Tempest 2000 and Tempest Plus games: Play the game until you earn the top spot at the high
score screen. You must earn over 500,000 points to get there.
Once you have done this, the game will prompt for a five character
name in addition to the usual three-letter initials. Enter H_V_S
as your name, where ''_'' indicate a space in the second and the
fourth position. You will find two new game modes at the main
menu. "Tempest Plus" and "Tempest 2000".

Alternately, enter YIFF! As your name at the high score
screen.
Gay symbol: Earn a high score and enter GAY as initials.
A pink triangle will appear in the high score screen background.
Frequent power-ups: Begin a game in Temptest X3 mode and shoot the first
target in the stage. Fire the supperzapper before the power-up
reaches the top of the grid. Do not take this power-up. Continue
normal game play to receive power-ups from most of the targets.
Entering cheat mode: Press R1 + L1 + Triangle + Circle
+ Up + Left + Select + Start at the
"Select Game Type" menu. A grinding noise will confirm
correct code entry. The easiest way to activate this combination
is to hold the bottom of the controller to your chest. Press R1
and L1 with your thumbs. Press the other buttons simultaneously
with your remaining fingers. Enter one of the following cheat
mode controller actions:
Trippy mode Hold R1 + L2 + Triangle + X, then
press Up at any screen.
.MOD song Hold L2 + R1 + Triangle, + X,
then press Right. The next stage will have music played
in .MOD format.
Remix song Hold L2 + R1 + Triangle, + X,
then press Left. The next stage will have remixed music.
Hidden song Hold R1 + L2 + Triangle + X, then
press Down at any screen. The starting screen appear and
a hidden song will begin playing.
Level skip Press R1 + L2 during game play to skip to the
next level, when the web contains no enemies. This will occur
at the beginning of the level, or after pressing L1 + L2
+ R1 + R2 and using a Superzapper.
A.I. Droid Hold L2 + R1 + Triangle, + X,
then press Down. The A.I. Droid will say "Attack"
to confirm correct code entry. Complete the current stage without
losing a life or another cheat code. The first power-up on the
next stage will be the A.I. Droid.
