Purchase an SUV. Put the biggest rims possible on it. Next, put the most tire profile on it. Leave the ride height as stock. This will allow you to hit traffic at high speeds and you will not lose any speed.

Hint: Freeway races:
The freeway races are the greater advantage, and at the same time, the greater disadvantage of the game. Hint: Shortcuts:
In a race where the arrows are far away from each other, look for shortcuts. In Tokyo Challenge or Arcade mode, always do the Shinjuku Circuit with a car that has the Agro ability. On about the sixth turn you will see a big stone building on your right and a walkway overhead. There is a place at the graveyard with six roads from the left to right with yellow lights inside. Drive through in a road with a car that drives in just before you. Use Tuner zone and nitro to drive through the car. This works well with buses.

In Arcade or Online mode, you can go through the garage in Tokyo. Drive to the garage door with your front bumper against the door. Accelerate while turning side to side.
