice of responding. In the tower at the end, climb the ladder.
At the top you can go to the other tower and pick up some ammo
and an herb if desired; or collect the second insignia and start
the last fight. Krauser does not use his weapon anymore. However,
his left arm turns into a group of blades. The fight will commence
with an action command. You will dodge if you hit it correctly.
You will hang on the edge if you do not. If this happens, press
A to get up. The weapon you use is your choice. The magnum
is recommended, as you only have three minutes to kill him and
get out of the room. This is where timing and aim counts the most.
The shooting order is as follows: feet, head. You can use the
rifle to get him down, but for the head shot, it is better to
use the magnum. If done correctly, you should kill him in a little
over a half a minute. After he is dead, go down the ladder, and
through the newly opened gate. Jump down, put in the insignia,
and leave.
Chris Hess.
To easily defeat Krauser's final form, when his arm is mutated
just use your knife whenever his guard is down. It is possible
to defeat him in a little over a minute under the pro difficulty
setting by using this technique.
Dan Gerick.
When fighting Krauser, instead of wasting ammunition, use your
knife. You should only have to hit him four or five times before
he dies.

This trick requires the Stryker with a couple of power and capacity
upgrades. Keep shooting him with the Stryker until his arm transforms.
When he uses his arm as a shield, shoot his legs. then open fire
on his back. Keep doing this until he dies.
zjr13.
You actually only need the knife at first. When the fight starts,
he will be aiming at you with either his custom TMP or his bow.
Just run away to a small tower-like structure. Krauser will follow
you. When he gets close, slash him with the knife. He should flinch,
back off, toss a flash grenade, and escape. It might require more
than one slash, but usually, even under the pro difficulty setting
it takes only one to make him back off every time. When his arm
finally transforms, try dodging his attacks and waiting for an
opening. Then blast him with a powerful gun when his arm is not
in the way. Note: He may not take damage when he is on one knee.
weberkki.
Use the following trick to defeat Krauser with Ada. Work your
way up to the last part of the gamem where you reach the long
bridge-looking area. Slowly walk up, and as soon as you see the
three barrels stop and shoot them with anything other than your
rifle. Walk a little further up and watch the intermission sequence
as Krauser jumps down and starts chasing you. Then, if you want
the items, run as fast as you can, pick them up, then run to the
edge of the bridge. Turn around, and shoot Krauser in his head
with your rifle. (or any part of his body that is not covered
by his wing). This should keep him from slashing you with his
wing-like arm. After this, stay backed up into the edge and, even
though he is close, continue to shoot him with your rifle. This
may take some practice, but you can still use your button commands
while scoping. Since you do not have a knife, this is probably
the most effective way to kill him. He will go down with about
five or six shots to the head.
Elmo Amador.
When you see him, draw your knife and he will do so as well. He
will walk slowly toward you. Just swipe your knife and he will
back away holding his face. He will often initiate a "duel"
with you, and you must press A + B or L +
R to complete the combo. It ends when you kick him in the
face. This is more amusing and saves ammunition.
Adam157.
When Krauser's arm transforms and he attacks, get the action command
correct and you both should be on the wooden balcony. When this
happens, he will do his back flip. When he does, get off the balcony
so that only he is on it. Then when he comes toward, take out
your pistol and shoot him in the leg until he falls to one knee
. Note: This was done with the exclusive Blacktail. While he is
on one knee, pop him in the face once. Eventually he will fall
and die.
Shawn Bean.
Use the following trick to defeat Krauser in pro mode. Before
you even meet Krauser, make sure to buy the following items: a
powerful Broken Butterfly, powerful Mine Thrower, rocket launcher,
and several first aid sprays. Buying all these items may require
selling guns but it is worth it. When you first meet Krauser,
shoot him a few times until he runs away. Use your Broken Butterfly
and sniper rifle to get rid of him and you will eventually make
your way to the top of the tower to face Krauser for the final
time. You only have about three minutes to defeat him. When you
are fighting him, take out your Broken Butterfly and shoot him
when you have the chance. When you shoot him, he goes down on
one knee for about a second. This is a crucial time. As you shoot
him with your Broken Butterfly go to your menu and switch to a
Mine Thrower. Exit the menu and shoot Krauser with the Mine Thrower
will he is still on his knee. This may require a few attempts
because you must be close to get the mine on him. Make sure the
mine is on his body, and not his arm. It only does damage on his
body. Once the mine is on his body you will hear it beeping. Run
away from Krauser and get some distance between him and yourself.
Once the beeping gets faster and the mine is ready to explode,
go to your menu and take out your rocket launcher. Immediately
take aim. The mine will explode, sending Krauser to his knee.
Shoot Kruaser in his chest with the rocket launcher. If the shot
was good, Krauser will die. This may require a few attempts because
the mine sometimes does not send Krauser to his knee. Make sure
you have the Mine Thrower updated so that it is powerful enough
to send him to his knee. Also, if Krauser is on his knee and you
try to pull out the rocket launcher, it is too late. Aiming with
the rocket takes too long and Krauser will be up again.
Cameron.
Use the following trick when fighting with Krauser on Leon's path.
Krauser's close-in attack can be very annoying. However, you can
counter his attack by using your own knife. When he is about to
slash you with his knife, get prepared with yours and slash him.
You will probably hit him in the face, stopping his attack and
making him stumble for a bit. You just need to be close, and not
draw out the knife too late or it will not work. If he is using
his TMP, shoot him in the face with a gun (handgun recommended)
so he will lose aim. When the second and the hardest part of the
battle begins, you must press the correct combinations of buttons
to avoid his attack. If you do not dodge, you will have to climb
up before he makes you lose the grip. Also, you will lose health.
Either way, you must hit him in the head to achieve a successful
result. For this purpose, use an over-powered Broken Butterfly
(it is stronger than the Killer7 when optimized with its special
addition) and another gun to spare (probably the TMP and Blacktail).
Shoot at its legs to make him kneel down, then quickly aim and
fire. Another way is to wait until his head is no longer under
the shield (most often after an attack), then shoot before he
gets ready again. While he stumbles, you may get the chance to
attack him again. With persistence and skill you may be able to
kill him in not more than two minutes.
ArK.
Use the following trick when fighting with Krauser on Ada's path.
A good thing to do against Krauser is to shoot the crossbow at
his legs when he is jumping back after an attack. Before he moves,
aim quickly at his legs. It does not matter if the laser is not
pointed at his legs; you just need to fire the bolt at a point
close enough to hit him with the explosion. When you fight him
in the last stage, fire all the crossbow bolts you have remaining,
then use the TMP. Hit him when he is jumping back from an attack
and it will be much easier.
ArK.
Hint: Avoiding close combat with Krauser:
At the beginning of the second encounter with Krauser,
you will be forced into one area due to a gate which is on a time
lock. Because of this, you are forced to deal with Krauser until
the gate opens. To avoid wasting ammunition or Herbs, climb up
the ladder and jump down once Krauser comes up after you. He will
jump down again to get at you, which is your cue to simply climb
back up the ladder. You can continue this charade until the gate
opens, and Krauser will never be able to attack you. Although
this is much less exciting than actually fighting Krauser, and
far more ridiculous, it is more effective than wasting ammunition
on an opponent you cannot kill while risking loss of health.
Roger Conturie.
When Krauser is in his normal form, he will try to slash you with
his knife. Sometimes, dodge commands will appear. Press the correct
buttons to dodge him. When the dodge commands do not appear, simply
walk backwards. Do not turn around and run, as you will have already
been hit while trying to turn around.
Kevin McFarland.
Hint: Defeating enemies on bridges:
When on a bridge with open areas, take out a weak gun.
One shot will make them fall off the bridge. However, you will
not get any items from them.
Richard.
Hint: Defeating Saddler:
Look at his legs. If you see an eyeball, shoot it until
ypu can see the eyeball in his mouth. Get near it and press Action.
Do this about three times, then go across the bridge and get the
rocket launcher. Shoot it at him. Then, go down, get the girl,
and ride the jet ski.
Markmonster25.
The most effective way to win this battle is to have the Mine
Thrower and some grenades. Start the battle by running past Saddler
to the end platform and climb up the ladder. Wait for Saddler
to get close to where you are and throw the switch. This will
trigger steel beams to crash into him. Saddler will flop down
on the ground. Quickly jump off the platform and go near him.
Press A to trigger Leon to "climb up". Leon will
stab his eye. You must stab Saddler eight to nine times to defeat
him. Quickly run across the bridge and get ready to do an action
command to jump when the bridge falls. As Leon grabs on, repeatedly
tap A to climb up. Be aware if Saddler has not jumped over
to where you are, he will throw steel beams and you will have
to do action commands to dodge them. Run to the end, and once
again climb up the ladder. Get ready to throw the switch and cause
Saddler to fall and stab him. There are now multiple ways to get
him to flop down. A single grenade is enough, as well as a Dart
Mine. You can use these to get him to fall. You get also take
out the thermal scope for your sniper and target one of the four
eyes on his legs. Those are all good ways to get Leon to stab
his eye. Note: Stabbing Saddler's eye is the only way to damage
him. Finally, when you haved stab him enough (about eight to nine
times) an intermission sequence will appear, and Ada will throw
a Rocket Launcher (Special) to you to finish the job. Grab it
across the bridge and make room for it in your case. Point and
shoot at Saddler, and the final battle intermission sequence will
begin.
Drizzt Do'Urden.
Note: This trick requires a strong weapon such as the Chicago
Typewriter or the Broken Butterfly if you have not completed the
game yet. When the fight starts, shoot his lesser eyes on his
leg. When he collapses, shoot the eye in his mouth to inflict
damage greater than the knife. This strategy is very useful in
pro mode, where about ten stabs will get Ada to throw the special
launcher. However, it requires three exclusive Handcannon shots
to get Ada to throw the special launcher. After that, two more
shots will kill him.
budokai_2.
You will need a lot of recovery items (buy them from the merchant
before the battle), the Striker Shot gun, the Killer 7 magnum,
and the Combat Vest. When you start the battle, Sadler's parasite
will appear. Quickly run over the falling bridge and go to the
side. Go up the ladder and pull the switch when he gets close.
Run back across and do the same thing. Then, take out his four
eyes with the shotgun (recommended) or any other weapon. Land
hits with the magnum on his large eye. After you take out the
eyes on his legs, Ada will throw you the Rocket Launcher special.
Use it on Sadler's giant eye to finish the job. After the battle,
collect the 10,000 Pesatas and run for the jetski.
LUNARK07.
Just before you enter to fight Saddler, there is a merchant up
the hill from the elevator. Buy a rocket launcher. Note: Do not
sell all your previous guns. If possible, keep at least one (shotgun
recommended). Once done, enter the elevator and ride it up to
see Ada hanging. Wait until Saddler transforms and let the battle
begin. Keep your distance as much as you can until you see an
eyeball on one of Saddler's legs. Quickly and as accurate as possible
take out your shotgun and give that eye a good shot. This should
bring Saddler down for a few seconds. Do not wait to watch him
fall to his knees, as he gets back up almost instantly. Instead,
bring out your rocket launcher and shoot the eyeball that was
in his mouth. This should get Ada to toss you a second rocket
launcher. Work your way up to the higher part of the arena. It
may take some time to get there because the two bridges on either
side will drop, then reconnect. Use some fast thinking and press
L and R, or A and B to jump to the
higher part if the bridge drops on you. Once you are up there,
the first thing you want to go for is the rocket launcher that
Ada threw. Once you grab it, turn and look towards Saddler. At
this time you may want to take back out your shotgun or the gun
that you previously used to shoot the eye on his leg. Watch Saddler
and for the pipes he throws at you. For this, simply use the button
command to dodge them. After awhile, usually when the bridge reconnects,
he will jump to the side you are on. He may try to get as close
to you as he can. If this happens run as fast as possible to the
opposite side of where he is located. Once you get your distance,
turn towards Saddler and shoot out one of the eyes on his legs
again. When he falls, again take out the rocket launcher and shoot
his eye in the mouth. Note: Do not worry about any items during
the fight. If you are fast enough you should be able to get them
after the battle.
Elmo Amador.
Buy two unlimited rocket launchers and shoot him once then in
the eye ball. If you want to make the fight more difficult, use
only a handgun and knife. At the beginning of the fight, run away
from him until the eyeballs in his legs appear. When this happens,
go near and climb him. Then, quickly run towards the little stage
at the end of the platform and climb the ladder. Be careful because
Saddler throws steel pipes quickly. When Saddler gets near the
small platform, activate the wrecking machine and the pipes will
hit him. Then, go down and climb him. Run away from him to the
main platform and wait until he comes near the red barrel. Shoot
the barrel and it will explode, allowing you to climb him. Shoot
an eyeball from his legs and climb him again. Then, go to the
other platform and wait until he jumps over there. When he jumps,
run to the platform quickly and activate the machine. Climb him
again and stab. There will now be a barrel. Wait until Saddler
is next to it. Shoot it, then climb the back. When you shoot an
eyeball in his leg and climb him the eight or ninth time, Ada
will come out and give you the special rocket launcher. Shoot
Saddler with it and it should kill him. Get the keys and go down
the elevator. Note: Do not shoot Saddler with the special rocket
launcher at close range. You will either miss or kill him and
yourself.
Undertaker520634.
It is possible to defeat Saddler without the Special Rocket Launcher.
Buy the mine gun. Shoot it at his torso and he will drop instantly.
Then, climb up on him and stab his eye. Run to each level on the
platforms to hit him with steel beams. After the mine gun ammunition
is expended, shoot him in the eyes on his legs to bring him down.
Continue to stab his eye. After you dispose of all his leg eyes,
Ada will throw you the rocket launcher. Just bring him down to
the ground with any weapon and stab his eye. He will eventually
die, and you will have a brand new Special Rocket Launcher that
you can sell or use when you start a new game.
Kyle Hendrickson.
To defeat Saddler with very little effort, keep the Broken Butterfly
from the Castle stage. Upgrade it to at least level 4 firepower.
During the final Boss fight with Saddler, shoot the eyes that
appear on his legs until he reveals the eye in his head. Then,
shoot him with the magnum. This should kill him in two or three
hits. For a one hit kill, upgrade it fully before the fight. Note:
In the third stage (the whole island part), the Boss difficulty
is determined by the number of guns that you own, the current
upgrade status of them, along with the amount of health items
and the amount of ammunition you have -- your results may vary.
Kyle Morgan.
As soon as you get to the island, start saving your hand grenades.
By the time you get to Saddler you should have at least ten. When
the fight starts, throw a hand grenade underneath Saddler and
walk backwards a little to avoid being grabbed by him. When he
is down, climb on top of him and stab him in his main eye. Keep
repeating this process and Ada will throw you the rocket launcher.
If you are lucky, you will not get any damage from Saddler.
Regina Fletcher.
Hint: Defeating Salazar:
Note: This trick requires the Basic Sniper Rifle fully
upgraded with the Exclusive Upgrade. Make a note of the dodge
actions at various times during this battle. Start off by running
to the side of the platform on the top. Quickly shoot the tentacle
in front of you, making sure that you dodge if needed. With the
upgraded sniper, shoot the tentacle retracts with one shot. Ignore
Salazar's eye and other tentacles. Only focus on the tentacle
closest to you. After some point, Salazar himself will emerge
from the upper back of the monster. Use your sniper to pick him
off. After you get about two shots in, he will go back into hiding.
By now that tentacle should have returned. Shoot it once to take
care of it for awhile. Repeat the process of shooting Salazar
and the tentacle, and the battle will cause Leon to take little
damage. If you run out of ammunition for the sniper rifle, either
drop down and look for more in the barrels (but be prepared to
fight the spider-like parasites or run pass them), or use your
Punisher to snipe Salazar and just dodge the tentacle.
Drizzt Do'Urden.
When you are in the castle, you may find a rocket launcher in
the room where you must make a bridge to get to the other side.
Take the rocket launcher but do not use it. Wait for your fight
with Salazar to use it to end Chapter 4 easily. Immediately before
the Boss battle with Salazar, take the TMP, the rocket launcher,
some herbs, and a shotgun (Striker recommended, but the Riot Gun
works). When you enter the room, watch Salazar fuse with the monster,
then get to work. Use the shotgun or TMP on the tentacle to your
left until it goes away. Grab the item that is at the end then
fire with the TMP until Salazar appears. Then, equip that rocket
launcher and fire for a one hit kill. Get the 30,000 or 50,000
Peseta that he drops. This will pays for the rocket you used,
and you will save health for the next chapter. Once the Pesata
is collected, go down into the pit and pick up the remaining items.
You can then leave and proceed to Chapter 5.
Kevin James.
You must have the Broken Butterfly or Killer 7, and the striker
or riot shotgun. When you run into the room a sequence will begin.
Make sure to have the shotgun (striker or the riot) equipped.
Do not use the pump action, as it slightly slow. Once the sequence
ends, shoot him in his left eye, which is the yellow one, until
another sequence starts, showing the true Salazar. As soon as
you have control of Leon, quickly equip the Magnum. Note: They
should be upgraded in power and firing speed. Shoot him repeatedly
until he dies. It should take around six or more shots, depending
on your aim and the Magnum that you use. All this should take
no more than thirty seconds to a minute and a half if you do not
have the Magnum powered up. If you do not kill him with the first
attempt when it opens up, you may have to repeat the process.
Niche549.
Use the following trick to defeat Salazar in under thirty seconds.
You need the rocket launcher you find in the gallery and a Broken
Butterfly magnum (preferably with two firepower upgrades). As
soon as the fight starts, aim at his eye with the Broken Butterfly.
When his "shell" thing opens up to show the midget,
blast him with the rocket launcher.
David O'byrne.
Use the following trick to kill Salazar when he combines himself
with Verdugo. Go to the left corner of the room. This will make
you be immune to any attacks he basically tries to use. When the
giant mouth tries to eat you, it will not work. Shoot the tentacle
above you and the tentacle on the other side without moving. Red9
is the most recommended gun to take out the tentacles. After they
retract, quickly take out your TMP or a rocket launcher and fire
at the little blob, which is Salazar. Sit there and shoot. Do
not be afraid if the giant mouth reaches for you. It will not
kill you because it cannot reach you. Buy a Red9 and upgrade it
all the time, along with your TMP (stock for both).
Edgar Del Viento.
Buy a rocket launcher at the merchant just before you enter the
Boss battle. After the intermission sequence (when Salazar transforms),
shoot the striker out then shoot the eye of Salazar's transformed
left hand until he opens his egg. Then, take out the rocket launcher
and shoot Salazar. You will get 50,000 Pesetas.
james gaines.
To defeat Salazar, you need most weapons fully upgraded, like
a shotgun, TMP, Punisher, Broken Butterfly or a Killer 7, and
mine thrower. At the start of the fight, take out your shotgun
and go left to get the herb and shotgun shells. Then, go to the
right side of the room to avoid getting eaten when his head spreads
out. Make sure you avoid all his attacks. Then, in clean shots
get Salazar in the eye. After the fourth clean shot, he should
come out from hiding. At this point, take out a mine thrower and
shoot him twice until the head recovers. Then, if you have ammunition,
shoot the eye ball with another mine dart and let it explode.
The head should lower down, allowing you to hit Salazar. Take
your TMP and keep shooting him until he recovers. Keep shooting
the eye ball with your magnum. Keep doing this with different
weapons every time he is defenseless and he should die. Note:
If you run out of your main weapon ammunition, use the fully upgraded
Punisher. Keep shooting the eye ball and he should die using no
more than forty shots with all the damage done.
Undertaker520634.
Get enough money to buy a rocket launcher. Use it on Salazar when
he pops out. He should fall in the one shot.
Pimalaa.
When the battle starts, run to your right then turn right again.
You should be given an option to jump down. Do so, then run towards
the two barrels. Quickly smash them, then run to the corner of
which the left barrel was at. This should be the corner on the
right when facing Salazar. This is the only location where Salazar
cannot get you, but you can still get him. The speed of this battle
depends on the guns you have. The fastest way is to use a rocket
launcher. Do not just blast it; you will just waste your rocket.
While you are down there, there will be plenty of little scorpion-like
things trying to attack you. Keep them at bay with a handgun or
shotgun. They should start getting close every ten to fifteen
seconds. In between these times, take out your rifle and aim for
the green eye on the huge monster's face. When you get a clear
shot, take it. Do not forget to take out your handgun or shotgun
to kill the little scorpion things every few seconds. Repeat this
until you see Salazar come out. At this time, take out your rocket
launcher and fire at his head. This should kill him. If you do
not have a rocket launcher, simply shoot Salazar's head with the
rifle until he dies. This will take much longer and is much harder.
You should not have to worry about running out of ammunition.
The scorpion things should leave plenty of it.
Elmo Amador.
Make sure you have a mine thrower and a rocket launcher. Upgrade
the damage range on the mine thrower at least one level. When
the battle begins, hit the big head with the mine thrower. This
should make Salazar appear in one hit. Simply shoot him with the
rocket launcher to defeat him. If done fast enough, he should
not have enough time to attack you.
dyveira.
Hint: Defeating Verdugo:
To defeat Salazar's right-hand man (Verdugo) quickly,
make sure you have a rocket launcher. Then, tip over a freeze
canister and shoot him with a rocket to make him explode. You
will get a Crown Jewel that fits into a Royal Crown.
Erik Lazo.
If you are able to, purchase the Infinite Rocket Launcher. When
you start the fight properly, when he comes down from the ceiling
it will take two direct hits to defeat him normally. Note: Make
sure you have full health. You can also use the normal and special
rocket launchers with the same method.
Jacob Wetherall.
Hint: Defeating the armored opponents:
Try not to get surrounded by them. Make sure they are
in a group. Take out whatever rifle you have and shoot them all
in the head until the snake thing appears. Wait until they are
all like, then throw a flash grenade to kill all of them at once.
This works well on all of them, and saves ammunition.
Gabriel Sanchez.
Hint: Defeating chainsaw men:
When you meet a man with the chainsaw, shoot him with
the shotgun and incendiary grenades. You can also just use your
handgun, but you will probably get killed. Note: The shotgun is
found in the building that is diagonal from the tower.
laura.
Shoot the chainsaw man in the head or stomach with a TMP. Make
sure you have over 150 rounds of ammunition, as the chainsaw men
are strong and fat. They will not die easily with less than 100
TMP rounds.
Undertaker520634.
The first chainsaw man you encounter is in the house after you
are almost choked to death. Go down the steps. Before going in
the room, turn right and enter the bathroom. Be prepared for one
of the monsters. Then, enter the dining room. In one corner of
the room is a save point. Use it. Do not shoot your gun. Walk
to the oven to your left. Open it and get the egg. Wover to the
fireplace and walk by it into the other room. In the tall bookcase
is an incendiary grenade. Slash the case with your knife and get
the grenade. Now equipped your rifle, walk through the door. Do
not kick it. Take two or three steps and zoom in with your scope
towards the fence. Look for the chainsaw man. Shoot him between
the eyes then run back up the stairs. Turn and equip the incendiary
grenade. When he is halfway up the stairs, throw it at him. Run
by and get to the door. Run all the way. You can stop to fight
but listen carefully for his chain saw revving. If you hear it,
run forward and get to the other doors before you lose your head.
mal9353.
Hint: Bypass chainsaw man encounters:
When you enter the town, kill everyone. When the second
wave of people arrives, also kill all of them. You can then go
into the house and they will not come out.
Markmonster25.
During the mine cart section of Chapter 4-2, the mine car will
stop and lots of enemies and two chainsaw men will load into the
stopped cars. To avoid most of this encounter, be in the front
car and immediately shoot the switch. The cars will start moving,
and you will have only have about four enemies to kill.
IAM113.
Hint: Defeating the chainsaw sisters:
Soon after the farmhouse raid (where Louis helps you
then mysteriously dismisses himself from Leon and Ashley), you
will reach a place where you will find a merchant, a typewriter
for saving, and in the distance, a fortress containing two pathways.
A lever is needed to open both doors on either the left or right
side. Depending on which side you choose, the right door will
take you to El Gigante and the left door will take you to a frustrating
battle between two mad chainsaw women. This battle can be easy
if you use the right tactics. As soon as you rid all the other
zombies from getting in your and Ashley's way, hide Ashley in
one of the red dumpsters located in the beginning of the path,
or on the top of the fortress. You will see a "battle ring"
of some sort just below you. Jump down and a brief intermission
sequence will show you the two zombie menaces with chainsaws.
Instead of staying in the ring waiting to be decapitated, use
a flash grenade to stun all the other distracting zombies, including
the two chainsaw sisters. If you do not have any grenades of some
sort, quickly run to the nearest ladder. While they are stunned,
run to the nearest ladder and climb it. Run to the farthest place
where there is a lot of space. This tactic also gives you time
to reload or prepare for the swarm of zombies coming after you.
Shortly afterwards, when the zombie crowd reaches you, throw a
grenade at them, or shoot them. When you see the chainsaw sisters,
shoot them first, as they are much faster and can do more damage.
It takes a lot to kill them, but they do fall to their knees or
flat on their back when shot with a rifle or shotgun. You will
know if you have killed a chainsaw sister when a colored beam
glows from her body. One of the sisters has an item on her, while
the other contains a Camp Key. If this technique does not work
the first time, keep trying--it is better than being mauled in
a ring full of zombies.
CHRIS PERRY.
Note: This will only work if you have at least 30,000 Pestas.
An easier way to defeat the chainsaw sisters is to buy a rocket
launcher. Do not use it until you are in the arena-like area.
Take out your rocket launcher before you go down the ladder. The
chainsaw women will come out, accompanied by some other people
and go after you. Aim at the nearest one and shoot her. When you
do, Leon will duck down and flame will go everywhere. If done
at the correct moment, both of them should be dead. Only two or
three people will be remaining. Take them out and continue.
MSG51488.
First, stash Ashley. Then, take out any Ganados you see. Climb
up the ladder and drop down in the pit. The sisters will eventually
make their appearance. As soon as they do, go back to the door
that you used to enter. Let them come to you and take them all
out. It is recommended that you have the TMP, shotgun, and any
kind of grenade (preferably incendiary or flash). Use the shotgun
first, then the grenades, then finally the TMP. Aim for their
legs to save time.
Pimalaa.
When you approach the "battle pit" where the chainsaw
sisters battle begins, go around and knock down the ladder on
the other side of the pit. Go to the other ladder (located on
the opposite side of the ladder you knocked down). Jump down besides
the ladder. The intermission sequence will start and the battle
will begin. Immediately climb back up the ladder and knock it
down. Then, just shoot them in the head. Any time you see one
trying to set up the ladder, shoot them first. They will stop
to pick up the ladder, which gives time to shoot them before they
can set it up. This will cause them to drop the ladder. If they
set up the ladder in front of you and one is climbing it, shoot
them in the face when you see them approaching the top and kick
the ladder back down. Regularly check to make sure no villagers
are coming from either side of you. By doing this it is possible
to defeat the chainsaw sisters without getting touched once, using
only the basic handgun. If you use the shotgun or Punisher, the
battle can end faster. Also, avoid using the rifle as it takes
longer to shoot and can give the villagers too much time to set
up and climb the ladders. The key is to make sure that they never
get the ladders set back up. Once they are all dead (the chainsaw
sisters should be the last two alive), you can hop down, grab
all the goods, then set the ladder back up if desired.
Bobby Nickens.
In the part where you can choose our path to either El Gigante
or the chainsaw sisters, you can go left and fight them. When
you first enter and there is a ladder, get the sisters to follow
you. Go down the ladder. Once they come down, go up and knock
it down. Note: Make sure you have killed everyone else. As they
get to the top of the ladder, knock it down. Do this repeatedly
and after awhile it will kill them.
brad rupert.
Use the following trick when fighting the chainsaw sisters in
the Story mode (when given the choice of right or left and they
are the left option). You will be attacked by villagers as soon
as you enter the left area. Dispose of them without shooting the
wagon full of explosives. Make your way around to the ladder to
climb up onto the platforms (avoiding the pitchfork person). Kill
all the villagers before jumping down into the arena. Find the
ledge where you can jump down next to the explosive wagon. Next,
go all the way around the arena to the ladder on the far side.
Jump down into the arena and the chainsaw sisters will spawn.
Immediately run across to the ladder in front of you. Jump down
next to the explosive wagon and run over to near the entrance
door. Hold down the villagers so they stay next to the wagon until
the chainsaw sisters are down next to the wagon. Set off the explosives
and to complete the battle easily.
Jappatat.
Hint: Defeating the prison Boss:
When inside the castle, an obstacle blocks your path
(two fire breathing statues) To shut it off, you must enter the
prison (the key is on a painting near the obstacle). When you
go into the prison, equip either the TMP or shotgun and tell Ashley
to wait atop the stairs. After the intermission sequence showing
what the boss looks like, kick down the cell door and get close
to the switch to initiate the battle. If you go up the stairs
to try to escape, the door will shut. Try walking as much as possible,
as he is sensitive to sound. You can use the bells at each end
of the prison by shooting at them, but they can only be used once.
Stay close to walls so that he gets stuck when he tries to attack
you. Do your best to avoid his attacks, as they take much damage
and there is only one Green Herb in the area. His only weakness
is the spider thing on his back. When he is stuck in a wall, concentrate
all of your firepower on the the weak point until he recuperates.
After awhile, he will let his guard down and walk around. This
is when he is most vulnerable, besides when he is stuck in a wall.
Repeat this as many times as needed to kill him. When you put
Ashley atop the steps, she is out of harm's way.
squee4221.
Make sure that he is closer to the bell than he is to you. Shoot
it with your handgun. If he is closer to you, he hears the gunshot.
Then, switch to the rifle and aim just in front of the bell. If
you aimed well and timed your shot correctly, you can shoot him
in the back before he destroys the bell.
Luke.
Whenever you first open the gate to the prison, run out to the
opposite wall. Turn your back to the wall and remain still. If
you do not move, the prison Boss cannot hear you. He will eventually
walk around with his claws shortened. When he retracts his claws,
wait for him to turn his back to you. Whenever you have a clear
shot, shoot the small creature on his back with your most powerful
weapon (besides grenades). He should turn and run after you. He
will extend his claws and try to stab you. However, because you
are up against the wall, you can easily side-step him and he will
get his claws stuck in the wall. You must time when you side-step
precisely. Whenever he gets his claws stuck in the wall, run to
the opposite wall and turn your back to it. Remain still and he
will eventually retract his claws again. After that, just keep
repeating. It may take as many as five to ten times to kill him.
Also, you should use the bells on the walls to your advantage.
They can only be used once, but they are a good way to get his
back exposed. However, make sure that the Boss is closer to the
bells than to you are, as he will hear the gunshot rather than
the bell if he is nearby. If you use this method, you should not
take any hits or waste much ammunition.
WILLIAM TYNES.
Stand at the opposite wall. Make sure you are directly next to
one of the bells. When he turns around, shoot him on the spider
on the back as many times as possible. After he recovers he will
run towards you and try to kill you. If you move at correct moment,
he will get stuck in the wall next to the bell. Shoot him in the
back again and wait until he recovers before he charges at you.
Shoot the bell. He should get stuck. Shoot him with your Punisher
or handgun. Do this three or four times. During the third time
you do this, shoot him with a shotgun and he will die. If not,
keep doing it again until he is finally defeated.
Undertaker520634.
Hint: Avoiding the prison Boss:
Use the following trick to avoid the prison Boss the
second time. When you go into the room where you get locked in
a cage, stay on the sides and move to the left where the furniture
is. Then, instead of fighting one person at a time and the prison
Boss, you will fight two people at once with no prison Boss.
Richard Duncan.
Hint: Defeating Iron Maidens:
After the part where you rescue Ashley on the island,
there will be a part where you must jump into the trash pile.
After the jumping sequence, you will realize that Ashley is sitting
on an Iron Maiden. There is a way to escape it. Quickly run towards
the gate and open it. Shoot the Iron Maiden to make it back off,
then quickly get on the other side of the gate and close it. The
Iron Maiden cannot use a switch, so it is stuck. You can get rid
of it. The other one is a few feet away. Past the second gate
will be a dumpster that you will have to push. Push it, and wait
a few seconds. The second Iron Maiden will be engaging you already.
Just kill as you would do to a regular one. However if you are
not quick, you can use the square path that is there to get the
parasite in its back.
Brandon Carvalho.
Hint: Defeating Regenerators:
Use the following trick to defeat the enemy Regenerator
and Iron Maiden. You do not need a special scope to kill them.
Buy the Killer 7 Magnum and use it on them. After three or four
shots, they will go down. Shoot it in the sheet until there is
a hole. Then, shoot its head. After that, the body will explode
then the legs will fall over and leave 5,000 gold.
Mark Rivenburgh.
Another way to kill the Regenerator creatures is to shoot their
head or chest with the shotgun. Then, blast a leg away. It will
fall on the ground. Then, take out an incinerator grenade (the
red ones) and let him have it. If done correctly, he will burn
on the ground and die.
wackycam.
Use the following trick to kill the last Regenerator, in the jail
cell. Run straight until you get to the ledge. Climb up. He should
just be a few feet away. Take a grenade, wait until he is near
the ledge, and throw it. It does not matter how long you take
with the grenade because Regenerators cannot climb.
Brandon Carvalho.
Shoot them with a shotgun in the head and the arms followed by
the legs so that he will fall. While on his stomach, shoot him
in the back once and he should die.
bsstark.
Hint: Defeating dogs:
The zombie dogs are brown colored. You will find one
in the beginning. The zombie dogs will not attack you until you
meet the "Big Cheese", as Leon calls him. The dogs will
have parasites sticking out of them after chapter 3. A shotgun
will kill them easily. Note: Do not kill the white dog in the
trap. It will help you fight the ogre Boss.
GameWizKid.
You can shoot the white dog in the head and it will be released
from its trap and run away. It will still helped in the Gigante
fight. Note: A stronger gun might kill it.
Luke.
Hint: Defeating the giant leech:
Lure the leech back to the front end of the pool then
fire a shot from your gun at the gas can where your unlock the
boat. The can explodes, killing the giant leech.
Terry.
Hint: Defeating human zombies:
If you are low on ammunition, try to avoid these enemies.
The zombies have orange eyes. When killed, the parasite in them
will come out of their heads. Stay away from it and shoot it from
a distance. If you are too close, the parasite will cut your head
off.
GameWizKid.
Hint: Defeating evil cult members:
When you fighting the evil cult at anytime, shoot their
legs and bring them their knees. Leon will do a suplex instead
of a kick. It is very effective.
Gabriel Sanchez.
Hint: Defeating two men with claws:
When battling these two characters in a hall, simply
move slowly to the end of the hall. If they hear you and start
attacking, run and slow down. You can either go through the door
or have some fun and hide behind one and shoot the other. The
one you shoot will attack, but since you are behind one you are
safe.
Cam Leake.
Hint: Defeating Novistadors:
Novistadors are the giant insects that you encounter
mostly underground. They can be difficult if left alive for too
long. They have a habit of jumping at you, spewing acid all over,
and repeating this until you break them off or die. They also
bend light around themselves, becoming mostly invisible. You can
see them if you look carefully, especially for their glowing eyes.
Blast them a few times with the shotgun from close range, or from
afar with the semi-auto rifle or regular rifle. If they are airborne,
shoot them once with the handgun in the air. They will go down
with a single shot, but may also fall into a crevice or gap. If
this happens, you will lose all the pickups, pesetas, ammo or
the unique eye treasures they hold. Note: If you picked up the
Thermal Scope when you completed the game and saved it until the
point you encounter Novistadors, you can use the Thermal Scope
to see them easier.
weberkki.
If you are able to hit the flying insect enemies in the cave area
while they are airborne, they will die in just one hit. Any weapon
works, though the shotgun is recommended. This will help conserve
your ammunition. If they manage to land, you will use about three
to four shogun rounds from a Stock Striker (firepower 6.0).
GUILTYLightZer0.
Hint: Defeating villagers:
The villagers are very common, and are the weakest
of Los Ganados or "the cattle". They go down with a
few well placed headshots. Alternately, shoot them once in the
head, once in the knee, then go close and kick them. They should
go down easily like this under the pro difficulty setting. Otherwise,
just headshot and kick, or kneeshot, kick and finish off with
the knife. Note: Always finish downed Ganados with the knife to
save ammunition, except if you cannot reach them.
weberkki.
Use the following trick to easily pick off villagers during the
first visit to the village. When you first get to the village,
go inside the building with a red dumpster near the door. After
the intermission sequence, go behind the stairs to get a few items.
Then, go upstairs. Get the shotgun on the wall and shatter the
glass to get a grenade. Look on the bed for shotgun ammunition.
Jump out the window that is next to the cabinet. Once you are
out, throw down the ladders. Then, go around to the other side
of the house. There will be a person here. Dispose of him and
stand where he was. Turn around to face the path you used and
just shoot the villagers that get near you. If Dr. Salvador appears,
just shoot him. If he gets too close, jump off the house.
Knuckles7734.
Hint: Defeating villagers with torches:
Some villagers have torches. If those villagers come
close to you, they can do two things. If they hit you with the
torch, shoot their head or take a step back. If they will blow
on the torch and try to burn you, shoot at their body and they
will burn themselves.
Martijn Muis.
Hint: Defeating the village chief:
His weak point is his spine. This important body part
is best targeted with the shotgun and the TMP. Bitors has a devastating
lunge attack that you must dodge. Watch his arms. They will flinch
just before he attacks. Keep hitting the spine and eventually
he will break in two. Bitors will get up and start swinging around
the cross beams. Climb up the ladder and blast the half village
chief when he gets too close. Keep shooting him and he will be
dead in no time.
Stinkytaco.
Hint: Defeating zealots:
Zealots are the hooded Ganados in the castle area.
They are tough, and take more punishment than your average Ganado.
Watch out if the parasite in them pops out of their heads. They
have a nasty habit of chomping your head off in a single bite
when they get close. Otherwise, use the shotgun at close range
and blast off their heads. Alternately, use a handgun and make
several headshots, a knee shot, and when he is kneeling go close
and suplex him down. Leon will suplex them down instead of kicking.
The suplex is more powerful than the kick, but it does not knock
down others around you like the kick. There does not seem to be
a way to switch between the kneeling kick and the kneeling suplex;
the headshot/flash blind attack is always a kick.
weberkki.
Hint: Fooling Ganados:
When any Ganados are in front of you, quickly press
Up + B then back up. The Ganados will swing a weapon
at you and miss. This gives you a chance to knife or shoot them.
This also works on the chainsaw maniacs.
Joe Alvarado.
Hint: Defeating the two hallway Ganados:
To defeat them, take out a rocket launcher and fire
at the doors in the back of the room. Note: When you enter the
area, do not take a single step to avoid arousing the cultist.
theshultzclan.
Hint: Another way out:
At the start of the game, before you enter the house,
go to the side of it and break the window with your knife. After
you kill the villager, run up the stairs, get the ammunition,
run back down, and jump through the window you broke earlier to
get outside without getting ambushed. Note: If you are noticed
immediately for any reason (for example, forgetting to break the
glass), you will be cornered and hurt badly.
john baltitas.
Hint: Cabin: Extra ammunition:
When in the cabin with Luis fighting the Ganados coming
through the windows, stand by Luis for a few minutes. He will
eventually start throwing handgun ammunition to you. He will continue
doing this until he tells you to go upstairs.
Jacob Walsh.
Hint: Cabin: Surviving:
When in the cabin with Luis, push one of the bookshelves
over one window. This will leave you one you do not need to worry
about until it breaks. Wait until the bookshelf that was moved
breaks and all the villagers standing there come through. Do not
stay and fight. Go halfway up the stairs and kill any that are
coming up. Allow Louis do all the fighting downstairs( he has
unlimited health ). When your starting to become overwhelmed on
the stairs, go all the way up. When Luis gets upstairs, throw
an incinerating grenade at the steps only when the swarm of villagers
are near the top. This will set a mass of villagers aflame. Some
villagers will start coming through the windows. -- knock down
the ladders. If you see one approaching the window, shoot him
and he will fall to his death. Make sure that you have a shotgun
to deal with the villagers that have the viruses in their head.
If all goes well and you balance your combat with the ones coming
through the windows and those coming upstairs, you will win.
XAncientWuX.
Hint: Cabin: Two paths:
During the game you will get ambushed by a lot of villagers
and be forced to hide in a cabin. Block as many doors and windows
as possible, then go by the stairs and equip the shotgun. Zombies
will eventually find their way in. Blast away. Do not worry about
your partner, as he can take care of himself. If things get too
rough, go upstairs and take out the zombies. When things start
getting too hot, the zombies will back off. When you exit and
pull the lever, you will have a choice to make. The left way takes
you to the Chainsaw Sisters. The right way takes you to a giant
zombie. When you take the left way you will be in a mine. Hide
Ashley in an iron box near by. When you get down to the lower
level, the Chainsaw Sisters will appear. Go head back to the entrance
and fire at them with the shotgun. When they are dead, pick up
the ruby and the Camp Key. If you chose to go to the right, you
will encounter a huge zombie. Drop a bolder on him then run and
shoot the chains off the door and get the Old Key. Drop another
bolder on the zombie to stun him. You cannot stash Ashley on this
level. Make sure that she gets first aid. When the parasite appears,
slice it off.
Stinkytaco.
Hint: Castle: Broken Butterfly:
When you are in the area where you are just about see
the intermission sequence with Luis dying, there will be a door
that lets you know that you will need another person for it. After
you get Ashley back, return to this door. Give Ashley a piggyback
and she will open the door. Inside will be a lot of treasure,
and the powerful Broken Butterfly. You do not have to buy it from
the merchant or sell it for money.
Gabriel Sanchez.
Note: The strongest Magnum is not the Killer 7. When you tune
up and buy the exclusive option of the Broken Butterfly its power
will increase to 50.0, far stronger than the Killer 7's 35.0.
You can kill a Boss in four shots.
Neil Peart.
Hint: Castle: Knights:
When you are on the board to get the King's grail,
you will become trapped in the place with the knights. For the
first round of knights, use the shotgun. If you have a Magnum,
do not use it yet. The second round comes with feathers on their
heads. Use the magnum (Killer 7 recommended). In the room should
be a Green Herb and ten shotgun shells. Collect them and the grail.
chris vaughn.
When you are getting the King's Grail to unlock the King And Queen
door, there are six knights that can be difficult to deal with
if you do not fight them correctly. Instead of bringing Ashley
into the room with you, tell her to wait before you run in. This
will allow you to fight the knights without worrying about her
safety. Collect all the items in the room before taking the grail.
When the knights start walking toward you, equip the shotgun and
back into a corner so you can see all of them. Wait until they
get close, but not close enough that they can attack you, then
shoot them in the helmet to stun them. Run to the other side and
repeat until the Las Plagas pop out of their heads. Continue to
shoot them in head but be cautious of the Las Plagas, as they
will rip your head off in one bite. This will allow you to defeat
them rather quickly. After you defeat the first three, three more
knights will appear. Do not let your guard down. Note: Knights
may not become stunned, so be ready to run. They raise their weapons
quite slowly so you should be able to avoid getting hit. Do not
turn your back on them. Also, use a shotgun that has been moderately
upgraded. At least fifteen to twenty shotgun shells will be required.
mike.
Hint: Castle: Easy money:
Look behind every painting of Saddler to find 5,000
Pesetas.
Hint: Castle: Flying insect nest:
If you are in the castle and have passed the sequence
where spikes come down to you, shoot the red lights. After that,
you will be in a big room with a giant flying insects nest. A
sequence will begin where one flying insect captures Ashley from
you. In the middle of the room hangs a big nest of them. Shoot
the nest with two magnum bullets. A sequence with the nest will
falling down will begin. Pick up the items that sparkle on the
ground and sell them for a big price to the merchant.
Martijn Muis.
Hint: Castle: Easy Zealot battle:
Go in the room just before the Gallery, in the castle.
When you have to defeat the platoon of Zealots and the Red Cow-Skulled
Zealot with the hidden chaingun in the center of the room, there
is a way to bypass the chaingun all together. When you are chasing
the Red Cow-Skulled Zealot around the room, if you have the Broken
Butterfly with upgraded firepower (over 27) when he runs down
the stairs to the bottom floor, move quickly enough to see him
about halfway down. Take out your Magnum, and shoot him. He will
fall to the ground. Shoot him two or three more times (depending
on how powerful your Magnum is). This will effectively kill him,
and he will drop the Gallery Key. No chaingun dodging will be
necessary, and you will save a lot of ammunition.
Tyler Christenson.
Hint: Cemetery: Eye in the sky:
When you reach the cemetery part of the town, kill
the two Ganados, then stand in the middle of the cemetery. Look
up and "seek" for an eye-like thing. It seems to be
reactions of the Illuminado's blood on Leon's body.
tedgui.
Hint: Church: Getting the Green Catseye:
In Chapter 1-3 in the church, turn right. Go to the
small path at the back of the church. You will see a blinking
object. Get near it, then press A to check. After that,
first rotate seven times using option 3, another five times using
option 4, then one more time with option 3. You will hear a sound
and can now get the Green Catseye.
Undertaker.
Hint: Church: Unlimited villagers:
When you first get to the church, defeat everyone in
the area. Then, return to the church and shoot the bell above.
Villagers will arrive in a groups of three to six Gonados. You
can continue this process as you see fit.
Teague Ense.
Hint: Church: Getting items:
After you get the key after being choked by Chief Mendez,
gi to the church and kill everyone. You can then shoot the bell
above the church. You should hear "There! He is there!"
and a group of Gonados should be in the graveyard. This process
can be repeated five times or less, but they drop items for your
inventory.
Teague Ense.
Hint: Church: Revenge:
After you rescue Ashley from the church and the intermission
sequence where two Goth Gonados fire upon you, you can go back
inside and get revenge.
Teague Ense.
Hint: Church: Ring bell:
At the church where you rescue Ashley, you can shoot
at the bell outside and it will ring.
Jacob Bratek.
Shoot the bell in order for more zombies to come running through
the graveyard towards the church.
Jake Miller.
Hint: Farmhouse: Surviving the raid:
An intermission sequence will start when you are escorting
Ashley across a bridge. A large crowd shows up and you will run
into a farmhouse. After the sequence ends and you are inside the
house with Lou, push the bookcases in front of the windows and
go to the bottom of the staircase. Using the shotgun is recommended,
but the pistol works fine. Once they are able to gain entrance
to the house, aim high and fire until they are all knocked down.
Then, reload and repeat until Lou tells you to head up stairs.
When you do this, go over to the windows and knock down the ladders.
After that is done, go to the edge of the stairs and kill everyone
that is coming up Grenades work the best for this. After they
are taken care of, rush back to the windows and knock down the
ladders once again. Repeat this until the sequence plays when
they retreat.
squee4221.
Once in the farmhouse, collect all the items while pushing the
shelves against the windows. Stand in the corner by the stairs
with Luis and fire until he tells you to go upstairs. Once up,
stand in northwest corner (when facing down the stairs), and concentrate
on firing in the direction of the stairs and pushing down the
two ladders in that corner so that you do not become surrounded.
patman424.
Because the raid continues until you kill a certain number, block
two windows and shoot out the third until the enemies break in.
Then, block the third window and deal with the other two. This
allows you to get several kills in before it starts getting hectic.
Luke.
Hint: Lava room:
In the area where the room is filled with lava, enemies
will appear on pillars with horses that shoot fire at you. Instead
of waiting for a clear shot to shoot the man on the pillar, simply
shoot at the chain that is holding the pillar. If one of the chains
breaks, the entire pillar will fall. This makes it easier to get
through the room. If you queue all of the pillars to appear and
shoot them all down, once you shoot the last one down no more
enemies will appear in the room, even the ones that fall from
the ceiling.
Christopher M. Rhoads.
Hint: Sewer: Black Bass recovery:
You can kill the fish and use them as recovery items
in the sewer area shortly after the beginning of Chapter 1-2.
It is a little after the place where you face the two enemies
who throw dynamite at you.
GUILTYLightZer0.
Hint: Mercenaries mini-game: Village: Easy
completion:
Go to the top of the barn (located next to the house
where you found the shotgun in the main game). There is also a
timer under the ladder, and a chest above, and up the ladder.
Go up there and wait for the Los Illuminados to come to you. When
they are mostly packed in, shoot the barrel inside and jump down
quickly. Get what they dropped. Get back up the ladder and repeat.
Note: Do not throw a grenade while there is a flame barrel down
there; it will not do twice the damage. Also, be careful of the
Chainsaw Hags that appear. They will cut off your head if you
get too close. It is best if you are Hunk or Krauser to use the
neck break; and the transformation of Krauser's arm, which kills
them in one hit. With Ada or Wesker, use their sniper rifles until
they are both gone, then jump down, With Leon try grenades, but
it is very difficult.

Hint: Mercenaries mini-game: Good choke
point:
Use the following trick to get an easy five star rank.
In the village, there is a barn. It was blocked in the main game.
This is best donw with Wesker. First, collect all the time and
ammunition and go in the barn. Get the time, climb the ladder,
and knock it down. Get the point increase. By now the Ganados
should be in, including the Bellas. When they are all near, shoot
the barrel and snipe or use the Killer 7 and shoot the sisters.
Use grenades, and if you need to go down throw a flash grenade
and use Hunk's neckbreaker; Krauser's, Leon's, or Ada's kick;
or use Wesker's thrustpunch. Do not let them get up to you.
BugaDBoo.
Hint: Mercenaries mini-game: Playing as
Hunk:
It is best to shoot the Gondos in the head, the perform
a neckbreaker. This will kill an opponent in one snap including
the Chainsaw Sisters and Gondos. This move does not work on J.J.
(Gattling gun man) or the crazy may with the twin-bladed chain
saw.
Randy Rodgers.
Hint: Chapter 2-1 puzzle:
Before the end of the chapter, there is a puzzle in
the church. The puzzle is a simple mix of colors. Three different
designs surround the main design. The colors are red, green, and
blue. When you enter the church, turn to the left and go down
the little hall. Climb the ladder. When you are up there, you
will see that the way to the door is barred. You must get to the
other side of the church by jumping on and off of the chandelier.
On the other side, there is a set of switches. When you activate
it, the puzzle starts. The goal is to turn the designs so when
combined, they are the same as the middle design. Turn red twice,
green three times, and blue once. When combined, it should create
the design. Then, go in and grab Ashley.
Chris Hess.
Hint: Chapter 2-2: Ashley hiding:
When you reach the farm, there will be a metal crane
at the entrance. You can tell Ashley to hide by pressing X
in front of the crane.
Undertaker520634.
Hint: Chapter 2-3: Early Zombie kills at
gondola:
Just as you get to the gondola, go to your left and
equip the sniper rifle. There are two zombies very far off, waiting
for you to board. Snipe these two before you get on the gondola.
Now, all of the enemies will appear from the bottom right corner
of the screen.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Chapter 2-3: Rooftop fun:
Note: This is a fun trick if Ashley is wearing the
Knight Armor. Otherwise, be careful and do not use her for "bait".
When you return to the Pueblo area after rescuing Ashley from
the church, if you are quiet and stealthy enough, you can raid
the southern area of the Pueblo without being seen. Next, go up
to the balcony of the two-story house. There are several good
vantage points here. Use one shot of the sniper rifle to lure
an enemy after you, then run around to the other side of the balcony.
Command Ashley to wait just before you get to the small roof on
the end. Go up on the small roof by yourself, then do a 180 degree
turn and wait for the enemy to approach. They will always go for
Ashley first, so only do this if she is wearing the Knight Armor.
rainbowgemyni.
Vantage Point 1: The corner of the balcony or the small apex right
before it. From here you can snipe the enemies that are waiting
near the northeast exit.
Vantage Point 2: The far corner of the roof at the end of the
balcony. You can spot a few more enemies in the northeast and
southeast directions.
Vantage Point 3: The roof with the chimney. From here you can
see the entire southern region of the Pueblo in 180 degrees from
the western entrance to the tower.
Hint: Chapter 3: Dining room painting:
Look through your sniper rifle at the entire painting.
The only part of the painting that is in 3D is the wine bottle.
You only have to shoot the wine bottle. Do not waste rifle ammo
on the rest of the painting, as there are no extra rewards.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Chapter 3-2: Stealthy cultist kills:
Note: This strategy can be used if you do not have
a rocket launcher. After the prison area with the Novistadors
and immediately after the Pit and Pendulum area, open the door.
You should have a "spy" position on the cultists. Go
to the left-hand corner, "hugging" the wall. When you
get all the way in the corner, slowly take a step or two forward
until you can see three or four cultists. Aim an incendiary or
regular (green) grenade and lob it towards the center of the cluster.
You should get at least eight Spinels, including the Illuminados
Pendant. The best one to use is the green grenade if available.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Chapter 3-2 puzzle:
In Chapter 3-2 you must solve a puzzle to continue.
The puzzle states that six lives should be sacrificed to show
you the true path. Look at the paintings and try to put the ones
that have two men on the guillotine and the other two paintings
should have two bodies hanging. After you assemble the paintings,
select "OK" and a door should appear.
Undertaker520634.
All you have to do is press 1, 2, 3 and 4 then select "OK"
and the path should be open.
Armando Mendez.
Hint: Chapter 3-2: Defeating the sewer
insects:
In Chapters 3-2, immediately after Ashley helps you
get to the other side of the room, she gets trapped in a wall
and gets sent to another room. The wooden door next to you will
lead you to sewers that are infested with insects. To kill the
insects, you must have a regular sniper upgraded two or three
times its firepower, or the shotgun upgraded two or three times
its firepower. When you start take out your sniper and go all
the way to the end, aim at the corner in the opposite wall. You
should see drool. Shoot the drool and it should reveal the insect.
If it is not dead, shoot it again in the head. It should die.
Alternately, take out your shotgun and point at the drool. Shoot
it three or four times. Do this to the rest of the insects and
it should kill them.
Undertaker520634.
Hint: Chapter 3-4 puzzle:
The quickest way to complete the puzzle as Ashley in
3-4 is as follows. The layout of the puzzle's squares is referred
as:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
Press A on the following in this order: 4, 7, 8, 9, 6,
3, 1, 7, 9.
Evil_Kefka.
Hint: Chapter 4-1: Defeating both Claw
enemies:
When you first enter the room with the two Illuminados
and the two Claw enemies, take out your rifle or some other gun
that will take the first Illuminados out in one shot. Then the
Claw enemies will hear you and you should let one of the two come
after you. Run out of the way when he swings at you. There is
a Green Herb to the left in a corner. Shoot the Claw enemy immediately
after you dodge him. Use the Broken Butterfly to shoot him in
the back on his Plaga. Only two shots for each one is required.
After you shoot that one, the other will come after you. Let him
do so, then shoot him. The other one will come after you again.
Shoot him and he will die, leaving you 15,000 Pesetas. Do the
same with the other one, and the same reward will be given. Note:
Do not run away; walk instead. They are blind and get around only
by sound. If you are quiet, this battle will be easy.
Jeff Brown.
Hint: Chapter 5-3: Leon rests:
After you clear the laser rays, you will enter a hallway
with a large fancy brown chair. There will also be an elegant
headdress. Go to the chair, take whatever there is, and a "?"
will appear. Activate it.
Hint: Easy kills:
After you kill the hatchet guy as soon as you start
the game, go upstairs to the window. Do not jump out. Instead,
take out your pistol and shoot the glass out. Then, carefully
aim for the villagers' heads that are awaiting outside. There
are three of them. If you kill all three, you can jump out and
avoid any damage.
SubZero61992.
A good close-range combat tactic is to strike a weapon-less enemy
before he grabs you with the knife or a weapon in the head. Then,
while he stumbles, close in and press [Kick]. If the enemy
is weakened enough, you will smash his head. If not, you will
knock him down, allowing you to shoot him while he is on the ground.
ArK.
If the enemy is far away, but not too far, shoot him in the head
and run towards him while he stumbles. If he recovers, stop and
shoot him in the head again. Continue to do this until you are
close enough to "kick" him down.
ArK.
If you are close enough and do not want to waste ammunition, use
the knife. Aim high enough if you want to kick their head, and
thus be able to "kick" them. It is harder to hit a knocked
down enemy with the knife because you will have to set your aim
very low. However, you have him pinned down and are free to shoot.
Aiming at the head while the enemy is on the ground will make
things easy.
ArK.
If the enemy is very far away, use the rifle. Take your time and
do not run or they will notice you; just walking instead of running
makes less noise. Find a good location from which you can shoot
safely to several targets if necessary. Aim accurately and shoot
at the head. If someone else notices you, do not let your guard
down and knock them down as well. With some practice you will
be able to kill enemies (headshots recommended) with the rifle
even when they are "a bit" too close.
ArK.
Aiming at a weapon held by an enemy will, in most cases, cause
that person to lose that weapon. Take advantage of this when you
are facing Ganados with dangerous weapons. Also note that it is
much more difficult to take down a crossbow from its user. In
these cases, aim at the head.
ArK.
Aiming at an enemy's feet will cause him to stumble or stop walking
or running. Take advantage of this to hit him in the head or to
make a headshot with the rifle.
ArK.
When you are close enough, rely on your knife.
ArK.
Hint: Two routes:
Soon after the farmhouse, look around to collect some
ammunition and buy more items. After that, go to an opening where
you see a lever. Go up to it and switch it to the right to fight
El Gigante (recommended) or switch it to the left to face more
chainsaw wielding villagers (extremely difficult). If you select
to fight El Gigante, aim at the rock at the top ledge until he
is underneath it and fire. Use the same tactic on the one you
dealt with earlier.
squee4221.
Hint: Destroying the insect nest:
In the area where Ashley is carried away by the flying
insects, you can destroy the nest that is hanging from the ceiling.
After it is destroyed, you will find a lot of green and red eyes,
and if you are lucky, even a blue one. This is a good way to get
the Butterfly Lamp filled with all three jewels early so that
you can get some extra money for upgrades.
GUILTYLightZer0.
In the room where Ashley gets carried away by an insect is a giant
tentacle hanging from the ceiling. Equip your pistol and then
shoot it until it falls. It will drop red, blue, and green eye.
Get the Butterfly Lamp by going back into the hallway and jumping
out the nearest window.
blanksonrise1.
Hint: Destroying the big rock:
When you get to the place where you must the dynamite
on the big rock, instead just shoot it with a rocket or infinite
launcher to destroy it.
Jesse Gray.
Hint: Valuable jewels:
Around the village, some trees will have bird nests.
Shoot them off to get valuable jewels to sell to the merchant.
LPST SoCal.
Hint: Crown Jewels:
Kill Salazar's "right hand" that you need
to use the liquid nitrogen tanks on to receive the "Crown
Jewels". which fit into the "Crown" treasure item.
This is difficult; try using the Chicago Typewriter.
GUILTYLightZer0.
Hint: Easy money:
Once you gain access to the tunnel with the merchant
beyond Pueblo, return to the farm area and wait for the chickens
there to lay eggs. Exit and re-enter to begin the same process
over again. After you fill your inventory, you can return to the
nearby merchant to sell your eggs. White chicken eggs sell for
300 Pesetas, brown eggs for 600 Pesetas, and golden eggs for 3,000
Pesetas.
Dokuya.
In the beginning, do not sell the beer stein. Then, get the red,
green, and yellow cats eye. Do not sell the decorative mask until
you get the three pendants. If done correctly, they should be
worth 20,000 Pesetas each.
zjr13.
Get to the point where you are in the room where Ashley is taken
by the invisible flying creatures, After you kill them all and
lower the bridge, shoot the nest which hangs from the ceiling.
It will fall off into the pit under you, showing the moonlight
into the room. Leave the room and come back into it. You can now
get the treasure of all of the creatures that were inside of it
that you could not previously shoot. It amounts to three Red Eyes,
two Blue Eyes , and five Green Eyes.
Steven Kaster.
After defeating Del Lago, the giant crocodile, in the lake you
can get lots of money by sniping (recommended) or harpooning black
bass. Small black bass are worth 750 Pesetas and large ones are
worth 2,500 Pesetas.
reno kisaragi.
Always kill any crow that you see. They always drop money and
some of them even drop Spinels and Velvet Blues.
Lord Sephiroth.
Always look for bee nests in tree. They drops Spinels and some
of them drops Gems to attach in treasures found.
Lord Sephiroth.
After you have Chicago Typewriter, make sure you get an X-Large
attache case (the biggest one available). Sell off anything you
can pick up, as you play another replay game. Get the shotgun
and sell it to the Merchant. Do the subquest to get the Punisher
for free, then sell it back to the Merchant. If Leon's and Ashley's
HP gauges are already at maximum, then you can put together mixes
of Red, Green, and Yellow herbs and sell them to the merchant
for 10,000 Pesetas each. The only things you should keep besides
a few First Aid Sprays is one Flash Grenade. In the room where
you get trapped in a cage with the Garrador, you will need one
green grenade to blast the door open. Make sure to pick one up
before you get here. In the room is the rocket launcher in a display
case. Take this and keep it. You will need to use it after Castle
Tower to kill the Twin Garradors. Continue to pick up any kind
of ammunition, even if you do not need it. If you sell items like
those throughout the game, your Pesetas will soon be in the millions.
When you pick a replay game, do it all over again.
rainbowgemyni.
Complete the game at least once. You will need the Striker fully
upgraded and the Infinite Launcher. After the cabin fight, go
to the Chainsaw Sisters. Use the Striker to kill them and the
extra Ganados. Then, go to El Gigante and use the Infinite Launcher.
You should get a ruby and 10,000 Pesatas.
gduron2.
Hint: Quick money or more health:
If you mix a Green, Red, and Yellow Herb, you can sell
it for a lot of money, or use it to restore health and increase
the maximum health. Use it when you are low on health so that
you do not waste the health recovery from it.
Mark Rivenburgh.
Hint: Save health at start:
While at the beginning after killing the man with the
axe, run up the stairs. Do not jump out. Turn around and get the
handgun bullets. Then, shoot the window until it breaks. Try to
kill the two men outside of the window. If you do not kill them,
they will run to the front door. After that, run back down the
stairs and you should see a window. Dive out of this window. You
will see the men inside the house. The door is still closed. Kill
the three men and you can go on the trail with full health.
Dillon Lane.
Hint: Gaining health:
Before you fight Del Lago, walk onto the dock where
the speedboat is found. You can fire at Black Bass. Take the boat
out to recover them. However, be careful; if you fire too many
shots Del Lago will eat you at the end of the dock.
Jacob Bratek.
Hint: Perfect score:
If you are trying to get a "Perfect" 100%
hit rate, then you must consider the following. Be absolutely
certain that you are on target. Do not shoot from far off unless
you are aiming with the rifle. Also, do not do any "subquests",
or go for any treasures or Spinels that require you to shoot them
down (for example, the Blue Medallion quest, the Brass Pocket
Watch, etc.) If you miss, it will count against you. Also, as
soon as an enemy makes a "grunt" sound, it indicates
that they are dead. Do not get trigger happy, as this will lower
your hit rate percentage. Do not use the Chicago Typewriter for
this quest. It fires too quickly. You must be very careful to
fire only one shot for most of the beginning enemies until you
reach the Castle, where two shots with the Chicago Typewriter
will kill most anything.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Save ammunition:
Use your knife to disarm bear traps. Get near it and
aim the knife down at the bear trap. Then, swing it. The trap
will be disarmed. Note: Do not do this on the laser trip bomb.
David How Shing Koy.
Use the following trick to avoid being harmed and save ammunition
in the first village. When you first go into the village, run
past the villagers. Go into the first house on your right. Quickly
kick the door open, then let it shut. Shoot the door twice or
more just above the door handle. A hole will open, and you can
now knife the villagers without being harmed even if they throw
their weapons. The chainsaw man will not appear even if you go
into the house with the shotgun, but only if you have killed all
of the enemies first. You can now grab all the items and roam
around the village freely.
lbellis.
When you begin the Chapter 1 (Daytime) and fight the first Ganado,
he is in a house wielding an hatchet. Wait until he walks up to
your character. If you read his attacks well enough, step forward
quickly in front of him. Do not run. Then, move back about five
to eight steps. He will swing and miss. Quickly unsheathe your
knife and aim at his face. He should be almost touching you when
he attacks. When he holds his face in pain you should be able
to kick him. He should now be on the ground. Run up to him and
use your knife again. Aim at him and slash until he is dead. Use
this strategy only on Ganados with knives, hatchets, and small
sickles. Do not use it when you are surrounded. On Ganados without
weapons aim you r knife at head height and start slashing when
they are about four to seven steps away. Then, kick while they
are holding their face. Slash them while they are on the ground.
For Ganados with pitch forks, wait until they are about to swing
then run past them. Turn around then run up to him. His back should
be facing you. Aim at head height with your knife and repeat the
kicking and slashing technique while he is on the ground. Do not
use this strategy in crowded areas with more than five or six
Ganados. Also, do not use it when facing Doctor Salvador, the
Chainsaw Maniac, or the Chainsaw Sisters. When you have three or
four Ganados in front close together to you, shoot the Ganado
in the center in the head with a pistol or TMP. The Ganado will
hold his face. Run up and kick him, then it will hit and damage
anyone who has fallen down. They should now be in the relatively
same place, allowing you to slash all three of them with your
knife.
Dana McGlynn.
Try save the maximum ammunition you have. When fighting normal
enemies, you can get rid of them easily with the handgun. The
shotgun, rifle, or Magnum should be saved for Bosses (or special
enemies, like the Regenerators). Use the shotgun only when you
are surrounded or at huge mobs and cannot stop the enemies with
the handgun.
Lord Sephiroth.
Always aim for the Ganados, Los Illuminados, and soldier's heads
when fighting them, and at a close distance. Wait until they are
about to attack you and shoot they heads. They will step back,
holding they faces. Then, run to them and press Action
to kick them away.
Lord Sephiroth.
The knife is your trump card against normal enemies, and for saving
ammunition. After giving one single shot to their heads and kicking
them away, run to them. Take out your knife and slash them in
the ground. If you are skilled enough with the knife, you can
always try slashing their faces instead of shooting.
Lord Sephiroth.
Use the following trick to defeat villagers while saving ammunition.
First, shoot a villager in the knee to make him kneel. Then, walk
up to him and kick him. Next, shoot him in the head. This should
kill him. This may also work with other enemies.
Abraham.
Hint: Secret treasures:
If you want the secret treasures in the areas, go to
the merchant and buy the treasure map. Check the map. The treasures
will displayed as a star. If you cannot see them while you are
standing by an star, check around and look for something sparkling.
Then, shoot it and grab your treasure.
Martijn Muis.
Hint: Pearl Pendant:
When first starting the game, shoot the pendant (above
the smelly well) and tap A repeatedly. You will grab it
before it lands in the water. This boosts the selling price to
10,000 Pesetas.
starbuk.
Close to the start of the game there is a pendant with a value
that will decrease by 9,000 Pesetas, if dropped in water. To keep
it as the Pearl Pendant instead of the Brass Pocketwatch, shoot
the block that is holding the well open, then shoot the pendant
down to pick it up off the top of the well cover. It will sell
for 10,000 Pesetas.
Cloud Strife.
When trying to get the Pearl Pendant, you do not need to press
A repeatedly. Instead, look for the stick which is holding
the well's lid up. Shoot it and it will close without you having
to try to grab it.
Kyle Decker.
Hint: Snake eggs:
If you see a snake after smashing boxes, kill it. You
will get a chicken egg for health. Note: If you do not kill the
snake it will bite you and take health away.
Evil Barney.
Hint: Golden Egg:
At the beginning of the game, if you leave a hen alone
in Pueblo they should lay at least one golden egg. Go to the weapon/health
screen and select the egg. It should allow you to equip the egg.
At the screen, Leon will throw the egg up and down, looking smug.
Kevin James.
The Golden Egg is the best healing item, as it gives you a full
heal and only takes one space in your case.
Luke.
When you first get in the farm, do not leave until you get at
least two eggs from the chickens. Sometimes if you are lucky,
they can five you Golden Eggs. The Snakes found in some wooden
boxes can also drop Golden Eggs as well.
Lord Sephiroth.
Hint: Eggs for Ashley:
There are three types of eggs, white, brown, and golden.
Collect these, equip them, and fire on Ashley. They will not harm
her and it is funny. Aim from a distance to get used to them.
They are lighter than a grenade and fly far when thrown. Note:
She will duck when in close proximity.
Teague Ense.
Hint: Throwing eggs::
Whenever you kill a snake, a chicken egg will be your
reward. Move the pointer on to a white chicken egg, and there
will be an "Equip" option. When you equip the egg, Leon
is shown on the inventory screen tossing the egg up into the air
and then catching it. Furthermore, if you exit the screen and
continue playing, Leon will throw the egg if you press R
then A, as per the protocol of aiming his firearm. The
egg will fly very far and will not affect anyone.
Max Richter.
Hint: Use egg to kick people:
Toss an egg at a Ganado's face. They will hold their
face, letting you get in a kick. Note: Do not do this in a crowd
or you will get hit.
keith marstiller.
Hint: Mine Thrower ammunition:
It is possible to find ammunition for the Mine Thrower.
Kill any normal enemy with the Mine Thrower to yield one dart
for ammunition.
Aristotle Shadol.
Get the Chicago Typewriter and a Mine Thower. Just have those
weapons and nothing else. Use your Chicago Typewriter, and when
you kill people you will sometimes get Mine Thrower ammunition.
rob & deb.
Hint: Crowd control with the TMP:
Shoot out the legs of everyone, then unload on their
heads while they are lying on their faces.
Luke.
Hint: Saving ammunition with the TMP:
Do not hold A . Just keep tapping it.
Corey Phillips
and mark.
Hint: Recommended weapons:
In terms of power, the Red 9 is the most powerful handgun.
It has about power 6 or 8 when you get the exclusive upgrade for
it. It has decent speed, and good capacity (20 rounds full upgrade).
The Punisher is good for crowd control because of the penetrating
rounds, but otherwise use the Red 9. The normal 9mm Handgun in
the beginning is average, although it is best with headshots because
the exclusive upgrade raises the critical headshot ratio. The
Blacktail has no obvious weaknesses or strengths, and is a very
versatile gun. The best handgun is the Red 9. Its power, speed,
and lots of ammunition make it a very good choice. Fully upgraded,
the Red 9 has about the power of the shotgun in every round.
weberkki.
Do not waste your time going through Mercenaries mode solely for
the Handcannon. It has limited ammunition and takes too long to
acquire and upgrade to usefulness. The Infinite Rocket Launcher
is much better, as it kills enemies faster, kills more enemies
at a time, and has the bonus of going into first person zoom mode.
Also, get the Chicago Typewriter. When large groups of enemies
get too close, the IRL explosion could kill you. The fully upgraded
Broken Butterfly is recommended over the Handcannon. Ammunition
is much more plentiful, especially on replays. Also, the reload
and general feel of the Broken Butterfly is preferred over the
Handcannon. It also forces you to play strategically, due to its
limitations (occasional ammunition scarcity, reload times, etc.).
Avoiding the Handcannon gives you more opportunities and money
to have fun with your original weapons. Upgrading the original
shotgun, pistol, and rifle, and playing through are generally
more fun than going through Mercenaries mode plus the main game
just to upgrade one weapon.
Joseph Tucker.
Do not upgrade the starting handgun. If you find and shoot all
fifteen Blue Medallions (seven at the farm and eight at the cemetery),
you will get a Punisher with a Lv2 Firepower (1.1) from the Merchant.
Lord Sephiroth.
The Red 9 is the best and strongest handgun. Do not waste time
buying the Blacktail. Do not forget to buy Red 9 Stock.
Lord Sephiroth.
The Striker may be a little weaker than the Riot Gun, but can
fire multiples enemies in spread. Use it in a very close distance
or the shots will not be very effective.
Lord Sephiroth.
The Broken Butterfly is the best and strongest Magnum. Do not
waste time buying the Killer7. Do not buy the Broken Butterfly;
you can find one in Salazar's Castle later.
Lord Sephiroth.
Do not buy the TMP and/or the Mine Thrower. They are just waste
of money. You can survive with no problems only with handgun,
shotgun, rifle, or Magnum. The Mine Thrower is useful against
large groups of enemies; but that is why you have the shotgun.
Lord Sephiroth.
Save the Rocket Launcher that you find in Salazar's Castle to
use against his Guardian in the Sewers (one of the big hooded
monsters that follows Salazar everywhere).
Lord Sephiroth.
The following is a list of the strongest. Note: These guns must
be fully upgraded for best results.
John Fogg.
Red 9 (5.0 firepower)
Shotgun (maintains power from far distances)
P.R.L 412 Laser Cannon
Handcannon
Chicago Typewriter (TMP-like firing rate, 10.0 firepower)
Semi Auto Rifle (fastest shooting rifle, 15.0 firepower)
Mine Thrower (Obtains homing Mine Darts)
Gunpowder Bowgun
Handgun (x4 chance of headshot)
Broken Butterfly (50.0 firepower)
Hint: Selling items:
If you plan to sell two or more herbs or other items
that can be combined, combine them first and do not sell them
separately. This will result in a small boost in the total selling
price when compared to what it would have been if you sold them
separately.
Kyle.
Hint: Infinite Rocket Launcher:
Do not bother with Chicago Typewriter. Buy the Infinite
Rocket Launcher instead. You can get 100% accuracy as the rocket
launcher does depend on your accuracy. Fire one handgun round
at the beginning, then use the launcher and you will get 100%
accuracy. also.
bob jones.
Hint: Sell the rocket launcher (special)
to the merchant:
This trick involves the unlimited rocket launcher (costs
one million Pesetas completing the game. When you fight Saddler
and Ada throws you the rocket launcher (special), take it, but
do not use it. When you can get a clear shot to his main eye,
use the regular unlimited launcher. Saddler will be killed and
the rocket launcher (special) will be yours to keep. When you
start a new game, you can sell it to the merchant.
mustang67.
Hint: Killing the merchant:
You can kill the merchant at any time in the game.
Under the normal difficulty setting, he just dies then comes back
at the next place, or when you leave the room and come back in.
However, under the professional difficulty setting, once he dies,
he remains dead. When you see the merchant and his eyes are glowing
red, you can take the mine thrower and shoot a couple of darts.
Most of the time he will turn into a blood stain on the floor.
Chris Hess.
Hint: Hidden merchant:
Note: He can only be reached after fighting Del Lago.
After fighting Del Lago, you will pass out in a shack. After waking
up, go back into your boat and go directly at a blue flame. This
will be the merchant's secret shop. He does not have much to sell
other then what he already does, but he has items and ammo around
the area. Go outside his shop and look around. You will find a
box that you can push. Push it away and you will find a ladder
to your right. Make your way to the roof of the merchant's shop.
More boxes which you can push will make a path to a gem to be
set into another item. Also up there is a hole in the roof where
you can jump down and find some sniper bullets, that are next
to the merchant himself. Also, check all the flames around the
area. One of them will have an item in it which you must shoot
and pick up.
Danny Veng.
Hint: More items:
When running around different areas of the village,
you will see crows. Pick them off from a distance as to not scare
the others away. They usually drop Pesetas. Note: If you scare
some away, just re-enter the area to reset their position.
LPST SoCal.
Hint: Avoid damage from traps:
To avoid getting hurt by traps such as explosives and
bear traps, use your laser sight and shoot at the explosive or
the middle of the trap.
Matt Peeler.
Hint: Shoot before you jump:
To avoid getting into close-quarters situations, especially
with dynamite-toting Ganados about, wait you are just out of sight
at the top of the ladder before jumping down if there are any
enemies close by. Usually they will attempt to climb the ladder
to wherever you are. Once they reach the top, it takes a moment
for them to get off the ladder. Pick them off at your leisure.
This is much easier than dancing around avoiding thrown hatchets
and the occasional arrow. It is also fun to knock the ladder down
with several of them climbing up. The same applies for enemies
lurking around hallway corners. Wait for them to peek around the
corner and shoot them before they can mount any offense. Always
try to stash Ashley in a safe place before fighting a mob of enemies.
Darkfyre.
Hint: Aim faster:
Use the D-pad and Analog-stick together
to aim faster than normal.
Hint: Open doors faster:
Tap A(2) when the "Open" action appears
to kick open or down some doors instead of nudging them by hand.
This will give you an advantage, as any enemies behind the door
will be sent flying back.
Andy L.
Hint: Opening locks:
There are many locks on doors. Instead of shooting
the locks and wasting ammunition, pull out your knife and cut
it off. The same can be done for boxes.
jimmy.
Hint: Finding items:
To find items, smash all of the crates with either
your knife or a gun.
Matt Peeler.
Hint: Extra ammunition:
Wait until you are low on ammunition before upgrading
a gun. The replacement gun will always have a full clip, giving
you extra bullets that otherwise may be difficult to find.
When fighting Ganados, shoot them a few times then use your knife
to slash at least twice (rarely even once works). This seems to
make it more likely that they will drop ammunition.
bob jones.
Hint: Saving ammunition:
This trick really only works up until you get to the
castle where the enemies get stronger. The easiest way to save
ammunition is to use your knife frequently. Most of the enemies
have knives, axes, pitchforks, all sorts of melee weapons. Instead
of trying to shoot them, just step back from the attack so that
they stumble. You will get the command to kick them. Do so, then
you can just knife them. By time they stand up and are ready to
kill you, you will have knifed them to death.
The Bam.
The following trick works well with stronger enemies. Instead
of going for multiple body shots trying to kill them, either hit
their knees so they drop then kick them down, or shoot them in
the face or head so that they grab their face and stumble around.
Then, kick them. While they are down unload headshots. It does
more damage, and it has a chance to blow their head off ultimately
saving ammunition.
The Bam.
Wait on the other side of a door with an enemy. Wait until you
see the door rattle from them trying to open it then kick open
the door. This will injure any enemy within range. Take a few
steps back, then shoot one round into any enemy that is too close
to the door (on their feet) so that the door will close again
and repeat. This is useful when you are low on ammunition or do
not want to waste any rounds.
bob jones.
Stand at the top of the ladder with Leon or Ada. This allows you
to knife enemies as they climb up. Continue swinging the knife
and the enemy will climb into your swing, fall off, then climb
back into it until they die. You can then jump down to grab their
items. Be careful of enemies on the same level or floor as you.
Also, be careful of the soldiers with machine guns. They can jump
straight up without using the ladder.
Ben Seaver.
Hint: Weapon upgrades:
When buying upgrades for your gun, always look at your
gun information beforehand. For example, if your gun has a gunpower
of 10.8 and you see that the upgrade reads lvl 2 --> 10.5,
you are basically losing out and wasting money.
jeff fisher.
Hint: Bird nests:
If you are low on ammunition, find a tree and check
for a bird's nest. Most bird nests have ammunition, but some have
treasures or Green Herbs.
blanksonrise1.
Hint: Blue Medallions:
After the first merchant, the medallions will appear
on your map as blue dots. Ten of them gives you a free Punisher.
All 15 of them will give you a free upgrade on it. This will save
10,000 Pesetas if you decide to use this gun.
bob jones.
Hint: Los Illuminados Pendant and Spinels:
After you come out of the sewers and are on the second
floor of the room with the first shooting range, go to the first
chandelier but do not jump. Instead, throw a hand grenade into
the group of zealots (monks in black). There will also be a head
zealot in a red outfit and a skull cap. He is the one with the
Los Illuminados pendant. After you throw the hand grenade, wait
about two seconds and throw a flash grenade, then immediately
jump down. If the head zealot is still alive, kill him first then
kill any other remaining zealots. You will receive a Los Illuminados
Pendant from the head zealot and a Spinel from all the normal
zealots.
blanksonrise1.
Hint: Crows:
Look out for crows. They sometimes drop valuable items
and are usually found in groups. To kill crows, shoot them from
a distance. If you are close and there are other crows nearby
they will fly away. An easier way to kill a group of them is to
toss a flash grenade into their midst and watch the items drop.
The Big Cheesy Monster.
Hint: Annoy Ashley:
When Ashley is on a cliff or still up a ladder, you
can aim your gun up at her. She will grab her skirt and call you
a pervert.
Kenny.
Hint: Extra scene:
When Leon is being choked, he will be told that he
has the same blood. Leave the room, then return. You will be choked
again by same person, only this time Ada comes to the rescue.
Brandon Binda.
Hint: Rainbow:
At the end of the game, as Leon and Ashley fall into
the water on the speedboat, you can see a rainbow for a few seconds.
Adam157.
Hint: See Ada Wong early:
When you are walking in the room in the village, you
will see an intermission sequence where the chief chokes Leon,
but then lets him live because he has the same blood as them.
After it ends, go back in the same room where he just choked you.
He will pop out from behind and step on you. Then, he gets shot
with two bullets. When he turns around, Ada is at the window in
a black costume, and she escapes quickly. Note: The middle of
the castle level is where you actually meet her for the first
time.
lmakowski.
Hint: Leon speaking Spanish:
To hear Leon speak Spanish, go to where he fights Chief
Mendez (Big Cheese). Dodge his move and listen to Leon. He will
say "Esta Luego" although his version is "Esta
Loego".
Undertaker520634.
Hint: Saddler comment:
Listen closely when you kill the villagers. Some of
them will say "Lord Saddler" as they reach out just
before they die. Note: This may only happen after completion of
the game.
Scott OMalley.
Hint: Assignment Ada: Defeating Krauser:
To complete Assignment Ada you need five times which
look like little containers. Once you have four you will encounter
Krauser. He will jump down and attack you. Defeat him using the
same tactics used during the last battle of Krauser with Leon.
Krauser will keep coming back for more. Stab and shoot him with
a shotgun. Go back through the last door and use the sniper rifle
to shoot Krauser's legs and expose his head. Then, shoot his head
and repeat the process until he fires a flash grenade. Pick up
the container. You can now purchase the Tommy Gun from the merchant
for one million Pesatas.
Stinkytaco.
Hint: Mercenaries mini-game:
The main monsters to look out for are the two chainsaw
ladies on stage 1. Once you kill them, they keep coming back.
On stage 2 and 3 be careful of the guys with the chain guns. On
stage 4, there is a super chainsaw man. He is bigger than the
normal one and has a twin bladed saw. He is almost impossible
to stop. He does not climb ladders. He jumps to where he needs
to be. He will run at you, swinging the saw. Do not run past him.
Turn and jump down if you can, or climb something quickly. If
you really want to get past him, try using Jack Krauser's transformation,
and aim right at him. If you miss, you are dead.
mark rivenburgh.
Krauser's transformation will kill anyone in one hit as long as
you are close enough. Also Flash Bang, Kick are very good for
crowds with Krauser. These two things will make Krauser the easiest
to get five stars with.
Luke.
Hint: Mercenaries mini-game: WaterWorld:
Defeating the twin chainsaw maniacs:
As Leon, first off look and know exactly where the large tower
is located with the very long ladder and the two shorter ones.
When you start to hear a chainsaw twin, try to get eye contact
with him first to know where he is. Next, run towards the tower
and do not worry about any other Ganados. Run to the shorter two
ladder and start climbing the first ladder. Run all the way to
the end of the floor and jump down to where the time extend is
found. Run away from the ladders and wait for the twin to jump
down. If he does not (usually when you are too far away from the
ladders), try moving backwards and forwards towards the ladders
and away from them. Once you see the twin jump down, use your
shotgun and shoot for the legs. If done correctly, he will get
stunned for a moment for every shot you hit him with. This gives
you the chance to keep shooting without worrying about him coming
at you. If he for some reason turns around and comes at you, turn,
jump down, and try again. You can also use grenades to knock him
down, but it is a lot easier to just shoot him in the legs.
Efrain Esquivel.
Ada is one of the easiest characters to use against the twins.
Do the same thing as in the Leon strategy, except instead of a
shotgun, use the sniper rifle. Aim for the legs and he will always
fall down. Shoot him while he is down. Then, wait for him to get
up.
Efrain Esquivel.
Jack is another easy character to work with. Use your mutant power
on him. One shot and he is dead. If you are having trouble because
of the Ganados, use a flash grenade. Note: If you go to the tower
you will get very little Ganados after you.
Efrain Esquivel.
Hunk is the most difficult character to use. Do the same thing
as in the Leon strategy, only this time use grenades on the twins
(as his gun is useless against them). Try to knock them down and
go all out with his TMP.
Efrain Esquivel.
Wesker uses the exact same strategy as Ada. Although the Magnum
may appear the best weapon to use, its slow reload and lack of
bullets limits this. Try using the sniper and watch him fall and
die in four or five shots.
Efrain Esquivel.
Hint: Bottle caps:
To unlock all the bottle caps you need all headshots.
Try to make every shot count. A headshot to a male villager is
worth 100 points. A headshot to a female villager is worth 200
points. Do not miss. If you shoot five consecutive targets you
will get a chance at the bonus target in the back for 500 points.
When the background opens up, quickly shoot at the bonus target.
You should have no trouble if you are using the TMP. If a group
of targets pop up at once and one of them is holding a dynamite
stick, aim for the dynamite. This will blow up all the targets
and a Salazar bonus target will appear, which is worth 500 points.
The first time that the option for game B becomes available, get
over a few steps to the right of the bell, then turn slightly
towards the bell. Do all your aiming from here. This will give
you the opportunity to hit the target that pops up directly behind
the Ashley target. Try using the TMP. Because Leon holds it at
the hip, he tends to aim steadier with it than with any other
gun available to you. The rifle takes too long to reload if you
miss. You only have to score 3,000 points or more. It will become
easier as you memorize the current pattern of targets.
rainbowgemyni.
Hint: Interesting death sequences:
Note: Save before each encounter before trying to see
the following death scenes.
"It": "It" has three ways of killing Leon.
The first is when he is on the roof. He will grab Leon and snap
his neck. Another is when he has the scissors tail. He will grab
Leon by the legs and cut him in half. The finwl way happens after
the three cages fall and the final fight on the cliff side begins.
Shoot him until he goes underground. Allow him to kill you when
he pops from under you.
Teague Ense.
Betrayal: When you are in the cabin surrounded by Ganados, shoot
Luis Sera about five to eight times. An intermission sequence
will begin.
Teague Ense.
Chief Mendez: In the barn fight, do not evade his grab in the
intermission sequence.
Teague Ense.
Crocodile: After getting knocked out of the boat, swim back until
you are just in reach of the boat. The crocodile will appear from
underneath.
Teague Ense.
Crocodile: When killed, do not cut the rope.
Teague Ense.
Crocodile: Immediately before you fight the crocodile, stand on
the dock near by the boat (the one exactly before the Boss fight).
Shoot the fish in the water. The crocodile will come up and eat
Leon.
David Hall.
Del Lago: Stand on the dock by the lake where you fight the giant
alligator (Del Lago). Fire your shotgun into the water several
times. Eventually, Del Lago will come out and eat you.
Michael Schemitsch.
Luis Seras: When in the house with Luis Seras, keep shooting Luis.
Eventually an intermission sequence will show Luis shooting Leon
twice, then Leon will fall to the floor and die.
David Hall
Giant insects: Let them vomit on you.
Teague Ense.
Knife fight: At the end, let him press the knife through the cavity.
Teague Ense.
Molotov cocktails: In the beginning of the game, go up the ladder
into the tower and wait the villagers want to burn you alive.
Teague Ense.
Prison Boss: Have low life and let him kill you with the first
hit of his charge. He should impale you twice.
Luke.
Regenerators: Both normal and spiked varieties have their own
style of killing Leon.
Teague Ense.
Trap door floor: Salazaar will enjoy sending the spikes impaling
Scott Kennedy.
Teague Ense.
Two Los Gigantos: In the magma floor/pool, activate the switch
and stand next to the pool.
Wolves: When they jump on you, they will ravage your face. Once
Leon is killed, look at their teeth.
Teague Ense.
Decapitation: After completing the game once, play the Mercenaries
game. Go to the water level and run around until you meet a man
with a double chainsaw. Stand near him and your head will be cut
clean off.
Jacob Walsh.
Before you face the lake monster, go to the top end of the dock
where the boat is located. Fire your weapon of choice into the
water.
Robert Guetlech.
In Chapters 1 and 2 when the Ganado with the axe comes in, do
not press anything. The Ganado will cut Leon and Luis and the
screen will be covered in blood.
Undertaker520634.
Hint: Hidden intermission sequence:
After defeating Del Lago (crocodile), after the intermission
sequence, go back across the lake where you got the boat. Head
up the trail. An intermission sequence should begin. Leon will
be surrounded by wolves. Note: You can also go back that way and
fight El Gigante, but you must go all the way back to get the
Insignia for the church.
Teague Ense.
After the intermission sequence with the Big Cheese stating that
Leon has similar blood to the villagers, play through the next
area but then back track. Try to go through the same house again
to see another intermission sequence with the Big Cheese. This
is the sequence with the first appearance of the "woman in
the red dress".
Bobby Nickens.
Hint: Hiding the number of times killed
ratio:
To avoid seeing a number of times killed, continue
until you get to a chapter end. When instructed to save, cancel
the saving process.
Joe Matera.
Alternately, when you die and are prompted to continue, answer
"No". You will be sent back to where you last saved.
Make sure the location where you last saved is close by. The next
time you complete a chapter, it will have no deceased record.
Joe Matera.
Hint: P.N. 03 reference:
In the Mercenaries mini-game, play as John Krauser
or Hunk. Notice that both of the character's theme songs are from
P.N. 03 levels.
isiah_15.
Glitch: Leon's X-ray vision:
Unlock Leon's special costume, then complete Chapter
1-3. During the intermission sequence after the game prompts you
to save, Leon will have a strange dream that the egg hatched and
is taking over his body. One part shows it taking over his arm,
but the secondary costume prevents Leon from looking at his skin.
Leon still acts as though he can see it, and the intermission
sequence plays through normally after that.
Kyle.
Glitch: Rocket launcher stuck in Leon's
side:
After completing the game at least once, buy an infinite
rocket launcher from the merchant. When you reach one of those
bombs that are tripped by wire, equip the infinite rocket launcher.
While it is equipped, get close to the wire, pull out your knife,
and trip the wire. This will send you flying back, and when you
stand up you will have a rocket launcher clearly sticking out
of your side.
Justin Mulligan
Glitch: Stick hand Leon:
To do this trick you will need a shotgun, the first
Merchant you meet in the game, and enough money to buy your shotgun
back. Have your shotgun equipped with a full clip. Talk to the
first merchant you encounter. After he shows you his wares, select
the "Sell" screen on the Merchants main screen. Scroll
down to your shotgun. Sell your shotgun to the merchant then press
the B(2). Immediately after you press B the second
time, hold B and press Analog-stick Up to move forward
in a run just for a little bit. Do not turn. Come to a stop anywhere,
but not when you are directly in front of a wall. You can move
the camera around to get a better look at your stick like hands
by using the C-stick. Leon appears to have had his hands
amputated and replaced by very long black sticks holding him up.
This only works at the first merchant in Chapter 1-2.
Suprdrummer192.
Glitch: Colorblind Leon:
When you are going through the game in Leon's special
costume, both Ada and Ashley will also get a special costume.
At the beginning of Chapter 1-3, you can go back into the room
where you found the insignia key to be bothered by the leader
of the village again. After the intermission sequence where Ada
saves you, go to the window. Press A and Leon will say,
"Lady in red... somewhat so familiar". However, Ada's
special costume is completely black.
Chris Hess.
Glitch: Colorblind Krauser:
If you have the special costume set on, in the scene
where Leon and Krauser have a knife, at the end Ada Wong will
show up and Krauser will say "If it isn't the * in the red
dress". This is a glitch because Ada is wearing black clothes.
Kelly Erickson.
Glitch: Switched arm:
When you fight Krauser with his mutated arm in story
mode, he is using his left hand. However, when using him in the
Mercenaries, use his muted arm. Notice he is now using his right
arm, and not his left like in story mode.
Undertaker520634.
Glitch: Look up Ashley's skirt without
her stopping you:
Normally, if you jump down a ladder and try to look
up Ashley's skirt, she will grab it and call you a pervert. However,
there is a location where she does not do this. In Chapter 2-3,
go to the lifts, after going down one of the paths. Climb onto
one and go all the way down to the other side, shooting the Gonadas
coming up on other lifts and the ones on the platforms. Once you
get all the way down, go down the stairs nearby. Go to the cave
that is here that has window-like holes. Be careful, as there
are two dynamite wielding Gonadas at the entrance. Kill them then
jump over the wall and go up the ladder. Kill the Gonada. Jump
down, but leave Ashely up there. Try looking up her skirt with
a sniper. She will not grab her skirt and call you a pervert because
she is too high up. Note: There are more ladders where you can
do this. Find one with a large drop and it should work. For example,
if you have already gotten past Chapter 2-3, you can do this trick
on the ladder you go down just after defeat Saddler in the final
chapter.
Evil_Kefka.
After you defeat Ramon Salazar, walk further and there will be
an intermission sequence where Ada will ask Leon if he needs a
ride, and he accepts. When Ada brings him to the island, she will
hook a rope onto the top of a cliff and say" I have some
business to take care of". While she is saying that, look
at her skirt (especially when she goes to jump up).
lmakowski.
You can also see more of Ashley than usual when you jump out the
window of the church and when you get on the jet ski.
Luke.
In Chapter 3-4 when you dodge an attack from a suit of armor,
look between her legs. You will see her underwear, which is black.
LugNoc.
Immediately before the big chief Boss battle, return to the caves
where you found the Yellow Catseye. Go up the big ladder. Then,
have Leon jump down and aim the rifle up. If done correctly she
will just stand there and not call you a pervert as usual.
connor gilbert.
Buy the rifle and scope attachment from the merchant. Then, climb
up a large ladder, kick it down, then jump off. Ashley will be
standing there, and you can zoom and look up her skirt without
her noticing.
Ethan Pomeroy.
When Ashley is in her normal uniform, have a sniper rifle (for
example, the standard Bolt Action Lee-Enfield), and find a high
ladder. First, go up the ladder. Ashley will follow. Then, turn
around and jump back down again, leaving Ashley atop the ladder.
Back up slightly, take out a gun and aim up at Ashley. If she
covers herself and yells at you, you must find a taller ladder.
If she does not yell, take out your sniper rifle and aim at her.
She should not yell because she cannot see you. Zoom in and you
will be able to see Ashley red heart panties.
Icarus Echelon.
Glitch: Mysterious object:
When in the castle sewers, after defeating Salazar's
"right hand", get to the elevator as prompted. Before
operating, aim your weapon up. Notice that there is a mysterious
object spinning above Leon's head. Move around and aim up again;
it follows you.
Eli Tallbear.
Glitch: Run through lasers on the island:
When you get to the lasers after fighting Krauser with
Action Commands, go to the laser room. Once you get to the first
set of lasers that move towards you, run through them. You should
go through and skip out on the lasers that are "broken".
If you keep running toward the end, but do not push the button
yet, turn around and you will see that the "broken"
lasers are there and you just skipped two Action Commands. Note:
You will have to do the "broken" lasers if you go back
to them. This may require a few attempts, or you may have to go
through it the normal way once and take the emerald on the seat
and reload via "Restart from the last Continue Point".
Glitch: Misspelling:
At the beginning of the game after the cars crash into
the river, press A. The description reads "The brigde
is out", with the word "bridge" misspelled.
Logan Livengood.
Glitch: Wrong dialogue:
On your second playthrough have the characters wear
their alternate costumes. Complete the sequence when you first
get into a knife fight with Krauser. At the end, Ada shoots the
knife out of Krauser's hand and he turns to her and refers to
her as the "bitch in the red dress". Ada is not wearing
her red dress, and that dialogue no longer makes sense.
Neil.
Note: You must have access to the alternate costumes for this
glitch. After you see Chief Mendez the second time in the two
story cabin, turn around and go back into the room where you found
the Insignia Key. An intermission sequence will begin. You will
see Ada Wong shoot Mendez from the window. After the sequence
ends, press A on the window. It should say, "A woman
in red... somehow so familiar", even though Ada is wearing
a black uniform.
Suroku.
Get to the part where you are in Salazar's Garden (with the zombie
dogs). When you take out your "walkie-talkie", wait
until you see Leon talking to his self. His last sentence is "There
an intruder besides me?".
