Change batting stance:
When you are in a season and are up to bat, you can
change your player's stance by pressing R1 or L1.
With a right-handed batter, press L1(3) if it is an inside
pitch. If it is an outside pitch press R1(3).

Hint: Perfect game:
Enable the "Strike out the batter" code for
each player, but instead of throwing a real pitch, press Down
+ Square to throw a pitch out. The batter will not swing,
and the pitch will count as all three strikes. Repeat during the
entire game to end with a perfect 27 strike out game (if the visitor)
or 24 strike out game (if the home team).

When it is your turn for defense, switch your controller to the
opposing team. Hold Circle (bunt). You will bunt the ball
on the first pitch, and the pitcher or catcher will get it and
throw to first for the out. Repeat the process, and go on to offense.
Do the same thing for the rest of the game. Another strategy is
to hold Up and do a power or normal swing when your team
is on defense, and the controls are switched. This will hit a
pop fly for an easy out. However power hitters such as Sammy Sosa
or Ken Griffey Jr. may hit a home runs. Use the bunt tactic for
them.

Hint: Run faster:
Repeatedly press X to increase the runner's
speed.

Hint: Easy hits:
When you are up at bat, switch controls to the other
team and select a fastball down the middle. Before the pitch starts,
switch back to your team. The fastball down the middle should
give you a good hitting opportunity.
Hint: Grounders:
If you have a pitcher that has a slider, use it then
press Down + X. This usually forces the batter to
hit a grounder, unless you are opposing the EA Dream Team.

Hint: Pop outs:
When you are on defense with a pitcher that has a slider,
use that pitch. Then, press Up + X to throw high
in the strike zone. The batter will swing and usually pop the
ball up to be caught your pitcher or catcher.

Hint: Home runs:
Left fielderRickey Henderson homers seven out of ten
times when you hold Up and do a power swing. The same thing
can be done with Garret Anderson. They just have some form of
glitch that makes them power hitters, especially since Henderson
never was a power hitter, is old, and has a 75 rating. The likelihood
of a home run increases when you have a runner on any base. Have
him attempt a steal and do a power swing without holding Up.

Hint: Prevent outs:
When batting and you hit a ball that is easy to field,
switch controls to the other team before it is fielded and intentionally
misplay the ball. Then, switch back to your team to run the bases.
Hint: Better defense:
Before throwing the first pitch, move the outfield
in two "clicks" and over either to the left or right
to align the center fielder behind the pitcher. Note: The center
fielder should not be all the way up (at second base). If that
happens, move him back one click. Most of the time, with any line
drive or normal base hit to the outfield, you can throw the runner
out at first base by using a "power throw". This works
especially well with the "Powerup Defense". There is
also still time to get back to the wall if he hits a long fly.

Glitch: Ground rule double off a ground
ball:
Play as the Dream Team and hit a ball that bounces
once it is hit with Erik T. Kiss. It will hit the ground and fly
into the outfield and go into the stands.
Information in this section was contributed by FlipFlop2000.
Glitch: High fly ball:
Play against the Dream Team. When Erik T. Kiss is at
bat, throw a high fast ball or a high breaking ball. He will pop
it up. Note: The ball will be in the air for seven to ten seconds.
