Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty cheats: Glitches

Destroyed magazines:
In the Tanker mission with Snake, go into the ship through the right door. After the intermission sequence where the guard walks back and forth, go into the door to the south that leads into the living area. Shoot the guard with the M9 Tranquilizer, then go in front of the magazine rack behind the couch. Shoot just one of the magazines off the rack. Leave, defeat Olga, then return. . You will notice that all but one or two of the magazines will be shot off the rack.
Randy Weir.

Vamp swims with no oxygen:
When fighting Vamp before getting to Emma, you are able to launch grenades from he grenade launcher into the water when he is swimming to lower his oxygen. This makes him jump out of the water quicker. Try launching two grenades in a row. His oxygen meter will be empty when the grenades explode, but Vamp continues to swim as if he still has some.
Viper.

Shooting Vamp:
During the intermission sequence after the fight with Fortune on strut A, you fire the SOCOM pistol at her. The bullet goes around and strikes Vamp. The sound of the SOCOM pistol being fired is the same regardless if you have the silencer equipped or not. Also, although one shot is heard, two bullets are seen avoiding Fortune.
Proteas135816.

M9 firing like SOCOM:
Before entering the Level 4 door to fight Vamp for the first time, equip the M9 and enter the room. In the intermission sequence (after going into the door) where Raiden will shoot Vamp with the M9. However, it will fire like the SOCOM instead of the tranquilizer rounds.
Colin Shields.

Restock Claymores:
Obtain Raiden's Infinity Wig by collecting dog tags. Equip it and the Claymores. Lay enough Claymores to get you up to sixteen. For example, if you have one Claymore, use the Infinity Wig to lay down fifteen of them. Crawl over the Claymores to pick them up.
Chris Iverson.

Invincible ice bucket:
In the Tanker mission with Snake, go into the ship through the right door. After the intermission sequence where the guard walks back and forth, go into the door to the south that leads into the living area. Shoot the guard with the M9 Tranquilizer, then go in front of the bar. Shoot the ice bucket. It is impossible to shoot it off the counter, as if there was an invisible wall there.
Randy Weir.

Invisible wall:
When you are in the shoot out with the guards in the long hallway before you get in the holds, try to run up to them. There will be an invisible wall that will send you flying backwards. Note: This will not take your life away.
Cool1.

There is an invisible wall that stops you from being able to get close to Fortune when she attacks you. You cannot shoot or punch her, and she cannot die at this point.
Jimmy.

On the Tanker mission, go to Deck A, Crew's Quarters and into the locker room. Equip your M9 and crouch against the sink. Then, knock. You will hear a sound as if a wall is being knocked.
Gary Brankin.

Hostage message:
In the Plant chapter, kill one of the hostages. Later when Otacon contacts you when you and Snake are killing people, he will say that all the hostages are safe.
Shortty47.

Flipped Emma:
Perform the Punch, Punch, Kick, Kick combo on Emma once. She will usually fall to the ground. Quickly stand near or over her and perform the button sequence necessary to flip someone over. This is usually a direction with Square simultaneously. While still on the ground, Raiden will perform the "flipping" motion in mid-air, not actually flipping anyone. As Emma proceeds to stand up she will "magically" be flipped over as if your character were right there doing it at that moment.
leviathan.

Monster Emma:
when you meet Emma, shoot her with an M9. Then shoot her in the face many times while she is asleep. She will look like a monster. Wake her up with the coolant spray. She will get up and all of the M9 bullets will fall off her face.
Aero10Mike.

Emma's broken legs:
When you exit the water in Shell 2, sometimes Emma's legs will be backward.
Matthew John Charles K..

Emma's delayed death:
When in control of Emma, take her to where you fought Vamp. Bring her next to one of the railings. Then, flip over the railing and knock out Emma. Quickly take out your SOCOM and shoot her in the head before she gets up. If you were fast enough, she will not die, but instead try to get up. As soon as she is finished getting up, she will die (five seconds after she was supposed to).
Bocefus.

Fatman still breathing:
When you are fighting Fatman, use only Stun Grenades and your M9 Tranquilizer on him. When you defeat him, he will still bleed and die. After the intermission, Fatman is still breathing even though he "died".
Screwy Drewy.

Square around Raiden's/Jack's head:
When entering the water beside the elevator on the flooded floor of the Shell 2 Core, you can see a square around Raiden's/Jack's head.
flamestrike28.

Raiden's hair color:
Equip a wig on Raiden and walk anywhere where you could see his reflection (for example, Strut A). His reflection will still have white hair, regardless of what color wig you have on.
KingCorvalis.

Two-faced Snake:
In the Arsenal Gear - Ascending Colon where you meet Solid Snake, try to go each side of Snake's side. Do not bother with him looking at you. Look at him in first person view mode (the scope or digital camera recommended). His face looks like a woman's face. Go to the other side and you will see his normal face.
Yukon_Snake.

Absent-minded Snake:
While playing as Raiden, the first time you meet Snake after the intermission sequence with him and Vamp, Snake will fall sleep. Point a gun at him and shoot him a few times. After a couple shots, he will start aiming at you and will keep doing so for a couple of minutes. While he is aiming at you, call him on the Codec. One of the things he will say to you is "Raiden! I'm on your side!" You may need to call him more than once to hear him say that. After that, leave the area and play through the game as usual. When you reach the part after Emma dies and the ninja goes to knock you out, Raiden says "You're changing sides now?" and Snake will reply "Change sides? I don't recall saying I was on yours", when in fact he did actually did say that.
SerratedEdge4.

Snake's leg:
When you start the game, go to the right side of the boat. On the second staircase, scoot against the wall, then bend down. Snake's leg will go through the staircase.
Nile.

Stealth comment:
Once you have the stealth camouflage in the Tanker, start a new game. Watch the opening sequence where Snake jumps onto the Tanker. During the CODEC conversation with Otagon, Snake will say "Stealth camo's busted. Landing impact", when, in fact, it is still functioning.
Chris.

Backwards flag:
In the room with the hostages (B1 level on Shell 1 Core), after the talk with the Colonel you should be at the bottom of the stairs. Go all the way to your left and you will see a small stage with a desk and an American flag. Look at the flag in first person view to that it is on backwards.
Jiffpeanutbutter and PanterACFH951.

Backwards PSG1 ammo text:
On Strut F, go to the room where you get the C4. Crawl into the vent near the lockers read the ammo box. Wait until it spins all the way around. One side will read "PSG1 ammo", and the other side will read "PSG1 omma".
Digiviewcomp.

Confused President:
Wear the BDU into the President's room. He will still say that you have a skull suit on, instead of the BDU.
CaptD2.

Possessed guards:
While wearing the BDU, knock a guard out then wake him with Coolant. Stand right over him as he starts to stand. If you are in the correct position, he will be locked with your character inside of him. He will go into alert mode every few seconds until more guards appear. They will shoot him down, leaving you standing. Note: If the guard moves, you lose the BDU but you are still locked with him. However, the other guards will shoot you down without the BDU.
WaterBoyy51.

Stuck guard:
Note: This trick requires the stun grenade to be equipped. Then, call Otacon until he tells you about the stun grenade. After the Boss fight with Olga in the Tanker chapter, immediately throw a stun grenade. You should hear a guard moaning. Go to the door with a hatch where a guard appears. You should see a knocked out sentry with body armor. You will also see the guard that exits the door, but he will not come out. You will notice that he is stuck inside the door. The guard will come out when you open the door.
Dan Phillip.

Dead guard talking:
On the Shell when you are Raiden, go to the Strut A pump room. Tranquilize the guard that is outside the pump room. Then, take out your SOCOM and kill him. Next, drag him over to the side where the bars are located. Put him as close to the bars as possible. His legs should be hanging off the edge. Throw a stun grenade over there. If done correctly, he will say "ugh" and should fall off.
Clayton Reed.

Mysterious guards:
Note: this trick requires the Stun Grenade. After you defeat Fatman, you will be met by the Cyborg Ninja and given a BDU. Go to the warehouse and pick up your AKS-74U. After that, go to the core of Shell 1. After the elevator camera checks you and opens the door, go to level B2. Kill all the guards on B2. Then, go into the room with the parrot and come out and go to your right (not Raiden's right). Stand near the lockers and throw a Stun Grenade. You should hear a grunt. After that, go back to the elevator and you will notice three armored guards knocked out in front of the elevator.
dusk.

Dead soldiers from nowhere:
Get to the final room of Arsenal Gear with Raiden and Snake. As soon as it starts, put Snake to sleep and run around the room throwing stun grenades. The stun grenades will knock out the enemies. The will disappear, however after the battle at the intermission sequence you will see many soldiers on the ground in pools of blood, even though none of them died.
That One Guy With The Face.

Darts flying from face:
There is a man up in the Heliport. Knock him out with the tranquilizer gun by shooting him in the face while asleep at least six times or more. Then, spray him in the face with the Coolant until he wakes up. When he awakes, hide behind something switch to first person view to watch the darts fly out of his face.
Blindboy99.

Sounds with suppressers:
In the intermission sequence where Raiden is escaping the Shell 1 Core after being discovered by Ocelot, the soldiers' AKs make gunshot sounds even though they have suppressers equipped.
Silverviper491.

When you fight Fortune as Jack, have the SOCOM equipped with a with a suppresser. After Vamp goes into the room Jack will say, "Now!" and fire the SOCOM as if it has no suppresser.
RobertoDizon.

Crouch and walk at the same time:
Get seen while in a box and have the guard flip it over. Just as this happens, unequip the box. Sometimes you will act as if you are in the box even though you are no longer covered by it.
MJCK.

Game malfunction:
Just after meeting Snake in the Ascending Colon of Arsenal Gear, Raiden and Snake enter a room and start to fight several ninjas/guards. About half way through the fight when you think you are doing fine, the game cuts over to a "FISSION MAILED" screen (not a "MISSION FAILED" screen). Even stranger, you can still see yourself playing the game, alive and well, in a small square screen within the "FISSION MAILED" screen. In about ten seconds the game cuts back to normal play. This may happen several times until the battle is over.
Dave.

Deadly kick:
This glitch will result in a guard kills a sleeping solider, instead of kicking him. First, find a room with at least two guards or one guard and a camera. Hold one of the guards up with the M9 or aim from far away (requires good aiming and timing). Shoot him in the leg/foot, so that he does not instantly go to sleep. Then, pull out the SOCOM/USP (suppresser recommended) and shoot the soldier once in each leg. He should fall down crippled and then fall asleep. Get a guard to see him asleep or use the camera to get alert mode and the attack team. When they discover the sleeping guard, they will kick him to wake up, then the sleeping guard will die in his sleep.
SteveSim.

Stupid Raiden event:
When you are in the room with all the hostages, if you knock a solider unconscious, hold one up, or kill one of them, Raiden just stands there and gets shot. When you have stealth on the same thing happens.
SteveSim.

Stupid Snake event:
In the Holds on the Tanker Chapter (the place with all the Marines), you can get caught when you shoot a gun/wait for the speech to finish, even though you could be in stealth or hiding in a place where noone could find or see you.
SteveSim.
