Super blaster:
Intentionally lost a life four times in the exact same location, then continue game play. Doctor Light will give Mega Man a super blaster.

Hint: Hidden balloon:
Go across the top part of Pharoah Man's level. Do not enter the pit when it appears. Instead, use Rush to get across it. Go right, and you will reach more quicksand. Keep going to reach some platforms. There will be a small container marked with a B. This is the balloon.

Hint: Hidden Energy Tank:
At the beginning of the first stage of the Dr. Cossack levels, after it says ''Ready'', go To the left of the stage. Keep going until you hear a noise. If you heard it, you have obtained the Energy Tank.
Information in this section was contributed by Redeyezbdrag0n.

Hint: Easy Energy Tanks:
Enter Skull Man's level and obtain two or three "E" tanks. Keep repeating this process until you have the maximum of nine "E" tanks. There is a 20% chance that a smaller robot will pop out an Energy Tank. Otherwise, you will get a health orb, ammunition, or extra life.

Hint: Hidden wire:
Begin game play on Dive Man's level. Fall into the small pit that appears soon after the continue point. Avoid the spikes that line the walls and fall all the way down. A container marked W can be found once you reach the bottom. This is the wire.

Boss 1: M. Buster Charge
Dr. Wily Battle 1: Dust
Dr. Wily Battle 1: M. Buster Charge
Dr. Wily Final Battle: Pharaoh Shot Charge.

Hint: 2-in-1 Pharaoh Buster:
After the Pharaoh Buster is charged you can run it into an enemy, and when its gone, release the button and shoot it again.
Information in this section was contributed by Kendrick Childers.

Hint: Defeating Dr. Wily (round 1):
When facing Dr. Wily for the first time he will shoot three times then stop. When the battle begins, stand under the blasting skull mouth and shoot with the M. Buster or Dust Crusher until he is defeated.
Information in this section was contributed by Cassensjim.

Hint: Defeating Dr. Wily (round 2):
After defeating Dr. Wily the first time he will transform his robotic machine into a different machine during the same battle. This Boss is more difficult than the last one, and will constantly shoot at start of the battle. Wait for the machine to move as far back as it can and fire with the M. Buster into the orb in the center. This Boss battle is very long and can be very difficult with no energy tanks.
Information in this section was contributed by Cassensjim.

Hint: Defeating Dr. Wily (round 3):
This the most difficult Boss battle of the game. This Boss has about five hits and will randomly appear at any location in the battle. Memorize every location and attack it with Pharaoh Shot. This Boss is difficult to see but it is easy to defeat if you have full ammunition for the Pharaoh Shot.

Hint: Defeating Dr. Wily (final battle):
Many weapons will not work against Dr. Wily during the final battle. Only two are effective -- the Pharaoh Shot and Ring Boomerang. The Pharaoh Shot works the best. You can charge it up (B) and release it in six directions. Also, when it is charged up you can run into Dr. Wily with the power-up shot above your head, then shoot it again (release B). You will be able to defeat Dr. Wily with the Ring Boomerang, but it takes a lot longer and you cannot miss him at all. Once Dr. Wily is defeated, the game will end.

Hint: Effective weapon use:
The following videos can be used as a guide to demonstrate each robot masters weakness (referring to the recommended weapon the player should use to easily defeat each Boss). Although the fights are not perfectly executed, they do effectively demonstrate how to utilize each weapon at Megaman's disposal. They are a compilation of all original 46 robot master fights, in no particular order. [Video part 1] [Video part 2] [Video part 3]

Glitch: Double Pharaoh shot:
Charge up the Pharaoh shot and hit it with either an aerial enemy or an enemy on the ceiling. However, do not release the button. The charged-up Pharaoh shot will be gone. Release the button. It should fire another Pharaoh shot.
Information in this section was contributed by Ryan.

Glitch: Black armor color:
At the end of any level just before you enter the Boss' lair, charge up with the M. Buster (starting weapon). As you enter through the door, shoot the charge. For a few seconds the color of Mega Man's armor should turn black then immediately return to its normal color.
