Hint: Easy "S" rank:
Take three of the lowest experience costing escorts and make sure they survive the mission. Just dump them off at a safe location and complete the mission. Having them alive increases your score.

Hint: Easy money:
To get some easy money early to improve your tech and get some serious firepower, play mission A-10 Disruption. All you need to do is defeat the Super Ship. Once that is done, leave the map to get about $70,000 easily. The higher your rank, the more you can make.
