Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty
cheats: Actions
See your name in the ending:
When you enter the Plant, Campbell will tell you to look for a
computer in order to use the radar. When you find it, Raiden will
use it and a name entry screen will appear. Enter your own name,
sex, birthday, blood type, and nationality. After that, continue
and complete the game. During the ending sequence Snake will ask
Raiden what is on his neck. Raiden will take it off, revealing
a dog tag with your name on it.
Giovanni Mendoza.
BDUs in the ending:
Before defeating the final Boss, equip the BDUs (enemy uniform),
and you will be wearing them in the ending sequence. Note: You
must have the BDUs on after the final Boss is defeated.
jstemple.
BDU man down:
When in the Core Section of Shell 1 and you have the BDU equipped,
go to where there is a camera. Lay down in its field of view.
When the camera sees you, you will hear "What's going on?
Respond! Communications with the first floor of the Shell 1 Core
have ceased. Carry out an investigation immediately." Soon
after that, the Assault Team will appear and discover you, saying
"Hold it, what are you doing?". If you continue to lay
there they will treat you as any other guard and kick you to "wake
you up". If this happens, your disguise will come off and
they will go into alert mode. If you stand up and stay still,
they will come over, inspect you, then say "Nothing was wrong,
all clear" and leave. If you stand and go away from the place
where you were laying, they will look around saying "Unable
to locate the missing man, everything else is normal." and
leave. It is a good idea to get rid of the guards near the camera
as they will get in the way. Note: This will not work if you have
talked to Ames.
Eric Caster.
Birthday messages:
When logging into the computer in the Plant, enter the current
date as your birthday. A birthday message will appear.
You can find out if it is one of the guard's birthdays in the
game by taking his dog tag. Take out your Digital Camera and press
Triangle. It should say the guards name, and if it happens
to be his birthday, it will say "Happy Birthday" bellow
it.
Bagel The Dog.
Strange location names:
Go to the room before the torture room on Arsenal Gear. Keep walking
in and out (room to hallway) to see alternate titles for your
location, such as "New York 57th Street", "Funabashi
City", and "Ayoma Ni-Chome"
B.T.W.
Quotes from other Metal Gear Solid
games:
To hear Campbell quote from other Metal Gear Solid games,
play the game for five hours straight. After awhile he will also
speak in Japanese.
AdamWalsh247.
Hideo Kojima's statistics:
When you use the first node on the Plant mission, enter your name
as Hideo Kojima to get his stats. Note: This can also be done
with any of the other developer names from Konami.
jstemple
and RoCaWeAr.
Mad Stillman:
When Stillman hides in the pantry, knock on the door about eight
times. He will get frustrated with amusing reactions.
Shiner989.
Stillman's body:
After Stillman is killed in Strut H, his body can be found in
Shell 2 Core, Level B1. When you open a door underwater, a body
will come out. After you meet Emma, on your way back through,
look at the body in first-person view to see that it is Stillman.
AJ.
Mad Otacon:
When you are facing the Harrier jet, use a machine gun or even
a pistol and aim at the Kasatka chopper with Snake. Shoot to make
Otacon shout at you. He will say things such as "We're on
your side" and "Watch where your aiming". Take
note that Snake (Pliskin) will not be that nice if you hit him
-- he will shoot back.
Khally Hakk.
Amused Otacon:
When you are playing as Snake at the beginning of the
game, you must battle Vulcan's daughter Olga out on the deck.
Take a picture of the zipper on her pants after you defeat her.
Otagon will make jokes about it later when you are uploading the
Metal Gear pictures onto the computer.
ryan pearsall.
At the beginning of the game when you are playing as Snake, you
will pass a small room that leads to the entrance of the steam
room. Inside the room there is an Ocelot doll being reflected
onto the wall by a flashlight. Take a picture of the doll with
your camera. Otacon will make a funny comment about it later when
you upload your Metal Gear pictures. He will call you a homosexual.
ryan pearsall.
Identify Ames:
Do not do anything to the patrolling guard. Just do the following
when he is not looking. Ames is a man with black hair and is not
bald at all. His heart will beep with the Directional Mic, so
do not be confused by any other thuds -- just listen for the beep.
nagle10.
Finding Ames:
When you are in the room with all the hostages, use
a book next to the counter with all the plates and apples on it.
Then, shoot one of the plates with your M9 to get the guard to
investigate. He will see the book, then drop down and read it.
While he is reading, he will not need to check in. You can now
find Ames more easily.
jstemple.
Fun with Fatman:
While fighting Fatman, defuse all bombs he places about
the helipad. Next, crawl under the front right bin. Turn to face
the general direction that Fatman will lay when killed. Shoot
him in the head while he is back behind the rack and turn to the
first person immediately right. Wait until Fatman skates by and
shoot him in the leg with your SOCOM. He will trip and fall to
the ground, taking a little bit of damage.
JONATHAN MORRIS.
Get Vamp out of the water:
Use the following trick to get Vamp out if the water
when youbattle in the filtration chamber. Fire the Stinger at
the water when Vamp is swimming. His O2 gauge will go down faster.
When he comes up, he will try to run to you and attack. Fire another
Stinger at the ground near him to take off some life and get him
back in the water.
pohai kaliloa.
Walk underwater:
When swimming underwater, swim as close to the floor
as possible. When you are as close as you can be, press X
to stand on the floor. Use the D-pad to walk around while
underwater.
leviathan.
Weird sayings from Emma:
Knock Emma out or hit her with a M3 dart. She will
begin to say things much as her pet parrot does. She says such
things as "Hal..." and "Venus in Cancer".
leviathan.
Getting Emma through the water:
Before you go underwater, shoot her with a M9 Tranquilizer.
She will be sleeping under water as you take her through. Each
time when you get up spray her with Coolant so she wakes up.
hotbrother1115.
Getting Emma past the bugs:
When getting Emma to the elevator full of bugs, tranquilize
her and drag her to the elevator. After that, spray her face with
Coolant to wake her up.
Keith Chan.
You do not need the Coolant to get Emma past the bugs. Just open
up the elevator and press Square on her to pull her in
it.
Billy H.
Spray the bugs with Coolant. They will hide in the cracks of the
area, well away from her.
brad hamilton.
There is a much better way to get Emma into the elevator without
using the Coolant on the bugs. Shoot her with the M9 Tranquilizer
to knock her out. Then drag her, like you would do to hide a body,
into the elevator.
Rats711.
Dragging Emma to Shell 1 Core:
Instead of holding her, you can also put Emma to sleep.
It will be much easier to drag her around. Note: You cannot push
her through a door while she is sleeping.
pieter moonen.
Exploding Emma:
Strap a C4 to Emma's back and start to swim.
Yankeeslugger232.
Mei Ling:
Mei Ling's name appears in the ending credits, and
she is actually in the game. Call Otacon-save (frequency 140.96)
about seventeen times during the Plant chapter and save your game
each time. You may need to enter and exit into different areas
each time you save. Eventually, he will drop his papers and Mei
Ling will appear and talk to Snake.
Lionheart 30.
Fun with Pliskin:
When you have gotten yours orders from Stillman to
freeze all of the C4's, go directly to the CD connecting bridge
(the door right of the kitchen door). A guard will be knocked
out, thanks to Pliskin hiding in a cardboard box. Note: If you
shoot him, he will run.
Adam Cox.
When you first meet Plisken (after you see Vamp), he will be resting
on the stairs. Take out your M9 and shoot him with it (does not
work with the SOCOM). He will fall asleep. When he does, leave
the room, and do not wake him up. Call him on the Codec (141.80)
to see that he is sleeping. If you keep calling him, he will wake
up, say "Liquid", then fall back asleep.
Snake100192.
Changing room names:
When you first enter Arsenal Gear through the orange
door, go back as soon as you enter. Go back through the door and
repeat this at least five times. Look at the name of the room
you entered. It will change each time and will have some very
odd names.
J.J.
Snake attacks:
When you and Snake are sniping partners protecting
Emma, move your weapon so it points to Strut F. You will see someone
laying down. This is Snake. Although you are not supposed to shoot
him, try it and he will shoot back at you.
nagle10.
When you are fighting Snake with the blade inside Arsenal Gear,
you are not supposed to kill or slice him. Try it and he will
fight back or shoot you.
nagle10.
At the Big Shell, go around and get to the Vamp scene. After Snake
is cut on the arm, he will sit at the bottom of the staircase
in that room. You can point your gun at him and he will respond
by pointing his gun at you and saying, "You think you can
shoot that thing?" If you have your M9 out, shoot him to
put him to sleep. You can shoot him with the SOCOM but you cannot
kill him. If you shoot him with the M9, punch and kick him to
wake him up. After he is up, keep kicking and punching him. He
will eventually shoot you with his M16. To skip all of that just,
shoot him with the SOCOM. To stop him from shooting you, just
put him to sleep again.
Perg.
Resurrecting Snake:
In the Tanker chapter, get to the point where Raiden
meets Snake when he is asleep. Aim a gun at him and he will wake
up and aim his gun at you. If you shoot him, he will die, return
to life, and shoot you.
andrew reckman.
Crouching Snake:
Get in a box in an enemy's path. He will flip the box,
but if you equip something else for the box (Stealth recommended)
and walk away, Snake will be crouch and walk at the same time.
To return to normal, just equip something else.
Matthew John Charles K.
See Snake with FAMAS:
Although you cannot get the FAMAS, you can see Snake
holding it in the Arsenal Gear.
RobertoDizon.
Anger Snake:
When you first encounter Vamp as Raiden, you will run
into Snake look-alike Pliskin. After the intermission sequence,
go down the stairs to where he is taking a nap. Go into first
person view and aim either gun at him. He will suddenly awaken
from his sleep aiming his gun at him. Shoot him with the M9 and
he will doze back off. However, give him a few shots with the
SOCOM and he will really get angry.
Nat Ogden.
Seagull attack:
Go to the roof of Strut A and aim at the flying seagulls.
Try shooting one out of the air. After doing this for a while,
one of the fallen birds will use a "radio" to call for
back-up. The radar will go into warning mode, and if you look
up, there will be a lot of birds flying around. Keep looking up
in first person view, a bird will "drop a bomb" on the
lens.
Paul Krzywicki.
Killing seagulls:
In the Plant mission with Jack/Raiden, go to the roof
after you see Snake going up the elevator. Stand near the rail
and shoot a bird with the M9 Tranquilizer. Punch it and you will
see a burst of blood and feathers where the seagull was located.
Randy Weir.
Go to the E-F connecting bridge. Kill any guards or cameras. Go
to the bridge heading to Shell 1 Core. If you have never been
across this bridge, you will see seagulls perched on the path.
Put as many as you can to sleep. Then, run across the bridge.
The path falls away, taking any seagulls with it. The gulls fall
to their deaths at the bottom of the sea, and you can watch it
all happen.
Stricky.
Bird droppings:
There are bird droppings on the roof of Strut A. If
you walk over it, you will slip and fall.
pezzguy.
Corpse in the locker:
In the first level when Snake says "Raven",
probably referring to the sentry gun, go up (the gun is unmanned)
and check one of the lockers. Choose the correct one and a crew
workers body will fall out of it.
Pizzaman06450.
Bloody screen:
When you are fighting the enemies with Snake near the
end of the game, use the sword and kill someone in first person
view. Blood will splatter on your screen. This also works if you
shoot someone in the face at point blank range.
Cody Cates.
Easter Island head:
Play the game under the hard difficulty setting. After
using the Nikita missile to shutdown the electric floor to get
to the President, an intermission sequence will begin. After it
ends, go to the vent to fire another Nikita. Turn left twice to
see an Easter Island head in front of you, laying on its side.
Isaih1313.
Go to the Strut E parcel room. Get onto the conveyor belt with
Box 5 and you will be transported to the room with the Easter
Island head. To see it, press yourself against the belt and enter
first person view. Look into the niche in between the boxes and
the wall.
daniel hayman.
Go to the Strut D sediment pool. Go opposite to the part where
the stairs are located and look into the "boiler" in
the middle of the water. Take out the scope or Digital Camera
and zoom in to the middle of the "boiler".
daniel hayman.
Go to the computer room in the bottom of the Shell 1 Core (where
you get the Directional Mic) to find an Easter Island head. It
is under one of the computers with the FHM girl in a bikini.
Ewan Hamilton.
Powerful explosion:
With Raiden, set C4s in one area until you hear the
buzzing noise, then set claymore mines on top of them. Run far
enough away and detonate the bomb.
FranksPlc.
Flipping President:
Use the Nitaka missile launcher to free the President.
When you get near him with the missile, he will flip out the way
to dodge it.
DALERUN.
Health recovery:
When you start to bleed there are other ways to recover
health besides using the bandage Lay down on the ground use one
of the following tricks. Hide in the closet to keep out of sight
and recover. Press X to bend down and you can shoot and
recover at the same time.
Onmymind
and TravjRath.
When you are low on health, get an alert mode. Get them to follow
you. Stay far enough away so you can give yourself time to put
on a bandage and hide in either a locker or a bathroom stall.
When the guards enter the room, your heart will start beating.
The faster it beats, the faster your health will be replenished.
talltree0309.
Avoid detection:
This trick works in the Core of the Shell 1. Flatten
yourself against the wall and dress up like an enemy solider (uniform
and gun). The enemies will walk past you.
DSurma3210.
Use the following trick to get past security cameras without grenades
or a gun as Snake. Get a running start along the wall as to be
less obvious to the camera under its blindspot. Then, when directly
under the camera, do your roll/somersault move. If done correctly,
the camera will not see you. Also, if you have a gun, shoot it.
Pyrodudemanguy.
If you have an a silenced USP/SOCOM, you can shoot at pipes. They
are quite common in the game, and, when hit, shoot out steam.
This will paralyze or distract an enemy, depending on their proximity
to the pipe. Fire extinguishers have the same effect. With a silenced
weapon, you can shoot a wall near a guard to make them turn and
look at the wall for a few seconds. If you evade a guard's detection
in hanging mode and they walk past, press Action. Your
character will flip over the railing and knock the guard out with
the impact. Alternately, you can fall on a guard from hanging
mode. If you are out of ammo, unequip your weapon, run at a guard,
and when close, press Crouch. Your character will either
do a somersault or a cartwheel and the impact will knock the guard
out. if all else fails, toss a chaff grenade, run and pop off
all the guards before the radios work again.
Brad Kosel.
Get rid of alert mode:
When you are spotted by a guard and have an alert,
go into another room or out of the area you were in. Your alert
will automatically disappear.
Leslie.
No tracking footprints:
When wet and leaving footprints, switch to the B.D.U.
and then switch back or vice versa.
JHn.
Biometrics:
When trying to get a guard to be scanned in the biometrics
system, tranquilize the patrolling soldier first. Then, take out
his radio to prevent him from calling backup. In order to wake
him up, equip your Coolant and spray his face until is conscious.
Immediately choke him and take him to the biometrics system. Note:
You must have your B.D.U. costume equipped at all times.
Keith Chan
Stopping alarms:
Use the M9 so enemies cannot hear the gun shots. Shoot
the radio transmitter at the back of a soldier. You will see some
sparks coming from it, indicated that it is ruined. When he sees
you, he will try to call for backup but will realize that it is
not working.
Onmymind.
Opening jammed lockers:
Place a C4 in front of jammed locker doors and they
will open.
Magnum.
When you get to a locker that will not open, go in front of it
and keep punching it. It will eventually fall off its hinges.
lmcglynn.
Kiss posters or photos:
Go inside a locker with an FHM poster or Konami Eyes
photos, kneel, and press R1. You will hear Raiden/Snake
kiss the picture.
lee.
Snake gets too excited:
Go to the locker room with the women's posters and
close the door behind you. Press R1 to face the posters
in first person view. While continuing to hold R1, press
Select to call Otacan. Otacon will tell Snake to keep himself
busy another way. Look at Snake's face to see a very funny reaction.
KCrack123,
Dougie, and Ryan Fewsdale.
Snake comments:
When Emma is crossing the oil fence, aim the Directional
Microphone at Snake. He will say some funny things, such as "Do
I need to clear things out with Otacon before I ask her out".
yuna.
Waking guards without coolant:
Put a guard to sleep, drag his body by the legs to
a nearby wall, and sit them down. Enter first person view and
repeatedly press Punch while looking at them in first person
view. This may take awhile depending on the difficulty setting.
He should eventually wake up. You can now take his dog tag. This
can also be used if the guard is stunned or if you are in the
Tanker chapter.
Andre Flores
and Gerald Kosturik.
Getting guards to surrender:
In order to get dog tags from enemies, you have to
hold enemies up and aim at their head or crotch in first person
view. This will make them shake, giving up their tags. Do not
bother trying to get the extra guard's dog tags that appear on
red alert mode. To make sure the guards have dog tags take out
your Thermal Goggles to see them.
EXTERNALDRAGON
and NcklTBONE.
To hold up a soldier, sneak up on them, and when close, aim the
gun at them. Your character will tell them to freeze. You can
get items from them by pointing the gun at their face or crotch.
To get the item or dog tag from a person who says something like
"Are you going to shoot me or what". Pull out the real
pistol (not the tranquilizer) and shoot them in the arm or foot.
Then, once again point at their head and they will give you their
dog tag or items.
Justin.
When holding up a guard that says "Are you going to shoot
me or not?" or "What are you?" take out a SOCOM
and shoot him in the arm. He will become afraid of losing his
life and shake for you, and doing so will be give up his dog tag.
RoCaWeAr
and ellsworths.
Upon obtaining the stealth suit, which you can receive after getting
most of the dog tags under the very easy, easy, and normal difficulty
in the Tanker missions, you can become invisible and hold up an
enemy. Note: This also unlocks the Digital Camera and Bandana,
but just for the Tanker missions. Since the enemy does not see
you, he will remain in the hold up position indefinitely, or at
least until you become visible and are not holding the gun. When
the guard is in hold up position and you are invisible, you can
put the gun away, walk around, choke him, and do just about anything
you want. Be careful not to bump him while invisible, or you will
lose your stealth camouflage and will have to re-arm it -- and
he will be out of the hold up position and will be in alert mode.
Justin.
After getting the Coolant, you can use it to wake up guards. After
tranquilizing a guard, position yourself in front of him. Use
the Coolant to wake him up, then use your M9 or SOCOM to hold
him up aim at his crotch or head to force him to give up his dog
tag. This trick is useful for guards you cannot get near to hold
up.
Wallace Doster.
Wait until an enemy turns around and begins walking away from
your character. Equip the weapon of your choice and follow behind
the enemy. As you near, quickly go into first person mode and
aim at the enemy. At this point you are behind the enemy and your
character will yell "Freeze!" Keep your weapon drawn
(if using the M3 keep Square held while releasing R1),
then hold L1 to run while ready to fire your weapon. You
can run straight through the guard to face him in the front by
turning around quickly. The guard should still be in the "held
up" position if done fairly quickly (and with your gun still
drawn). Proceed with the normal method of shaking him down from
here.
leviathan.
To get items and dog tags from stubborn enemies, use any method
you wish to get the enemy in the "held up" position.
If the enemy refuses to shake at all, you might have to shoot
a limb to prove you are serious. Note: This does not work with
M3, as it will just put the enemy to sleep. Also, shooting between
the legs or to the side of the person also proves you are serious.
If that does not work, knock the enemy out and return with a larger
and more powerful weapon.
leviathan.
After getting dog tags from an enemy, use your scope on them if
you encounter them later. Press Triangle (Action) and the
game will show you the name on the dog tag, letting you know that
you already have that one.
Sparky3860.
Sneak up besides an enemy or in back of him. Press Square
to get him in a head lock hold. Then, move to an area where he
is not near a wall. Press Square a few times so he will
quit moving. Release and run around to the front and aim at his
head. Wait until he gets up, and he will give you his dog tag.
If for some reason he does not, take your gun off and kill him
quickly or knock him out. You can also use this method by keeping
him in a head lock for a long time until he passes out. Then,
just wait for him to wake up.
jon k.
Grab one enemy as if you are going to break his neck, then equip
a non automatic weapon (for example the USP). The enemy will stop
trying to break free of your grip. If there are other enemies
around, they will not shoot unless they have a clear shot. The
moment you release Square the enemy will die unless the
weapon is unequipped.
RALDINE.
If you have an USP or SOCOM with a suppresser, go behind a guard
and shoot his radio, one leg, and his right arm. When you hold
him up, he will not be able to shoot you or call for back up.
Point your weapon at his groin or head and he will shake and drop
it. Another method is to knock them out or put them to sleep,
then shoot them and use the coolant spray. Hold them up when he
wakes up. A third method is to hold him up with a stinger. If
there are more guards, put them all to sleep first.
Weafy.
When your character tells a guard to freeze, he will put up his
hands. Point the gun to his face to get his dog tags. Point your
gun away from his face and once he stops shaking, point it back
up. He should drop another item. If he does not, it indicates
he has no other items. You should only do this two times to get
the item (once for the dog tag and again for the item). This is
a much easier than searching them when they are dead or sleeping.
Peter Xiong.
Use the following steps to easily obtain all dog tags in every
level in every mission. Hold guards up from the back. When they
put their hands up, put down your weapon and knock them out with
a series of punching and kicking moves. While they are down, position
yourself in front of them (you may have to move them). When they
regain consciousness, draw your weapon directly in their face.
They will shake their dog tag out if they have one. This is harder
to achieve in the hard and extreme difficulty levels. The easiest
way to obtain dog tags for these two levels is to get Stealth
first. With Stealth, you can position yourself directly in front
of the enemy without being noticed. While you are in front of
them, draw your weapon on them. At this point they will not give
anything up since they do not see you. You now need to make yourself
visible for them. Once they see you, they will shake their dog
tag loose for you. Once they give it up, tranquilize them to avoid
conflict. Note that if you kill them first, you will not be able
to get their dog tag and you will need to play that level/mission
over again. Also, be sure to always save and load your game in
the same location on the memory card so the dog tags will keep
adding up. The Tanker mission can be completed in about 20 to
60 minutes depending on the difficulty setting.
Dave.
Stopping guards and SWAT teams:
This move is useful with SWAT teams and guards that
are hard to get around. First, take out the SOCOM and aim at a
SWAT team's hand. Fire the SOCOM and make sure you hit the hand.
This will stop them from being able to hold a gun and fire their
weapon. On guards, fire at the hands as you would a SWAT team
member. This will prevent them from holding a radio or gun.
JD Simpson.
Hit guards with locker:
When guards try to beat a locker occupied by you, as
soon as they start to hit the locker, open it up. They will fly
away from being hit.
Nicholas Campbell.
Ammunition from guards:
Kill or put an enemy to sleep, then instead of pressing
Square to hold him, tap Square. He will sometimes
drop something useful.
alex_vandyck.
Scared guards:
When wearing the Stealth Camo, shoot and kill a guard
when no one is looking. Then, pick him up and drag him around
like a ghost to scare away other guards.
Reid20240.
Confused guards:
If you have the Stealth Camo, enter a room where there
are more than one enemy, such as the crew lounge in the Tanker
chapter. Equip the Stealth Camo and hold up one of the guards.
When another guard looks at you, he will walk over and look at
first guard, just standing there. He will punch him and the guard
will fall down, get back up, and go back to his position. If you
do this with any of the heavily armed guards during evasion mode
under the hard or extreme difficulty settings, they will spin
around to shoot you and get confused.
bobo3486.
Knock a guard out by choking him. Set him besides some glass,
then throw a stun grenade next to the guard. The shock wave will
shatter the glass and it will fall all over him. When he wakes
up, a question mark will appear on his head. He will brush himself
off, then call on the radio.
BadboyH20.
Helpless guard:
When you see a guard that is turned around, hold him
up and shoot him in either leg. Next, shoot his radio, then the
arm (the one with the end of the gun, not the part that you shoot
out of). The guard now cannot walk, call for help, or shoot you.
Note: The SOCOM suppresser is recommended.
Hotbrother1115.
Urinating guard:
After you defeat the Harrier and go up the ladder,
cross the first cat walk, then the ledge. On the second cat walk
a guard will say, "I'm going to go in my pants", and
will start urinating.
myles.
When you get to the urinating guard on the Strut L perimeter,
stand in the urine and call the Colonel. The Colonel and Rose
will feel sorry for you and tell you to make sure you takes a
shower when you get back from the mission. Note: The urinating
guard will not appear if you are in Alert mode.
NakedRaiden785.
Guard on morphine:
When playing under the normal or higher difficulty
setting and the attack guards are alerted to your location, start
a fight. Shoot them once or twice without killing them, They will
reach into a side pouch, bite the end off a small tube, and stick
it into their leg. This is morphine. The guards will be able to
fight longer with you, not only because of their skill level,
but also because of the morphine.
BK.
Homosexual guards:
In the Navigational Deck where the Vulcan Raven figure
is located, you will see a locker which has been opened. A man's
body with ''EYEWIRE'' is in the locker. Get caught and hide inside
that locker without any guards seeing you. One guard will see
it, and tell the other Genome soldiers to come to that location,
and they will just stare at it.
daniel hayman.
Instantly knock out guard:
Hit a guard in his groin for an instant knockout.
DMC
and Bader Shaaban.
Knock guard over side of a ledge or rail:
Sneak up behind him. He can see you, but it is easier
if he does not know where you are. Use the Punch(2), Kick
combo (as Solid Snake) or the Punch(2), Kick(2)
combo (as Raiden/Jack).
Drake.
Break guard's neck:
To break someone's neck, put away your gun. Walk up
behind him and press Square. This will put them in the
sleeper hold. Once you have them in the sleeper hold, press Square
repeatedly and this will eventually break their neck.
Pup2K4.
Red legs for guards:
Go up to a guard and throw a grenade at him, or set
a C4 on his back under the hard or extreme difficulty setting.
Run away and detonate the bomb.
FranksPlc.
Shadow Moses diarrhea guard:
At the Strut L Oil Fence, protect Emma until she gets
onto the second pillar-station. Listen to that area with the Directional
Microphone. Emma will get caught by the guard from Metal Gear
Solid and he will talk to her about how she needs to get out.
Eventually, his stomach will start to act up and he will let Emma
go.
Crash Ichimonji.
Fun with Marines:
Normally when you shoot someone in the head with a
tranquilizer dart, they will fall to the ground and sleep. While
the marines are listening to the speech near the beginning of
the game, you can shoot any of them in the head with the tranquilizer
and they will fall asleep standing up.
baeleth.
In the Tanker Mission, when you get to the holds with the Marines,
creep up behind the one of the them. Get as close as you can (without
bumping into them as they will spot you immediately). Then press
Circle(3) to do a punch, kick combo. If you were close
enough, the Marine will fly forward and start a domino effect.
Most of the guards will get knocked down. Note: While the marines
are getting knocked down, the game will run slower until they
all get up. It helps if you equip a cardboard box after you hit
the first person, as no one will notice you when they look away.
Tim K
and Mark W.
When you are playing Snake on the Tanker chapter, get to the final
room with the Metal Gear Ray and the sergeant speaking. Climb
up on the first camera platform beside you. Take out your sleeping
dart gun and shoot the cameraman. Use R1 and aim down at
all the Marines. Fire at them, and they will fall asleep. You
can also go up behind a Marine and press Circle until Snake
kicks them, then quickly select a box and hide inside. Watch as
all the Marines will turn around and try to find you.
D1carri.
Poor Marine:
In the Tanker mission, get to Deck D and knock out
the guard in the mess hall. Then, crawl under the table with the
dead Marines. Call Otacon and you should hear a short conversation
about the dead marines.
Gary Brankin.
Confused Colonel:
When Colonel is making his speech, go to the third
room that contains Metal Gear. Go to the far left wall and go
north. This is where you take the picture of the Marines logo,
but while you are there, deliberately get seen by the Colonel.
Once you hear the alarm sound, take a picture then go west up
against the wall where they cannot see you. The Colonel will say,
"Intruder to the right!, Intruder to the left!, Intruder
in the back!" repeatedly. Eventually he will stop and say,
"If that were to actually happen I would expect you to be
prepared."
Josh Bryant.
Get rid of bodies:
If you need to get rid of a guard but do not want his
body staying around, check if there is high place for you to knock
them off of. Get him in a choke hold and drag them towards the
edge. Let them go and when they get back up, kick them off. You
can also knock them over a railing if it is waist high. This works
well in the Tanker engine room, on the outside of the Tanker,
on the helipad, or any connecting bridge.
Krycek9mm.
Sniper zoom:
The new sniper PSG-1s have a zoom similar to using
the scope. This is useful on the oil fence battle with Vamp/Emma
and helps in hitting mines from long range.

Beyond peeking:
Flatten yourself up to wall where you can peek. If
you want to see more, move the Right Analog-stick while
peeking or without peeking.

Getting bugs off Rations:
If you find a bug on your rations, quickly tap L2
multiple times until it comes off. This may take a while, so be
patient. If you do not get it off it will occasionally eat one
of your rations, and may eventually fall off on its own.

Splattering bugs:
Use a explosive weapon (such as a Stinger or the Grenade
Launcher) and fire it at the bugs in first person view. The dead
bugs will then fly towards you and splatter across your view.

and David Hunt.
Flies:
In the Tanker chapter, go to Deck-A, crew's lounge.
Go all the way to the right and you will see a staircase. Go down
the stairs to find a sleeping guard. If you look closely at the
sleeping guard, you can see that there are flies flying around
him. When you kill the guard, the flies go away. You can also
get the flies to fly around you by first killing the guard, then
dragging him up the stairs and dropping him near the bar. By then
the flies should have started to follow you. The flies stop following
you once you leave Deck-A, crew's lounge.
CdLex.
Parrot messages:
Shoot the parrot in the B2 of Shell One Core and the
round will whip around it like it does with Fortune. If you shoot
it too much, it will imitate a guard calling for help "Enemy
sighted, requesting backup". If there are any guards still
present in the area (alive, not asleep), you will automatically
go to alert mode. If you throw grenades at him, they will never
go off. Listen to the bird's comment about "top of locker"
-- it is important.
Travis Morgan.
Take your Coolant spray and use it on the bird. The bird will
say "This sucks".

a funny conversation with Otacon when you transmit the pictures
of RAY to him.

Centerfold:
When you get to Deck A Crew Lounge, use the M9 tranquilizer
gun to put both guards to sleep. Then, walk behind the glass to
your left. You will see a shelf with magazines. Use your M9 to
aim and shot at the third magazine from the top row. Its a white
magazine that reads "Oason". It will drop to the floor
and it will open up, showing a blurred centerfold picture of a
nude girl. You can keep shooting at all the magazines, but they
will just rip apart -- only some will open up.
Culebra.
Do the centerfold trick before you fight Olga and only knock the
one magazine down. Return after fighting Olga. There will now
be about a dozen other magazines on the floor.

a food room. Go up from the Semtex explosives and there will be
a main shelf in the middle of the room. Go to it and punch and
kick it (there is a lot of food on it). Attract the guard patrolling
the area. He will see the food that is splattered and the game
will now be in evasion mode.

No peeking:
When inside the room with all the hostages, there will
be a younger brunette kneeling with her legs slightly apart in
the top right area. To find her, she will reply that her name
is Jennifer when asked if she is Ames. Try to look up her skirt
in first person view, and she will quickly close her legs.
Agent Delphi
and Kraman27.
To see what you are missing, you need the Digital Camera. Crawl
under the table in front of her and look at her in first person
view. Next, shoot her with a M9 Tranq dart to make her doze off.
Her legs will drift apart as she dozes on. Then, take a picture
of her panties with the camera. Finally, call the Colonel for
a funny conversation.
Edgar Tam
and Kraman27.
To make Rose very mad, take several pictures of Jennifer's panties
with the digital camera. Call the Colonel. Rose will answer and
yell at you furiously. The Colonel will then quietly tell you
not to throw the picture away. Do it again and she will get even
more mad and the Colonel will say he sympathizes with you. Call
Rose to save several times and listen to what she says.

Expose yourself:
When you first enter Arsenal Gear, you are naked, attached
to the torture table in Shadow Moses. You will cover up when released
from the table. Intentionally get discovered by one of the "Arsenal
Tenkus" and run back to the table and do a wall hug maneuver
to it. Raiden will uncover and pretend to be locked to the table
again. You will then be covered by a soda can's straw on the south
window pane. A guard will begin a clearing in the torture room.
Once he is done, he will glance at Raiden and say "I wish
I had that".
