Hint: Easy Crashbreaker:
Press X when your Crashbreaker meter is at 99%. You will only have to tap Circle two or three times to get a full Crashbreaker.

Hold R1 until the Crashbreaker meter gets to 100%. When it does, it will be easier to blow up your car with R2.

Use Impact Time on Crash events before the Crashbreaker meter fills. The slower time makes the Crashbreaker easier to bring back up to 100% without having to wildly tap the button.

Hint: Easy Crashbreaker Race wins:
Choose a small car between "super light" and "light" that can reach at least 180 mph top speed. The Limited R190 DX is recommended because of its style, speed, and agility. At the beginning, hold X + R1 for the majority of the race so that you will automatically use Speed Boost as soon as you get it. Try to catch up with the cars ahead of you. Once you are speeding next to a car, slam him as hard as you can against a wall or any other solid object. If you happen to crash, keep X + R1 held so you can time the perfect Crashbreaker explosion (R2) on an opponent that happens to cross your path. Note: Opponents are only affected by Crashbreaker explosions if they have not been damaged by anything else (such as a wall or nearby big rig). Therefore, the screen will not give you credit by saying "Takedown", "Instant revenge", etc. Follow this strategy for the rest of the race and you should have a good finish.

Hint: Reduce crashes around curves:
When going around a curve do not release X. Press Circle (brake) and turn in the desired direction and you will drift around the curve. This will help lessen crashes.

Hint: Drifting around corners:
When drifting around a corner (mainly hairpins), if your car is oversteering into the inside wall hold NOS and it will move away from the wall. If your car is heading for the outside wall, release Accelerate and it will move away from the wall.

When you turn a corner, put on the brakes. Once you drift around the corner turn on your nitrous until you get straight on the next road or path.

Hold X to accelerate and R1 to automatically use speed boost once you get it. While coming to a "U" turn or any other big turn, hold Square without releasing the other two buttons to drift. This strategy allows you to take on tricky turns while maintaining your speed.

Hint: Glancing off corners:
Glance off a corner (not crash into it) while turning or drifting around it. You can hold Boost to return to top speed a lot faster than waiting for the car to accelerate itself. This is very useful on "Burning Lap" and "Preview" events where the gold medal is difficult to collect.

Hint: Heavy cars:
Heavy cars ar best at smashing through traffic, but slower with less Aftertouch responsiveness (but are less affected by wind). They have the most powerful Crashbreakers.

Medium cars are good all-rounders with balanced weight, speed and Crashbreakers that promise decent crash performances.

Light cars are quick, agile, and jump well but lack power in impacts and Crashbreakers. Aftertouch skills are tested when jumping in strong winds.

During game play or just before the game play where it tells you which standards you must meet for which ranking (Gold, Silver, and Bronze ), press L2 to cycle through each music track. At the bottom left corner. the "EA" thing will show up showing what band, song, and album title is currently playing (i.e. Yellow Card - Lights and Sounds).
