Alternate goal sounds:
Press Z when the instant replay begins after
scoring a goal. Press Z again to hear more sounds or hold
Z to activate your opponent's rumble pak.
Five minute power play:
Get into a fight, and do not press any buttons. The
referee will call a five minute major on the other team.
Hint: Easy goals:
Go down towards the goalie (if needed, use reverse
angle), then run down the right hand boards. Wind up before the
blue line (make sure not to be too close to the boards), then
release the shot immediately before you are beside the goalie.
This should work 90% of the time and allow you to get 20 to 30
goals per game.

Play the game in exhibition mode with two controllers. Press Start,
go to the "Controllers" option, and take the second
controller and switch it over to the opposite side. Resume the
game and with the controller two. Pause game play, go to the goalie
option and select "Pulled". Resume the game and score
an easy goal. Note: The goalie will return after you score.

Enable the "Very fast game play and clock" code, then
shoot near the blue line on the left side. You should score many
times.

Go along the left boards and at three quarters of the way between
the blue line and the net, turn right . When you get to the middle
of the net in front of the crease, shoot to the right of the goalie.
This works about 90% of the time.

Hint: Slapshot:
Skate over to the opposing team's goalie with one of
your teammates, but do not get too close. Then with someone on
your team besides yourself, pass the puck to the other person.
Just before the player gets the puck, press Shoot to get
a slapshot with the player being passed to. Note: The two teammates
have be at opposite sides of the arena and not very close together.

Hint: Best team:
Go to the "Trade Players" option in the menu
and search for players with high ratings. Next, trade all of them
to the team of your choice. Look at the team's rating in the menu
with the "Beginner", "Exhibition", "New
Season", "New Playoffs", etc. option. If it is
as high as it can go, all ratings should be slightly less than
the full meter. Good players are Lindros, Sakic, Forsberg, Bure,
Roenick, Brodeur, Roy, Hasek, Pronger, Blake, Lidstrom, Modano,
LeClair, Bondra, and others. If you have a controller/memory pak,
save your roster.

The best team in the game consists of these 25 players. Although
Roy, Hasek and Brodeur are the best goalies statistically, for
some reason Dallas has the best goalies in the game.

Glitch: Extra Skill points for Shooting
Bias:
When you are creating a player, make sure you have
no skill points on Shooting Bias. When you are done with your
skill points, go back to Shooting Bias and set it to full.
Information in this section was contributed by John Delort
and tennissponge1629.
Glitch: Same numbers:
Go to trade players. When you are trading, give your
opponent a number they already have and a number they do not have.
Put the number they have above the one they do not have. Then,
change the number so that they have two of the numbers of the
one they do not have. For example, if both teams have a number
19 and only your team has a number 8, trade them both to the opposite
team but make sure number 19 is above number 8 in the players
to be traded box. When the message stating the other team already
has a number 19 appears, change the number to 8. They should have
a two number 8s. Note: This does not always work.
