Play as Samus with bonus weapons: Enter JUSTIN BAILEY ------ ------ as a password
to play as Samus at Ridley's Lair.

Super password: Enter NARPAS SWORD0 0000_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ as a
password. Note: "_" indicates a space, and except for
the letter "O" in "SWORD", the remaining characters
are the number zero. You will start at the beginning of the game
with unlimited life, unlimited missiles, and all upgrades. The
word in this is "NAR PASSWORD". "NAR" is an
abbreviation for the name of the person who designed the password
system, Tohru Narihiro.
Information in this section was contributed by Kurobei Neko.
Alternate game: Enter 999999 999999 KKKKKK KKKKKK as a password
with no Varia suit and a different ending.
Super jump: Hold Right on controller two and press A
on controller one.
Quit game play: Press Start to pause game play. Hold Up
+ A on controller two to display the current password.
High Jump, Ice Beam, Varia, No bombs, 10
hour ending: Enter Daniel Daniel Daniel Daniel as a password
to start without morph ball bombs, but they are not in the game.
You will start in Norfair, with 139 missiles with a maximum of
205, and two Energy Tanks. One of the Energy Tanks is from the
area to the right of the hall where you bomb down to get the Ice
Beam. The only other Energy Tank you can get without bombs is
all the way right from the Energy Tank previously described. You
will be in a golden corridor, and have to use the Ice Beam to
freeze enemies and jump up to a door. If you had bombs, this one
is the Energy Tank to the right of the corridor where you go up
to find the Varia Suit. The ending that is shown is the one for
taking over 10 hours to complete the game.

Hint: Play as Samus without her suit: Complete the first quest without dying and with all
the items (ice beam as your gun weapon). Press Start after
the credits have completed. If you have completed the game correctly,
Samus will take off her suit in the ending. You will start with
all your items you gained in the previous quest minus your missiles
and suit in the next game.

Hint: Refill energy easily: Go to a pipe that has enemies constantly appearing
at ground level with no other enemies around. Just keep shooting
and the enemies will fly into your bullets, leaving energy and
other items.
Information in this section was contributed by Threefiddy350.
Hint: Defeating Kraid: Use the Ice Beam to freeze the center spike in mid-air
as he shoots. Then, use your missiles to shoot the bare spot where
the spike was located.
Information in this section was contributed by Gale Gleason.
To defeat Kraid fast and easily, morph into a ball and start planting
bombs all over him until he is defeated. To make this easier,
you must get the Varia Suit and about three Energy Tanks.
Hint: Defeating Ridley: Note: This requires a lot of missiles. When you are
on the platform, go to the little step where Ridley is located.
Weaken him with normal shots, then shoot him with missiles until
he is dead.

Hint: Shooting walls and ghost walls: In various parts of the game, you may find yourself
blocked or cut off. You are either stuck or you can try shooting
the walls around you. If you are lucky, one of the blocks will
break. If it does, continue shooting until you cannot shoot further.
Then, jump and try moving to the left or right. There is usually
a ghost wall that you can go through. This trick is useful for
gathering power-ups and finding secrets.

Glitch: Wall jump: This trick requires the Morph ball Shoot a door to
open it, then stand in the threshold until it closes again. You
can then move slowly up the wall by pressing Up and Down
rapidly. Alternately, if using a controller with a turbo feature,
press B rapidly while tapping Down for the same
effect. In some vertical hallways you can work your way up the
hall. Once you are near the top of the screen, jump repeatedly
to make the scrolling screen catch up to you. If you do not let
the scrolling screen catch up to you, then it starts to go back
down the hall, until you come back from the bottom of the screen.
By going through the ceiling or floor of some halls, you can find
some secret areas that were not intentionally designed. These
places usually make no sense in terms of room layout, and often
have no way out.

Glitch: Enemies fly through the door with
you: Note: This trick requires perfect timing, and only
works with the flying bug enemies. Enter an area with a bug pipe
nearby. Wait for a bug to appear. When it flies toward you, open
the door and run in just as it is about to hit you. When you go
into the other area, it should fly past you then disappear out
of nowhere.

Glitch: Get up in certain areas: In some areas you will find a wall of breakable stone.
Shoot a hold into it so that you can jump into it. Make sure you
are facing the wall, then aim up, jump and fire. The blocks underneath
will reappear, moving you higher, until you can reach the door
at the top.
