Trainer

A trainer is an executable program written by a third party that runs at the same time as a PC game, and allows you to access features or cheats that are normally not available. The trainer works by altering memory locations while you are playing the game. It is not supported by the game's developer or GameWinners.com. As with any executable program you install, take basic precautions such as running a virus checker and making sure you can re-install your original game if needed.

Note: A very small number of quickly written trainers were made using a utility called "Trainer Maker Kit". Trainers made this way will install a file called H@TKEYS.DLL that may be identified as a keylogger by antivirus or antispyware programs. The "Trainer Maker Kit" uses that .DLL as a hotkey interpreter and not as a keylogger. However, some gamers may feel more comfortable not allowing such a file to be installed on their systems, and should allow their antivirus or antispyware programs to delete that trainer, and use another trainer that does not need H@TKEYS.DLL to function.

Step 1: Click here to download the file to a temporary folder on your PC. Note: Do not use a download accelerator or the file will be blocked with a username and password prompt. This is a compressed archive containing various files, including specific instructions on how to install and run the trainer.

Step 2: Extract the trainer files so that they can be viewed and used. Look at the file extension of your downloaded file in order to use the correct program to extract the files.

For .zip files, use WinZip or PKZip.
     For .rar files, use WinRAR.
     For .ace files, use WinAce.

Step 3: Look for files with the .nfo or .txt file extensions that were included with the archive. Use a text editor such as Note Pad or WordPad to read them. They may contain installation and usage instructions for the trainer provided from the individual or group that created it. Note: Rarely, a trainer archive may just include the program itself. In such cases, basic instructions will appear when you run the program. Also, the archive may contain a file_id.diz text file that provides a summary of what is included with the trainer.

Step 4: Trainers must be running simultaneously with its intended game. Start the game and begin game play. Press [Alt] + [Tab] to switch to the Windows Desktop, then start the trainer. Select the desired cheat options and press [Alt] + [Tab] again to switch back to the game. Do not exit the trainer until after your game ends. Note: Trainers are most often written for specific versions (patches) of games. The most common reason that trainers do not work correctly is a mismatched version.
