Shinobi
Bonuses:
Collect the gold Oboro Clan Coins during game play
to unlock bonus options in the extras menu, including level select
and movies.
Play as Moritsune:
Collect 30 Oboro Clan Coins during game play. Moritsune
is Hotsuma's brother, and is stronger and faster. However, the
Akujiki sword will drain him more.
Play as Joe Musashi:
Collect 40 Oboro Clan Coins during game play. Joe's
sword damage does less than when playing as Hotsuma, however his
shurikens are unlimited in number, do more damage, but do not
stun. Also, since he does not use the Akujiki sword, his energy
does not drain constantly.
VR stage:
Collect 50 Oboro Clan Coins during game play.
Hard difficulty setting:
Successfully complete the game under the normal difficulty
setting.
Super difficulty setting:
Successfully complete the game under the hard difficulty
setting.
Hint: Defeating Boss 1B:
Stand on the ledge of the building you are fighting
him on, and keep watching the Boss. When he gets close enough
and performs his dash attack on you, jump. He will fall off the
ledge, lose a decent amount of life, and you will not get hurt.
When he summons Ninjas to help him, wait for him to attack you.
Jump, and let him fall off. Kill his Ninjas quickly, and return
to your post on the ledge. Note that he can not die by falling;
when his life is almost diminished, you will have to run in and
kill him yourself. If done correctly, you will have defeated him
without taking a single hit.
Rai Delfene.
Stand on the edge of the building. When he rushes you with his
sword, jump up and he will fall off and lose a nice amount of
life. Do this two times and he will summon Ninjas to help him.
Lock on to them by pressing R1 and defeat them quickly.
Then, return to your post at the edge of the building and repeat.
When his life gets down to the point where falling off will not
hurt him, wait until he gets next to you then use your ninja magic
(Fire) to defeat him.
Burning3307.
Hint: Defeating Boss 3A:
You can either defeat the five or six dogs then attack
him with the glowing Akujiki sword, or just run past the dogs
and hit him from the side. You can hit him about three times before
he retreats into his take-out box. Hitting him in the side causes
more damage than hitting him from the front. He recovers after
he returns from hiding.

Defeat all normal enemies with Akujiki, and conserve Kunais and
Makimono until the Boss. Once you begin the fight with the Boss,
repeatedly hit him with your Kunais until you have used one set
of them. Then, if he is still paralyzed, blast him with your Ka'en
Makimono. If done correctly, doing this two to three times will
result in his defeat.
SpiderMonkey1353.
Hint: Defeating Boss 3B:
This is the spider boss, by far the easiest. Dodge
its attacks and wait patiently for its little hench-spiders to
pop out. Quickly dispatch all four and head for the Boss. It is
absolutely necessary that Akujiki is glowing red. Jump up at the
Boss and slash at the weak spot on its back. If done correctly,
you should go into a tate in mid air, and all five enemies will
die.
Jack Coleman.
Use two of the three Makimonos you should have obtained in the
level earlier. Wait until eight of his minions appear and kill
only seven of them. Your sword should be red by now. Jump up on
the wall and get close enough to jump off and slash his abdomen.
Repeat this until he is weak enough to use the last Makimono.
Use it, and he will be defeated.
Ssj4brolly34.
Hint: Defeating Bosses 3A through 8B:
Wait until all of the henchmen appear (about eight
spheres should appear at the top right of the screen). Then, kill
all of them as if you were going for a Tate. Akujiki should turn
bright red after you kill seven of the henchmen. The difficult
part is getting the Boss to stay still after your sword turns
red. This may take a few attempts, but you will get a huge Boss
bonus for killing them with one hit.
Jake Leota.
Hint: Defeating Boss 4B:
To defeat this Benisuzme (the giant flying moth), you
must have one to three Makimonos. You should pick those up while
on stage 4B (where you will meet the Boss). When you first fight
Benisuzume, switch your Ninjutsu (ninja magic) over to Kamaitachi
(the razor blade attack). You will be able to use Kamaitachi six
times per Makimono. Lock on Benisuzume and press L2 to
hurl the attack at her. Once she is hit, quickly jump from the
middle platform to the wall. Chase after her on the walls, repeating
the lock-on procedure. Once you run out of Kamaitachi, jump back
to the center platform and wait for Benisuzume to summon her flying
moth minions. Kill her minions until Akujiki glows purple. Jump
on the walls again, run to Benisuzume, and slash her. This will
take out more damage than a regular sword swipe to the head. Note:
Always refill your Slash gauge and watch your health. This procedure
will take awhile. Also, Kaven the exploding flame attack (which
is another Ninjutsu attack) has no effect on this flying demon.
Holy Soldier.
Hint: Defeating Boss 6B:
If you can wait until the Boss lets out the seven little
heads, kill them to get a full powered Akujiki. Then, just slash
the Boss once and he will die.
Alexx Creig.
Hint: Defeating the last Boss:
Attack the crows (the things which shoot out fireballs).
Wait until you have about eight crows at once. When you defeat
the crows, you should have a pink waves around it. Attack him
when you reach that level. Any other color will result in no effect.
Keep doing this and you should defeat him.
HotsumaC2Z3C4.
Hint: Defeating Bosses:
A rather easy way to defeat any Boss in the game is
to wait until seven or more of their helpers have been summoned.
Basically, when you see eight or more of those orbs at the top
right hand side of the screen, perform Tate and any Boss in the
game will die. Note: You will not get seven or more minions to
spawn at certain Bosses, such as the two helicopters and the giant
spider at 3B.
Falconfire.
Hint: Hotsuma's special attack:
When Akujiki awakens (level 2), target any enemy with
L1. Then, attack regularly. After you slash, hold Attack
until Akujiki glows red. Release Attack to do the move.
The longer you hold it, the more power it has. But be careful;
as doing this move takes Yen. The longer you hold, the more Yen
it absorbs from you. Note: If you have no or very little Yen,
you cannot do the move.
davis thornton L.
Hint: Hotsuma's spinning attack:
When Hotsuma gets low to the ground and spins his sword,
it can take out several enemies at once. This is a great skill
to use during tate. To use the attack, aim at an enemy (L1),
hold Forward, and press Attack several times. Another
skill, the stun kick, uses the same buttons. Instead of pressing
forward though, press Away.
Hint: Level 1B: Hidden message:
When you start fighting the Boss in this level, you
will see a big sign with lighted letters that read "SKILL
UP". When you start fighting the Boss, look at the sign again.
The "S" and "P" will burn out and fall off,
and the sign will say "KILL U".
Jeff Rinchiuso.
Hint: Level 2B: Secret area:
When you start the level, there will be a building
to the left of you. Go next to it, then do a double jump and a
speed dash over it. In there are two Hellspawn and two small "birdhouses"
with something in each.
jill-hansen.
Hint: Level 8B: Avoiding fights:
You can avoid some of the fights by throwing Shuriken
at the stone switches (Kekkai) while standing outside of the rooms.
By doing this, the enemies inside in the room will not appear.
justin fiddler.
Hint: Slice more than one opponent:
Get a group of enemies around you. If you are at the
correct angle, you can slice all of them in the group.
Jjames4670.
Glitch: Extreme damage to Moth Boss:
When the Moth Boss is spinning to do the multi-fireball
attack, use the scroll-fire magic. It will do an incredible amount
of damage.
