1. Downtime notice - Oct. 17, 2017

Well, it's a permanent downtime. After 22 years of service it's time for a final goodbye. Our live production servers will be taken offline on October 17th. The simple fact is that there are plenty of better ways to get the secrets hidden in games and connect with other gamers. There are plenty of Youtube channels and Twitch streams that will show games played at their best, something that plain text and screenshots can't convey. If you want to connect to other gamers outside of those services, there are plenty of Discord servers that offer a direct and engaging community experience.

Please visit our friends at GameFAQs.com or IGN.com for information such as codes, guides, reviews, etc. They're the real deal and have always been respectful and honest about how they operate. Our ghost pages can be found on Archive.org for those times that you'd like to take a look back at how things were.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed content and time managing our community, and especially to you, our dear visitors!

Our last words: "Up ,Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, Select, Start"

The deluxe edition is a bit pointless though, you can get the extra mode without paying with uplay points (i.e. Ubisoft achievements).

I'd say that Chaos Theory and Double Agent are better games, although you might prefer Conviction. It's completely different, for better or worse, and I felt that it took a lot of the appeal of the series away, despite being a great action game.

I'll gladly co-op with anyone on Conviction though.

    Dear Esther
    Dragon Age: Origins
    Half-Life
    Half-Life 2
    Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
    Half-Life 2 Episode One
    Half-Life 2: Episode Two
    Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
    Half-Life Deathmatch: Source
    Half-Life: Blue Shift
    Half-Life Opposing Force
    Half-Life: Source
    Killing Floor
    Left 4 Dead 2

    Mine:
    [hide]BulletStorm
    Civ IV Complete
    Civ V DLC
    Deus Ex: Missing Link DLC
    Fallout NV: Lonesome Road DLC
    Crysis Pack
    Garry's Mod
    Saints Row: The Third
Splinter Cell 1, Chaos Theory, Double Agent, Conviction
    Trine 2
    Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

I also got Dawn of War II Retribution just before the Summer Sale, on an individual sale.
    [/hide]

I spent a fair bit, but not ridiculous money. I've saved a lot this year by being more patient with purchases, and I'm still well below my usual spend.

Just Cause 2 will be on Community sale soon. A fantastically fun game!

The Saints Row 3 Franchise Pack is $9.79 for the next eight and a half hours! (while the game alone is like, $15) Don't know whether they're gonna correct this glitch anytime soon, but I'd say it would certainly be worth it!

I went ahead and purchased the SupCom2 DLC. So, if anyone wants to reunite for a game anytime soon, let me know.

I used to play it nonstop awhile back, but is anybody playing Dungeon Fighter Online now that it's on Steam?

So, now that I have the SupCom2 DLC...Anyone want to start up some matches? I know a bunch of us have the game, and a few of you even have the DLC. School starts soon, so I can play anytime until August 22. After that, it's only nights and weekends for me.

Added Cpezo to the OP. 26 members now, huzzah

Also, yeah I should be up for SupCom2; although probably not this afternoon (my time; so essentially now, heh) since I'm fairly tired after learning Linux/CentOS 5 stuff for 11.5hrs yesterday, and 6hrs today, so I'll likely just do some Saints Row 3 or LA Noire

Guys, you gotta get Payday. Me, Matthew, and Dewey have been playing it this morning. It's a lot of fun. :) It'd be nice to always have 4 people though.

Now that we have a large group of people, why don't we get a project going together? A friend and I have been talking for months about making a game, and I was thinking I could get the lot of you folk to join in and we could make a big thing out of it. What do you think?

Cpezo, do you want the Steam award? Usually I make people request it in the forum, because I enjoy inconveniencing people, but I can just add it for you if you want. :D

What we were thinking about doing was using flash (Or whichever engine anyone knows best) to make a turn based rpg. My friend and I have a basic story idea, but it needs a lot of work.

Sounds like a good idea. By all means use this forum to update your progress, ask for help, etc.

I have no idea how to use flash at all, but I'd be glad to put my two cents in. Help out with moves/story/character names and all of that.

You have to hand it to Steam. They have an incredible talent for making the most mundane things appear exciting. Over 500 posts for this thread. Well done, guys. We must be one of the most active forums on GW!

Pah, I'd just come in to post Valve's update, but dimmerwit beat me to it! But yeah, here's the brief run-down in the News tab:

We'll have to see what we can do with our own group, come the 16th of August (from the sounds of it) when all this is properly implemented, I guess!

And yeah, Valve definitely knows what they're doing, when it comes to their DD client. Looking forward to the upcoming days! I've been wanting a lot of this stuff, that's for sure!

The group changes do sound interesting. There was always a lot of scope for improvement there to be fair.

Indeed, and that's not a bad thing at all. There is a big difference between developers turning away from single player experiences, which is a bad thing, and gaming becoming more socially interactive, which is a positive in my opinion.

Just send Spindrift a request after he messaged me, (sorry for not replying! Didn't here the ping) and the OP's been updated.

And has anyone tried out the beta yet? I've got an invite, but haven't given it a go yet. Apparently people have really been abusing the game hubs' screenshot feature, though!

Although in fairness most of the activity in this thread has been about discussing particular games, especially SC2.

I agree. But it wasn't happening beforehand. You guys have created this community and group of friends. Once you have that in place, you find that you can talk about pretty much anything.
