Madden NFL 2001

Final Madden Card:
Buy all Gold, Silver, And bronze Madden Cards in each set of fourteen. After all 296 cards have been obtained, a 297th card (number 000) with the All-Time Madden team will be unlocked. You can use the Madden Cards to put players on rosters, cheats within the game, use legendary players, and unlock old teams, stadiums, or legendary teams.

Always win the coin toss:
Repeatedly Start before text appears on the coin toss screen.

Always get the ball on kick off:
Turn penalties off. When it is time for you to kick off, select an on sidekick. Kick the ball to the left at lowest power. If done correctly, you will fall on the ball and get possession.

Recover onside kicks:
Repeatedly press R1 to recover all onside kicks.

Touchdown celebrations:
Enter one of the following codes after scoring a touchdown.

Hip Thrust: Press L1 + Square.
Jump Spike: Press L1 + Circle.
Say a Prayer: Press L1 + Triangle.
Shoulder Shake: Press L1 + R1.
Slam Dunk: Press L1 + R2.
Spike Football: Press L1 + X.

Hint: Slam dunk on opposite goal post:
After a touchdown, attempt a 2 point conversion. If you succeed, hold L1 + R2 before the whistle is blown. Your player will run to the other side to slam dunk. You can also do any other touchdown celebration by holding the necessary buttons before the whistle, but they will not run to the other side.

Hint: Full stats in exhibition mode:
Edit a player in exhibition mode. Highlight any attribute except for "Overall". Press X to change that stat, up to 99. This will allow you to get 99 rated players without going over the salary cap.

Hint: Madden Cards:
There are three different value levels of the cards: Gold (4), Silver (2), and Bronze (1). The cards each serve one use, except for stadium cards, team cards, and historical players, which are always active. The other cards are for cheat codes and boosting player attributes. All cards last the entire game, but lower level cards are less effective. You earn Madden Cards by purchasing them with Madden Tokens. Madden Tokens are earned by accomplishing certain feats during game play. There are five levels of feats to accomplish, and you get more tokens for the higher difficulty level.

Hint: Easy Madden Cards:
Play one game and get the tokens. Make sure there are enough to buy some packs of cards. Save the profile to different times on different profile names. Make one a permanent file and the other just for trading. Then, trade three Gold Madden Cards for one Bronze Card. Keep doing this until you have many cards. Sell the cards you just traded until there are enough Tokens to buy a new pack. Repeat this process until you get the desired number of Cards.

Hint: Easy Madden Tokens:
In exhibition mode, create a full defense and make it as worse as possible. Then, make a bad HB, FB, QB, TE, T, and G. Go to the "Depth Chart" section in "Roster" (custom options) and start all of the bad players. Set the options to "All Madden" difficulty and turn on "Modified rosters". Then, play against the bad team with the Tiburon, EA sports, or Ecko teams.

Turn the salary cap off, then create a HB. Put all stats to 100, weight to 310 pounds, height to 7 feet 2 inches. Then create a QB, 7 feet 2 inches, 225 lbs, all stats to 100. Put them on the same team to get Madden tokens easily.

Hint: Easy Madden points:
Choose your favorite and least favorite teams. Enter the rosters screen and select the "Edit Player" option. Make everyone on your favorite team a perfect 99 points for everything, then go to you least favorite team's roster and make everyone on their team the minimum 15 for everything. Save your roster changes. Repeatedly play in exhibition mode and do your best; run kickoffs and punts for touchdowns, let yourself get tackled, and run for 96 yards for a touchdown, etc. This can result in over 1000 points in a game.

Hint: Easy interception:
Use the following trick if you are down late in the game against the CPU, and on are defense and need to get the ball back. Line up in a punt receiving formation. The CPU will call an audible and you should also do so. The CPU calls the audible for a passing play. Then, you can intercept the ball, getting another chance to score.

When you need 4 or 5 yards in one run, use the I-Form and toss right.

Choose any team, then pick select D. Jauron's playbook. Go to "Singleback Normal" and pick "HB Sweep". You will run to the left. Keep tapping X. Then, one person will appear, press L1 to juke left. You will now be free to run. Make sure you are tapping X at all times.

Hint: Easy sacks:
Select FG Block for your defense. Select your starting right defensive end and move him next to your left defensive end. Then, rush the QB at full speed and you should get a sack. This works best when you have a fast DE.

On defense, pick the "Gut Blitz" play then move the man next to the end to the middle lined up with the other three players. When the QB snaps the ball, run down between two of the offensive players.

Hint: Easy win:
Choose to receive the ball if you win the coin toss at the beginning of the game. When the ball is given to you in the second half, onside kick it. You should get the ball in both halves.

Hint: Good defense:
Use the following steps for consistent good defense against the CPU and good blitz coverage. On defense, anytime you select a play with one or more LB or DB blitzing, select a lineman (preferably a quick one). After the ball is hiked on a pass play, use him to cover a running back instead of pass rushing (or tight end if all RBs are blocking) by running mostly to the side and upfield. Depending on which lineman you choose, it will leave a side of the offensive line with too many pass rushers to handle. If the CPU selects a run play, it is best to react by running straight for the running back instead of running backwards to cover upfield. The opposing team will either get sacked, throw an incomplete pass, run the ball for no gain, or throw an interception on a very consistent basis.

Hint: Block punts:
Select "Punt Block", then move three men over to the left. starting with the first man to the right of the center until the end man is not lined up on the safety any more. If done correctly, the three men moved should be blocked on the left end, and the SS and the RB/FB should run in unblocked to stop the punter before he kicks the ball. Select the SS and run at the punter as fast as possible when the ball is snapped. Substitute a fast SS on defensive subs on the punt block play.

Enter create a player mode and make a RG, LG ,C, and T. Set their attributes to 7'2", 399 pounds, then put them on the Bears. Then, go to trade player, trade the QB for Kurt Warner. Trade the HB for Ricky Williams or Eddie George. Trade two WR for Randy Moss and Cris Carter. Then trade the two TE for Frank Wycheck and Shannon Sharpe. Trade the two DE for Kevin Carter and Jevon Kearse. Trade the two DL for Warren Sapp and John Randle. Keep Brian Urlacher and trade another LB for Hardy Nickerson. Finally trade four CB for Deion Sanders, Ty Law, Jason Sehorn, and John Lynch. This will create an unstoppable team.
