The Last Starfighter

Hint: General tips:
Shoot as many enemies and ground targets as you can until you get the "Land Now" signal at the top of the screen.

Work your way as far right as you can go. There are several landing zones along the way, with arrows facing to the right on them. However, the only one you can land on is the very last one all the way on the right (you will go as far as you can go and will automatically turn around and head back left).

To land, approach that very last landing strip with the arrows on it from the left side. The moment you fly over the strip with the arrows, hold Left to slow down, and instead of turning back to the left, you will actually land, as the ship lowers itself down to the runway. You cannot land by flying in from the right side. Once you actually achieve this it will seem easy, but it actually seemed complicated until then.

You will then play a bonus game where you must press the button when the bonus score appears. It really does not matter how you do in the bonus round, as even if you do not get a bonus you will fly away and the base will explode. Then, onto the next level.

There are fifteen levels in all. The later ones are difficult, as there are obstacles all over the place to avoid and many of those heat-seeking sparks coming after you.
