Hint: Fantasia shortcut:
After the snake curve, head right to reach the 90° turn. After passing this curve, there will be a hairpin turn with two signs pointing right. About a half sign length to the right of the sign that is further right is a thin pathway that is a major shortcut. It will require a leap of faith and some skill.

Hint: FF8 Circuit:
After passing though the tunnel, after the third curve, at the lowest part of the map just before the ramp that leads to the hairpin curve, take an immediate right. It is easy to miss.
Information in this section was contributed by KagatoX.

Hint: Gingerbread Land shortcut:
Take the branch off to the right, and do not try and get all five Item Spheres on the main track.
Information in this section was contributed by KagatoX.

Hint: Mythril Mines shortcut:
After entering the second tunnel, almost immediately turn left and enter a smaller tunnel. At the end of this tunnel, turn left to go back on the main road.
Information in this section was contributed by John Harris.

Hint: Goblin:
If Goblin tries to steal your item, press Start. If done correctly, you will find that Goblin's troop is a Jack.
Information in this section was contributed by Sho Murooka.

Hint: Audience:
On certain levels there is an audience watching the race. The basic audience you can see on the side of the road are some Marlboro, a few Bombs, and some other strange creatures from the Final Fantasy series. In the racetrack known as the "FF8 Circuit", the audience is made up of members of SeeD and Galbadia Soldiers from Final Fantasy 8.

Hint: Over the ditch with Jack:
The only way you can get through the Gingerbread level with Jack is to equip him with Dash, get him a Charge, or pick up Haste. When Jack is on the track, there is a ditch later in the course that requires enough speed for a jump, but he normally is too slow.

Hint: Miss ice spells:
On freestyle, choose Wht Mage or Drk Mage to float over ice spells.

Hint: Perfect race:
Play as Jack in versus mode. Your enemy should be Cactuar or also Jack. Equip yourself with Charge or Dash. Give your opponent anything but Dash and Charge. Select the Gingerbread level. Whenever you reach the ditch, use your special to jump over it, because you are too slow to jump over it otherwise. Your opponent will never be able to get over it because he is too slow, and you will always win.

You can get through over the ditch Jack and Cactaur by using the Dash ability or Charge. You can also use the Reverse to get through the ditch. All characters have a limit reverse speed of 70 mph, which is just enough for Jack to pass through the ditch. This means that Jack's reverse speed is faster than his acceleration speed, with just a limit of 50 to 60 mph. The same can be done with Cactuar.

GameShark codes

Ice cube characters (Japanese version):
Note: This trick requires a GameShark or Pro Action Replay cartridge. Enable the following code:

D00AB72A 1040
800AB72A 1000
801E929C 037F
80078166 0FFF

Play the game in story mode and eventually, most of the time, in the Vulcan-O Valley course, your character will appear trapped in a large ice cube. The only way you can move is with your special or with any other move that has a speed up effect.
