The Rock (Alcatraz) bonus track:
Use the following steps to unlock the bonus track. First, complete an entire circuit and save the game. To save time in completing a circuit, enter the following password, start the race and drive very slowly to allow the timer to expire.

Return to the screen labeled "Start Game". Select the "One Race" option, and the "Just Play" sub-option. Press A to select a track. The car selection screen will appear. Hold C-Left, then hold Z. Release both buttons and press Left. Return to the setup screen by pressing B(3), highlight "Setup", and press A. Then, hold C-Up, then hold Z at the setup screen. Release both buttons and press Up. Return to the track selection screen by pressing B, highlighting "One Race", and press A. Highlight "Just Play" and press A. At the track selection screen, hold C-Right, then hold Z. Release both buttons and press Right. Press A to select the current track and display the car selection screen. Hold C-Down and hold Z at the car selection screen. Release both buttons and press Down, L, R. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Press B to return to the track selection screen, then choose track 7.

Mines:
Quickly press L, R, L, R, L, R at the setup screen. All orange traffic cones will turn into touch-sensitive explosive mines.

Upside down tracks:
Press Up, Right, Down, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left at the setup screen.

Race as a mine:
Press C-Right(2), Z, C-Down, C-Up, Z, C-Left(2) at the car selection screen.

Race as a taxi:
Collect at least half of the six to eight keys hidden on any track in a regular race. The cab may only be selected on the same track from which it was unlocked.

Race as a street rod:
Collect all of the six to eight keys hidden on any track in a regular race. The street rod may only be selected on the same track from which it was unlocked.

Race as Formula 1 car:
Complete all 24 races in the Circuit mode in first place. Then, press Z(4) at the track selection screen. The sound of a horn will confirm correct code entry. This can also be accessed by entering the password found under "The Rock (Alcatraz) bonus track" code.

Disable stuck car help:
Press C-Up(4) at the setup screen. An icon with the number "00.06" will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm correct code entry. Cars that become stuck, such as on a wall, will remain at that location and not be moved back onto the course.

Change rear tire size:
Hold C-Right + C-Left (in that order) at the car selection screen. Release both buttons, then hold C-Left + C-Right (in that order). The tires on the car in the preview window will change to confirm correct code entry. Repeat this code to cycle through the tire sizes.

Change front tire size:
Hold C-Left + C-Right (in that order) at the car selection screen. Release both buttons, then hold C-Right + C-Left (in that order). The tires on the car in the preview window will change to confirm correct code entry. Repeat this code to cycle through the tire sizes.

Change car size:
Hold C-Down + C-Up (in that order) at the car selection screen. Release both buttons, then hold C-Up + C-Down (in that order). The size of the car in the preview window will change to confirm correct code entry. Repeat this code to cycle through the car sizes.

Alternate fog color:
Hold Z and press C-Down(3) at the car selection screen. The color of the fog in the preview window will change to confirm correct code entry.

Toggle gravity:
Hold Z and press Up, Down at the setup screen. Release Z and press Up, Down, Up, Down. A weight icon will appear at the top of the screen to confirm correct code entry. Repeat this code to cycle through other gravity settings.

Toggle road textures:
Hold C-Right and press the L at the setup screen. Release the buttons and press Z Button. Hold C-Right then press the L. Release the buttons and press Z Button. A checkered pattern will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm correct code entry. Repeat the code to cycle through normal, none, or rainbow textures.

Toggle camera distance and height:
Hold L and press Up or Down during game play.

Random high score entries:
Press L, R, L, R, L, R, L, R while the "Fast Times" or "Best Laps" information is displayed on the records screen. Blank entries will have random names and scores.

Toggle car collision damage:
Press Left, then hold Right and press C-Right at the setup screen. Release both buttons, then press C-Up, C-Left, C-Down, Z. A bus icon will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm correct code entry.

Crashed car replay:
Crash your car when crossing the finish line. Hold L + R + Z while the phrase "Game Over" is flashing. Release the buttons at the high score screen. The crashed car will be racing in the replay.

Drive crashed car:
Hold C-Up and press Z(4) at the car selection screen. Repeat this code to toggle between two different crashed states.

Resume race from crash location:
Hold Z + C-Left + C-Right (in that order) at the setup screen. Continue to hold Z and release the other buttons. Hold C-Right + C-Left (in that order). Release all buttons. A disabled "R" icon will appear to confirm correct code entry.

Enable special car in circuit mode:
Win a circuit. If the same player is selected again, press Z(4) at the track selection screen to enable the special car.

Toggle race clock:
Hold Z + C-Down + C-Up (in that order) at the setup screen. Continue to hold Z and release the other buttons. Hold C-Up + C-Down (in that order). A disabled clock icon will appear to confirm correct code entry.

Switch control directions:
Highlight the "Mirror" selection on the Options screen. Hold C-Left + C-Right + C-Up + C-Down and press Left or Right to access an "Extreme" option.

Tag mode:
Abort the race during countdown at the beginning of a two player practice game. The timer will start at five minutes for both players. The timer for the player that is "it" will run. This player must tag the other player to make them "it" and force their clock to run. Note: player two is always "it" when the game begins.

Change screen position:
Hold L + R and press the Analog-stick to rotate the screen.

Foggy night mode:
Set the "Fog" option to the "Heavy" setting in the options screen. Hold C-Left + C-Right + C-Up + C-Down and press Right to activate foggy night mode.

Hint: Float in mid-air:
Enable the "Resume race from crash location code". Then, press C-Up and hold Brake during game play. Your car should be floating in mid-air until the invisibility ends. When this happens keep holding Brake and press C-Up to float even higher. For added enjoyment, use this trick in tag mode when your car is not "it".

Hint: Extreme track:
Go to level 2. Go to the area where to lanes split and go to the left lane, where there is a giant ramp. As you jump the ramp, make sure your speed is 120 mph. As you are going up the ramp, stay to the left because the platform on the left is nearest to you. Once you get on the road, get your speed as high as possible. The hidden track is in an orange area. When you go straight after you get on the road, you get in a loop. Top your speed and go up a wall or to the right for a non-stop loop.

Hint: Secret stunt room:
In level 6 (the last level), there is a stunt track inside of the hill. When you get to a giant road that leads up to it and has three ways to go, drive forward until you get near a big hill. Drive all the way until you get to a barrier. Follow the barrier down at a slow speed and you will see an opening to the stunt track inside the hill. Additionally, there is a hidden platform in the secret stunt room: Once inside, one part of the ceiling is grass-like. Drive up the walls and you can reach this platform.

Hold the Analog-stick in the direction you wish to turn. Then, tap Reverse to turn at a sharper angle.

Hint: Better steering:
Enter the setup screen and enable the "Toggle gravity" code twice so two weights appear. Although the cars may not be able to jump too high, they will may be steered more easily.

Hint: Go through wall:
Enable the "Unlimited Time", "No-Auto Abort", and "Ressurect In Place" codes. Go near the area on track five where the boats are located. Find the shortcut where you go between two fences and houses and jump a ramp of grass. There should be a clothes-line near the ramp. Jump the ramp and land using the abort button on top of the house, dead-in front of the ramp. The roof is orange and is slanted in one direction. Go left onto the roof of the house connected to it. You can now drive through the peak of the next connecting house and get inside. This is a good hiding location for tag.

Hint: Kill the Drones:
Enable the "Unlimited Time" and "No Auto-Abort" codes, which makes the "00.06" appear on the setup screen. Start a death race on a track with a lot of jumps. Turn on the wind and watch the other cars go flying and destroy themselves. On Alcatrez, watch the cars jump the roof, fly over the edge of the cliff, over the lower road, and into the building or into the bay.

Hint: Fun with Drones:
Enable the "Unlimited Time" code and wait until the Drones have finished the race. You can now push their cars anywhere on the track and they will steer.

Hint: Collecting the keys:
You can turn the game timer off by enabling the "Toggle race clock" code to get unlimited time to get the key. You can enable the "Resume race from crash location" code so you do not have go back again. Note: You will be unable to get the key in practice mode. This works with one race or circuit mode.
