Note: This game is also titled Speed Freaks.

Race as Cosworth:
Finish in first place in all races in the Easy tournament. Then, defeat Cosworth at Millennium Park.

Win the Easy tournament by finishing all four races in the pole position. Then defeat Cosworth. Be careful, as Cosworth makes use of a shortcut in the last lap. Its position is right on the left side of the first jump -- search for stars on the grass and little water falls. Try using it to keep yourself in first place.

Race as Tetsuo:
Finish in first place in all races in the Medium tournament. Then, defeat Tetsuo at City One.

To unlock Tetsuo, win the Medium tournament by finishing all four races in the pole position. Then, defeat Tetsuo in Silver City. He uses a shortcut located after the second tunnel. Just after it, go on the bushes on the left. You will now be running in the shortcut which leads to the entrance of the first tunnel. He uses it once or twice, and he is very good at swifting on the boost pods located on the track. Keep running fast steadily .

Race as Beamer:
Finish in first place in all races in the Hard tournament.

Beamer is the hardest challenge. Not only you have to finish all four races of the Hard tournament in the pole position, but you will have to challenge him in the Grand Rapids. This is quite difficult because you must turn often and be careful not to crash into the wall. The two shortcuts are located near each other. Once you take the first you will automatically see and go towards the second. The first shortcut is located after the bridge and the part with the little isle. Once you enter in the tunnel, notice the wooden part. Near it (and almost behind) is the shortcut. The second is directly in front of the end of the first. It is easy to see because it is just a sort of space between two stony walls. Beamer takes shortcuts often, especially in the second and third lap. Given the ability of the CPU to face turnings and sudden direction shifts, you will have a hard time even using shortcuts. However it is actually possible to defeat and unlock Beamer.

Easy turbo:
Hold the brakes and accelerate at the same time. The kart should just stay in the same location. When you release the brakes the turbo will automatically activate.

Full turbo bar:
Hold the brakes and accelerate at the same time, do two 360s, then release brakes to get a full turbo bar.

Quick start:
Hold Square until the green light disappears, then hold X.

Press the Accelerate in the lapse of time between the third and the last "beep" of the starting lights to get a bonus boost. Based on the accuracy with which you did this, you will have (going from the least accurate to the most) a great start (with approximately one third of the boost bar filled), an excellent start (with one half or one third of the boost bar filled) or a perfect start (with the boost bar completely filled). A perfect start has the boost power of a full boost bar and allows you to start the race with an outstanding speed boost.

Unlimited weapons:
Collect a machine gun, missile, bomb or other weapon power-up, but do not use it in the current race. Finish the race in first place. You will have unlimited use of that weapon during the next race.

Hint: Shortcut:
In level 1, near the finish line, jump off the ship at full speed with turbo. You will pass well over the finish line and also may gain a few places.

Hint: Avoid homing missile:
When you have a homing missile behind you, pass a player before it hits you. The player you passed will instead be hit.
