1. Downtime notice - Oct. 17, 2017

Well, it's a permanent downtime. After 22 years of service it's time for a final goodbye. Our live production servers will be taken offline on October 17th. The simple fact is that there are plenty of better ways to get the secrets hidden in games and connect with other gamers. There are plenty of Youtube channels and Twitch streams that will show games played at their best, something that plain text and screenshots can't convey. If you want to connect to other gamers outside of those services, there are plenty of Discord servers that offer a direct and engaging community experience.

Please visit our friends at GameFAQs.com or IGN.com for information such as codes, guides, reviews, etc. They're the real deal and have always been respectful and honest about how they operate. Our ghost pages can be found on Archive.org for those times that you'd like to take a look back at how things were.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed content and time managing our community, and especially to you, our dear visitors!

well, hell. That's pretty damn good. Nice spot there, Warp. This might be what I need to buy Days and BBS.

What is NIER is that good :paranoid:

*checks* Woah woah woah, they've got Dissidia for 12 bucks, Valkyria Chronicles for 20, Crisis Core for ten?? That's awesome!

Have you played Demon's Souls? Is that good?

    I picked Demon's Souls up a few months back, but I don't have a PS3... so... :cletus:

It's a western/PC-styled Action-RPG that's hard as hell, according to the internet. Hacking and slashing gets you killed immediately, forcing you to learn how each enemy attacks and what tactics need to be employed to dodge and counter them. Playing online allows other people to jump into your game as a phantom, and they have the option of screwing with you or assisting you. Atlus's promotional gameplay videos on G4 and such looked solid, but that's about all I can say about it.

As for Neir, it's a fairly repetitive Action-RPG with an "interesting" story. Haven't done more than a test run myself (bought it the other day for $20) so the details are lost on me right now, but it seems like -- as was the case with Drakengard -- playing through the game multiple times changes the story/perspective and sheds more light on events. I'm pretty sure there's a demo available on PSN, if you wanna try it out.

    ..................................................

    .........

you picked the game up because it has Atlus on the cover didn't you

    DIDN'T YOU

Meh, whatever. If I buy some of these other ones I'll have plenty enough for, like, a year.

Also I still don't know how to use PSN D:

You say that like it's a bad thing. ;)

Is it more complicated on the PS3 or something? PSN on the PSP isn't very user friendly, but it breaks things down into categories like "demos" and "PSone Classics" which eventually gets you where you need to be.

hahahaha, what a steal! Just bought five games for eighty dollars! Picked up Dissidia (eh, why not, it was like twelve dollars), Crisis Core, BBS, Days, and Valkyria Chronicles. That 20 dollar BBS reduction is really what tipped the scales for me. I'm glad I waited. ;)

Think I'll keep an eye on Amazon for anything else...

:paranoid: No I'm sure it's because I'm not smart enough for it. First I'd have to actually hook it up to my internet though. And get the PSN account...I should really check what's in there though...

Amazon is nuts this time of year. Pretty much the entire months of November and December are filled with deals for all manner of electronics, from HDTVs and computers to games and movies. I like to say that Amazon saves me so much money that I'm always broke at the end of the year. :D

But, for whatever reason, the prices on Square's games always get severe cuts. Usually good for us, but games like The Last Remnant actually got a $30 cut just over a week after release. Don't imagine that's good for the game's overall appeal (although in that case, entirely understandable).

Pfft! It's got an Ethernet port in the back, yeah? Maybe plug something in there. :p The demos for multiplatform and download-only games would probably keep you busy for a few weeks by themselves.

Would still be better if we could more easily obtain things from the Japanese PSN, though. I hear they just added Chrono Cross. :(

yeah, I know. It's savings but it's also eighty bucks I wasn't planning on spending until then.

I just bought a new TV too. Replaced the one that is almost as old as me. Had to get a stand for it (didn't want a TV mount), and I also recently bought a couch as well. The peril of finally living on your own...

I was upset because I later saw the TV on clearance for forty bucks less. Oh well, still under $500.

btw, I got an e-mail from Amazon--they say four of my five games have been shipped. BBS has not--looks like they ran out and it will have to be shipped separately. Not surprising. That was a good deal. Just hoping it won't arrive when I'm away.

No I think probably I would hook it up wirelessly. Undoubtedly it would ask me for my wireless number thing. FEH. T____T
