1. Downtime notice - Oct. 17, 2017

Well, it's a permanent downtime. After 22 years of service it's time for a final goodbye. Our live production servers will be taken offline on October 17th. The simple fact is that there are plenty of better ways to get the secrets hidden in games and connect with other gamers. There are plenty of Youtube channels and Twitch streams that will show games played at their best, something that plain text and screenshots can't convey. If you want to connect to other gamers outside of those services, there are plenty of Discord servers that offer a direct and engaging community experience.

Please visit our friends at GameFAQs.com or IGN.com for information such as codes, guides, reviews, etc. They're the real deal and have always been respectful and honest about how they operate. Our ghost pages can be found on Archive.org for those times that you'd like to take a look back at how things were.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed content and time managing our community, and especially to you, our dear visitors!

What are you playing at the moment??

At least you ended on a high note.

I'm currently playing Supreme Commander 2, and loving every second of it.

I was shooting for a subtle pun there too. :chuckle: It was Thanksgiving that I last played it. I'm bigger on the 3ds and wii lately.

I also have played all games in the NFS series and my most favorite one is Most Wanted. I have played this game more than 2 times, its really great.

I haven't enjoyed a NFS game since the franchise was on the PSX. I wish they'd release the first 3 NFSs on the PSN.

I've barely looked at the PS3 games I've bought. I'm currently playing Tomb Raider Revelation (TR4). I'm hopelessly Old School.

The first PS2 NFS was subtitled Hot Pursuit. Is the PS3 NFS: Hot Pursuit a remake or is it a different animal altogether?

I've for some reason jumped back into playing Ninja Gaiden. I guess the third game being released soon has me excited.

It's less of a remake, and more of a reboot. And I actually didn't find it all that enjoyable. I've followed the NFS games for a long time, and to me the Underground series (and to a lesser extent Undercover and Most Wanted) were at the highlight. Shift, Shift 2, and Hot Pursuit didn't do much for me. I was so excited to grab Hot Pursuit during the Steam sale this year, even picked up a 360 controller just for use on the PC. (Got tired of my PS3 controller interacting poorly with Windows.) And I just haven't even played it. I played maybe half a dozen races.

    It felt off to me.

    Anyway:

Lately I'm playing, Battlefield 3, Minecraft, Total War Shogun 2, and occasional other games sprinkled in.

On the PC I'm only playing Super Meat Boy. But steam won't track my actual time played because the game constantly crashes. :(

That's probably because you're bad at the game and die all the time.

I've never died once playing Super Meat Boy. But that's because I don't suck. :cool2:

I just realized this is about pc gaming.

I was only subscribed to it because I had moved it here from the Bulletin Board forum.

    I'll be going now...

    But first, a question:

Cole, you mentioned your ps3 controller not jibing well with Windows. I didn't even know I could use it on my pc, but I suppose with the usb cable it's no big deal.

I guess I could finally get around to playing those Steam games I won, eh? :link:

Well, yes and no. The PS3 controller doesn't have native drivers for Windows. There are a set of drivers that were created (they are referred to as Hacked drivers, but they are by no means illegal, they are even Windows signed now) that allow you to use the controller on Windows. And it was/is great. Unfortunately (for me) it caused numerous blue screens, and I got tired of dealing with it. So I picked up a 30 dollar Wired 360 controller which works plug and play.

I'm above average. Fun fact my current death rate is at 5,062.

Don't believe this joker. I have 216 levels beat vs this guy's paltry 86. Not to mention all my 216 levels beaten are A+ times.

    I'm pretty awesome basically.

-edit: omigoodness, ps3 controller drivers, never again

I am playing Supaplex at the moment it is a DOS based puzzle game with pretty decent graphics and sound. The game is more like the retro Boulder Dash that most of us might have played.
