More Gameplay Footage of Kingdom Hearts Re:codedUnofficially revealed shortly before E3 2010, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is a DS port of 2008's Japanese mobile-exclusive game Kingdom Hearts Coded. Set shortly after the events of Kingdom Hearts II, Coded picks up as King Mickey, Donald and Goofy find strange writing in Jiminy Cricket's journal. Digitizing the journal and exploring its depths for clues, players quickly stumble upon a digital version of Sora who joins the quest. Traversing familiar worlds and reuniting with digital incarnations of old friends, Re:coded looks to recapture some of the magic found in the original Kingdom Hearts.
The video below occurs in familiar areas of Traverse Town. Little in the way of new enemies or worlds is expected, however gameplay elements change between worlds. While some worlds have platforming puzzles involving the red and black boxes you see here, others are more action-oriented like Kingdom Hearts II. Turn-based combat in Olympus Coliseum was also shown during the E3 announcement trailer.
No release information has been announced, however North American fans should expect this to arrive sometime next year.
