Hint: Look at car in dyno/tuning: When you are tuning your car in the dyno room, start
dynoing the vehicle. When your car is reving, use the Right
Analog-stick to look at your car. Press L2 to zoom
in and L1 to zoom out. Viper Villa.
Hint: Wining an outrun: Once you have found an opponent to outrun with, get
in front of the opponent and get in the lead. Get as far as possible
until the distance meter has reached its limit. If the distance
meter starts to drop, it indicates that the opponent is catching
up. When this happens, do a handbrake skid and turn the car around.
Go back the way that you came from. The opponent will follow you
as you are the one in lead, but he will take time to catch up,
giving you an advantage to win the outrun. maz !!!.
If you are in front of an opponent but cannot seem to lose him,
head toward the center of the city ( the area that has the five
fountains ). Once there, weave through the fountains. Your opponent
will most likely crash into one of the fountains, giving you an
easy win. Note: Practice going through the fountains first before
you attempt an outrun so you do not lose your money. It is easier
to do this in an SUV because it will not reach a high speed before
you reach the fountains. Outlawzwin.
Find an outrun opponent then get right behind him. Draft him or
her so that you can get a full tank of NOS, if desired. Then,
start to spin out your opponent. You can do this by getting directly
next to the car and turning into its back corner. While it is
sideways or backwards, you can hit press Up to start the
outrun. You will have a large head start because your opponent
needs to turn around. You can win in under 15 seconds by doing
this.
This trick requires that most of the city is unlocked. Get your
car and get on the highway that leads around in a oval-like way.
Challenge people on the highway for a much better chance of winning,
since top speeds are better and there are less turns than the
normal roads (so you do not slow down as much). John Hoge.
This trick requires a fast accelerating car. Drive to the airport
where you first start the game, Next, find an opponent to race.
While racing the opponent, make sure you get into the lead then
go onto a little ramp the leads to a road just alongside the airport.
After going down that road, you should be at an intersection where
you can go left or straight. Take a left turn, then go straight
down that road, which should be a parking lot. Once your opponent
tries to catch up to you and gets close to the intersection, he
will go straight instead of turning. This will give you a large
lead and an easy win. TryVol.
This trick requires a fast car. Find someone that you can outrun.
Get on the same road as them. Get a lot of speed and get behind
them. While you are going a lot faster than the opponent, rear
end them. When the cars start to crash (and perhaps do flips),
quickly tap Up to challenge them. Then, press Select
so that your car resets and the other one crashes or does flips.
If you have NOS, you can use it to win faster. It is possible
to win in 7.15 seconds. Guitarrocker3737.
Start race with a full bar of nitrous. Come up from behind your
opponent and draft until the nitrous is full, then do a tailspin
maneuver. Do this by clipping the back bumper of your opponent,
which sends them into the wall or in reverse. They will end up
facing the wrong direction, giving you the advantage. Tim Ford.
Find an opponent and draft behind them until you have full NOS
(for backup, if you have at least a dryshot installed). When it
is full, pull up next to them. Wait until you can challenge them,
then start it. Then, ram your opponent at the rear tire. Keep
pushing and to cause them to wipe out and stop, or crash into
a wall. Then just drive off on a long straight road and use your
saved up NOS. If you do not win it, you will at least have a very
nice lead. GeminiDragon588.
Drive up behind a car that is better than yours and hit it from
the back . Then, challenge it and start to drive away. If the
car is better than yours, it has better handling and will not
take as long to get turned around and chase after you. This will
encourage you to go at higher speeds and use more of your nitrous.
Do not panic if you are going fast and are not very skilled. Just
trust yourself and the car. skater#235.
Use the following trick if you need to win the outrun modes for
the unique parts. There is an easier way than doing it in the
streets of the city. Get onto the highway of the main city (in
whichever direction desired). Fill up your NOS gauge by doing
near misses and avoiding accidents. When it is full and the backup
is full (dark blue and light blue), find an opponent on the highway.
Do not challenge any opponents if they are behind the concrete
barrier that divides the road; only the ones on the side of the
highway that you are driving on. Pull up behind them and position
yourself for the tailspin maneuver by leaning your front against
the opponent's side and back bumper area. Make sure you do not
have a lot of your front and side on his back bumper, as you cannot
spin him out if your too much on him. Look behind you from the
outside view to make sure you are not too much on him (just a
little). Then, accept the challenge and immediately spin him out,
if you are successful, then hit the NOS. If you are not, pound
the NOS anyway. You are still likely to win in about 5 to 15 seconds
unless you crash. Do not go off of the highway. Repeat this process
until you collect enough money and get the star for the unique
item you need. 3Squared.
When doing an outrun, just before you start get on your opponent's
right side with your front wheels in line with his back wheels.
Then, start the outrun. When "Go" appears on the screen,
turn left as sharp as possible, then bring your car under control
and floor the gas to speed off. jjm.
Hint: Original Need For Speed Underground
drift races: Win all Street X races to unlock the drift races
from the original Need For Speed Underground. ChaoticChop228.
Hint: Easy wins: When racing for magazine covers, unique performance
or visual parts, it helps if you have both NOS bottles filled.
This can let you scab that tenth of a second that you have always
missed. It also helps, especially in the more difficult and longer
stages, with small time limits, to immediately activate the GPS
as soon as you have accepted the challenge. Alan Tan.
Tap NOS to go faster and conserve NOS. Always put your
NOS at little more on power than duration when in dyno testing
and tweaking your car. This will make it easier to win races.
Lrfe.
Hint: Easy drag race wins: Instead of using nitrous by holding it down and wasting
it all at once, just keep tapping NOS as fast as you can.
You will gain 1 to 3 mph with every tap, which is actually increases
your speed faster than if you were to hold it down. Also, you
will run out of it about one third as fast. Try this under the
hardest difficulty setting. Swishmaster3470.
In section 3 when you go to a drag race, take off the stability
control. Note: You will be going so fast that you can get totaled.
Yimnys Chocron.
Hint: Easy Street X wins: When you are in Street X, change your car's transmission
to manual and use a low gear through most of the race. It will
help you cut your speed for better turns. RahkshiFighter.
In order to win Street X, you must take the turns wide at first
then sharpen up your turns. This will help you add to your lead,
and most likely you will win. Drew.
Hint: Easier turns in URL races: Notice that before the sharp turns during the URL races,
there are a set of numbers that countdown to 1. Follow those numbers
to perfect your sharp turn into a groove to speed through faster.
Keep accelerating until you reach "1", then slam on
the brakes and turn. Once perfected, this can help you get through
the turns with more speed. shadow_of_zero.
In URL races, the CPU will try to spin you a lot. Whenever your
car slides to an 30 to 60 degree angle, use your NOS and turn.
Rubber Ducky.
Some turns in URL races do not require brakes. Notice that the
angles of some of the turns are kind of rounded. If you have the
speed, you could go right into the wall and make the turn. As
long as you are going about 130 mph and hit these certain corners,
you will only go down to 100 mph or so. You have to experiment
with the turns. Sometimes you will go too fast and flip, and other
times you will fly through the turns going 100 mph while the CPU
cars slow down, giving you some cushion time. Remember, you must
get up against the wall for this trick to work. Jordan OBrien.
In the first few laps, you will most likely be behind someone.
When you are going on a turn, they will probably slow down. This
is where you can turn the tables on the entire race. Do not slow
down. Instead, keep going and use him as a wall to get the inside
of the turn without applying the brake. As a bonus you may also
get him to stop in an attempt to shake you, but this will only
result in getting you a good lead. Note: You must make sure he
does not ram you into the wall. Crash62491.
In the Underground Racing League, when you get to a corner, do
not go in at full speed. If the turn is at 45 degrees or under,
you have a chance of going in and just clipping the outside wall.
However when you start the race, stay in the back and do not try
to get to first place immediately. Make sure you stay fairly close
to the cars in front. When you reach the corner, floor the accelerator
and put in full throttle. If done quick enough, you should see
the cars about to turn the corner. At this point you should just
be close enough to clip the rear left or right bumper. Because
the CPU cars slow down on the corner, you do not necessarily need
to. When you go into it, the car in front will act as a guide
around the corner. Go round the apex of the corner and slowly
release the Analog-stick, and keep on the accelerator out
of the corner to get into third, second, or first place. Hatchstannes.
If your using a very fast car with manual transmission, you do
not need to brake when you get to a 90 degree corner. For example,
if you are in fourth gear and are doing about 200 kph, just shift
down to second gear. This will lower the speed to about 100 kph,
then turn. Note: Tune your suspension so that your car does not
slide easily, which will lower your speed even more unnecessarily.
Austro Lim.
On the airport courses for the URL races, after the long straightaways
or any turn, do not use the brake. Drive along the wall and let
the outside boundary do the turning for you. Jake Coffing.
Going off jumps in URL races: Start driving slow to get in fourth place. Then, drive
up in front of the third, second and first place cars to get extra
points for nitro. You can use it when you are getting close to
the four lights hanging on the bar. You will go off the jump and
see a short intermission sequence of your car going off the jump.
Sean Camilleri.
Hint: URL parts: The best way to tell how many parts there is to a URL
is the number of laps. Three laps indicates three parts of one
URL. Four laps are only two parts, and five or six laps is only
one run, but the CPU is moderately harder to race. UMBJackKrauser.
Hint: Finding hidden shops: Look at road signs around the city. They often have
colored shapes (yellow triangles, etc.) to guide the way to the
shops. Also, look for street-lights casting a colored glow. This
indicates that there is a shop very close. TillDeathComes86.
Hint: Finding more races: If you cannot find any more races on your map, then
you need to find all the hidden shops in the city. After you find
all the shops, you will be asked to be on another DVD cover. Follow
the star to get to the next level. Note: Use the shops map featured
below. Ssmadd32.
If you cannot find any more races on the map, make your visual
rating on your car at least six stars or more. After you are done
with the rating , Rachel will tell you about a photograph to take.
Then after the picture you must do the URL. More races will appear.
You will also unlock level 3 parts if you find the shops. steveb domenec.
Hint: Easy NOS recovery: To get lots of NOS easily, when you are standing still
hold hand brake (R1). Next, hold the gas then hold Left
or Right. You should spin around and create smoke. This
should give you 300 points instantly to recover turbo boost boyjlo.
Get on the highway and drive in reverse. After a few seconds you
should begin racking up points on the right side of your screen.
These points will give you extra NOS. Note: Crashing into traffic
at high speeds will reduce your NOS. noah nun ya
and BASEBALLMOM194.
When you are on the ground, activate hydros and keep flicking
the Left Analog-stickLeft repeatedly to get lots
of points for filling your NOS bar. You can also do about three
donuts, then wait and do another three donuts. EZB218.
To fill your NOS gauge when you have hydraulics, flip any car
or SUV and hold X for about two seconds. Then, press any
button to activate the hydraulics. Immediately, the word "Hydro"
will appear on the right hand side of the screen with a number
underneath. The number should continue to rise and not stop. To
stop doing this, release X and press Select to flip
the car back over, starting with a NOS gauge filled to the overflow
gauge.
Use the following trick to get extra NOS at the beginning of a
race. When the girls are up front waving their hands, tap NOS
to perform a "spray show". This should give you a little
extra NOS. Andy Getty.
If you run out of NOS in free roam mode, press Start and
select "Jump To Garage". As soon as you can, exit garage
mode and you should have full NOS. Note: This only fills up the
first tank. tornj.
Go to any shop. Enter the shop, then leave it. You will have a
full tank of NOS. Biker595.
Get on a road and keep doing 360 degree turns using the handbrake.
This will give you 400 points and will add to your NOS. You can
repeat this another two times. andy hurst.
Stop and press X + Square. Then, move the Left
Analog-stick to either the Left or Right to
get 400 NOS points. LALITO.
By driving your car backwards (without hitting any cars or walls)
you can fully refuel both of your NOS tanks. Nick Gravelle.
If you are going really fast or in slow motion, press X
repeatedly and move the Left Analog-stick Up and Down.
When you come out of slow motion you will have the maximum NOS,
with two full bottles. Patrick M 007.
Enter the freeway and keep driving in reverse until the score
reaches about 3000. Pieter Moonen.
At the beginning of the race when the car is stable on the starting
line, press L1 lightly once. You will find that the NOS
has increased. terminator tifa.
You can recover NOS by doing one of the following things. DoughnutMaster13.
Sprayshow: Purge your nitrous
Traffic Hit: Penalty from hitting traffic.
Lead Lap: Lead a lap in the race.
Clean Section: Make it through an entire race section without
hitting anything.
Clean Lap: Make it through an entire lap without hitting anything.

J Turn: Drive in reverse and swing the car around to drive away
forwards.
Burnout: Spin the tires.
Leap Frog: Jump your car over a traffic accident.
Hydro Bounce: Bounce your car using level 3 hydraulics.
Hint: NOS purge and hydraulic use while
driving: Go to any shop. Drive under the entrance projector
and bring up all sides of car or bounce any desired side. Then,
purge your NOS and while still holding NOS, press Up
to enter the shop. When it shows your car entering the shop, you
will be purging and bouncing while driving. aphillips1.
Hint: Easy money: Collecting the little information logos around the
city gives you money. You will receive $25 for each one. SidewayzS15.
As soon as you start the game, ignore Rachel's request to go to
the car lot. Instead, try to collect as many information icons
as possible. This will give you that little extra money to start
modding your car, and will save time as you do not have to look
for them in your initially slow car. Also, enter the two races
shown on your GPS (circuit and sprint races). Going in these two
races will give you at least 500 points in the bank. You should
receive a message to get to the car lot now. Do so, and continue
playing the game. Alan Tan.
Listen to the other racers that periodically talk to you. They
will say a general location in the city where you can find hidden
races not shown on the map that are worth $850 instead of the
usual $300. lazybydesign.
In the career mode menu, go to the world map. Select any race
that has not been completed in any stage. Once the race has started,
pause game play and restart. After you have won the race, a screen
will appear showing you how many reputation points and how much
bank you have won. You will then go to the menu that asks if you
want to return to explore mode, restart, etc. When this appears
choose "Return To Main Menu". You do not have to save
the game. Then, just go back into the career menu and select the
"World Map" option again. Choose another race that has
not been completed and start it. If done correctly, all of the
races in the world map will be against three Toyota Corollas or
a mixture of Hummers, Escalades and Navigators. If you restart
these races, you will always get money if you win. VIEWMASTER.
When you start with Rachel's car, do not take it back immediately.
Instead, do some outruns and races to get money. You will then
have a boost of money when you get your own car. Arthur Valenzuela.
In career mode, eventually you will get sponsored and there will
be purple crosses on the map. If you go to them, they are usually
a sponsored circuit race. If you win them, you will get $900.
psychos revenge.
Enter career mode and go down to the Burger King and Best Buy
area. Drive around and look for a stone wall and alley by the
town shops. Go into the alley and turn sharply to the right. There
will be a parking lot where an opponent will be sitting. He will
not be appear on your navigation map, nor will you. You can challenge
this opponent to an easy outrun. He will always drive towards
the stadium. After you beat him, return to the parking lot where
two red info messages will appear. Get them for $25 each. After
you collect them, go into a garage, shop, etc., and save the game.
Then, go back to the parking lot. Five green money bags will be
there. Collect them, jump to the garage (on the main menu screen)
and return for five more. This will get you money much easier
than racing.
You can earn big money in stage 5. Go to garage in any stage of
career mode and go to the world map. You can participate in races
from previous stages. If you race one, pause game play and restart
the race. You will get a bigger bank than if you had waited until
you were done with all the stages (up to $31,00 in stage 5). Jeremy Huston.
Once you have completed the game and are taking a long time to
get money, go to your garage and access the world map. Find events
that you have not completed. The races that are not completed
may have money waiting once you win the race. HoneeyBeee26.
Use the following trick to get more money for winning a race.
Watch for races that are not marked on the map. They give you
more money for winning than a regular race. SilverBullet8000.
Hint: Taking a nice photo shoot: Once you are in the photo shoot area, press Circle,
hold your hand brake (R1), then rev the engine and press
either Left or Right. The car should do donuts.
While it is doing this, take the photo. This will give a smoky
look on your wheels in the picture. maz !!!.
Hint: Drift mode: In drift mode, set your car up using the following
this basic structure. Tune the ECU to have as much torque as you
can get in the early gears. Make all of the suspension settings
as hard as possible to eliminate shock travel. This will help
get the back end out. Turn the tire grip to weak. Also, make the
cars acceleration as quick as possible. For the toe settings,
lower it all the way. Make the aero settings as weak as possible.
Set the brake bias towards rear. By doing this, you will greatly
increase your score, especially on the downhill. On the straight-aways
you can do Choku-Doris (go from side to side) to rack up big points.
You can then link them to power over-steer drifts, which is when
you will use the torque and acceleration to lose traction in the
back tires, then use carefully timed throttle control to get around
the corner as sideways as possible. This will help your drifts
scores get as high as possible. Throttle control is very important
-- do not get discouraged if you spin out a lot. Note: This has
not been attempted on FF or AWD cars. FF and AWD cars will most
likely have a softer suspension setting but everything else would
probably remain the same. FF and AWD cars also need the hand brake
to initiate drifts more than a FR car would. SidewayzS15.
Hint: Easy style points: Driving in reverse will give you style points. The
longer you drive in reverse, the more points you will receive.
SidewayzS15.
To do this, you will need at least level 1 hydraulics. Drive up
against a wall and activate your hydraulics. Then, press the gas
and stay up against the wall. You may need to turn sometimes to
keep it straight. You should start to get points on the right
side of your screen. Justin Moore.
Get a set of hydraulics (level 2 recommended). Come to a complete
stop then hold the hand brake. Keep on pressing Left Analog-stickLeft and Right or Up and Down and
your points should keep on increasing. Scoobydoo22xx.
Hint: Easy drift points: Some of the downhill drift races have houses with looping
drive ways that you can drive in. Drifting in these driveways
gets a lot more points than on the street because you are so far
off the road and are not hitting a wall. ben sullivan.
Go into Quick Race mode and select the Subaru Impreza with all
Extreme or Level 3 performance parts. You may style the visual
as desired, Then, choose Drift Track 6 and 10 laps with easy opponents.
Drive through the middle of the track. When you are just before
a corner, press the handbrake. Release it after you have slightly
slid. Your car will soon almost spin and will drift through easily.
Continue through the rest of the track by swerving on the straights
and using the handbrake properly on the corners. You can get about
50,000 to 500,000 drift points at the end of the race. Luke C.
Hint: Easy hang time points: There are two ways to get hang time points. The first
is to jump off a hill or go up. The second uses hydraulics. To
do this, you must first put your car against a wall. Then, start
flipping the hydraulics until you jump. As soon as you jump up,
immediately accelerate and use your nitrous. If done correctly,
it should say "hang time" and give you some points.
Unfortunately, you will not get points for the hydro jump. Marisela Berber.
Hint: Final race: The final race is against Caleb (the man that tells
Nikki to win, then she loses and joins your team) on a 4.5 mile
track and 5 laps. However, he only gets up to about 130 mph.
Nascarforever20.
Hint: Get bank for races: There are five stages, and as you complete each of
them you can go back and repeat the races again. You may even
find that there are some races you missed. These are the ones
that you want to race. When you go to these, you are not supposed
to get anything for them but you can change that. To access these
races, go to your garage, then your world map, and select a race.
When the race begins, pause game play and restart the race. Notice
that there is an option to return to world map, however after
you restart it will not be there. You can now race and get bank
for it. mikeynmandie420.
Hint: Hydraulics: After you buy level 1, 2, or 3 hydraulics, come to
a complete stop and hold R1. Use the Left-Analog stick
to move up, down, left, or right. The longer you move back and
forth, the more points you will get. A48JimmyJFan.
To activate your hydraulics, you hold the gas, the brake, and
the hand brake. While holding those down, move the Analog-stick
in the direction which you want the car to move. xsusax.
Hint: Jumping: Install hydraulics level 2. Kiss the wall, then use
your hydraulics (move the Analog-stick Up and Down
quickly). Sooner or later, the car will jump, even making flips
and 360s. Luis Martinez.
Hint: Rear wheel drive wheelie: This trick requires a real wheel drive car with level
3 hydraulics. Start with your car in neutral. Double tap then
hold the R1 to engage the hydraulics. Hold Left Analog-stick
Up to begin bouncing the front end of the car. In mid-bounce,
release R1, but keep holding the Left Analog-stick Up.
The car will keep bouncing. Press the Right Analog-stickForward to rev up the engine, then shift into first gear,
while still holding Forward on both of the Analog-sticks.
Your next hydraulic bounce will be delayed in the air while the
car does a rolling burnout, causing your car to do a wheelie.
This is great for showing off for the cover shoots of magazines.
GokuRen.
This trick requires level 3 hydraulics. Tap X(2), then
hold X. Press Left Analog-stick Forward while still
holding X. Release X while holding Left Analog-stick
Forward. Release the Left Analog-stick and the car
should still be bouncing on its front wheels. If so, hold the
R1 to accelerate and the car should pop a wheelie for about
10 to 15 feet.
Hint: Lift tire off ground: To get a left rear tire off the ground, go to "Customize
Car" and put hydraulics on the Pontiac GTO. Go to free ride
mode and put the rear of the car off the ground with the hydraulics.
Then, push the gas and hit the brakes. The left rear of the car
will comes off the ground. Note: You must have the level 2 brakes.
Pete Dennis.
Get any car with level 2 or 3 hydraulics. Lift any side and the
front. Start doing donuts in the opposite direction. For example,
if the left side tires are lifted, then do an donut to the right,
and vice versa. You should see the left or right rear tire lift
off the ground. It will be like that for the entire time that
you are doing the donut. legoman786.
Hint: Get car on either side of the wheels:
This trick requires all of the level 2 upgrades, and
hydraulics upgrade level 2. Get the hydraulics to either side
of the car, and only that one side. Then, do a donut to the right
if the left side of the car is lifted and vice versa. This only
happens for a moment. John Hoge.
Hint: Catwalk: To catwalk a car, you must have stage three hydraulics
and have stage 3 performance parts. Try using a Mazda RX-8 or
a Ford Mustang. To start your catwalk, bounce the front of your
car then release the emergency brake but continue to hold Forward.
Then hit the gas at the top of the bounce. You car should catwalk.

Hint: Two wheel donut: Use an RX-7 with level 3 hydraulics. Put the right
side up all the way, but keep the left side down. Get the left
side bouncing. Then, steer left the entire time. At first you
need to get the speed in the turn up to 20 mph for about three
seconds. When on two wheels, keep it at 15 mph to stay in a nice
donut on two wheels. It can also be done the other way-- just
put the left up instead of the right. Fil.
Hint: Front end donut: Install level 3 hydraulics and bounce the back end
of your car. Then, begin to do a donut. After you do about three
donuts you will start to do them on your front two tires. SHANE.

unlock the unique part, you will have to go to a star on the map
first. The game will tell you to go to a certain shop, depending
on what the unique is. The first one is a unique hood. You must

setting. You should now have a car that can beat Celicas and Skylines,
and will take off the line faster. RacerARB99.
After unlocking all level three performance parts, get a Nissan
240SX and put all of the performance parts on it. If you go online
with this car (with performance parts on the car) and get mostly
perfect shifts during a drag, you should be able to beat all other
car (excluding other 240SX's). If you want to go even faster,
you will have to edit the settings of your car on the dyno run.
John Kahl.
To get a fast Nissan Skyline that goes up to 227 to -228 on the
airport freeway drag race, install all performance parts except
for the six speed transmission. If you install the six speed transmission,
you will get better acceleration but less top speed. SK84LIFE.
The fastest car in the game is the Acura Rsx with level three

then with the next, also make that the highest. Then, do the same
to the rest. However, you cannot do it twice. Go to turbo and
do the same to turbo that you did to the ECU. Finally, go to nitrous
and set it at its maximum. Your car will be unstoppable as long
as you start with a perfect shift and do the same with the rest.
Do the dyno test again. You should see much improvement. dragonmaster@earthlink.net.
The best choices for your career car lineup are the Mustang, Skyline,
Celica, RX-7, and Supra. Cng436.
For the Drag or Straight Sprint course, use the Pontiac GTO. For
Drift, Street X, Tight Cornered circuit, Sprint, and the URL,
use the Mazda Miata MX-5. Use tuning adjustments (level 3 upgrades)
for circuit, sprint and drag. ECU: High as possible at 5, 6, 7,
8, 9 revs; Turbo: High as possible at 7, 8, 9 revs; Nitrous: 3-4
seconds; Suspension: Low as possible (ride height) and everything
else high as possible; Tires: High grip on both, break balance
at the middle; Transmission: Small tracks, tight corners: Full

The best drift car is the Toyota Corolla (AE86 Trueno). If you
want to make it look like the Initial D AE86, paint it
white, then put on stock carbon fiber bodykits. To make it the
best drifter in the game, use level 3 ECU, transmission, suspension,
brakes, and turbo. densotsi.
The best car to start with is the Honda Civic. Once it starts
getting difficult to win races with that car, use the Hyundai
Tiburon. You can use it for the rest of the game. It is the best
way to win because your car will always be good enough to max
out your reputation points on each race. STRIKER.
The best cars in this game are Nissan Skyine and Ford Mustang.
If you use the correct visual and performance parts they will
be the ultimate exotic cars. Make sure the car has the level 3
performance upgrades. For the Skyline, take the visual upgrades
but do not install the last parts. Check to see if it is good
for the car. Rado Borisov.
The fastest car is the Nissan 240SX. Install all level 3 upgrades
and uniques, then tune out the ECU, turbo, suspension, and rpm
shift points. It will go from 0 to 60 in .87 seconds if it is

The best car to drift in Free Run mode is the Mustang on all performance
parts. Sometimes it will spin out, but only a few attempts would
be good. XxphAntOm93xX.
Hint: Carbon fiber the entire car: Carbon your body kit, then put a wide body kit on it.
The entire wide body will be carbon fiber. This will also give
you a wider wheel base and should result in a lighter car. Dusten Hall.
Hint: Get to top speed faster: To get to your top speed faster, go into your garage
then go to "Tune up/Dyno". After that, go to "Circuit"
and select the ECU. Make levels 3, 4, and 5 as low as possible;
with 3 the lowest. Do a dyno run and look at your speed. Compare
this to the first time you did it. It should increase a lot, helping
in all your races. steveb domenec.
Hint: Jump off a car : To jump off a car's hood, you must first jump off an
uphill road the other way that the car is traveling. Use your
NOS, get some air, and when the car approaches, get on its hood,
off its windshield, then into the air. Marybenephil.
Hint: Pimpmobile: Take a Nissan Skyline, Ford Mustang or anything else
with the same body shape. Put on any desired body parts, apart
from "CF" items. Then, set everything that can have
its color changed to a light gold. Leave it like that with no
vinyls or decals and cruise the city. Pharaoh333.
Hint: Start a cruise: To start a cruise, find an Outrun opponent on the highway.
Do not start the Outrun. Instead, just drive along with him or
her and stay on the same road. After about two or three minutes,
another car will join you. Eventually you will end up cruising
with four cars. You must go the same way as the other drivers,
as they will not follow you due to the CPU's AI. Hatchstannes.
Glitch: Split hoods: When you unlock the split hood visual upgrade for your
car. go to the shop where you buy them from. When in the shop,
select "Split Hood"s and then look at them all by using
Square. Go to the second to last one and press Square.
Once it has opened, go to the bottom one and press Square.
As soon as you see it start to open, go to either one of the ones
that open a different way (the two after stock, preferably the
second one). You will see the hood open in two directions towards
the car and away from the car at the same time. Note: This can
also be done the other way (replace the two bottom ones with the
top ones and vice versa. Also, when you take a photo of your car
it will not open glitched. killa.
In the "Customization" menu, go to "Car Specialists".
Go to "Inverse Opening Hoods". Press Square to
preview hood opening. Preview a vertical opening hood and at the
instant before the hood opens, go to a horizontal hood. If done
correctly the horizontal hood should open vertically. Note: this
trick also works vice-versa. Krys42091.
This glitch only works after you unlocked Carbon Split hoods.
Go to "Split Hoods" in the Specialties shop. Go to the
last painted hood. Go down quickly to the first carbon hood. The
hood's name should remain the same. This also works in reverse.
Also, take a split hood that opens horizontally (for example,
Gato) and go up to a vertically-opening hood (for example, Cobra)
while hitting Square to open it at the same time. The hood
should glitch and open the wrong way. Like the last glitch, this
works in reverse. Elephanttunes.

city has their shops spread out and it will be extremely difficult
to do. aphillips1.
Glitch: Wrongly unique part name: When you complete the required amount of wins in outrun
in level 2 to unlock the unique hoods, it gives you a list of
three parts and their carbon-fiber counterparts. When using a
Honda Civic, you will get the Speedline, Factor X, and Trap hoods.
For their carbon fiber counterparts, there will be Speedline,
Factor X and another Factor X. The hoods are the correct counterparts
but the name will be wrong.
GokuRen.
Glitch: Floating cans: When you are on the highway in either career or free
run mode, go up to the yellow garbage cans that are filled with
water at about 5 mph at the max. Hit them slowly so that the water
flies out of them. Then, when you try to push them, it will seem
difficult. You will start to see them slowly climbing up the front
end of your car. Do not go to fast or you will have to get them
on your car again. When you want them to stop in the air, just
stop your car and drive backwards. They will stay in the air.
If you make the cans go on top of your car and then drive backwards,

On the road that the Burger king is on, go about 310 km an hour
into a wall. You should drive straight through it. Your car will
respawn back on the road. Jacin Tattersall.
Glitch: Drive through the street signs:
This trick is extremely difficult to do and requires
perfect timing. While on the highway, drive at a fast speed (130
mph). As you drive, look for a sign and at the same time make
sure there is a car under it. Crash into the car and you may fly
up, going through the sign. This may require a lot of attempts.
Joseph Lazaro.
Glitch: Car drives itself: Come to a complete stop. Then, press X + R1
+ R3, then press Right Analog-stick Up very fast.
This may require a few attempts. If done correctly, the car will
accelerate by itself. To stop this, press X again. Racerch89.
Glitch: Jump in the air with hydraulics:
Run your car into any wall and make sure your front
bumper is touching it. Use your hydraulics (level 2). When you
do this, do not move the Analog-stick straight vertical
or horizontal. Move it diagonally and you will jump ten to fifteen
feet in the air. Dean Rickels
and Dylan.
Get hydraulics on your car; the higher level the better. Drive
straight into a building, then activate your hydraulics. Keep
activating them at a high rate of speed. If done correctly, you
will be shot up into the air. griffin sumrok.
Glitch: Hydraulic points: Land on the roof of your car during an accident. When
it enters slow motion, activate your hydraulics and watch the
points rack up. It is possible to get 2,000 points by doing this.

Glitch: See headlights of opposing cars:
When you are in any race mode, go across a little hill
on the road. Make sure that another tuned car is on the other
side. Look back and you should be able to see the other cars'
headlights. Viper Villa.
Glitch: Turbo: Note: This may only work in online and customization
modes. First, do a dyno run on your car. Remember the hp and torque
that your car currently has. Then, select the setting you wish
to do this to and go to your ECU chip. Set the last tree bars
(located all the way to the right) all the way up. Then, try to
set the first two bars (located all the way to the left) equally
in the middle. Next, go over to your Turbo settings and set the
last four bars (located all the way to the right) all the way
up. Then, for the rest of the bars that were not previously changed,
set them down one time each. Do a dyno run and your hp and torque
should rise significantly. You can still increase your hp even
more by doing the following. Go to turbo and put all bars down
one time in order from greatest to least, except the last four
bars to the right. Go to dyno and your hp should have risen every
time this has been done correctly. italianboi1390.
Go to you ECU chip and set the last three bars (located all the
way to the right) all the way up. Then, go to your turbo settings
and set the last three bars (located all the way to the right)
all the way up. Next, set all the other bars down one time in
order from greatest to least (note this may need to be done more
than once). Do a dyno run and your hp will increase. italianboi1390.
Have level 3 Turbo and go to dyno. Go to either circuit, drag,
etc. Go to "Tune Settings" and go to "Turbo".
Default your turbo. There are many ways to do this. You can set
your last three bars all the way up, or the last four bars all
the way up. For the ones you did not move, set them down once
in order from greatest to least. For example, if you set the last
three bars up, then set bar 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 down once in that
order. If you did the four bars all the way up, then set bar 5,
4, 3, 2, 1 down once in that order. Then, dyno run it. You should
see an increase in hp and torque. Then, go back to "Turbo"
and set the bars 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 or 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 down once again
in that order. Dyno run it. Keep doing this process until you
no longer see an increase in hp and torque. If you think the hp
and torque have stopped going up when you dyno it, continue doing
the process four or five more times to make sure you finished
the glitch. The may require up to two hours for some cars to finish.
ZERO6187.
Glitch: Gold ECU bar: Make sure you have access to all level 3 parts. Take
any car and give it all level 3 parts except for the ECU. For
the ECU, give it level 1 parts. If it currently has a level 3
ECU, downgrade it to the level 1 ECU. Then, go to "Dyno".
Select any category, circuit, drag, etc. Go to "Tune Settings",
and go to "ECU" and default it. Go to the second bar
and set it down once, then dyno run it. Go back to "ECU"
and go to the first bar. Set it all the way down and do not touch
anything else. Get out of the dyno and save it. Next, install
the level 3 ECU. Go to dyno again. Go to where ever you customized
your ECU (circuit, drag etc.). You should see a gold bar in the
first bar of the ECU. ZERO6187.
Glitch: SUV race in the ocean: On stage five, select an SUV. There should be three
SUV races appearing on the map. Select one of them and press Left
Analog-stick Left. There should be a race out in the middle
of the ocean. Brenden Maxwell.
Glitch: Leave level boundary: At Bellavista in Circuit mode, do not try to complete
the race. Instead, drive in reverse until you are at the beginning
of the red wall. Drive up alongside the wall going 15 mph or slower
using the Right Analog-stick. Do not turn until you get
to the yellow pole at the end. This may require a few attempts.
Note: Use 10 laps to help. Also, you must use either multi-player
or online play. kinman4.
