Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex

Alternate ending sequence:
Collect all 46 gems.

Hint: Avalanche: Getting all the boxes:
While riding the snowboard and the avalanche is chasing you, do not try to get the boxes. The alvalanche destroys them for you. Just keep boarding.

Hint: Arctic Antics: Extra lives:
After you have defeated the Boss in level 4 and earned the bazooka, return to level 1, Arctic Antics. Shoot the three woolly mammoths to get extra lives.

Once you defeat the second Boss and have the "Double Jump", jump on the heads of the woolly mammoths (you do not have to wait for the bazooka). You will get an extra life for each woolly mammoth you jump on. Note: For the one at the end, you can get up the glaciers if you keep trying.

Go to the bonus platform and go through the bonus level. When you get back, jump to the right. You should hit a woolly mammoth and get one extra life if you jumped on it. You have to jump back quickly because the woolly mammoth vanishes.

At the end of the level, there is a mammoth on top of some ice towers. Once you get the Double Jump, you can use it to hop on the ice towers then jump on the mammoth.

Hint: Arctic Antics: Blue Gem:
This is a very difficult trick to complete. Jump on the bonus panel (platform) and hold up the bazooka. Aim above and between the two penguins at the Death Area and shoot. This must be done very quickly. If done correctly, as soon as you land at the Bonus Area the Blue Gem will be yours.

Hint: Bamboozled: Shortcut:
Start a time trial on the Bamboozled level. When you get to the parts where the track twists like a slide, turn right sharply and land on the tracks below .If done correctly, you can take six to ten seconds off your time.

Hint: Bamboozled: Back to start shortcut:
Instead of going back to start regularly, go the area where all of the Nitro Boxes are located. Roll fast along the side closest to the main path. If done correctly, you should land back at the starting area.
Penguin Fire.

Hint: Bamboozled: Fall into ground:
In this level, you can fall into the ground, not knowing if you are dead or alive. Go down a little more than halfway on the first loop. Roll off directly next to a pole and you should fall through the ground.

Hint: Bamboozled: Extra lives :
If you are careful, you can get about at least seven extra lives with all the apples, crates ,and Crash Bandicoot boxes. Keep playing the level to get more.

Hint: Bonzai Bonsai: Super belly flop power:
After acquiring the Red Gem, go to the Bonzai Bonsai level. Jump onto the Red Gem, then make your way to the end to find a gem and the Super Belly Flop power.

After you pass that "maze", jump over the fish, and kill the magic opponent with the blades, land on the bridge where the red gem is at. You will be brought to a secret spot. Get passed the secret. Near the warp, you will see a new power-up. Get it to be rewarded with the Super Belly Flop. You must have all the colored gems first. Any other level with Coco should have a gem-looking platform, but with different colors.

Blue gem: Arctic Antics
Green gem: Wizards and Lizards
Purple gem: The Gauntlet
Red gem: Crash and Burn
Yellow gem: Gold Rush

Hint: The Compact Reactor: Rare gem:
In level 5, "The Compact Reactor", as soon as you get in the cart tilt it to the left. Tilt your way through the nitro boxes. When you break through the sign, tilt to your right. Your cart wiil break the sign and it will continue to move. Tilt your way through the boxes and at the end you find the rare gem.

Hint: Crash And Burn: Red Gem:
Do not try to jump the big gap. The warp zone at the end is an illusion, and you cannot get there. Instead, use the bazooka and shoot it. Do not worry if you die, because you will retain the gem.

When going for the Red Gem, you actually can jump the big gap. It is a long distance, but it can be done by double jumping and doing a good Death Tornado Spin.

When you get the the skull and crossbones platform to appear and go through the area, when you get to the end there is a big pit of lava. Instead of jumping over the pit, shoot the gem with the bazooka.

If you cannot get over the hole were the Red Gem is behind, you can just shoot the gem with the Bazooka and jump into the hole. Complete the level and you will have the Red Gem.

Hint: Crunch Time: Safe locations:
When Crunch releases the elementals, sometimes there are safe locations you can use. When he releases Wa Wa, stay at the bottom of the screen. The water balls cannot get you there. When Crunch releases Lo-Lo, stay on the metal part where the lasers are at the top to avoid getting hit.

Hint: Crunch Time: Fire Elemental Pyro:
When Crunch releases the fire elemental Pyrom hop onto the pipe behind you to avoid getting burned. You can do this by jumping to another platform, but its much easier to use the tactic that avoids the steam coming out of the grounds

Hint: H2 Oh No: Bonus area:
There is a chain of Nitro Boxes surrounded by TNT Boxes in the bonus area of this level. Do not worry about detonating the TNT on the left. Instead "sneak shoe" across the Nitro Boxes, and on the right side, get ready to jump up and collect the top Box. Get out of the way after detonating the TNT Box. If done correctly, you will cause a chain reaction that destroys all the boxes in the chain.

Hint: Warp Room 2: Extra lives:
In the second Warp Room, there is a little polar bear cub near one of the doors. You can get extra lives if you body slam it six or seven times.

Hint: Wizards And Lizards: Green Gem:
Find the green outlined platform. Jump down the hole and you will not die.

Hint: Sea Shell Shenanigans: Box warning:
In the level, you will see a lot of boxes hidden by plants. Before you smash them, make sure that they are not TNT crates.

Hint: Wizards And Lizards: 3 second time trial:
Hit the clock at the start of the level to start the time trial. Then, press Select. You will warp to the end of the level and earn your Platinum Relic.

Hint: Wizards And Lizards: Level warp:
Touch the stopwatch icon, then immediately press Start. You will be warped to the end of the level.

Hint: Defeating Crunch Time:
Every time freezeballs, beams, or fire comes out, jump over the fence into the inside platform. They cannot touch you there, but fireballs will land everywhere -- just watch for their shadows. There is a series of elements you have to avoid. Then shoot Crunch with the bazooka and spin Cortex. The series is: fireballs, shoot Crunch, spin Cortex, freezeballs, fireballs, shoot Crunch, spin Cortex, fire, fireballs, freezeballs, fire, shoot Crunch, spin Cortex, beams, fireballs, fire, beams, freezballs, fireballs, beams, shoot Crunch, spin Cortex. If you win, you will unlock five secret levels for which you must collect a certain amount of relics in order to open the doors.

Hint: Defeating Lo-Lo:
Watch where the mask floats and shoot there.

The mask floats near certain areas of the creature when about to do certain assaults. For example, it floats near his left hand when he is about to throw a wind ball at you. To avoid the wind ball, particularly at the end when he only throws wind balls at you, wait in the middle then swerve hard to the right. It will go straight past you. This also sets you up well (when he only throws the wind balls) to shoot the mask as it floats around the hand again. To avoid the flurry of wind balls, swerve hard to the left, stay low, and just make slight adjustments as you see the balls coming. Then, return to the middle as they finish to get the mask. To avoid the "wind blanket", watch the vibrations he sends out before it comes and note where the gap is located. Fly as close to the bottom of the screen as you can near where you think the gap is. You should now have time to make adjustments when you see it come down. To avoid the "wind tube", fly in a circular fashion around the tube as it moves in the direction it is moving to stay ahead of it.

Hint: Defeating Py-Ro:
Hold Square to charge the water cannon or you will never hit.

Go near Crunch to hurt him.

To defeat Py-Ro, run backwards when Crunch charges at you. Dodge the flaming rocks that he throws at you until you reach the robot. You will automatically jump into it. Chase Crunch back up the path while charging your water cannon by holding Circle. Charge for about three seconds, then hold Square to activate your water cannon. Get close to Crunch to kill him. This has to be done three times. However, every time Crunch will throw more flaming rocks and be faster. Sometimes the rocks will split into two, and once in a while he will launch a very big rock that you will have to double jump over.

Hint: Defeating: Ro-Ko:
Roll around the side of the area without going in the center. Every rock will come near you, and Crunch will mostly miss you.

When fighting Ro-Ko, aim for the N on Crush's back. Do this three times.

Hint: Defeating Wa Wa:
When you are facing Wa Wa, crunch will shoot things at you. He will fire blue beams that you should jump over. When he fires green things, duck. Hop from one panel to another. When you reach Crunch quickly spin. Watch out -- the panels will sink.

Try to get a head start on each run. Once Crunch jumps back at the beginning, run. When you spin him the next two times, do not stop running.

Hint: Gem locations:
To get the following Gems, jump onto the Skull And Crossbones and find your way to the end.

Red Gem: Crash And Burn.

Hint: Earning gems:
In any level, to earn a gem get all of the boxes. This also boosts your lives and apples.

The only way to get to the colored gem areas is to not die on the level before you get to that area.

Hint: Easy Gems, Relics, and Crystals:
Do not collect everything at once in a level so you can get 100% game completion faster. Instead, use the following little trick to get all powers from the guardians. This is the order you should do it. First, do not get all Boxes and avoid Bonus Platforms to get 25 Crystals to defeat the Masks. Then, if you have defeated Cortex, return for the Gems and collect them before Uka Uka and Cortex. Next, this is the hardest challenge. Use all your effort and special powers and be as a quick as possible. Make sure you use the Freeze Timer Boxes to avoid getting a longer time in time trial mode. Remember all of them in each section of the warp room. You will get a secret warp room and extra levels to find the hidden treasures.

Wait until you get the Crash Dash power to get the Relics. This way, you can move faster.

Hint: Easy Platinum Relic:
To get a Platinum Relic easily, when you get your Sapphire Relic, make your time one second before the limit. When you get your Gold Relic, get the time one second before that. You will now have an easy chance at getting the Platinum Relic because your time limit will only be three seconds before the Sapphire Relic time.

Hint: Easy apples:
If you do well in the Question Mark level of Jungle Rumble, depending on the amount of apples (Wumpa Fruit) the game decides to give, you can get up to 145 to 150 apples.

Hint: Avoid losing lives:
When you die, press Start before the screen turns black then select "Warp Room". You will return to the warp room without losing any lives.

You can go higher on a jump by sliding (Circle) then jumping (X) while still doing the slide.

Hint: Aim at the screen:
After acquiring the bazooka power-up, hold L1 then aim at the screen. You can then be fired at by Crash.

Glitch: Appear in Space Hub:
If it is the only file on the game, and you have not defeated Wa Wa, this should work. After you face Wa Wa repeatedly and lose the game many times, you should appear in the Space Hub. Note: This only works one time.

It is easier to do this glitch if you repeatedly play the Arctic Antics level until you have 99 lives. When you face Wa Wa, die until you have 69 lives. Save the game, reset the system, load the saved game and you should appear in the Space Hub.

Glitch: Gold Rush: Shadow:
On Gold Rush in time trial mode, on the last world of the game if you fall after the last of the four or five pillars, you will stay alive and cast a shadow on the ground that you were trying to get to.

Glitch: Wizards and Lizards: Return to lizard:
You can do this after you have acquired the Double Jump and the Death Tornado Spin. Once the lizard has stopped chasing you for good and the platforms have fallen down, you can go back to the lizard by doing the Double Jump then the Death Tornado Spin. Note: You will die if you go to the lizard.
